Ascension St. Vincent Evansville: what do users think?
Mark Norman: The billing services they use is a mess. I am very un happy with them at this point.I keep getting different stories each time I talk to them. They still have 1,000.00 of mine and haven't refunded me any of it and it's been 3 weeks.
kyle campbell: Me and my girl hated it here when we were at the NICU all the nurses and doctors and everyone was watching us they were rude and the social worker and some of the nurses and doctors were discriminating against me and being racist and trying to take my baby away from me I will never come back to have a baby there worst people there ever and not very helpful and I will never have a social worker ever again and the NICU people are the worst
Rebecca Johnson: The entire ER rooms need a sprucing up. A massive overhaul is needed. And instead of changing the name of the hospital take the money for a new sign and spruce up the entire hospital. And the man who is always outside protesting deserves to be heard.
DJ Smith: Honestly horrible! It scares me for the people there who can’t speak for themselves and don’t have family members to stand up for them. Super unorganized , can never be on same page about anything either. One person will tell you one thing, then someone else will tell you another. Can’t even give family members a time frame on when procedures will be done. Tell people they are fasting for a procedure, so don’t give them food all day, just for them to say they are doing it another day, therefore the patient is going without food and water unnecessarily. If the hospital actually had an organized schedule and clear communication throughout staff, would probably be much better. But unless you can check on your family member everyday to ensure they are feeding them and informing them correctly— don’t go here!!
John Kuntz: The service at the ER is kind of hit and miss. I've had both the best experiences and the worst experiences there. The wildebeest at the check in counter is less than friendly.
Jen Jazyk: Avoid this place using all necessary measures for yourself or a loved one. There are maybe a handful of great nurses and/or techs, but beyond that it is a mismanaged nightmare. The few good, can't possibly make up for all the negligent incidences we witnessed and experienced.
Samantha Mays: L&D nurses were fantastic while we were admitted for monitoring.
Kenny Seaton: Friendly staff, very helpful. Concern about what's going on with you. Best hospital. Gateway hospital are very hateful staff
jeremy Ellis: They threw my brothers dentures away when transported to Encompass. Ascension took no responsibility for their actions. The nurse on duty was to busy doing paperwork to follow-up. This is not the first time. A lady named Faith had her dentures thrown away. The hospital should pay. Mary Ellis.
Billie Kitch: Tried calling for x ray results and no one seems to have them. Waste of time going here.
Linda Brown: I go Pulmonary Rehab at Evansville St Vincent Hospital. I go 3 times a week and have for years. I-go to the CAM Building. (Center for Advanced Medicine). It is always clean and the people employed there have always been friendly. The staff at the gym are excellent and great example of the quality of care that I have come to realize is standard care you can expect at at St Vincent’s.
TheoNlyMe: I've found this St. Vincent to be entirely negligent of problems and issues expressed by the patient. I had to go to another facility for treatment for illness 2x after going to St. Vincent because both times they failed to check what was actually wrong, despite me asking them to check. Both times it was Dr. Gladys, who is anything other than Glad, he is awful. I had internal bleeding and was ignored, and not checked. I had to go to another facility the next day to find out my reason for illness was internal bleeding. These incidents were around 2018.The only reason I'm giving them 1 star is because they have great phlebotomist and such, but their ER doctors are highly negligent.
Blanche Devereaux: Hospitalist and doctors had absolutely horrendous bedside manner. I was in tears twice just due to the lack of empathy. Nurses were all quite sweet though. Thank goodness for them.
Joey Askins: I arrived to ER with elevated temperature post surgical procedure. Rather than ask me a million unrelated questions the ER staff got right to work to find out what was wrong. Because of them I am now feeling much better and recovering at home. Thank you so much for your kindness and compassion.
Jarod Rickabaugh: Never will I come back. Been here 6 times in my life and everytime they let me down. Never again glorified band aid clinic
Cassie Goetzke: First of all, I want to give credit to where it is due. My experience with St. Vincent Hospital was a great one on the most part. It was actually a healing experience for me as I had traumatic experiences with other hospitals when delivering my two older children. It meant a lot to me that the majority of the staff read my birth plan and did their best to cooperate with my wishes. Thank you for that! Also, the amenity of a queen size bed for an overnight stay at the hospital was very nice. Now the absolute best part of my experience at Ascension was a nurse named Peyton Williams. My goal was natural childbirth and Peyton was both knowledgeable and skilled to assist me with this goal. She listened to me. She spoke the words of affirmation that I needed to hear. She accurately recommended the movements and positions that I needed to progress in labor. I was impressed with her ability to balance professionalism and personal attention. It was obvious her heart was “all-in”. I felt like I had a best friend helping me and yet I had just met her and, in her mind, she was just doing her job to help me succeed. I have never experienced this level of care before from a nurse. Now the worse part of my experience at Ascension were the 1 or 2 nurses who came barging in my delivery room yelling at me to lay on my back on the bed. At the time, I was upright on my knees on the bed holding onto the birthing bar that the hospital had provided for me. I was in the process of pushing and had already gotten the baby’s head out. I remember feeling very calm and happy that my dream of having no pain meds so that I could push in an upright position and deliver my baby naturally was happening. The doctor hadn’t arrived yet and my husband was excitedly catching the baby and this was just the cherry on top for me. BUT, the cops (I mean the nurses) yelled at me and put a stop to it and ended up tainting this beautiful story. What was meant to be sacred was disrespected.I felt like it was more dangerous to change positions in the middle of pushing the baby out, but I did it (with help) so that the nurse would stop yelling. You know, I imagine that this nurse just doesn’t have enough experience with natural childbirth and, when she saw that the doctor wasn’t there, she felt the need to change the environment to the controlled births that she’s used to. But the hospital is the one who provided the birthing bar! If we’re not allowed to use it, don’t give it to us.If Ascension wants to be inclusive in empowering all types of birthing women, then they need to train their staff appropriately and make sure that they’re all updated to the methods and approach needed. Seriously, I would let Peyton lead the way!
Nicholas Talerico: to be honest hospital staff and wait time was extremely rough then can't properly diagnose people and then second guessing what it couldn't or could be overall give it a 2/10 star needs improving badly
Logan Matlock: 5 stars purely because of the doctor Brandon Taylor not only was he amazing at his job but he made us feel secure and like we had nothing to worry about, like I seriously cant put into words how good he was I've lived in this city my entire 19 years of living and not only have I never met a doctor that professional and nice, but I dont think I will ever meet a doctor again thats as good as him. GIVE MANS A RAISE.
Amy Donnelly: If you can go anywhere else, please do. Absolute worst experience of my life. Treated so rudely in office that I switched providers. They refused to fax over records to that doctor while I'm pregnant. That took several calls and getting my blood pressure through the roof to correct. Next they decided to not send an entire bill to insurance after 2 different recorded calls with the office stating specifically to. Now, they've sold it to collections within a month! On the phone with insurance because they pay 100% of these yearly visits. Absolutely the worst Healthcare practices I've ever seen. I'm shocked they treat patients this way.
Elizabeth Zavala: Really bad front person take first people came after my daughter they don't look there dying either so they take u back if they see u dying or what no matter u have pain right.
Kerri Reese: These people are so helpful and nice even if you complain they still help and not get offended. I appreciate you all so much. Thank you for hiring great nurses and staff you all really care and it shows

Select Specialty Hospital - Evansville: what do users think?
Andy Anderson: I really liked the care I got from doctors and staff. Couldn't find a better place.
Lauren Burris: Great staff & great energy. They all try their very best to provide exceptional patient care.
cindy cook: My wife just got out of this hospital and she said her experience was top notch she has been to 3 other rehabilitation hospitals and this one rates number one
Jaylyn Kellen: Miscommunication, held back information, didn’t clean up body.
Paul Carter: Nothing to say just a nightmares place ..
Cindy Akers: I truly believe they saved my life. Everyone was extremely helpful. I had one on one care if needed. I feel very grateful and I humbly say Than You. God Bless you all..
Angie: NEVER NEVER NEVER let a loved one come here! My Dad didn't make it18 hours after being brought here. They told us he had pneumonia after giving him a chest xray (1st lie They told us!) Dr came in the next morning and said he did NOT have pneumonia and here comes the 2nd lie ( Dr said he was doing much better) not even 2 hours later my Dad was gone!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER TRUST THIS PLACE!!!
peggy childers: The staff are 1 in a million. They got me thru a rought time.
Jeanna Crossen: DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY TO THIS PLACE!!
Michelle Strate: I arrived on 9/4/21 from another hospital and had been on a pureed diet, the only thing they could find for me to eat was tuna salad. I was told to try and remember the nurse and cna who took care of me because I had Covid brain, but that was pretty impossible with visiting nurses. The doctor who treated me let know my liver numbers were higher than normal, I asked if I should be worried and his answer was it will be okay. About 4 days later I was sitting on the bedside toilet and I look at my legs and they were the colors of a gourd. One of the nurses told me when no one cold hear us that they needed to get me out of there before they killed me because my liver numbers were through the roof. When the doctor came in the next day needless to say I was not lady like when I demanded that something be done, he replied I will see if we can find a traveling ultrasound tech. I told him that there was no we will see and that he better do something. He walked out of the room and 2o minutes later the nurse said he had changed his mind and was sending by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Now I understand that it is a rehabilitation place but he should have sent me to the hospital as he watched my liver numbers go up. I ended up having surgery the next morning because I had gallstones blocking my bile ducts.
Joseph Morris: My son's Brandon was in a head on collision. He suffered 3 broke ribs, punctured lung, 2 strokes , an adi and a brain stem injury. The people at select specialty hospital and Owensboro regional hospital took very good care of my son. The staff at these hospitals went above and beyond to provide the best care possible. He is recovering and I thank all of the people that save my boy. I can't thank you all enough.
Charity Potter: My father spent 22 days with Select Specialty Hospital, a critical care facility in Evansville Indiana where the staff to patient ratio is balanced. They have 60 beds, but only 41 were used as "Specialty" care matters to them. The RT is staged outside the patients room. The nurses station is a hub with call boards for welcome collaboration. The staff respect one another and they take great pride in the progression of their patients. 5 out of 5 🌟 🤩.
Gregg Ferrell: Great Place for great care of my family. sorry Ms Wong could not make two wrongs a right. you parked wrong as you admitted then stalked ms dixon to work then tried to get her in trouble. That is actually 3 wongs against you. In my opinion you are what is wrong with America especially playing the race card.
kelly wong: I had a horrible run in with a worker from this facility. She was screaming racial slurs towards my family as we walked out of the Walgreens since we were parked too close to her. This center is remarkable and above all wonderful with their care, but to have someone working there like this bothers me to my core. I followed her to her place of work and asked a person that works there what her name was. I made sure she couldn't see me. I can't beleive what this woman had done...Janice Dixon was her name. I'm feel for anyone that crosses her path. Please pray for her as she does not see her ways and needs help:(
Christina Walker: If I could give this hospital ZERO stars I would! If you care anything about your family DO NOT put them here!! My husband came here for rehab and to be weaned off the ventilator after battling Covid. Respiratory I did not have any issues with. Most of them were wonderful. Everyone else...HORRIBLE! They ripped out his chest tube while repositioning him. Had to wait 6 hours to get it replaced. Then come to find out weeks later (after we were transferred to another hospital) that the second one was not done properly! After contacting the CEO on this incident all I received was a stupid apology letter!! They never answered his call light ( mainly the night nurses) plus they were quick to kick you out right at 8:00. Physical therapy treated him like he was a 4 year old not a 47 year old man! If this review saves another family from going through what we want through it'll be worth it!!
Eli Smith: My father was a patient at Select this year and honestly, it was a mixed experience. The staff are incredible, first and foremost. I can’t recall everyone’s names, but these few stood out: Madison CNA, Wendy RN, Sandra RN, Mike RT, Crystal the supervisor, and several others whose names I unfortunately didn’t catch. The staff were warm, friendly, and helpful. A staff member on nights, a woman with purple hair, made sure my dad’s phone was close to him for me to call, and even wrote down directions for me and suggested a local hotel and some restaurants, as I’m not from Evansville. The care my family member received, was phenomenal as far as I could tell. But the building itself needs a lot of work. The hospital isn’t very welcoming and is clearly very poorly maintained. The elevators weren’t working properly, the floors were stained and dingy, the wallpaper is peeling off the walls, dead roaches, even the outside of the building is a bunch of different colors, like they couldn’t decide on a paint color. The walls are beige, the floors are beige, the trim is beige, the elevators are beige. The whole place feels very outdated, like nothing has been updated since the 80s. The staff here are caring and helpful, while overworked and underpaid, but clearly the administrators need to focus a little more on the overall aesthetic of their facility. If the hospital was better maintained/updated, it would be 5 stars from me!
Justin Lisanby: They were very helpful I just went to get birth certificate and some mask's got and out in 15 minutes. Very nice and helpful.
Sandra Feltz: When I 1st was being transferred to select I to Select I was really nervous. But from admission to going home I had nothing but wonderful care! They made sure that any questions I had were answered in a timely manner. It did not matter What position anyone held if they noticed I needed something whomever saw it willingly and gladly helped me. From therapy, to techs,, to nurse's, to dietary and patient adovateswhat position a person held if I needed any help no matter who it was they were willing to help. . At 1 point I was nervous about dinner as I hadn't been there that day to order dinner but they came up with plenty. There's plenty of options and the entire stay the food was wonderful. From the therapist to the techs to the nurses to the doctors everyone there treated me with respect and kindness. And being treated that way is very important when you're at a low point. I cannot say enough good things about the care I received there. And beyond the care it was the human kindness kindness that really helped to get me through this day..I could hear the compassion and care they showed others as I walked the halls for therapy. I feel confident in recommending this hospital to anyone in need of their services.
Justin Phillips: I would have never walked again if it wasn't for the great therapists at this hospital.
Chicago Haitian 35: All the staff was excellent
Terry Sparks: I've read a few disappointing reviews of select and I gotta say I can't agree with them,as far I can see I couldn't have had a better team of medical professionals working and taking care of me for the better part of 2 months last year (Nov/December) having significant back wound to pressur wounds they were amazing in getting me on a great start on the road to recovery ,I can't thank the nurses enough for their patience, understanding and just generally awesomenessI don't want to forget my case worker Tracey who was very helpful , I was glad she in my corner ,not only am I indebted to Dr. Rostas of Washington Indiana for saving my life, but also the amazing staff of Select Specialty of EvansvilleThank YouTerry Sparks
