Mia Hillaker: My 7 month old and I had a wonderful visit! Lots to do with small kids, and specific areas for babies and their mothers. Many great exhibits for older ones as well. Staff were very nice and helpful. Close to parking structures and restaurants/coffee shops as well, so it's easy to make a day out of it. Looking forward to going back again when my child is older!

Zac Driesen: The Evansville African American Museum provides a great way to spend 1-2 hours. Tickets were affordable ($5 for students, $7 for adults). With a ticket, we got a tour of the small museum. The museum has a bit of American history but the real charm is the focus on the local community. You'll learn how the deviststion of the great flood, famous community members, and how schools/students battled racism.I absolutely loved the art. There are two beautiful quilts donated by schools and lovely pieces on the stairs. Our tour guide was raised in the apartment building that now serves as the museum. She was incredibly knowledgeable and a blast to be around. She added the perfect amount of local touch and charm to positively affect our experience.

Ruth B: Loved being able to have a guided tour through the Museum. I was able to visit, along with our families, due to it being a reunion of Bucyrus-Erie employees. My dad and sister both worked there in the office at the time of its closing in 1983. Dad had 40 years of employment, starting at age 15 by sweeping floors in the machine shop. My sister worked there approx. 15 years, all in the office.I'd love to be able to go through it again and be able to see what we didn't have time to see.

Valerie O: Neat museum if you like WW2 history and are interested in learning how Evansville played its role. I am not from the area, so it was surprising to learn how Evansville helped in wartime supplies. The docent was very knowledgeable and answered the handful of questions I had.I hear there is sometimes an opportunity to ride along in a plane. I didn't get to do that on this trip, but I would come again for that.

Kyle Woolsey: Amazing place. My and the bulk of the family went to day and were greeted with smiles and anticipation. We were shown around by Jason who knew his stuff. For an $11 tour he gave us a very detailed tour filled with jokes and information. I would highly recommend coming by with the family to learn and admire the great history they have to offer.
aaron adams: Great location! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and nice. He talked fast and kept things moving at a great pace. Highly recommend a visit.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure Price for adult entry $6–10 …More
David White: Very interesting. Need to post hours.
Tim McNinch: I have touched on my father's wartime experience only a small bit. He chose to never speak of his experience and I respected his feeling. He passed in 1999 and my interest has piqued some in these training years. Finding he was radioman on a B-24 in WWII. Searching, I found 3 airworthy B-24 Liberators, these located in the USA and maintained by groups. Finally deciding I would like to really get into a Liberator, whether airworthy or not, to see and feel as close to what my father experienced in training.I located the Evansville Wartime Museum, as they had one of the B-24s on display, Diamond Lil, based out of Texas. I purchased tickets for a 30 minute flight, which included access to all of the museum exhibits. The following day, the B-24 flew to a new location for similar tours.I will tell you that everything was professional, well explained and all managed by an army of volunteers. The flight and additional time in the plane was just amazing.

Sean Owen: I'd easily give this place 5 stars no problem.. but I tried to come out today on 9-22-22 to see the one day war time planes after I got off work and got told there not letting anymore people then but then they magically let In people as I turn around to leave! That really hurts to know they lied to me but yet let other people in after me
