Eric Meyerholtz: I had SDI hang and finish the drywall and paint my basement. The communication was excellent, and they got the job done quickly. A few negatives that I have found so far - (1) they covered up two outlets with drywall. Luckily I had pictures of the framing, and they did come out to cut around the outlets. However they still cut in the wrong place and left me with a cut mark and screw holes to patch and repaint. (2) they did not finish and paint close enough to the recessed lights for standard trims to cover. (3) he wanted to increase the cost during the project.Response to Brandon's statement:Your response is very unexpected and most of it is completely false. The covered outlets were 100% your fault as they were behind drywall you installed. I am not sure how that is not your responsibility. When the installer you sent out caused the damage to the wall, he immediately sent you pictures and stated you would be in contact to fix it. You never reached out until after my review. I did not reply because we are going to fix the drywall and repaint the wall ourselves. You have constantly reminded me how much you are in the hole for this project, so we were not going to ask you to do any more work. Apparently you also forgot about the hundreds of extra dollars I gave you at the end of the project...before I found the issues.I do agree we had a disagreement on the stairwell. I am tired of companies requiring the customer to sign contracts, and then the company not standing behind the contract they signed. You came out to quote the job, you saw the existing drywall, you made the contract with the pricing...and now you are complaining that you had to do extra work to meet the contract requirements. So yes, I was frustrated that you were constantly asking for more money.However, in no way have I harassed you or any of your crew. I gave you extra money, I let you put a sign in our yard, I always had the basement open for your crew, etc. If you think a 3-star rating is harassing, then I apologize. I am not even going to change it based on your response below because I try to be fact based in my ratings vs. emotional. I guess you require a 5-star rating or you bash the customer.

Jason McClure: This is the type of company everyone wants to do business with. The guys are experienced, courteous, and have great interpersonal skills. They use great product and work diligently to make sure your project is done to your specs. Most impressive to me, however, wasn’t any of the above, but how this company is run from the top by incredible example. Brandon’s communication is very dependable while also very unobtrusive. He drops into jobs to make sure the standards are held high—he’ll even get his hands dirty himself to get things done properly. He doesn’t bait and switch you on pricing, even to his own consequence. He is more helpful and accommodating than quite possibly any other company owner I’ve met. After sharing quite a bit of time and words with him, it’s quite apparent why his company is considered one of the best of the best in south Indiana. He has worked hard to maintain the strong reputation he has come to have, both with new and longtime customers—one of which I believe I’ll be for a long time to come.

The picture is the supposed crack repair they did. The amount of money they charged me for this is obscene. My recommendation is to stay far away from this company and if you buy a house that’s had repairs done by this company… run. They told me they are usually hired by home sellers.

We had an overflowing toilet upstairs and they supposedly fixed it.We had to have a plumber come out and look at it today.They didn't put the seals around the toilet.So the plumber had to come fix it.Luckily we caught it in time before we had another issue like before.

Kiley Wolfe: Run now, for the sake of your home!!! This so called company was a recommendation our realtor had given us after we received our inspection report. Our lender required that we clear up a few items on the inspection report as a stipulation. Before getting started, Stoney assured us that these issues could be fixed easily by his “team”. Stoney was given an extremely specific numbered punch list straight from the our inspection report, along with a very user friendly spreadsheet in order to avoid confusion. Rather than communicate the agenda to his team, I came home from work to spindles being kicked out of my front porch railing. In fact it wasn’t even on the list of items. In a state of panic, I had to enter my home after a long day at work and try to remain calm while I explained to Upright workers that they shouldn’t be touching the front porch. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the worker’s fault that there was zero management/leadership. Eventually we were forced to have a family member come supervise the work being done, because we couldn’t quit our jobs to manage Upright Construction full time. Imagine, after a hard day at work, coming home and delegating tasks to crews. I was managing his workers myself because if I didn’t then my house was getting destroyed and not put back together. Another day, I came home to a strange woman in my home who didn’t work for their company at all. We contacted Stoney and he very obviously made up a sob story about this. Another day I came home to workers removing my back porch decking… another item not on the specific list. Stoney replaced the decking boards but never had his crews paint them to match my back porch so it still looks like total garbage. As other reviews have stated, many projects were left half completed. Our gutters still leak. I could sit here and go on. When the work was done it was pitiful quality. Stoney did nothing but make excuses for his lack of experience. People need to know this before hiring this company out, I would feel so terrible if another homeowner was taken advantage of they way we were. To be honest, I wouldn’t change my review, even if they issued me a total refund. The damage this company did far exceeds the cost of their “repairs”. I also love that Stoney is on here replying to bad reviews and offering to fix things. Listen bud, these people KNOW better. We don’t want you or any of your clowns in our homes again.

Aaron Tanner: We hired Upright to repair the flashing around our chimney. Their first attempt (photo 1) looked worse than the flashing they had replaced. Their second attempt (photo 2) was never finished. We were told the person who had done the repairs got sick and left the job site early without informing anyone. Regardless, a storm came through the following day and drenched our living room causing water damage to our interior walls and ceiling. Their third attempt looked much better, but it failed to work. Instead of doing the job correctly, they filled the area between the flashing and roof with caulk. When the caulk dried, it shrank and water continued to leak into our roof and walls. We ultimately had to hire another company to redo the flashing and repair the damage their work caused. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! They clearly have no idea what they’re doing!
