William C: So, I called Williams Auto and asked for a quote for rear brakes/calipers/rotor replacement. They told me $600.00 I called Summit Auto Care, and they quoted me their price of $800.00. I called Fair, and they quoted me $400.00 to $450.00 for rear brake pad and rotor replacement. The choice was easy! I took my car directly to the shop. I had a feeling that the calipers would need to be replaced so paying a little more for them to be replaced wouldn't be a big deal, so I thought... I was called with a follow up. The mechanic told me that it would cost $1200.00 to replace the rear brakes/rotors/calipers. I tried to understand why this price increased from $400.00-$450.00. Now, looking at the invoice, I noticed that even though the brakes, rotors, and calipers are in the very same location, placing each individual part on my car was charged an individual amount of labor. That increased the cost of my repair by a minimum of $200.00. I spoke with the owner about a price reduction and he told me that there was nothing he could do with the price because "Fair uses high quality parts." Either their sales associate needs to understand that she needs to communicate the labor plus parts to customers so they will not make the same mistake i have in choosing this establishment to have their vehicle serviced at, or the labor charge for brake jobs be charged FAIRLY. Fair is now a new 4 letter word in my vocabulary. I think they have gained enough of my money for a few lifetimes, and will never happen again.So, after a week, my brake light came on. I looked at the previous reviews and saw how a customer stated that her brake wore down in a short amount of time. I put two and two together. They apparently are not installing brakes correctly. Haley Milledge: If 0 stars was an option I would have used it. I went for a break inspection this morning. The guy drove it around the building then put it on a lift. Everything seemed okay because I’d never watched a break inspection before, but I know from watching multiple videos on YouTube that a standard break inspection involves removing the tires and looking at the calipers without the tire obstructing the view. This is when it got interesting, the gentleman came in and told me that my break calipers, pads (which were just replaced 8 days ago), rotors and break lines all needed replaced. The entire inspection was roughly 20 minutes. Me being a person who was always told make sure you get multiple opinions on anything that involves the safety of my life and those around me, I got not one, but two different opinions and estimates on my vehicle. Both of the other shops removed the tires and did the inspections without the tires on. Both other shops had the exact same opinion and estimate, that the break calipers, pads rotors, and lines were in perfect working condition with both other shops taking at minimum one hour to fully inspect the vehicle and finding those components had absolutely no issues. Both other shops clearly stated that there had been air in my break lines from the breaks being replaced ( that was my fault, not theirs. I want that to be very clear) I explained to them that I was pretty sure that air had been introduced in the line and that is what caused the issues. I just didn’t know the extent of the problems. They seemed like they didn’t give two cares in the world and I was very disappointed in the lack of empathy, and to be quite honest the rude ness of employees, another customer referred to my s/o as a douchebag because he stated “that we were going to try to find somewhere to do the work cheaper” this is commonly a phrase used when a person is in knowledge of a shop that can perform the work cheaper. The employee agreed with her and stated “seriously I can’t stand people like him people are so rude.” People will be rude when you are being rude to them and aren’t thoroughly explaining why you are charging $125 for a single part that I just looked up and it only costs $65. Will never go back or refer anyone to them.

jared shockey: My wife and I took our car in for an oil change/tire rotation. The morning of the appointment our tire pressure light came on, which seemed like good timing for where it was going. The oil change and tire rotation were the only things performed, to the letter. I worked in the mechanic business, from oil change summer jobs, to certified auto technician for around 15 years in total, I'm no longer in that business. I've literally done thousands of these services and never did I work for a place that doesn't bother to fill up your tire pressure to the correct levels, or top up your windshield washer fluid, nor would such a thing be acceptable at any place I've worked. The fluid I get, it's a small cost cutting measure, the tire pressure light glowing in your face is a much different matter. Along with these things, this place still subscribes to the 3 month/ 3000 mile archaic idea of oil change intervals. The oil is a synthetic blend, which is capable of much longer than 3000 miles ( the car recommends around 5000) and the idea that your oil just goes bad in the engine after 3 months is still baffling to me, why is this still a thing?Keeping with the archaic theme, the man who cashed us out made a very old fashioned, sexist comment to my wife, after I had "made her" pay for the service, to her car... Robert Wantz: In the process of removing my rear license plate on my Lexus I broke one of the two rusty screws holding the plate on. I then decided I needed help removing the remaining portion of the broken screw and thought of Meineke since it was nearby to my residence. I took it in, a technician looked at it, and we made an appointment. At the predetermined appointment time the service writer wrote the ticket up she said she was writing it up for an hour but if it was less I would be charged less. Occasionally I looked outside, where the mechanic was working on my car in the parking lot, and didn’t see much progress being made although I was a good seventy feet away. It started to rain but he was out there a bit and after a while he moved it inside to a bay that had been empty a while. (All along there were some bays that were empty from the time I arrived until I left). At that time I was within fifteen feet of him and could observe him closer. It appeared he removed the screw in about fifteen minutes. The remainder of his time there he disappeared where I couldn’t see him or he was trying to find a proper screw from the bunch he brought back. Eventually, when he was about completed, I noticed he had installed my license plate frame was BEHIND the plate. I informed him of this and he corrected it.Less than an hour after the job was started the service writer told me it was finished and I mentioned I should get the veterans discount (the license plate actually is a Navy Veteran plate). She then told me that’s only for parts and doesn’t apply in this case. I was then given the invoice and it was $163.84. $163.84 !!! I asked what their hourly costing rate and was told that was it.Incidentally, on the back of the single page receipt I was given is printed very lightly and illegibly printed statement of warranty (?) of some sort with printed framework around the border.I am EXTREMELY disappointed and will never return to Meineke and be sure to inform fiends.Service:General repairs maintenance

Oh well, I'm still getting a part that they had at a different location brought to them so might as well stick to it. As I'm driving my "repaired" vehicle, it was fine at first. But that evening my vehicle's reving goes far too high upon starting it and goes 20-35 MPH without even touching the gas! So it seems to me they did a shoddy, incorrect, and neglectful repair job. I took my car to another shop and they told me I needed back and front breaks quoted me over 1700 but couldn’t fit me in until the next day I needed to leave out of town that day so I went to Midas they were able to squeeze me in and also told me my breaks were basically new and I didn’t need either. I had an exhaust issue the other shop didn’t even tell me about and they were able to fix it in a couple of hours. My car is driving brand new and so fairly priced! Cody Williams: Took car for radiator replacement with a quote of $678. Was called and told the price would be nearly $900 to fix. Told them I was quoted far less, and the reluctantly agreed to do it for quoted price. Get a call a few hours later stating my coolant reservoir was "completely blown out and would not hold fluid." Then was told it would be a little over $300 to fix. I stated I could fix that myself. Picked up my truck, took it home and popped the hood. Coolant reservoir was completely full. Although, the fluid inside was obviously in bad shape. Fallowing morning my engine light came on for the first time since I got the truck, didn't even come on with bad radiator. Upon changing my oil, I noticed my oil pan bolt was extremely loose. After draining oil found that my engine oil had been drained down to half it's proper amount. Also a few new noises also popped up that same day. After reading reviews online I found that this location has a history of malicious Acts against customers that do not want to pay for extra work.

Thanks to my neighbor Dennis, I finally found one—Midas on Illinois Rd. just past the Jefferson Rd turnoff by Chevy’s Pizza. Yes, it took just a little bit longer than expected due to an unforeseen issue that unexpectedly arose, but from start to finish the Customer Service was FANTASTIC, and they communicated each step of the way, ALWAYS taking OWNERSHIP of every last detail…. And they were more than fairly priced!Bottom Line: If you want someone who you can truly trust, who is truly fair, go to Midas and see either Gary the Manager, or even any one of the Techs —You will be grateful that you did not waste your time going from place to place, as I myself did for several years since moving here. Miss J: I wasn’t going to leave a review because although my car repair service was not good the staff are all really nice.Nevertheless nice doesn’t fix cars.I brung my car up to Midas due to reduced engine power and my car was shaking and making knocking sounds. They did a diagnosis and told me I needed brakes and rotors (that will stop the shaking and knocking) as well as a throttle body injection to stop reduced engine power.Ok? So I declined rotors and brakes but asked will the throttle body stop my reduced engine power & the mechanic said “Yes.”Approximately 3 days later my reduced engine light came back on along with “service ESC, service Traction, and again Reduced Engine Power.”I bring the car back to the shop I am now told I need an accelerator paddle (and the mechanic said he didn’t know why they did my throttle body without doing accelerator paddle)which is an additional $346.35 (I’ve already paid $619.05 for throttle body injection.) I also got someone else to do the brakes and rotors like the mechanic said I needed well? The man that did my breaks and rotors said they were not in bad shape at all but if Midas said I needed it to stop my car from shaking and knocking then perhaps it should be done. My car never stopped shaking and knocking and my Reduced engine power along with additional issues are present! That’s not all… Once I was told I need an accelerator pedal I declined it bc I didn’t have the money after all I just spent over $800 for throttle body/brakes and rotors! So I leave and guess what? There’s a hole in my floor covered with a paper floor mat! 😡I call the manager to tell him my experience and all he can say is “I’m sorry they didn’t explain to you the first time all the work you needed and that I have the codes If you want to see them. They were trying to save me money thinking the throttle body would take care of the reduced engine.” What he didn’t know is I have my original diagnosis paper and a accelerator paddle code was not on there no mention of it but it was on my second estimate paper. So ladies and gentlemen I am out of over $800 going to Midas and I still have the exact issues I went in with and a hole in my floor!! I’ll never go back to them again I feel so robbed and taken advantage of.Service:Vehicle Inspection

Turns out I had 3 missing lugnuts on the front passenger tire (I won't mention the place that serviced my tires 3 weeks ago and apparently didn't tighten the lugnuts sufficiently). He put new lugnuts on and tightened them all. Said it was a good thing I stopped in! They were busy, so I really appreciated that he took care of the issue and got me in and out quickly.Service:Tires

Nick Voirol: I called around town looking for places to work on my manual transmission. They told me that they do work on transmissions. I dropped the car off and got a call a day later letting me know that there is something wrong with the transmission and they could not fix it. Then then billed me $180. Kody Jones: It’s difficult to go to this location. You have to make it through the front desk lady named Amy. She has got to be the rudest customer service person I’ve ever met. And it sucks because you can’t avoid her. You HAVE to talk to her. I’ve tried a couple different methods of speaking to her. Like being overly nice or just being regular nice or just being polite.
