O M: Nice experience. I will say, I find it odd that to be an outfitter shop of nature lovers, the customer service wasn't very friendly like usual places. Not rude either, just kind of cold and seemingly uninterested in answering questions or giving any helpful information.

Bella puga: We had booked 2 hours to go kayaking and the weather said it really wouldn’t rain and on the small chance it did It would just be a drizzle(even up to 12hours before) but about 30 minutes into our kayaking it started pouring and I mean downpour so we found a bridge to get underneath and called the shop. We asked if we could just get an hour the next day or even later when it’s not pouring and they told us to come back to the building to talk to the manager so we rowed back only to be told that we couldn’t do get an hour moved for the unexpected rain and couldn’t go back on since we got off even though they were the ones who told us to come back. If they had told us on the phone we couldn’t get the time then we would’ve simply stayed out hanging out on the river under the bridge but that wasn’t the case. Not coming back considering Fort Wayne weather can be sketchy not worth it. Their reason is it’s difficult to prep the kayak to go back out which frankly isn’t true easily done so if I’m choosing not to go back. Would be amazing on a nice day but we got unlucky and got unexpected rain and no help.

Fred Flynn: The company shamelessly requires tells every new customer that an email verification is required to complete the legal liability waiver. That is a disappointing manipulation just to confirm an email for future marketing purposes and potentially selling your email as a validated marketing tool. The liability waiver is understandably necessary, but all the personal information they require plus the signature is more than enough to complete the waiver, yet they tell the consumer we must confirm the email as well, which is simply not true.Otherwise, the kayaks are very good and the people working the location are kind. It is unfortunate that whoever is running the business side of it is overreaching on data gathering.

Bradan Taylor: Make your reservation online before arriving.They have a nice launching ramp to put into the water without having to get wet. The river was nice and enjoyable. Would definitely come back again.

From finding the right bikes for our riding style to the rack for the back of our SUV. Tim & Maggie walked us through all the minor details of our new bikes and accessories. Left feeling confident and excited for the adventure that awaits! Looking forward to our next visit to the shop.

Catherine Martin: I had a great rental experience at the Outfitters today. I hadn't used their online system before, but it was super easy and convenient. No paperwork at all when I got there, just a quick check-in with some very friendly and polite kids who got me in a kayak and on my way in no time! There were a ton of other paddlers and party boats on the water, so I would suggest going on a weekday if your schedule permits. I like it a bit quieter...but it's nice to see so many people enjoying Promenade Park and the rivers.

Very helpful and provided lots of information for me, which was very valuable since it was my first time kayaking. They have a nice water ramp to get in and out of the water from a dock very easily with your kayak or canoe.

John Foxworthy: BUYER BEWARE—Booking online and being required to pay in full up-front should have been the first red flag. When our previous plans went a little long, we ran late to our reservation. When we called in to let them know, we were told that “the clock is running now and we are booked solid all night” so they kept our money and we didn’t even go. I’m sure they make a lot of money from people who pay up-front and end up not being able to make it on time. The lady on the phone was rude and not helpful at all. No offer to reschedule, no attempt to make the situation better or offer any alternatives. Basically, we were just out of luck and they were keeping over $100 of our money. Too bad so sad for us. Absolutely terrible customer service.

Bennynv 84: Had a great time and the staff were wonderful. My only complaint is that you don’t end up getting the time you pay for after they explain the rules and everything. We got like 45 minutes when we paid for an hour. My recommendation is to have a bay designated to rules and demonstrations so you can start on time

Michelle Purcell (March): Had a blast. Jennifer was a wonderful host and made excellent drinks. Antoine was informative and fun teacher who helped me whenever I had problems throwing the ax. There is currently no food menu but was informed this is a work in progress. We were a walk in and since they weren't busy they let us stay another hour. Walk ins beware, they take reservations first so you may end up waiting. It's the first time I'd gone out in months and hubby and I had a wonderful time!

Took 2 days to call me back in which the owner, Jennifer, and the employee, Antwon (sp?), that answered after she hung up on me had an attitude before I even stated why I called. I have worked in customer service for years and I was absolutely appalled. If you look at Yelp reviews, it seems others have had the same experience with the owner and the employees.The tone of voice the owner used was unacceptable and she kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain that there was no communication on the website where you purchase gift cards or the gift card confirmation email that gift cards expired. They did not have it in the FAQ section when I purchased the gift card like she stated either. My mom went in a year ago and they turned her away because she did not make a reservation, they told her that the gift cards do not expire. The owner was gaslighting me stating they had a "policy" but they did not at the time of purchase and/or created it last year. The respectable thing to do would be to honor the giftcard that I paid $60 for which at the time covered the cost for 2 people and a couple drinks, now it would only cover part of the cost for 2 people to go axe throwing.If you want to do axe throwing, go to Combat Ops, I at least know the owner and employees there are respectable.Edit: In response to the owner's response below, that was after she started to interrupt me every word and continously get rude. I rarely ever get to that point when I call. I hope her response shows her immaturity in the situation. I did drop the F bomb ONCE after she kept gaslighting me, but it was not AT her, it was in expression of my frustration at her lack of understanding and flexibility. She has exaggerated below so that when you read my review I look like the bad guy and she can save face. I apologized right after but she hung up anyways. She created a self-fulfilling prophecy as she was looking for a reason to hang up on me.Seems that the owner claims that if a customer is upset and leaves a negative review, the customer is "demanding" if you look at other reviews. The owner keeps editing her post as well and all I will say is she will never have my business with the way she has acted and responded to me or lack thereof as she never answered my email or called me back. There was not a policy on the gift cards at the time of purchase and she is claiming there is an expiration now. The right thing to do for customer service is to honor it but she claims she is a small business which is why she is validated to steal my money.
