Cris Z: 4 years ago I went here for new glasses. I was on HIP and they were one of the offices in the area that carried my coverage. My appointment with the Dr. was good, he was very personable, but the tech who was supposed to help me choose glasses was terrible. I asked for the largest glasses I could get and she handed me two frames telling me this was all my coverage was good for, a receptionist when I picked them up said that wasn't true.I off-handedly mentioned going to a chain optometrist and she launched into a rant about how awful those places were, I felt chastised for not previously having insurance as those places are affordable for the uninsured. She half heartedly attempted to correct the crooked frame she handed(the larger pair) and when I noted how skewed they were she blamed my face(even though my face hadn't been the problem in the previous 15 years I'd worn glasses) but assured me they would be just fine when I picked them up. During my fitting she was very warm and inviting to another group that entered while she was with me. I selected my glasses and left. As I noted I told the receptionist about the interaction, I don't recall having an adjustment or being offered one at all, and left. The glasses were and are to this day crooked. I purchased glasses from an online retailer a few months later(that fit my face and show balance just fine) and I only pull out the glasses received from this practice in emergencies. Every review I've seen and even the friends I made in Evansville have been positive about their experiences at this practice, I can only assume I was treated poorly because of my limited coverage.

Laila Jaber: Went in for eye exam picked out glasses my insurance covers 250$ found frames for 199$ picked lenses was quoted 450$ total. 250 covered by ins. leaves me 200 out of pocket. Decided to bring my own frames in to save money NOW quoted $450 just for the lenses?!!!?!! They still want my insurance 250$ and 200 out of pocket! That’s got to be insurance fraud !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The associate asked me if I had narrowed down my selection after only about 5 minutes, in which I was still looking and had not really decided on anything. I was trying to find a pair of glasses that looked fine on me and that was in the budget my insurance would cover since I did not want to pay anything out of pocket, but I felt rushed and I just picked the first pair of glasses that looked good on me. I had to pay about 80 dollars out of pocket since I didnt have time to look at the price before buying it, which I was not planning to spend that much on glasses. I guess I will just go there about 30 minutes before my appointment so I can try on glasses in peace or just go to an owned practice next time instead of a chain. I felt like the associate was trying to get me to buy certain pairs, like he makes commission off them or something. Just dont make the customers feel rushed to pick something and get out. Thank you!

I had to put money on my credit card as the make employee did not listen to me when I said I didn't have copays from Anthem.My insurance agent sent me an email stating that I didn't have copays. Sent a screenshot of his email to customer service.I will have to make another visit this afternoon as they are closed in noon.

Leslie Kerner: Went last time, with an appointment, and after we arrived they told us they did not have a doctor available that day. They said they tried to call but I didn’t have any missed calls and just an appointment reminder email.Decided to give it another shot and went again with my daughter today. I had submitted all my information weeks in advance but as soon as I told the lady our name she rudely told me there was an issue with insurance. I had all the info from the provider but she(again rudely) told us to go sit down. We waited and then she called us back and told us the insurance wouldn’t verify our coverage but told us we could private pay and try to submit. After being talked to so disrespectfully, we decided to leave. I wouldn’t have cared about the error if it wasn’t for the pure lack of customer service and being talked to the way we were. Definitely will not be going back.

Adam Knight: Made an appointment the morning before online, put in my insurance information, a couple hours later they called to confirm and I gave them my insurance info again. Came in for my appointment they gave me my paperwork to fill out where it says insurance they had a question mark as if they didn't know, even though I gave it to them twice. So, I put my insurance in the spot again. The lady called me right back to do my initial test and looked at my paper and said, oh hold on a second I'll be right back a few seconds later came back and said they just tried to call and could not get a hold of my insurance and if I wanted to pay in cash. I said no and immediately walked outside called the provider number on the back and got right through. They did not try to call just didn't want to take my insurance. Not somewhere I will ever go again and definitely do not like to be lied to. If you don't take my insurance fine I get it be honest. I am self employed and have to ha e what I can afford. But never lie about what you did especially when I am sitting right there and neither of you tried to call anyone in the 5 minutes I was there.

janice jameson: I visited an optician for the medical side of my eyes but not for the vision part of it because they didn’t accept our insurance. My son recommended this place so I made an appointment and went. I can only visit once a year and while the girls in the front were very kind and helpful, the one who did the pre testing was kind but I’d recommend that if she or anyone else speak to the optometrist/ doctor or whoever, make sure that the customer/ patient doesn’t hear the conversation. The optometrist came in and did the exam very quickly and said that I have cataracts and need them removed when I get tired of not seeing. He then said that I would pass a drivers test?? I asked about updating my glasses to help me see. He said I will give you glasses but it’s not going to make much of a difference. And sent me on my way. The glasses are fine but the prescription can be better. Now I have to wait until the beginning of the year to visit another place. Never have I felt like I wasn’t important enough to be properly taken care of. I first gave a review on social media and it was a good one but only for the employees who were respectful

Jessica Gries: I cannot express my gratitude to this office and to Maya. She is always such a great help with whatever I have going on.... Always so accommodable with whatever insurance options you have and she will always provide the best service possible for you. I brought in an extra frame to have a second option with my current lens prescription and she called me letting me know it had been broken, (I signed a waiver saying they aren't responsible) as they get weak over time and the lenses had been changed out a few times, which I understand it happens. I had told her that I had another frame but it was tortoise and I was looking to have a black frame like the ones that had been broken. A few days later I came in to see what my options were and she had brought in a pair of her old black frames that she was not using anymore!! I am so grateful for Maya, the customer service experience with her has been like none other I have ever experienced! Get that girl a raise! She deserves it!

Dottie Schurmeier: Will not fit glasses picked up through the week on Saturday. This makes it challenging throughout the week for their customers that work Monday-Friday. The claim it’s due to COVID & the “health and safety of their customers”. I don’t understand how having an employee there on Saturday morning to fit glasses is going to put me or my family in any greater jeopardy than Monday-Friday.

Amber Sanders: DR. KAY!!! I have had poor vision since second grade. I am now 36. I have severe bear sidedness (-7.75 to -8.00) along with horrible astigmatism and a visible congenital cataract in one eye. I have several allergies to the materials contacts are made of and glasses give me horrible migraines. I had seen many eye doctors and have “settled” to believing how I was seeing (always squinting and never clear vision) was as good as it gets. Today I left Dr. Kay in tears of HAPPINESS!!! She not only took the time to listen to me, but to find contacts I don’t have a reaction to AND are comfortable AND the BEST PART?! I can see..... CRISP CLEAR SHARP!!! I had NO idea THIS was how things were suppose to look, that THIS is how I am suppose to see!! Had it not been for COVID precautions I seriously could have given her the biggest hug. I’m still in near tears for my new vision. Dr. Kay, from the BOTTOM of my heart I thank you and I cannot wait to pick my kids up from school today and for the first time see their faces CLEARLY ❤️ You are a true blessing!!!!!!

Becky Patterson: I have been taking my family to Northside Eye Care for years and spending money on 4 household members glasses, contacts, and eye exams each year. (Dr. Clay ****** and Heather ****). Year 2021 I paid my invoice balance of my families eye needs and orders. I was told that was the balance after my insurance took care of the rest. A few months later I receive a statement in the mail stating I owed money. I called this business and was told it was an "error" on their billing person and my insurance didn't cover what that employee told me and I had to pay the invoice amount. I was upset because the employee informed me that I had paid all the charges for each of my family members balance. I went ahead and paid it but wasn't offered an apology. Now this year I took my daughter and myself in for our yearly exam (03.30.2022) and needing new glasses and contacts. The employee that looks over insurance and helps you pick out frames informs me options. My daughter picked out her glasses and I upgraded to all the extras and same with my pair. I ordered my contacts. This employee informed me twice that I could get a second pair of glasses for my daughter for 50% off. I kept going back and forth before I made a decision. I asked this employee over 2 times for the exact amount out of pocket I would owe total. She gave me a total. I asked again if this was after primary insurance and secondary insurance was applied and I would not owe anymore. She stated for a fact that was the final amount and I would owe no more. I spent a little under 1000.00 of my health savings to pay for contacts and 3 pairs of glasses total. Now 4.29.2022 invoice stating I owe 91.40 still. Spoke to Courtney (assistant manager) and was told it was the employees error taking off 15% to much. And I owed the money. After 2 phone conversations and she "said" she spoke with her manager that she can only offer me 20% discount and I owe 73.12 due to their employee error. BAD BUSSINESS! AGAIN!

Not knowing where to start or what to look for in a pair of glasses, I was greeted with Amanda as soon as I walked in. My sister-in-law went in for an offer last night, but it was not honored.Their website states that they do free eye exams…but she paid $99 for hers.Her frames were at $169, but online the same frame is half that.There was also a promotional offer online about a free eye exam, a pair of glasses, and contacts for $99 but it’s not even advertised on the website anymore. When she questioned the staff member, she answered with, “oh that’s not supposed to be up there.”Once she got home, she was upset that she had to spend almost $600. No warning about the prices or anything beforehand. She thought it’d be around $100.So she paid half last night and then said she’d pay the other half for the contacts when she gets paid next since she can’t really afford that type of splurge. She got home and explained the situation and was very upset. But was happy that she’d at least have her glasses since she paid half.This morning, she got a text saying the glasses were ready. BUT SHE CAN’T EVEN PICK UP THE GLASSES UNTIL SHE PAYS THE FULL AMOUNT.We looked online and could get the same glasses she tried on with her RX and it’s $60.We thought this was absolutely ridiculous so we called the Green River store. They were of NO help, were very rude, and are completely fine with taking full advantage of her. They won’t refund or even try to help. This is ridiculous and we will be getting to the bottom of this.This place has always been really wonderful and always taken care of my family and I, so we’re just very disappointed with Stanton Optical.

Jacenda Sexton (Soshell311): Staff is very friendly and helpful. They try to get you vision as close to perfect and comfortable as possible. They don't treat you like an inconvenience, do the bare minimum then shuffle you out the door like some of the others in the area. Definitely recommend!
