But, I didn’t have a good experience living at Kunkel Square for the majority of my two years there.The complex is poorly managed with staff that doesn’t take the concerns of residents seriously regarding repairs, safety, and billing.More than once, I would see additional charges on my account that were “added on by mistake.” Several residents experienced this as well, which led many to believe that Kunkel was trying to rip its tenants off.The elevator was also out of commission several times. At one point, it didn’t work for nearly a month. So, residents (even on the 10th floor) had to take the stairs. Kunkel said residents could use the maintenance elevator in the back of the building while the main elevator wasn’t working. However, most of the time Kunkel failed to provide that service and we still had to take the stairs.If you’re looking to live downtown, I would recommend living elsewhere.

Michael Kiesel: It's been awhile since I've lived in apartments and when I discovered that Kunkel Group was remodeling the Mccurdy I was ecstatic because I've always loved the building. When I first started looking at information for it I was amazed at the price/benefits of living here. We were told that they were going to have a coffee house, gym, rooftop access, pet friendly, blinds, internet/tv/water included. The main elevators were still being worked on but we were assured that they would be fixed in 6-8 weeks( this was May of 2017). It's now January 2018 and still no elevator access(other than freight elevator that is only usable during certain hours by one of their employees). Coffee house? Proper coffee house was supposedly going to open in June of 2017.. fast forward to today and as far as I can tell no work has been done on their space. Gym? Ha, they don't even have a simple weight room. When I last spoke to our residency manager he said they'd hopefully have something ready in December.. This was in August, it's now January of 2018 and you guessed it, still nothing. Roof top access? we have specifically been told we are not allowed on the roof or even the verandah. They can't even get the blinds that they said they were going to be supplying to every apartment. These are just some of the numerous complaints/problems that we and other tenants have had since moving in. So basically what I wanted to say is thanks Kunkel, thanks for ruining the amazing potential that this building had.
