4worldlovers: Clinical treatment programs to help ex-offenders become productive members of the community.

Maud Booth, co-founder of Volunteers of America, was a national leader and pioneer in the prison reform movement. She opened and operated the first halfway houses in the country in the late 1800s. We continue to see the importance of these programs for the formerly incarcerated and the community and provide evidence-based residential treatment programs for ex-offenders.

Our programs serve formerly incarcerated individuals, some of who are eligible for early release from prison due to judicial release, and/or have substance abuse issues in the Cincinnati, Dayton, Evansville, Indianapolis, Mansfield and Toledo areas. Case managers and residents create an individualized program plan to address their specific needs. Client progress is routinely assessed to ensure a positive outcome by the end of the program.

Programs are audited annually by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) and the Indiana Department of Corrections (IDOC). Every two years, our programs in Ohio are certified by the Ohio Department of mental Health and Addiction Services (OMHAS) and our programs in Indiana are certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). And, every three years, our programs are audited by the America Correctional Association (ACA). In Ohio, our programs earned a 100% compliance rating in 2012.

Hope Hall is a 100 bed residential reentry center for previously incarcerated men and women in Evansville. Residents are required to maintain employment and follow court orders/restrictions. They must also address applicable individual programming goals such as mental health and addiction treatment, educational needs and life skills development.

Brandon Hall is a 95 bed work-release center for previously incarcerated men and women. Referrals are received from the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Residents are required to maintain employment and follow court orders/restrictions. They must also address applicable individual programming goals such as mental health and addiction treatment, anger management and life skills development. Family reunification services and substance abuse classes are offered to residents.

4worldlovers: Meals on Wheels of Evansville serves a wide range of people, from the young person hurt on the job, to the middle-aged recovering from surgery, to the elderly, who have special needs. It is the only program in the city that accepts people of any age. Clients are both short-term and long-term.

Nutritionally appropriate diets are available according to the physician's order on the client's application. The meals are prepared under the supervision of the dietitians at Deaconess Hospital and Ascension St. Vincent Hospital.

Since 1995, Little Lambs has helped safeguard the health and well-being of our youngest and most vulnerable citizens, infants and young children. Little Lambs has accomplished this indirectly, but effectively, by creating alliances with professional organizations that provide prenatal and pediatric care, behavioral services, nutrition, drug and alcohol education and rehabilitation, and more. When parents obtain services from partnering organizations, they are rewarded for positive acts on behalf of their children with vouchers that they can be traded for baby and child items offered through the Little Lambs store, located inside the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Evansville. The store carries car seats, pack n plays, strollers, safety gates, diapers, breastfeeding supplies, baby bottles, sippy cups, clothing, and more. Little Lambs is also a Child Passenger Safety Inspection Station and offers a Safe Sleep Program.
