avianna abell: Well for starters we sadly didn’t get the cake we wanted we. Went in to show them what we wanted and the owner drew out a replica of what the cake would look like. Then we went to pick it up it had Absolutely nothing we asked for on it. We had to pay $100 up front and when we picked it up it was not the cake she drew no flowers it was One tear no macaroons not sparkly rose gold like we asked. Nothing like we asked in my opinion paid too much for a cake that didn’t have what we wanted.Customers always right guess not with this establishment

Sofia Pikalova: Requested an “under the sea” cake for my son’s first birthday. I showed that picture (of the boy), and asked for something more elaborate. The lady whom took the order wrote a lot of notes and I hoped it would be more elaborate than it turned out.I did ask for the least sweet cake, which was vanilla. The icing was still SOO sweet, couldn’t even finish eating a slice. The Vanilla cake inside was as expected, but the icing was too overwhelming.Unfortunately, when I brought it home, this ended up being a overly expensive $40 vanilla cake, nothing too special.

Gayla Cakes is affordable for most budgets. The staff is courteous and you are greeted at the door. This establishment is a local gem. I can't say enough about them and their business. The cakes, cupcakes, and more are absolutely wonderful. I have tasted everything but their regular cakes, which I imagine to be just as wonderful. I usually get their cupcakes. The owner is personable and delightful. She works hard to keep her business afloat as small businesses are struggling right now. I will always support and patronize this establishment. I wish good things for them. This is why it is important to support your local businesses. If you have a sweet tooth and are in the local Evansville area; please consider marking this on your list of things to try. You won't be disappointed.

I don't like driving out of my way to get there to find out that they have 9:00am as their opening time on their website and its on the window open. But they don't open until 10 unless you have an order. So that's why I'm taking a star off. Change your website so your customers don't waste their gas and time.

They were very helpful with the options and details, and ordering and pickup were easy. I sent a picture of the baptism invitation, and they created a design to coordinate beautifully. After the excellent experience with a precious baptism reception cake, we knew we’d return to GaylaCake for our next celebration, a second baptism reception. Again, ordering was easy, and they were timely and responsive to questions and details about the cake. We sent the invitation for design inspiration and they created a beautiful coordinating cake design. We ordered late and they were able to deliver with a short turnaround time. The cake flavor was outstanding. We ordered more cake this time, and still none was leftover. We continue to be so pleased with our GaylaCakes.

They're all freshly made And man are they good! I believe one day I walked away with seven of their massive pastries for $7. If I was at Panera bread and walked away with seven things, it would probably be $70. And this place makes them much better than Panera ever could.

Jerry Hart: If you haven't tried Mexican backed goods, your in for a treat. They are not sickingly sweet like American goodies but delicious. The empanadas and cream horns are a must. The brown pig cookie is fantastic. Good variety and reasonably priced. Nice friendly owners. Like going across the border, without the drive.

Kallie Gambill: I'm giving this a four based on the fact this is as close to authentic bakery for Latina food that you're going to find anywhere around here. The lady who helped me was super sweet. They have empanadas with almost every fruit, pan dulces, conchas, and tres leche. My favorite is the pan dulce creme horn--pictured below. I love Bavarian creme, though. Prices were moderate--aprox $1.50 an item.
