The Vino: I'm not sure if it's because I had just left academy or if this isn't one of the best gun shops I've ever been to but either way this place had everything.That was everything from handguns to shotguns to rifles. This is not to mention great deals on ammunition and just about every type of add-on outside of special order pieces made for specific firearms.There were tons of fishing gear, archery pieces and accessories and everything in between in terms of outdoor activities.The staff was amazing and extremely knowledgeable not to mention very helpful even though it was busy.I walked in looking and walked out with a new handgun.I found my new hobby store 👍

Duck Guy: If I could give negative stars I would the bucks and Jake's on Westside of Evansville Indiana is horrible had a drunk employee working ended up paying top dollar for a damaged gun 600$ + and they won't even let me return it for the exact gun I bought pretty sure the old man dropped it

Lance Kale Jackman: Damien did a fantastic job. He clearly had a lot of experience in archery. I bought a new bow and a dozen arrows. He cut them all to length, sized my draw length, and even sighted the bow at 20 yards at their indoor range. Great customer service I highly recommend this store.

JOHN PAGE: Have used the evansville location previously had a bent cam on my bow and busted string stops they noticed my limbs where cracked and informed me so very thorough also had great time with my wife picked out her first bow decked it out with the accessories great with the assistance on what was right for her spent lot of money that day only issue everytime I call no one ever answers always get voicemail leave mesaage no return call I have called prob 8 times today called the boonville location on accident first time they answered 3rd ring

Bob 812: Good selection, but what's the use if you stand back at the ammo counter and no one asks if you need help? Just one other couple in the store, so it wasn't busy. Check your cameras, 4/1 at 3:00ish pm. There were multiple coworkers at the counter when I walked in... then they all disappeared except the lady leaning on the counter at the window on the phone. Tried supporting a local business, guess I'll have to buy off internet. Disappointing.

Brandon Meeks: Don't be too excited if you find something you have been looking for on the shelf at one of their locations. They place the items on gunbroker as well. Apparently it is regular practice for them to leave guns in the cabinet after they sell on line. Tried to start paperwork on one yesterday after talking with the gentleman at the gun counter about it. When the other associate was approached to start the process, she informed me that she couldn't sell me the gun because it sold thirty minutes prior on gunbroker. Would be less than one star but google won't allow the post without any stars. This company cares more about a sell from one person online who they told me was from PA than they care about what was a regular customer that had spent thousands between the two locations.

Mike Condra: Went in and bought a new set of arrows for my daughter who shoots for Tecumseh High School. During the first shoot several fletchings flew off. Took them in to be repaired and they had the nerve to charge my daughter $38 to have brand new arrows fixed. 2 shoots later while a shoot I again have 2 fletchings in my hand that just flew off. We will not be purchasing any more archery equipment from this place. It would be different if they would actually stand behind their products but unfortunately they do not. They replied as you can see below. A refund was never offered like they said. Actually I waited 3 days to even get a call back about a refund and then no responses were recieved after that. The arrows were certainly not over a year old.

rollie johnson: I went t store to pick up bait for fishing outing with my son tomorrow no one at counter so I went to shelves and got a cricket container went back to counter and employee came from back to check out a person who is buying a gun another employee came to counter to check out a young boy and his mom as he was checking him out employee looked at me and said he would be right with me as he was finishing with the boy a man walked into store and the employee started taking care of him , not a word was said to me . So I told him thank you for lying to me !!! And that was a very poor way to run business And I at least expect some kind of apology from the owners. and more training for there week end help

You don’t come across guys like Bob too often that have the patience and expertise in Archery.Bob also knows a ton about food plot strategy. Our family refers to him as Food Plot Bob!

We love Bucks and Jakes, but it’s very Frustrating that your marketing department doesn’t have the knowledge to be able to change your Google plus page based upon time changes. That’s a really bad business model and I think you really should be evaluating the simple fact that your marketing department has made your business look very unprofessional.

YOU made the choice to force the mask and turn away business! I have not worn a mask since i have been here visiting! Also OFFENDED is not the proper word to use, it would be INFRINGED!!!)High prices and MANDATORY MASK'S even though you can maintain 6ft. I was here a month ago and NO masks were required.Walked in with 2 of us and 2 other people behind us we didn't know and they said masks or leave so we All left.Will take my business elsewhere as it seems many are!!

Nick Truitt: Went to the store and walked down the gun counter plainly visible to the person working behind the counter. I then went and waited for the person to get finished talking with his buddy. I waited ten minutes being patient as I was looking to purchase a rifle they had on the shelf. Never one time did he ask if I needed help he just glanced down at me standing there and kept talking. I believe I'll keep going to one of their local competitors. They lost out on a sale today.

Larry Robertson (WebHobbit): Terrible. They are listed as a Gallery of Guns/Gun Genie dealer but apparently no one currently working there has any idea how it works! I placed an order and paid the down payment. 4 days later still no call or email from BuckandJakes. So I call them using the number listed on GoG. I talked to two people at this number (the Evansville store) neither had any idea what I was talking about and finally one of them said "oh the online thing - that's the Boonville store"..."Why did you call this one?".So I called the Boonville store and again NO ONE KNEW what Gallery of Guns/Gun Genie was! They handed me off to 2 or 3 people until I reached the lady that handles online orders. She said they wouldn't have ANY record of something until it actually got to them.So I hung up and called Gallery of Guns directly. They said that's NOT HOW IT WORKS. They said the Dealers listed on GoG will not get any order sent to them until they process the order after GoG receives the down payment. So basically my GoG order just set there for 4 days and would have set there for an ETERNITY because BuckandJakes have no idea what they are doing! The GoG guy cancelled the order for me and refunded the deposit. So I placed the order from an Online shop (in another state) and had it transferred to Top Shot of Evansville (formerly J&S) without incident (and it in a speedy 3 days). GoG is supposed to be a way to use your local dealer online. So BuckandJakes lost a 500 dollar sale and earned this bad review.
