Nix Repairs & Maintenance Division: what do users think?
Alan Blackburn: I needed some metal. They cut it to the length I needed. Perfect.
Anita Burkett: They some good people there
Michael Williams: This place is great
Randy Scott: I appreciate this big company in a small community, they always help with the simplest metal projects and find time to meet the needs of the community as well as big projects.
Paul Fox: Maybe you have to be a local or a relative to get the five star experience everyone else reports.I will update with corrective quotes (do they really believe this is acceptable?) and photographs taken in daylight.I didn’t get what I asked for, there was a “winging it,” sense of approach, and you’ll see the consequences of that in the photos.I paid what they demanded which was more than I was quoted but I couldn’t afford to spend another who knows how much for another day at the local restaurant. For what I spent on getting burned for storage a couple tiny cities over, and the discussions and designs, and concerns I felt were more or less ignored, and the costs of sort of existing within reasonable proximity to their workshop, I feel I should have gotten something significantly closer to what I asked for. Even more, the sloppiness of the work is truly astonishing.Lots of people in the area recommended them which is why I suffered the inconveniences of doing business with them. I’d recommend avoiding it unless the quality of what they do for you is less important than function. What they did will work for a while, but even within that, I have a LOT of corrections to make (if I even can). The photos demonstrate a number of the issues I outline you’ll be able to see with your own eyes. The imbalance alone (did they math at all?) will wear my tires faster.I really wanted to be impressed but I’m just grateful it’s done and I can work on escaping Indiana. So far this is the “flavor,” of interaction I’m coming to understand is the foundation of Indiana. The extra expenses robbed me the full completion of the project which should have included custom tarps, sandblasting the bed and frame. It also means I can’t upgrade my charge controller, my panels, or a lot of other things... how nice would it look (if it had been done right) powder coated?Bolts vibrate free. They “don’t carry,” nylon locking nuts or well nuts. The impression I got from the conversations I tried to have about it can be summarized by “smash it stuck.”Update:I have managed to attach my upgraded panels temporarily but when I reach around 50 mph the whole thing wobbles and I’m worried that it’ll break. Not a soul has reached out to make it right so I conclude they were intending to burn me.Because they didn’t even bother to take off the sharp bits my ropes and ties are all being shredded too.Yet another expense for making the mistake of trusting them.Burned AF.If this kills me or someone else, or if anyone gets hurt, know it was this company taking advantage of a disabled person. May they enjoy the consequences of their actions.
Buddy Wilsey: Good People to do business with.
Jared Smith: They gave me a call when the trailer I was looking for came into their inventory. We made a deal & I bought it. Great/fast service. Reasonable pricing.
Alberto Cabrera: Great
Ray Rentchler: Very helpful
Harold Kaetzel: Quality work. Quick, timely service reasonably priced. If they can't fix or make what you need, you may as well through it away and buy a new one.
Barbara Schley: Nix Equipment service is outstanding - their employees are extremely knowledgeable and helpful in finding the exact part for your needs.
