Gene Tenbarge: Lee Matthews apparently thinks of themselves as a premium, designer-driven furniture store. I suppose that would be true If ethics didn’t figure into the equation. We bought two of the high end Stressless chairs with ottomans on November 9. Knowing that Black Friday was coming up and would be followed closely by Holiday sales and not being on any hurry for the chairs, we asked if there would be any specials or sales on these products. We were told by Barb that not only would there not be any sales or specials, but that the Stressless chairs NEVER went on sale and, in fact, Lea Matthews would lose their Stressless dealership if they ever discounted or offered special prices in Stressless products.Imagine my surprise when driving by the store on Sunday, December 4, when I saw the huge sign on the front of the store: “STRESSLESS CHARITY EVENT SALE”. I later found out that I could have saved $700 by waiting 3 1/2 weeks to buy the chairs.I talked to a sales associate about this a day or so later and was told that “they didn’t lie, it just wasn’t explained very well“. I don’t know where they learned their vocabulary, but when you blatantly and intentionally tell someone something that is not true, that is a LIE.Don’t expect for Lea Matthews to let ethics get in the way of a sale.

I can attest to have gone to many furniture stores in this area and no one can hold a candle to Lea Matthews Furniture quality, selection and price! Barbara was so helpful and the end result was more than I could have hoped for! I have a stunning family room and will enjoy it for years to come! Highly recommend!

Cameron Campagna: Recently purchased this beautiful couch from Lea Mathews furniture store. Not really knowing much about couches, they were very helpful with every question I had regarding furniture. The couch we bought was custom designed with performance fabric that removes all stains spilt. Within the first month of owning the couch we unfortunately put this fabric to the test with a full glass of wine. I was shocked that with a little bit of elbow grease and water we were able to get the entire glass of wine out with no stain! Amazingly soft and virtually stain proof couch is what Lea Matthews provided us in a couch. Very satisfied with our purchase and I look forward to working with them again

Jessica Bechtel: I had an unfortunate experience at this design studio, we had purchased a very expensive couch and planned our entire living room around it, after only 6 months the couch began falling apart, the fabric looked horrible, pilling and pulling apart, feathers everywhere, after numerous people took notice of this and told me I needed to get my money back I called the design studio and was told "I was not taking care of it, and to shave the couch". This couch cost close to $5,000 and I have owned other expensive pieces and have never been told to shave my furniture until this point. After actually attempting this with no improvement I was told they would contact their rep, I took photos and sent them, after weeks of emailing and calling and hearing nothing I received a rude email and was told they could do nothing for us, and actually blamed this on us and the fact that we have dogs, clearly in evansville its very rare for people to have dogs. Its so unfortunate because we had planned on spending a lot of money to complete our living room, instead we are taking our business to the many other furniture companies that exist. I recommend you do the same.

Janet Alvey: I started searching for ideas on counters. I made an appointment as requested, took my cabinet door and my existing tile in. I had tossed around the idea of just upgrading to a better laminate due to some costly expenses already incurred with my home, but had also asked for a quote on quartz also to compare. I followed up with email/ pics of kitchen and dimensions needed as requested and no follow up or even a quote. Not even a follow up call. My suggestion for this business is that Customer Service can help win a sale. When I got no response from the person I dealt with, I moved on. There’s too many people wanting business to chase down folks to get a quote.I ended up going with a granite install after reviewing my options. I based my decision to move forward with another company that consulted, provided suggestions on how to improve lay out and continued to reach out and follow up.
