Jordan White: Very friendly people and a cozy shop, situated right on the riverside. We rented a tandem kayak for 2 hours, got to paddle up and back with nice wildlife and wooded views. Had we gone the other way we could’ve seen downtown from the river. We’ll definitely be back.
O M: Nice experience. I will say, I find it odd that to be an outfitter shop of nature lovers, the customer service wasn't very friendly like usual places. Not rude either, just kind of cold and seemingly uninterested in answering questions or giving any helpful information.

lex longwood: I did a TT bike fitting with Kathy Boling. Got in touch with her through Fort Wayne Outfitters staff. She was great! She explained every step of the fitting and gave me loads of advice. Very thorough and really made sure I was comfortable with anything she suggested. Thank you so much Kathy!

Bella puga: We had booked 2 hours to go kayaking and the weather said it really wouldn’t rain and on the small chance it did It would just be a drizzle(even up to 12hours before) but about 30 minutes into our kayaking it started pouring and I mean downpour so we found a bridge to get underneath and called the shop. We asked if we could just get an hour the next day or even later when it’s not pouring and they told us to come back to the building to talk to the manager so we rowed back only to be told that we couldn’t do get an hour moved for the unexpected rain and couldn’t go back on since we got off even though they were the ones who told us to come back. If they had told us on the phone we couldn’t get the time then we would’ve simply stayed out hanging out on the river under the bridge but that wasn’t the case. Not coming back considering Fort Wayne weather can be sketchy not worth it. Their reason is it’s difficult to prep the kayak to go back out which frankly isn’t true easily done so if I’m choosing not to go back. Would be amazing on a nice day but we got unlucky and got unexpected rain and no help.

Fred Flynn: The company shamelessly requires tells every new customer that an email verification is required to complete the legal liability waiver. That is a disappointing manipulation just to confirm an email for future marketing purposes and potentially selling your email as a validated marketing tool. The liability waiver is understandably necessary, but all the personal information they require plus the signature is more than enough to complete the waiver, yet they tell the consumer we must confirm the email as well, which is simply not true.Otherwise, the kayaks are very good and the people working the location are kind. It is unfortunate that whoever is running the business side of it is overreaching on data gathering.
Bradan Taylor: Make your reservation online before arriving.They have a nice launching ramp to put into the water without having to get wet. The river was nice and enjoyable. Would definitely come back again.
Tayler Milliken: My husband and I went in search of new bikes and Tim & the team at Fort Wayne Outfitters were fantastic! We are amateurs at best and they were so attentive and helpful. From finding the right bikes for our riding style to the rack for the back of our SUV. Tim & Maggie walked us through all the minor details of our new bikes and accessories. Left feeling confident and excited for the adventure that awaits! Looking forward to our next visit to the shop.
Catherine Martin: I had a great rental experience at the Outfitters today. I hadn't used their online system before, but it was super easy and convenient. No paperwork at all when I got there, just a quick check-in with some very friendly and polite kids who got me in a kayak and on my way in no time! There were a ton of other paddlers and party boats on the water, so I would suggest going on a weekday if your schedule permits. I like it a bit quieter...but it's nice to see so many people enjoying Promenade Park and the rivers.

Brett Chapin: I used Fort Wayne Outfitters to rent a kayak a couple weekends ago and they were amazing! Very helpful and provided lots of information for me, which was very valuable since it was my first time kayaking. They have a nice water ramp to get in and out of the water from a dock very easily with your kayak or canoe.

Canoe and kayak rentals, as well as primitive campsites, are available by appointment.

Daymeon Ladd: Me and a buddy went on the long trip. We were instructed it would be rough at the beginning. We arrived 15 mins before scheduled departure time as instructed. He was there kayaks loaded and ready. There was another group a swell that were late. He asked if it was ok to wait if not he would go without them. We didn’t mind but I thought this was very nice to not only wait but offer to take us as it wasn’t our fault. After they arrived he took us down to the landing zone. Explained you will have to get the boats out yourself s. (The boats are light! 27 pounds. However if you have never moved a kayak they are all just awkward and the area to get to shore is steep. Bring friends it’s part of the fun.) we then packed up and dropped the first group at the short launch and headed to the longest one. It was just as steep as he said it would be . However he helped us and explained how to put the kayaks down into the water. It was a very relaxing 7 hour trip that we coasted down 13.5 miles past beautiful scenery and wildlife. This was worth the money so much so I gave extra money in hopes of a better landing area possibly and adjustable kayak ramp , or a spiral ramp so you can tie a rope around and easily pull it up onto shore. Not sure but loved this experience I would love to see sit on to kayaks tandem kayaks and sit on top tandems. OVER ALL TOP NOTCH WILL VISIT AGAIN and AGAIN

Stacey Roberts: It's ok. The landing sucked it's a fight to drag the canoes up to land and If there are more people trying to get it up its hard to stay where you are its not like the drop off site you have to fight to drag it up stairs straight out of the water.
Franchesca DeLucenay: My friend and I did the medium launch and had such an amazing time! Louie was on time, very informative and helpful in explaining to us the process and any issues or concerns. Very peaceful and even saw a bald eagle! Would highly recommend.
Dave Marihugh: Phenomenal! Friendly and personable service by the owner. We took the short run from Antwerp to his location and took about 2 1/2 hours. Very peaceful and quiet. We will definitely be returning to see Upper Maumee Canoe and Kayak again!

Mark Berger: I did the 5 hour trip by myself. I hadn't done this stretch of the Maumee before but Louis explained everything and it was fantastic...so peaceful and relaxing. They have a nice little camping area also that I think I'll stay at the next time. I really want to do the 2 day trip soon, as well as get my kids out here. Louis is a knowledgeable owner and he doesn't have a bunch of employees, that I know of...he personally takes care of you!

Justin Riebesel: Camped in the riverside campground, but used and transported our own kayaks. Owner very friendly and hospitable. Beautiful campsite and peaceful. Only drawback is the parking lot is up by the road and a little bit of a walk to the campground. They allowed us to drive down to the site to unload and load which was helpful.
Stacy Christoff: This was our first time Kayaking and Louis was so helpful and accommodating. We had a great time and will definitely go again.
