Ascension Medical Group St. Vincent - Evansville Rheumatology: what do users think?
Mitzi Grondin: The Specialist that I saw was great, she is a very very good professional. She covers everything
Marilyn Parker: Kind and courtesy people who work there.
Sidney Martin: Stay away for fibromyalgia care! RA may be a different story, but this place is not where you want to go for fibromyalgia care. The nurses are rude, literally all of them. They do not have a permanent rheumatologist and the one they use part time is only there 1 or 2 days a week. He never feels scripts on time so then you have to wait until the following week when he is there again. There is not a nurse practitioner to help with scripts. The doctor I see is Dr. Sissay, he's friendly, but he seems over worked and like I said refills never get filled. I have called the office manager this past week and he never returned my call after a long message left by me on his voicemail. So it's now been over 14 days since my pain med used for my fibromyalgia has been filled. I called and spoke to my family doctor yesterday and he was livid with the fact that this office has kept me without my medicine. My family doctor filled the medicine needed in 1 hour and I will just be seeing my family doctor for my care from now on. I will be dropping this place for anymore care on Monday.

Richard E. Bell, MD: what do users think?
Tracy Fritts: I'm beyond irritated right now. I had my appointment in October. Still waiting on some results. I have messaged several times. Talked to patient relations. Feel like all Im getting the run around from everyone. I can't afford to keep going to these doctors. I have been in pain for two years and nobody seems to know what's going on. Everyone keeps telling me they get back to me and nobody has expect patient relations. I have so many questions. I'm about sick of doctors right now. I'm at the point I just don't care anymore. This is ridiculous to treat people like this. I just don't trust doctors anymore. . I also didn't like him recording me for his notes on his tablet. It made me very uncomfortable and I didn't like that a nurse wasn't in there when I was in my hospital gown when he was doing test. I waited a year to to see him now I have to wait another year to see him again.
Jesse Boren: One of the best doctors in the Evansville area.
Madonna Collins: Dr Bell took his time hearing my concerns and health problems. Dr Bell listens and you can see that he cares and wants to help. He is knoweable. I would recommend him. Plus he has a wonderful staff.
Chris Bacher: One very rare doctor. He takes his time, asks questions, LISTENS ! Explains thoroughly. Very observant. In 5 minutes, he noticed what multiple Drs and 3½ days in a hospital had not noticed. Testing is now underway and he keeps you very up to date and informed as to test results. Very impressed with this man. Very impressed with his staff, as well. They make his office flow.
Gerry Allyn: Dr Bell and his staff are great. Very compassionate and personal. Takes great interest in your condition. Takes time to listen and answers all your questions. He was very knowledgeable on my condition. Great to have been referred to Dr Bell
James Mullins: Dr Bell and his staff are terrific, timely, compassionate and I feel every visit is just awesome. That is a rarity in many offices. He listens he cares, thank you for having such an amazing place to come to.
Rosa Brown: Dr. Bell is very good. I have been seeing him for several years.
Carri Weaver: Trying to get Dr Bell to give a diagnosis , let alone look at his messages is a nightmare ! He Told me to use my chart at my first and only visit with him and I have used that for a year never getting a response without calling the office three or four times and asking for the nurse. I recently was starting to have more Symptoms, so I messaged him with those symptoms and pictures that he had asked for of rashes etc. It’s been 10 days since I had my blood work done and I still don’t know If he has received or read them. I left a lengthy message with the receptionist who copied my chart messages and pictures and sent Them to him urgent. He replied with smart Elic reremarks about how long I waited after the bloodwork is ordered before I got it, I was waiting for a flareup to hopefully make the test more accurate which he had told me was fine to do. He made sarcastic comments about why I hadn’t made an appointment if I was so sick, not even considering the Covid, quarantines, and for myself the death of my mother. It is time for him to retire he’s rude lazy and will not respond on my chart so don’t even try. I give credit As I am sure they get complaints daily about him daily , . kudos to his nurse and staff
Autumn Baker: Dr. Bell is an exceptional doctor. I am impressed with his attention and his bedside manner. My mother has been a patient of his for fifteen years and I have never witnessed a more thorough and attentive doctor. When my mother goes to his office, we never have to wait for more than a few minutes before we see him. He asks my mother many questions and actively listens to what she has to say. Even though she is elderly and with some trouble expressing herself, he takes the time to listen to what SHE has to say. THEN, if I want to add anything to what she has offered, he will listen to me. He takes as much time as is needed for the appointment. He never makes her/us feel rushed. He is concerned, caring and thorough.I have contacted him many times through mychart or over the phone and he has always made the effort to get back to me in a very reasonable amount of time.My mother’s rheumatoid arthritis is better than it has ever been thanks to Dr. Bell and his staff. He is everything one looks for in a practitioner. I wish there were more doctors that followed his lead. I cannot say enough good about him.
Adrienne LaBorwit: My husband has Lupus and we have seen a number of doctors for his condition. He has had several treatments including chemotherapy. Of all the doctors he has seen and been treated by, this was by far the worst experience we have ever had. He just kept repeating himself without actually listening to any questions and gave information in very high level medical terms vs. what a patient could understand. Terrible patient care and very arrogant. We will not return.
Nadine Short: Im writing in reguards to a visit my mother had with you today . She was very disappointed in her visit today . Let's start with the fact she has been waiting since 2015 to get into your office and she left there today with no more knowledge and / or treatment then she already had . She stated that you had her undress into a gown and that when you cunducted her visit you didn't have a nurse in the office . This made her feel very uncomfortable and not to mention leaves you open to the possibility of a lawsuit . In the 40 years of her treatment she has never had to undress Into a gown. Another thing she stated that there was a man on a TV taking notes it was not explained to her whom he was and or what his notes where about this also made her feel uncomfortable and made her feel embarrassed and ashamed. She stated that while going over her condition she felt as though you doubted the seriousness of condition and her knowledge of her disease . She stated she went over all the medication she had been on and what worked best for her beings gel zants . She stated you had to have your receptionist get all the information on the medication . Beings you specialize in this area you should already know this knowledge as well as it's side effects . She stated that she didn't think you had even reviewed her file . She felt As though you where not even trying to build a dr. Patient relationship rather doubted her intelligence as well as her condition . She had been in your office for a number of hours which was very tiring for her beings her condition was so severe due to the fact she has had RA for over 40 years and is elderly . She ended up leaving your office before the X-ray results come back making another appointment which isn't till January . So basically this was all in all a wasted visit that just upset her and not even a sample package was given to help prevent these flare ups in her RA . Please treat my MOTHER with better care when she comes back ! I DO NOT LIKE SEEING HER CRY thank you !!!

Rheumatology, Arthritis & Immunology Clinic, Dr. Moges Sisay: what do users think?
Timothy Doerr, Jr: Office clerk is very great to work with and she is sweet. However, this doctor should not be allowed to treat. I seen this man for the first time in March of 2022. Once more between April and May of 2022 and my third and final time was June of 2022. Only 3 times. Was referred to him from my neurologist because I have unexplained joint pain. No markers in my blood work or X-rays demonstrate or diagnose me with anything. But I'm in lots of pain nonetheless..Dr. Sesays answer was one med to help with my joint pain (plaquenil) and steroids. When the joint med wasn't working, he gave me another cycle of steroids. Meds still not working, a third cycle of steroid. Then he asks how I'm doing I say "no improvement". He drops me as a patient right then and there. No more trying to use his medical degree to help solve what's wrong. His only remark " I don't wanna hold you back". His only solution was to blindly send me to Indianapolis. I had to negotiate with him to get me another referral locally. This man isn't a good doctor. He doesn't care about the patients well being and if you're gonna be a challenge to treat he wants nothing to do with you. Listen to these reviews! There is a reason why is rated so low on here.
Kathryn Cozza: Have always enjoyed the staff and Dr. Sisay!!! Explains things in common words and asks lots of question so he can get the big picture.
Kim Avery: My husband and mom seen Dr Sissy for many years. We liked him a lot and recommended him to many people. Couple years ago my husband got very sick, lost 30 lbs couldn't eat cause he had sores in his mouth. No Dr could figure out what was wrong with him. I searched mouth sores on Google and found a picture that was exactly what my husband's looked like, it said Methotrexate toxicity. I freaked out cause this is a medicine Dr Sissy had him on for several years. I immediately called his office and they wanted him to come straight in. Dr Sissy asked my husband if he was still taking his folic acid? We said Nobody told us he needed to. Dr Sissy stopped the methotrexate and prescribed him folic acid. If I hadn't found this on Google he would have died! Also he knew all my husband siblings were diabetic.. He did routine blood work and told my husband he would check him for diabetes.. If he had it he would call us.. Never received a call.. One day he asked my husband How is your diabetes doing? 😳 So needless to say we were upset about this too. After the appt about the methotrexate and his lack of prescribing folic acid over the past 7 years he moved my husband's appts out to 6 months.. Then before that appt we received a letter in the mail that he needed to find another Dr. This is a horrible thing to do especially after almost killing him. I do not recommend him to anyone anymore
Wendy Sutrick: Most horrible and down right mean! If i got started on ALL the reasons the man should not be a doctor, i would be here for days writing! If you are a new RA person looking for a doctor, please steer clear of this man, don't be fooled by all the religious stuff he pumps out, he is far from treating people the way a true God loving man would treat people he is suppose to be caring for!
Ang Williams: I can't wait to get into the other Dr in owensboro. I've been seeing Sisay and he hasn't helped me at all, he won't tell me what's wrong with me, answer any of my questions, he acts like he's above me he has no bedside manners, I'm getting worse but he doesn't seem to be getting to the bottom of my my problem.
Susan Campbell: Dr Sisay has been nothing but respectful and professional. He is thorough with exams, listens and has been very knowledgeable in his diagnosis and treatment I would highly recommend this doctor!
Mackenzie Houston: What a joke. Should not be able to practice medicine and the people working for him are rude.
M. Smith: Dr Sisay is very RUDE! Doesn't like if you question anything. That's what patients do, ask questions! Only gave 1 star so was able to leave my comment! Interrupted me when I tried to ask a question, then got very disrespectful and wanted me to leave! Real professional Dr. Sisay!
Bret Curran: I was very apprehensive starting a 3rd doctor in 5 months. Also, concerning the previous reviews Dr. Sisay received. Dr. Sisay was GREAT! He was very thorough and explained everything. He listened to everything I had to say. A very good and knowledgeable doctor. I have nothing negative to say about him!
Alex Mills: My experience with this office was the absolute worst. I’ve never met a more inconsiderate doctor and complicated staff. I went in for two separate visits with Dr. Sisay and after the first one, he sent me to get X-rays and told me that I’d get a call within the next two days to tell me my results (my X-ray would determine if I needed a sling for my arm or not). I never received a call from his office. That week, I called each day for 4 days straight during business hours and no one ever picked up. I followed the voicemail prompt and never received a call back either. When I asked the receptionist about this at my second visit, she said “huh that’s weird.” Dr. Sisay himself is an awful doctor. He read me my blood work and told me that my results meant I had a thyroid disease and that I would be sent to an endocrinologist. When I asked him basic questions regarding that, he replied every time with “that will be something he will answer for you.” What?! I was asking him things like “Does that mean I won’t be coming back here? What is Graves’ disease? How high were those thyroid levels?” He told me to leave and grab a print out from the nurse on my way out. Awful man and doctor. I hope he stops practicing.
crystalmarcum99: I have been going here over a year and absolutely love the staff and Dr. Sisay. He is always kind and very thorough. He listens to me and takes the time to explain what is going on and they always call right away with any lab results that are off and he goes over them again in the office to make sure I’m aware of what is going on. He is always very informative and he was the first person to be able to diagnose me after 2 years of tests and other drs. At the end of every visit he always asks me if I have any more questions. He is an excellent Dr and I’m grateful to have him as my rheumatologist. There is never other people waiting to go in before me. I always get right in and don’t have to wait long at all. I can’t stress enough just how kind all of the staff were.
Marilyn Banks: I have seen Dr. Sisay on two separate occasions. The first time was when he was in the office with my first choice. The wait was too long for this rheumatologist so I was given to Dr. Sisay. I did not care for Dr. Sisay at that time but continued treatment with him for approximately 1 year until I located another rheumatologist. Dr. Sisay has no bedside manner. His accent is very thick and hard to understand. He was hesitant to explain my newly diagnosed illness. Not only was he not forthcoming with information but i couldnt understand a word he said due to his heavy accent. If i questioned him he would become irritated and he had an awful attitude. My second encounter with Dr. Sisay was approx. 20 years later. My rheumatologist I had seen since my first encounter with Dr. Sisay retired and I needed to see someone quickly as I was preparing for surgery and a release was needed from a rheumatologist. Dr. Sisay was the only one I could get into quickly. I felt surely after all the years that had passed things would be better. Same thing. Very condescending, rude, hesitant to share my lab results and accent had not improved any. I would steer clear of this rheumatologist.
Lisa Lucas: Not a pleasant man, not a good bed side manner. He told me he would no longer see me because I had to cancel a few times because my husband has cancer and sickness, chemo and surgeries kept me from being able to keep them. He was not sympathetic at all. If that was the policy they should have told me that when rescheduling the appointment.
Beverly: I, like some of the other people, am only giving 1 star only because his staff is nice.As for this man (and i cant even make myelf call him a dr) is horrible. My 1st visit with him was ok. He took a few minutes with me. The 2nd visit was really bad. He gave me results of labwork, and just walked out of the room leaving me sitting there. The nurse came in and i told her i had no idea what just happened. I had a 6 mon follow up and i went. It was a terrible experience. I ask him to run the vectra test once again and he refused. He told me to quit arguing with him (which i wasnt) and that he would ask me to leave the room. I said ok, but i wanted to know why he wouldnt run the vectra test. He did not give me a good explanation and pretty much threw me out of his office. What kind of dr does that?? He has bible's in the waiting room and a box for prayers. I should have put his name in there because he certainly needs them. I did not ask for prayer for myself because i dont want the devil praying for me!!Think twice about going to this man!
Stacy Piker: New patient, seen Dr. Sisay on 6/24/19. Very thorough. Addressed every diagnosis both past and present, went over medication extensively. Did a thorough physical examination. Performed labs right there in clinic. Confirmed suspected diagnosis of MCTD with a current lupus flare. Bedside manner was spot on. Staff was very courteous and attentive. I would highly recommend Dr. Sisay to anyone going through what I am. A truly amazing physician with a knowledge of what I am enduring with my autoimmune disease. I don't know what these other negative reviews are about, honestly.
sandage1DiamondGirl: I was very impressed with Dr. and lab tec lady.Dr Sisay took time to listen to me. Explained the different types of arthritis and what symptoms. He was kind enough to ask me twice if I had any questions. Wow, twice!! I really, really like the whole office.
Danielle Hall: This man has absolutely NO bedside manner, awful with patients and treats people terribly. If you value personal care or peace of mind with your health, go somewhere else. This man has absolutely zero concern for his patients. He has kicked patients out of his office for asking questions about their health. He needs his license revoked and to take the recording off of his phone that claims he cares about his patients wellbeing. There have been TWO family members of mine who have left bawling their eyes out because of the lack of humility this man has.
T Fisher: Several years ago, I went to this DR Sisay. He has no bedside manner and had me in tears, he was so rude. He hadn't looked at any of my information prior to my appointment. I do not recommend this doctor at all. I suggest going to a nice and thorough Dr. named Dr. Rhim Kim located at 3801 Bellemede 3rd Floor with St. Vincent Rheumatology. I give Sisay a 1 star because there was at least one nice staff that was there. I will never go back to Sisay. He has NO COMPASSION, or he didn't for me at least. I suggest be kind to yourself and pick another one instead of him. I felt so uncomfortable and emotional and even left crying.
Tiffany Rister: The staff and nurses were very kind. The doctor was hateful and very rude. His temper is very unprofessional and he seems to think he is a mind reader and can tell you how your feeling. I was in tears on my first visit and my second visit was even worse. I would never recommend this doctor. Hes not worth the one star rating.
Amber Fowler: The staff was amazing and the doctor was very caring
Johnilynn Quinn: Dr. Sisay confirmed my diagnosis of Fibromyalgia but he put inaccurate information in my medical records. As a former ICU RN, I asked him to correct his mistakes. Dr. Sisay was visibly angry that I had showed him his mistakes and refused to correct anything that I had showed him. He also told me that when Lyrica made me to drowsy that there was nothing more that he could do for me. He said on the last 2 visits that he would just refer me to IU Rheumatology because my case was just too much for him to try to figure out. His nurse, Kathy is exceptionally lazy. I asked her on my last visit if she had contacted IU Rheumatology as Dr. Sisay had ordered during my last visit. She said that she had contacted them. I called IU Rheumatology 39 days after I was told by Kathy that she had sent the referral because I had gone by the office to get my medical records and asked about it. Kathy told me that she didn't know what happened with the referral but maybe it would be better if I had my PCP make the referral instead. I told her to do her job (politely!) as I said, "No, I think it would be better if it came from Dr. Sisay's office where he, the Rheumatologist had originally made the referral. What is worse is his receptionist, KRISTY BEVINS WAS HATEFUL, RUDE, HURTFUL, AND DISRESPECTFUL!!! I ASKED HOW MUCH THE RECORDS WOULD BE AS WE HAVE HAD A DIFFICULT TIME SINCE LOSING MY CAREER AS AN ICU RN BECAUSE A PATIENT INJURED MY SPINE 3 1/2 YEARS AGO. SHE TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE $15.00 AND ASKED IF I WOULD BE PAYING FOR THEM. I TOLD HER THAT WE HAD BEEN HAVING A HARD TIME BUT..THAT IS WHERE SHE CUT ME OFF, SHE SAID," I KNOW, I KNOW, I HEARD IT ALL BEFORE, I KNOW YOUR STORY!" IT TOOK EVERYTHING WITHIN ME TO CONTINUE TO BE POLITE. I GOT MY 9 PAGES OF RECORDS (FOR $15.00) AND LEFT. ONCE I GOT HOME AND LOOKED AT THEM, I NOTICED SHE DIDN'T GIVE ME ALL OF WHAT I REQUESTED. I WENT BACK AND ASKED KRISTY FOR MY RECORDS. AFTERWARD, I TOLD HER THAT I DIDN'T LIKE HOW SHE HAD TREATED ME, KRISTY BEVINS' SAID, "SO." I TOLD HER THAT SHE SHOULDN'T BE HATEFUL TO PEOPLE IN HER LINE OF WORK AND THAT WHEN I TOOK CARE OF PATIENTS, I WOULD HAVE NEVER DREAMED OF TREATING SOMEONE IN SUCH A DISRESPECTFUL AND HURTFUL MANNER. KRISTY BEVINS REPLIED," WELL, YOU COME IN HERE TELLING ME HOW HARD IT'S BEEN FOR YOU BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR YOUR RECORDS AND I'VE HEARD YOUR SAD STORY BEFORE SO I DON'T NEED TO HEAR IT AGAIN. I ALREADY KNOW ALL ABOUT IT!" I TOLD HER THAT I HAD PLANNED ON PAYING FOR MY RECORDS AND DID SO, IT WAS THAT TIMES WERE TOUGH AND THAT SHE SHOULD ALWAYS SHOW KINDNESS AND COMPASSION (THEIR OFFICE IS FULL-I MEAN FULL OF CHRISTIAN PARAPHERNALIA LIKE BIBLES, PRAYER BOXES, SCRIPTURE WRITTEN ON THE WHITE BOARD IN THE LOBBY AND HALLWAY, AND MANY CROSSES AND BIBLICAL THEMED ITEMS SCATTERED ABOUT...AND THEIR VOICE RECORDING STATES THAT THEY ARE A CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATION THAT SERVES GOD BY SHOWING KINDNESS AND COMPASSION...SOMEONE SHOULD MAYBE LET THEM IN ON THE WORD HYPOCRITE.) KRISTY BEVINS THEN TOOK A STEP BACK AND SARCASTICALLY SAID, "I'M SORRY'" IT WAS SO OBVIOUS THAT SHE WAS BEING SPITEFUL WHEN SAYING IT. I TRIED TO CALL DR. SISAY'S OFFICE MANAGER, LEANNE ON 13, FEBRUARY, 2018. I LEFT AN URGENT MESSAGE TO RETURN MY CALL. I JUST LEFT MY SECOND URGENT MESSAGE TO CALL ME AGAIN BECAUSE LEANNE NEVER RETURNED MY CALL AND TODAY IS 20, FEBRUARY, 2018. I DID GO TO IU MEDICAL CENTER RHEUMATOLOGY AND RECEIVED A GENUINELY THOROUGH EXAM FROM DR. GOLDA JAMES. DR. JAMES IS WHAT A REAL PHYSICIAN SHOULD BE. SHE IS THOROUGH AND SO POLITE. YOU CAN TELL SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE IS DOING, NOT LIKE DR. SISAY. WHO IS ONLY GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE HE LITERALLY SPENT LESS THAN 0.5 SECONDS EVERY TIME HE TOUCHED HIS STETHOSCOPE TO MY CHEST. AS AN ICU RN, I KNOW HE DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO HEAR ANYTHING, AS A MATTER OF FACT, I TESTED HIM. I HELD MY BREATH THE LAST TWO TIMES TO SEE IF HE WOULD CATCH ON WHEN HE WENT THROUGH THE MOTIONS...BTW, HE DIDN'T CATCH ON.

Kamal M. El Ramahi, MD: what do users think?
Mo E: I love and miss you, Doc!
Sam L.: I appreciate Dr. Kamal El Ramahi's thoroughness, friendliness and pleasant personality. His expertise is top-quality. He is very intellectual and has a calming way of explaining difficult details. Thank you for being an exceptional physician, Dr. Kamal El Ramahi!
Julie H.: Excellent physician! Dr. Kamal El Ramahi’s attention to detail and calm, professional manner is exceptional. His thoroughness saved my life by ordering the tests that ultimately led to my diagnosis and effective treatment. He managed my treatment plan with compassion and patience, and willingness to answer any questions my family and I had.
Don Huber: I had a bout of what was diagnosed as acute polyarticulate arthritis that put me in the hospital for several days and the into rehab. Dr El Ramahi was consulted to rule out any type of rheumatoid arthritis, which he did . When I had my final visit with him to get the test results he told me the test results were negative, but that I did have a virus that I was told was cured 4 years earlier. I told him I was supposed to be cured and he said whoever told me that was wrong and that he was absolutely sure the virus was active and that I needed a test to tell me how bad the infection is. I had the test($1700) to find out that he was wrong and I no longer have the virus. Now because of his incompetence I am arguing over a large bill for lab work that was totally unnecessary. Did I mention how rude he got when I suggested he might be wrong?
