Journey Birth and Wellness: what do users think?
Magee Page-Stokes: Shanna flew around the world to be my doula at my first international birth, talk about going ABOVE & BEYOND!! She is so experienced and an expert in her trade, knowing just when to take my mind off things with light humor or storytelling, and when to "get down to business" and dig deep with my breathing and other birthing techniques to alleviate pain and progress efficiently. I love her so much, wish she could be present for all my births, and would recommend her to anyone considering. She has a beautiful family of her own, EMT experience, started her own doula team and ministry--so you know you're in good hands!
Jay & Patti Mashburn: Shanna was incredibly helpful before, during, and after the birth of our daughter. She taught us techniques, provided support to my husband and myself, and helped us think through decisions. She was also very considerate of the loss of our first child and how that would impact the pregnancy, delivery, and 4th trimester with our second child. I highly recommend Journey Birth and Wellness!

Fort Wayne Birth Center: what do users think?
Brooke Sprunger: It was such an amazing birth experience! Beautiful rooms! And I felt a lot more in control here then in a hospital. The midwife and nurse were both so sweet and i loved how they didn't just brush my husband aside. Definitely will be returning for all my future births!
Meghan Jeffries: My water broke at midnight while having active labor contractions and the midwife, Becca, refused to see us for four hours after, even after being told I had meconium in my water. After finally seeing us I had to be rushed to the hospital to have an urgent c section where my baby had to be fully resuscitated and spent 13 days in the nicu because of how long he had been in distress in the womb without being treated. Holy family birth center was nearly responsible for the death of my child due to pure neglect, assuming because the midwife just didn’t want to get out of bed. 6/10/2021.
Mika Meek: Rude receptionist
Jon Burd: Incredible education! We love this place! Awesome awesome people
Ruth Hasbrook: Only an initial outward semblance of caring. Unprofessional and will kick you out for silly unprofessional reasons. Lack of knowledge about natural care. Out for the money. Regularly cherry-picks through even low risk patients. See more details in one-star reviews (wish I could give less) under Fertility and Midwifery Care Center.
Nathan Brune: Cannot give enough praise to this facility and their staff! Our sweet little daughter was born here recently and everything went so smoothly. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a natural birth as God has designed!
Kelsey Herbst: If you are catholic this is your place to give birth. Skip the birth photography. If transfer to hospital is necessary be prepared for a disaster and stress. Do not be tempted by the art in the building to hire the photographer
Quentin: Amazing, amazing, amazing. This was our 2nd child with them. The first one born in the new awesome facility. Andreya our Rn was one of the best I've ever had interactions with. Our midwife Rachel knew exactly what to say and do at exactly the right time. If this wasn't our last child we would be going here again for sure.
Angela Melvin: This was my first childbirth experience, but I couldn't imagine it going more smoothly anywhere else. The birthing suite was wonderful. Medical interference was almost non-existent and the support staff was outstanding!
Yen El: As a first time expecting mother I am thrilled to say my experience w/ this clinic has been phenomenal. The kind-hearted staff and doctors have guided me through my pregnancy with ease. Not only are they extremely professional and informative but also personable and calming. I am almost 8 months pregnant and among all the chaos of preparing I feel at peace knowing my baby and I are in good hands. Thank you to all the staff and doctors for creating such a beautiful experience for me and my family.

Ariel Derrick: They been very helpful provides prenatal pills, will give you surprising option of baby cap and blankets, a free ultrasound, helpful answers for question, give wic info to sign up, and appointment to get insurance if u need help. They help people who are first time there and need diapers, wipes, cribs, and car seats which u can get with points u gain by watching videos and taking small quizzes.
Nyssa Luna: The women are friendly and supportive.
Sue McCollum: An excellent pregnancy resource center that provides compassion, education and resources from nurses and volunteers for anyone.
B Hoffman: The nurses, office staff and volunteers are the most caring people you could ever meet. And free!
Britney Bernstein: If you are Christian I would highly recommend going to these people since they are heavily Christian. Me being a non-Christian I felt very uncomfortable. And they would not help me get on Medicare at all and I feel like they're teaching programs are very outdated with just showing you videos.
nehemiah chacon: They waited until the last minute to tell me the ultrasound tech would not be there after they put out the ultrasound a month and a half for no apparent reason when other agencies will do an ultrasound no matter how far along you are. Not satisfied
Cesar Luevano: My wife and I, have attended for about 4 years .... we absolutely love the atmosphere and the people working at the hope center. Thank you for serving our community!
Johnny areTour Schoenefeld: The A Hope Centers is a great place to work. We have nursing staff, trained advocates, and many others awaiting to professionally serve our clients. Working with the strong team and with the clients are both very rewarding.
Jane Treece: Hope Center offers nonjudgmental care to women and men facing pregnancy. Their services are provided professionally, yet personally, seeking to understand each client's specific needs.
Joy Tiernon: Amazing organization serving women and families!
Betsey Miller: A great place that provides free pregnancy test and SIT testing. A well ran friendly center!!
Jacob Grier: Theresa is a great person to talk to about almost anything, and this place is very helpful for those needing a little extra help. I will definitely continue the classes I’m in, can always use the knowledge and help.
suzanne becker: So i only began reading reviews and seen the last poor womans nightmare she went threw!! Im in that exact same situation i have a stable job i own my home im 29 years old with a 3 year old with autism and i was told about this place by my future mother in law..... My first ob opointment is set weeks out and i thought about possibly going here so that my fiance and i can confirm our hard work of our "PLANED" pregnancy and simply because i am a diabetic witch is controled!! Id be mortified if some there even thought about mentioning an abortiin on a planned pregnancy!!!! All we simply wanted is to find out exactly how far along we are because last months period was short and abnormal.

Fertility & Midwifery Care Center, LLC.: what do users think?
Kaylee Arnold: I went here for my pregnancy and I’m an over a year PP. I had some concerns being post partum and Initially made an appt last October/ November to speak to someone about my concerns. I took off work was almost there and they’d called and canceled my appt because of scheduling issues. A couple weeks ago I made another appt hoping to see someone this time. An hour and a half before my appt they canceled once again. I Definitely do not feel like a priority and it’s disheartening to still not have been able to talk to someone about my concerns. To reschedule is hard I do work full time and have made time twice now to make these appts.
Ally Youngblood: We loved our time with FMCC. My husband and I both felt extremely supported throughout my entire pregnancy and even with a more complicated induction that ended with a C-section. We had the opportunity to interact with most of the office staff, midwives, Marianne, and Dr. Stroud for surgery - all were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I would plan on using FMCC for all future pregnancies.
Taylor Graham: I have never felt so heard by women’s health staff in my life. I felt comfortable, respected and cared about from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I walked out. I recently was able to establish care with Sarah Rothgeb, NP and I could not be more impressed. She took the time to listen to me and actually understand my struggles both past as well as present. She made plans, with just the first visit, to actually investigate the issues. Previously, I’ve had nothing but OBGYNs from the larger networks dismiss me and just throw birth control at my struggles (which either did not help or had several horrible side effects). And I’ve never gotten answers or non harmful solutions. Now, I feel like I’m on the path to actual solutions and women’s health CARE. Thank you FMCC for all you guys do!
Ryan Branning: Was referred to this clinic by my mother. Went to the first appointment in June 2022 and it was okay. Doctor Bauer seemed nice. Nine months later I received a bill in the mail for a ridiculous amount of money for blood work. Both my mother and sister go to the same doctor and we are all on the same health insurance. Both of them have received extensive lab work done the same year and it has always went through our insurance and there was never a large bill. When I called to ask why my lab work was not ran through my insurance and gave the example of my mom and sister, Ashton who answered the phone, angrily told me they are not affiliated with the lab work company then hung up the phone. Makes no sense! Very rude staff don’t go here!! The reviews speak for themselves.
Maria Wellman: Had my first baby with them and currently pregnant with my second. The midwives are very knowledgeable and helpful and they have great facilities. Communication could be better and I have to call several times before I get an answer, but I can overlook these shortcomings as I feel very cared for and I feel my babies are valued here.
Amanda Martin: They helped me with addressing problems with my PCOS , and helped me get pregnant again. I can't reccomend this place enough
Danielle Clark-Ramsey: Dr. Stalling is phenomenal. I've felt very heard and seen here ❤️
Ireena Keeslar: Great care, friendly staff. I personally love that they are Christian. Holistic experience in womens health care and pregnancy. (Photos of office at holiday time!)
Nicole Goodrum: After spending near $1000 at this practice, I never had an appointment with a Doctor!I should have known this practice would be disappointing after the girl who scheduled my appointment "forgot" to enter my information in the system and had my husband and I waiting an hour to see a nurse upon our consult. This place is a scam using technology from the 80s! They require you to go through the Creighton Model which you can personally do your self online. However, you have to pay $250 out of pocket for a sticker chart!! Buy a Kegg instead! Then they charge you constantly for follow up appointments "to prepare you to visit with a doctor". After 3 months and $1000 (I live out of state) we were no closer to having any further answers.I switched practices and saw a doctor on my very first appointment!
Anna McGahan: I at first loved it the doctors and nurses themselves were extremely sweet and caring and I was really excited about my appointment for endo exploratory surgery but I called to reschedule my appointment because of work and so forth that way I’d have more time to recover and rest and heal. And it was only one week not two weeks ahead and the lady on the other end told me how much of everyone’s time I wasted and asked me did I have any idea what all went into this ..I do feel really bad but to be honest no I don’t know because I’ve never had a surgery before ever in my life . so if I was difficult I deeply apologize. but I just wanted to reschedule my appointment not totally cancel it ..but then I did pay the fee and cancel it I was going to reschedule but after that I don’t know.
A B: First off I want to say I have had 4 OTHER PHYSICIANS - PCP's and OBGYN'S... from both Parkview and Lutheran Networks... tell me that these Doctors ARE NOT FERTILITY SPECIALISTs .. one OBGYN specifically said " she can't stand this practice and how evil it is to men and women trying to conceive and doesn't know how they are still open" so right off the bat they are insincere and scuzzy... making that claim is so disgusting to me.. that they would take advantage of people struggling with infertility.I had a horrible experience with this facility 2 yrs ago. Dr. Stalling is VERY COLD.. She failed to see very clear medical issues I already had on my ultrasound and sent me to specific testing that I SHOULDNT of had done.. that led to extreme pain and an ER VISIT.. it was very traumatic for me. They immediately make you pay for charting classes that cost like $500 off the bat before any testing to see if you can conceive naturally. Not to mention if you go here and you are not aware.. because the facility is Catholic based.. if you CAN conceive by IUI or need IVF.. they do not offer that or even mention it because it goes against THEIR beliefs! They will take your money for YEARS and not care that you do NOT conceive even though there are other options!!!
Emily Mason: Hands down an amazing doctors office! I absolutely love the midwifery! Everyone is so personable when I walk in. They know me by name and are always willing to answer my questions, phone calls, and even text messages! Huge shout out to so many of the staff members!Taylor, Stacy, and Tammi are always the first I see upon walking in! They always greet me with a smile and by name! They are always patient and kind. If they don’t have the answer, they never hesitate to find it out for me!Angela, literally the best phlebotomist! She knows me by name and recognition! She always hits my veins the first time and I have never had any issues with bruising or soreness!Amanda, Stephanie, Mackenzie, Megan, and Nyaing, are just a few of their amazing staff members! But these girls go above and beyond every time! Always so descriptive, hands on, and knowledgeable! They always meet all of my needs always willing to go the extra mile to make me feel comfortable and heard! They answer so many of my phone calls to the point it’s probably annoying but they are always reassuring, kind, and caring!Stephanie W., Man she is amazing! She is the whole reason we have our son and another on the way! She meant with us regularly and diligently to figure out our infertility adventure! I can’t say enough good things about her!Lindsey is hands down the best ultrasound tech! I haven’t really scene anyone else but man! She is nothing but calm, excited for you, and full of knowledge and reassurance! She talks you through step by step and doesn’t miss a beat!Marianne Stroud! Again, I can’t say enough! She was a major advocate for our first birth and was nothing but reassuring, comforting, and full of knowledge! She literally meant us where we were at in some of the scariest moments right before delivery and calmed us down! All in all, I am so beyond blessed to be able to have such amazing doctors, midwives, and staff to care for me before, during, and after our pregnancies!
Julia Stoffel: NOT FERTILITY SPECIALISTS! If you are struggling with infertility please steer clear of FMCC. They do not specialize in fertility, and will not guide you physically or emotional. Their office is very insensitive to your struggle, and very focused on their birthing rate. $18,000 and two surgeries later I still did not have a diagnosis for our infertility issues. The bills will just keep stacking up. My husband’s urologist (not associated with FMCC), thank God, was finally honest with us.I had two doctors while at FMCC, and both would scramble into each appointment and scramble to review my chart. They were totally unprepared.I highly recommend MIDWEST FERTILITY and Dr. Bopp if you are struggling with infertility. Dr. Bopp is amazing. He prayed with us before each procedure and truly cared for both my husband and I. Midwest was very professional and sensitive to our struggle. I am also watching my sleeping 4 month old as I write this.
Ruth Hasbrook: Run from this place! At first it seems like a dream come true, with no area birth centers outside of hospital systems, this set-up seems ideal even with a long drive. First visit they were super nice. But immediately started hounding me about my basic request to stick with female doctors. They seemed less than knowledgeable about non-medicine options. We are still figuring out billing issues as it seems much more than allowed. Ours is only one of two insurances they take, and they proudly claim the other was only because another dad fought to be covered. (They don’t have time to do that, they stated.)At the initial center tour/class, I got the distinct impression they cherry-pick patients. I understand keeping only low-risk cases in the birth center, but this was way beyond that, keeping their stats by dismissing even low-risk patients who do not conform to their every whim. (See some other prior low reviews as well.)They did poorly on discussing labs they wanted to take and what the results were. Two issues were discussed but I was surprised at all the tests listed they did but never talked over with me, either before or after the draws.Halfway between my 12 and 16 week appointments (the latter we had important follow-up labs scheduled) I received an unprofessional call from Dr Stroud asking me to call back on his cell phone. I was already creeped out by the midwives total concern (asking me in detail three times) over my not wanting to have him present in any exams. (Of which none had been conducted, nor were scheduled, and I was planning on using one of the five female midwives at the birth center for delivery. Only in emergency transfer to hospital would an OB have been needed, and there are two female OBs on staff, although I clearly stated, three times, that I understood if I needed to have a talking appointment with Dr Stroud and/or if he was the only OB available in an emergency situation.)For his FOURTH attempt to contact me in TWO DAYS (despite his message stating it was not urgent and his not using proper channels, like the portal, or my next appointment, or even the office number) he called my emergency number. My husband answered and conferenced me in. Stroud tried to sound polite at first despite stating we were “not a good fit for the practice” but became quite agitated when my husband asked questions to understand his reasons. Dr Stroud said that “we don’t deal with” husbands advocating for wives. I spoke up and said his call was making me anxious, so of course my husband was supporting me. After more inquiry, Dr Stroud finally clearly defined his claim they were not removing me for health reasons (we had done everything recommended, although chose a natural route for one thing and took one other lab near home, which I still suspect their “lack of control” over those items was part of the reason we were dismissed.) Dr Stroud’s stated reason being “my problem with male providers was an issue.” There was no caring or professionalism in his manner and we were removed as of that day, all appointments cancelled. They said they would see us on emergency basis butthereafter refused to give a script to complete their care before I could find another doctor. The lab scheduled for 16 weeks would likely have shown our natural remedy to be sufficient, but we needed to know that it was or start on medications to prevent complications. I am now 18 weeks and still have not had that lab. I go to a new OB tomorrow who is already addressing things missed by this lousy practice.
Katie Lindley: I went to them once to try to get help regarding my PMDD and endometriosis. They told me my hormones were “imbalanced” and I would have to take a class ($600 btw) to learn how to chart my cycles for 3 months before they could test my hormones. My cycle is extremely regular, so I tested my hormones a few weeks later through my PCP and there were no imbalances. Basically, they couldn’t do anything for me. $200 for them to not be able to do anything. Yikes!
Austin Wiard: My best friend lost her daughter at 20 weeks and her Dr and team had NO compassion for the pain she was going through. She was the most excited because having a child was all she’s ever wanted. She no longer gets to do that and all the Dr said was “Eh oh well”.God/Allah/insert-deity-here forbid he discovers he’s having a child only to find out that he no longer gets to have one and May Indiana not make unsuccessful pregnancies illegal when that happens. Also recommend keeping your book club out of your business practices.
Tiffany Speith: I will never recommend them. I started seeing Dr. Stroud when he was at Parkview and then when I found out I was pregnant, followed him here. I have PCOS so I knew it could be difficult. At 20 weeks, I lost my mucus plug and told them something was wrong. They didn't believe me and never once tried to check. I went into labor 24 hours later and ended up losing my daughter. Dr. Stroud showed NO compassion, and instead said "things happen". Offered no explaination, no resources. No help. He didn't show up until over an hour after I delivered my daughter. And never saw him again besides those two minutes he showed up. He doesn't care as much as he says he does about his patients.
Whitney Nieto: I had 3 out of 6 of my babies with them. Dr. Stroud office has been truly amazing and so caring during my pregnancies. They listen to your concerns and questions and answer them thoroughly and explained everything. If I could go back in time and change who delivered my older three I would in a heart beat choose Dr. Stroud office.
Pamela: I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant. A feat I thought would never happen for my husband and I after experiencing 3 previously unexplained losses. I was recommended this practice from a friend. I will forever owe her for sending me their way. Within 5 minutes of my first appointment they were able to see what was causing my losses based on tests that were ran by previous Dr's. That day I was prescribed the medicine that has made carrying my baby possible. Every midwife and physician I have met has been incredible. Becca and Rachel really stand out to me though. They are genuinely some of the nicest, most carrying people I've ever met in my life, and have made this experience so much easier on me. I would absolutely recommend fmcc to any woman who is experiencing fertility issues.
Molly Bon Fleur: It’s taken me 17 months to write this review because I have still been trying to process the details and feelings surrounding my prenatal care, birth experience, and postnatal care. If you aren’t struggling with infertility, I highly suggest you look elsewhere for obstetrical care, as it seems if you are just a “normal” pregnancy - you will get lost in the mix. The OB-midwife integrated care model is very misleading. You never end up seeing a provider long enough to develop any type of comfort level with them (mostly because they get you in and out as fast as possible) and you have no clue who will show up to your birth. Even though Dr. Stroud was at the hospital when I gave birth, he never once came to check on me, only coming to my room once to ask his midwife a separate question. Chances are, unless you have a C section, you will not have an OB in your delivery room. If this matters to you - look elsewhere for care! They say they don’t believe in interventions, but when I was laboring, every intervention under the sun was pushed on me leading to an infection and an unnecessary NICU stay for my baby. 2 weeks postpartum when, I was struggling with swelling still and unusually high blood pressure, I was met with coldness from Dr. Sterling when as a scared new mother who just wanted to know I was going to be okay, the best she could say was “Well I have no indication you are dying so just go to the ER if your BP gets worse or you get a bad headache”. When I told them that I feared I had a urinary tract infection after birth they dismissed me. I had to beg them to take a urine sample and test it and I then found out 2 weeks after (I had never heard from them so I assumed no infection)I looked up my results at the lab, that I DID have an infection and they had somehow “overlooked” the lab results and never did anything with them. This is all just the tip of the iceberg unfortunately. I wish I had looked further when choosing who I would go to for prenatal care and not been afraid to change to a different provider when I started realizing how bad it was there around 20 weeks. I truly hope this will help someone who is on the fence about choosing FMCC for their care. You deserve the best care and unfortunately, this place just isn’t it.
Alyssa Nord: I have been going to this practice for 2 years. I started out seeing Dr. Milburn and he diagnosed me after after 15 years of going doctor to doctor asking for answers. When he left, I was put with Dr. Stroud. I was excited because I had always heard amazing things about him. He is by far the most genuine, compassionate, patient physician that I have ever seen. He performed surgery on me in August and I always felt educated and confident in my decision. He never once pressured me and he was always patient and willing to answer all of the questions. I've now been put with Dr. Bauer for ongoing hormonal issues. The first 2 times I saw her I wasn't very impressed. I reluctantly went back to her yesterday for some answers about blood work and symptoms. She walks in the room without a smile; very bleak personality. She always starts by asking what is going on and how I feel. Then the blank stare. She asked me yesterday, "Sooo...what do you want me to do?" I would think that the start would be reviewing the blood work and addressing the symptoms. She basically said I had no option. I know of other options so I brought them up. I got "oh I guess I didn't think about that." It is very discouraging to know that this is what I'm stuck with should I ever have an unnatural menopause and need hormonal therapy. Love love love Dr. Stroud, but his partner will be what makes me look for help elsewhere.
