Caribbean Mountain Academy: what do users think?
ViperDrive2115: It's okay military school is fine it helps a lot of kids in need and helps a lot of kids aim for their goals and just overall good school
Hunter Starnes: The CMA is not associated with the abuse that had been going on under Escuela Caribe, the abusive boarding school in the Kidnapped For Christ documentary. Our stay was pleasant and the campus is beautiful and well kept and the staff and students were very friendly.
Elbert: You better not abuse those kids, again.
Esteban: Do not send your children here. Here’s an excerpt from Newsweek explaining CMA’s connection to Escuela Caribe, the abusive boarding school in the Kidnapped For Christ documentary:“ In 2011, Escuela Caribe and New Horizons closed, transferring the property to another Christian ministry called Crosswinds, which reopened the school under the name Caribbean Mountain Academy. At least five staff members from Escuela Caribe remained employed at the school after the transition, though Mark Terrell, the CEO of Crosswinds, tells Newsweek they have all since moved on to different jobs. He maintains that they were vetted extensively before allowing to remain. "I don't really care what anybody thinks. I think they're good people."”As you can see from Mark Terrell’s attitude, he wants to put abusers first before the actual children. Do not send your children here. They do not try hard enough to mitigate abuse and it shows.
Gina C: 5 years ago my parents were in desperation of getting my younger brother help. They had tried a couple different places in Illinois their home state and they were all way to expensive and weren't helping. We lived in Chicago where you are surrounded by bad influences. He was out of control doing drugs, ditching school, stealing from my family to buy drugs, and was an angry person we didn't know. It was tearing our family apart and that's when I decided to jump in and found this place. It was hard but it was so affordable and based on the reviews my parents went for it willing to try anything. Of coarse my brother refused to go so we had to have him "taken" by two guys to bring him down. He hated us when he left but when he came back he loved us and appreciated it.He came back a different person. He had much appreciation for life. He had built relationships with the counselors and was keeping in contact with them even after he left. It was a beautiful place where he could take a break from the mad world back in the city and see life from a different perspective. See how fortunate he was and help people who lived in poverty. Learn that rewards do come out of working and finding pleasure in life while sober. Nothing was forced, it was a stepping program and you had to take the steps on your own and work your way up and out or even extra perks like outings The staff would take them hiking to scenic places with awesome waterfall. I could tell he really valued the trust and bonds he had made over time with the staff. My parents got to go visit him and stay in a lovely little guest house they had. Take a day with him to enjoy life. After every where my parents sent him this was the BEST and this WORKED. Unfortunately he came home when he was 18 and only got 8 months out of it. I think if he had stayed there longer and finished the program which he could've willing, he would've stayed stronger. He came home and stayed sober said he never wanted to do drugs again. He kept in contact with peers and counselors. Time passed and living in the city crept back up on him and he turned back to smoking pot. He never stole again though and he never used pills again. He has faith in God and I hear it from him. He says he's blessed all the time. Yea it might not have been a perfect ending but you know what he values life more than he did, he has pride in working and earning and no longer steals and and has kicked most of the bad and to me that's good.
Anna Samuel: Horrible school absolute abuse I watched the documentary about this school and it was horrible . The reviews are probably from parents who think it’s okay to abuse there child. I never went here but the documentary is so disturbing I really hope this place gets shut down
Abie Elias: 👎🏾 👎🏾 Nahhh, Too much favoritism
c s: i just have recently graduated CMA in July and i would honestly say that this place has changed my life in so many ways and has impacted it too. i’m not saying CMA is perfect. staff are not perfect. students obviously aren’t perfect. but every place is going to have things that aren’t the best. yes, the staff can get irritated, upset, sad, all of it, but the good from CMA outweighs the bad. i was there for a good bit but that’s because i am extremely stubborn. CMA staff never gave up on me during my stay there. i hit the bottom at one point there and felt like i would never be able to graduate but i made it. staff would of course get annoyed with me because i could be a lot... but they never let our relationship end. i never built relationships before i arrived at CMA. i told myself i would never be vulnerable with anyone no matter what but i ended up trying for once (my choice, CMA doesn’t “brainwash” or force anyone to do anything) and it was rough and scary but the staff listened to my story and everything. before i came to CMA i went through a few counselors that lasted for around 2 weeks sometimes so i also thought i would never actually do counseling again. when i first came to CMA my counselor had a rough time having me as her patient. i didn’t say anything. i was no where near nice to her. i was cold to her and the thought of counseling. like i said, CMA doesn’t force anyone to do anything. students typically begin to realize they need help and test out the idea of trying. that’s what i did. CMA has a large group that will support all students as much as they can. they care for all students, AND it shows!! i thought i was helpless and worthless, CMA helped me realize i am worth something and i can achieve so much. i still have struggles after leaving the program but overall i have grown and learned coping skills and have formed relationships that will forever last with staff and some students. no place is perfect but i would recommend Caribbean Mountain Academy for any teenage individual who struggles or even just needs somewhere to go. staff are always open to criticizm so if a student feels something is "off" they can talk to them and the staff usually try to work on it. trust me i talked to staff about a lot of things i didnt like and they listened and tried their best to do things different in their control. i appreciated this place and my experiences their.
Darren Smith: This was the perfect place for my daughter. After looking at multiple therapeutic boarding schools, we decided on CMA because of their overall approach to helping our daughter. From helping her process her emotions to serving in the community to the cross cultural experience, it was a great fit for her. The best thing about CMA are the people. They loved my daughter so well. It is very relational and I believe this is one of their greatest strengths. I would highly recommend them.

Lutheran South Unity School: what do users think?
brady bubb: LSUS truly loves their students and works very hard to provide them with the things they need for the level that they are at.My oldest son is very bright. After attending LSUS, he took the placement test for his private high school, he tested as fourth highest in the incoming freshman class and recieved a scholarship for high school. He is now on a full ride for academics at an Ivy-level college on the eadt foadt. Obviously, LSUS prepared him well for him for highschool and gave him the foundation to build off of for long-term academic success. My youngest daughter currently attends LSUS. She needs more assistance, and she gets it. LSUS bends over backwards to get every child what s/he needs. She is loved and supported beyond any possible expectation that one could have for a school and I am very grateful to LSUS for the work that they do and for the sincere love and level of caring that they show to their students. If you want for your child to go to a school where s/he is loved and where you can be confident that every measure will be taken and no stone will be left unturned when it comes to her/his care and education, look no farther than LSUS.

Virginia Victoria Washington: My experience with Lutheran South Unity School was when I attended a Unity School & Holy Cross basketball game on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 and the coach of Unity had two to three players benched for the entire game while the starter group of ball players ran the entire game without rest or a fresh player in the game.Parents were complaining about the loss of the game and the mismanagement by the coach. One player was visibly seen saying that he was tired in the 3rd quarter but the Coach told him to stay in the game and keep his head up! What?! Why did he not use the two players on the bench who had sat there for the entire game? Why didn't he give the starter 5 students a break to rest and use those two rested players. One of the young players on the bench was so upset that he was sat on the bench watching his team lose the game and did not play once! I did not like what I experienced at this Unity basketball game as a visiting guest. I did not enjoy seeing a young man crying and upset because the coach would not let him play during the entire game!Even though everyone could see that the players on the floor was very tired! What was going on with that Coach?!My family and I will not attend another basketball game that Lutheran South Unity School is playing. It was no surprise that Unity lost that game. All the players were exhausted!

Emmanuel-St. Michael Lutheran School (Union Campus): what do users think?
Lisa O'Dell: Jacob Pennekamp leads this school with love and respect towards all. Christ is at the center of all they do, and they honor Him with their academic excellence. My daughters have learned more than I could have ever dreamed. As a teacher it was very difficult to choose a school for my children. Now they are in 7th and 5th grade and I am convinced this is the best school in the city. I highly recommend ESM!
Stephen Bornheimer (MrBornheimer): Four years ago I moved my family to teach at Emmanuel-St.Michael Lutheran School. ESM has shown itself to be an outstanding school family. My family has been continually blessed and is happy to call ESM our home! It is filled with amazing teachers, students, parents and administrators. I love coming to work everyday to teach and I believe Emmanuel-St.Michael Lutheran School to be an amazing place to raise up a child not only academically but spiritually as well!
Andrew J Shelton: One of the absolute best schools in town. My kids love it there. Incredibly dedicated teachers and staff. Couldn't ask for a better school!
Lydia Lynn: This is my school

Horizon Christian Academy: what do users think?
Visionary: I like it cuase its Christian but it's boring you bearly learn things
Lannna: Amazing
Alexandria Rose: I love it it is so good for kids who believe in the Lord and it goes all the way up to high school
Trey Stockman: I love this school. It has shaped me in the image of God.
Jeffrey Hecke: I have heard of mistreatment of students with no government regulation from students parents
Mary Bunch: I would give no stars if possible. My children went there for 2 years then I pulled them out after being attacked in the parking lot by another parent. Picking and dropping kids off is a mess no organization to it at all. Students have play time more than learning. By the time i pulled my children out one was in 3rd one was in 1st put them in fort wayne community and they were so behind the other students. While fwcs was learning double digits addition in 1st horizon just started teaching 1+1. Aweful school. If you want your children to learn send them somewhere else.
Jashauna Mccracken: It will make your child a Christian
LaShay Peterson: There bball is good and plus some of the teachers are good
Johanna Chapman: Over all I have been pleased the teachers are very helpful and informative, I love the fact that it is Christian based, and my children like their(5) SCHOOL
Maria White: The thing I like about this school is that it is based on Christian standards . I'm happy my children get to pray , and they get daily teachings about Christ, but the school is unorganized . The teachers are rude and disrespectful to the students . The school is not good on education . They literally learn nothing by the end of the year . 8th graders don't even know their multiplication table . High School doesn't even know how to write a thesis statement . Some of the seniors last year didn't even graduate . And half the teachers there don't even know how to teach , they have no experience whatsoever. Its very frustrating to know that my kids are not learning . And there is nothing I can do about it . My kids will leave this school the very chance they get. I will not tolerate this , and I will most definitely not just stand back and watch Horizon ruin my children's future . I'm not trying to embarrass this school or hurt anyone . I'm just simply stating facts and telling the truth .
Trevonn Bassett: Love it
bass man: I wouldn't send my dog there..... haaaa they don't teach....... you will get a certificate of completion like some did!!They will mess you totally up!......... no order or structure teacher bring baby's to school and let them just crawl around in class! Some staff tries to intimidate students!.... Worst then Keystone.......
