FairHaven Funeral Home & Cremation Services: what do users think?
Joe Baker: Very nice employees and facilities
Crystal Couture: Jarod was so helpful. He was kind, sincere, compassionate and patient. He made this very hard experience a little easier. I appreciate everything he did during the process. He communicated everything very well and walked us through the whole process from start to finish. I am very thankful for him.
Ketria Humbert: Amazing people who really do care!
Deidre Britton: Very caring. Reasonably priced. Treated my Mother with dignity. I absolutely would recommend FairHaven.
Susan Longbottom: Excellent care. Britton was very caring and professional. His staff is top notch and truly care about their clients. Their facility is beautiful and clean
Maria Galan-Lopez: The FairHaven Team is amazing. My loved one passed away unexpectedly and they were so helpful in walking me through the process. They took care of everything from A-Z and were even great support for me during a difficult time. I have already suggested their services to everyone I know, they are the best.
Barb Graber: Fairhaven funeral home could not have been more kind and helpful during this time. They took care of even the smallest details. I am very thankful for them.
Bobbi Wolfe: I want everyone to know how very compassionate and caring that the staff (owners) of this Funeral home are to people. My mom passed in the middle of Sept. They could see how upset we were and confused of what to do. I was greeted at the door with a hug from a stranger!(Mark), what a beautiful thing to do when you are hurting inside. So without any issues they took us under their wing and walked us through it all and did some things to help our family out to take off some of the workload this all entailed. They were honest and up front about everything all the way down to the money and even that was all itemized out. Money was clearly the last thing they even were concerned about in fact we had to mention the money part. Never dealt with any business that was more concerned on your well being than money. They are truly great hearted people that have a huge compassion for what they do and for how others feel. GOD bless each and everyone of them. They certainly made this much easier on our family. A special Thanks to Lucas.
June Birthday: I am sharing this review on behalf of my sister who's son passed away a couple of years ago. She didn't feel she was valued and offered the best services during her time of bereavement. Nor was she pleased w/the preparation of her son's body/funeral. Getting his body from another state was also a challenge...they told her they were waiting on paperwork when in actuality it was them who needed to send paperwork to get the process done. Plan ahead ppl which will not allow some to take advantage of you during one of the worse times of your life.
Jane Shown: Exceptionally kind and compassionate staff through all aspects of planning and completion of burial. Great to work with. Highly recommended.
Rob Jackson: From the initial consult to the gravesite service, the entire FairHaven staff did an amazing job in communicating, making all arrangements come together exactly as we planned. Beautiful service. Our loved one would have been pleased. Highly recommend.
Donna Neff: Our whole family was set at ease, we were treated like family. From the experience at the church to the grave site family came first, our comfort, our desires to be met Greatly appreciated.
Mark Baker: The staff at Fairhaven made us feel very comfortable during this difficult time....we are grateful to have such a fantastic staff to work with us!
Dave Janeway: Couldn't have been better during this trying time. Britt handled everything very efficiently and professionally.
Alexis Nungester: Our experience with Fairhaven when laying our daughter to rest was great. Everybody was super kind and we got her ashes back fairly quickly and we are so greatful💓.
Barbara Richards: They were very helpful at a critical time.
Jenn Thomas: My mom and I used Fairhaven when my father passed away in 2018. Sadly, my mom passed away in August 2022 and I again chose Fairhaven for her funeral services. The dedication, professionalism and warmth that the Fairhaven employees continue to consistently display will never be matched by any other funeral home in Fort Wayne or any of the surrounding areas. Again, job well done. I refuse to recommend any other funeral home in town.
Lisa Cramer: I am so impressed with Fairhaven. We had to lay my brother to rest and Jared was a blessing when it came to compassion and knowledge. Mark led our service and was the most amazingly compassionate & caring man. It was as if he was part of our family. I highly recommend Fairhaven when there is a time that you would need them.
David Wade: My brother recently passed away unexpectedly. Elaine was extremely helpful and professional as she expertly guided us through a very difficult process. She made all the arrangements we asked her to make with a reassuring and calm demeanor.
Cheryl Janeway: My mother-in-law recently passed away. She has no will or many finances. We went to Fairhaven. Britton was wonderful. Very happy with the plan we had with FairHaven. I plan to make future arrangements for my husband and I with them. Thank you.
Kelly Dowdell: I attended an extremely tough funeral and burial for a teenage girl at FairHaven this past weekend. I cannot express enough how amazing Mark Scheidt was. He was extremely attentive to the family's needs, sympathetic, helpful, patient, understanding, and so many other things. He went well past above and beyond to make sure this girl was honored. At such an emotional event, Mark's words were supportive and comforting. You can see that he genuinely cares about the families and what he does. The family were really struggling with saying goodbye to their daughter. Mark talked to them, and then to the rest of the friends and family on what we needed to do right then to help them get through this. He let us know what steps were about to be taken and the best way to help them proceed. During the burial while family was taking turns shoveling dirt into the grave, Mark even asked if he could have a turn to honor Alysa. You would have thought he was a part of the family by his words and actions. Thank you so much Mark. You brought comfort and ease to the worst situation imaginable, and we will never forget that.

Steve Hockenberry: Very rude if you don't have a seat you must leave how rude stay away from this funeral home

Deborah Reyes: Norma was of great help. Norma helped with things we didn't know about she's great she listens to the person she aslo very comforting
Inside ThaBrownFamily: They were very professional the lady norma was very niceand helped me with things i had know idea about
wanda mcgill: Horrible!!!!!! Mr. Ellis doesn't take care of business. He avoids phone calls, doesn't return calls, doesn't return love one's belongings, takes forever to file a claim then overcharges and is very rude. Sad he the only black fh in Fort Wayne.
Darius A: This is the worst funeral home in Ft Wayne. The owner is very rude an disrespectful. I wouldn't recommend this funeral home to my worst enemy in their time of grief. I regret using this funeral home entirely. The owner Mr Ellis is the rudest person I've ever met. You should not have to deal with rudeness an disrespectful people in your time of grief.
Jaimie Brown: Mixed up people and cremation containers. UNACCEPTABLE.

Divine Mercy Funeral Home: what do users think?
Loree Price: Divine Mercy took exceptional care of our Loved one. Divine Mercy was very careful, thoughtful and compassionate at this difficult time. Everything was handled with care and empathy, we never felt rushed in making everlasting decisions/memories.
Brett Pippin: Ordered $130 of flowers through their "connection" and it was 7 flowers.
Cathy Rudny: The staff at the funeral home was so caring and helpful. The facilities are beautiful. I can't say enough about the funeral home.
Steven T. USA: Competent, thoughtful, friendly
Jill Hartman: They took great care of my mom, she looked beautiful in her casket. They all were so kind and helpful to all of my family during this sad time. Anytime we had questions, we could call and and and they were so patient. Highly recommend this place!
Tracy Woodgett: These place is horrible! They lied big time for an employee to cover up from the employee stealing an item from someone else. I was very pleasant to them and they turned on me!!! It is very sad that a Catholic facility would behave in this manner! I was truly appalled at their behavior that I am letting everyone know to NOT go there for funeral services. Horrible general home😞😞😞servicess. All alot of companies do is cover up for each other when bad things happen. I am truly appalled and disappointed
Triston Theriot: I have been to a couple of funerals here, and the staff has been very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the building is amazing. Their rooms are full of windows to shine light on our darker days.
debra short: No one looks forward to making end of life decisions, especially when it involves your parents. But the staff here were both empathetic and professional. They made my mom feel very comfortable addressing this issue, and we are both relieved that we have made the decision to visit Divine Mercy.
Maria Gabet: Divine Mercy Funeral Home is not only beautiful but has a caring and profesional staff. I highly recomend it.
Rose Smith: I would highly recommend Divine Mercy Funeral Home for all your funeral needs. They did an amazing job from greeting us at the door to patiently waiting for us to finish picking flowers off the casket spray, on a cold, rainy spring day. They truly are angels among us!
sherrie snider: I've heard such nice things about the staff at Divine Mercy Funeral Home over the years and I came face to face with everyone recently! No one wants to go through this process but they gave such comfort and love it made my experience so much easier! Special Thanks to Mary Didier you are an Angel on Earth!
marge gabet: Very happy with Devine Mercy Funeral Home helping me plan funeral arrangements. Kind and compassionate. Grounds well kept. I meant to put 5 star. Recently experienced very compassionate and caring. All staff very kind and caring.
Yes To The Dress Bridal Boutique Auburn Indiana: how can we express our appreciation for how Deivine Mercy handled our loved one yet again. We experienced peace and such compassion from the moment we walked in. The Lord’s presence was felt. I am so grateful for the experienced staff and professional manner. The facility is beautiful. 6 stars! The Lord’s love abounds!
Peg Dafforn-Rader: I've been to six funerals in the last year that they graciously handled and they were the most professional place I've ever seen in my close to 50 years. Hands down the best place to respect the dead. So grateful for they're careing care with the utmost respect. Thank you. God bless everyone there.
Margie Dusseau: It takes almost 2 years for them to place a paid in full stone in the cemetery.
Dorothy dusseau: this funeral home is terrible 10/10 do not recommend.
Christy Ford: Brother in laws headstone still not in place after 1 1/2 year!!! Stone and funeral were paid in full at the time of arrangements. This is absolutely unacceptable!!! No excuse!!! Grace has been ready for stone placement long ago!!!
Megan Ford: My uncle passed away December 24, 2018 and our family was promised his stone would be up in four months and it is almost a year a half later and his stone is STILL not up. This is an outrage and complete disrespect to the family members. It shows no care towards the people who lost a loved one.
Domonic Sewell: Today we just buried my aunt who was like a second Mom to me and I want to send a special thanks Monty he really did my aunt respectfully and made her look at peace so a super shout out to Divine Mercy your staff was very empathetic inviting and they made it their mission to help me and my family be at peace at such a difficult time EVEN with the COVID 19 PANDEMIC going on. If i could give them 50 stars I would they we beyond top notch so again THANK YOU DIVINE MERCY FOR ALL YOU DID
maria nino: Divine Mercy met all of our needs & with much dignity. I highly recommend their services to any one experiencing a loss of loved one.
Monika Leonard: Our family's experience with Divine Mercy Funeral Home was excellent. When we realized that our mother was nearing the end of her life, several of us siblings had taken care of pre-arrangements with the funeral home staff. Their questions were detailed and thorough, but not intrusive. We were asked about our mother's and our wishes, and, when appropriate, options were suggested. My principal impression of the funeral home and visitation rooms was the sense of peace that enveloped me. -- When my mother's time came, the funeral home staff acted with respect, dignity, compassion, and professionalism. They anticipated our every need and offered advice when we requested it. The Visitations, Mass, and cemetery service were deeply meaningful, with the funeral home staff in attendance but never intrusive. Numerous family members and friends commented on the beauty of the funeral home and cemetery grounds as well as how seamlessly Divine Mercy staff had handled all the funeral details. I highly recommend them.

Midwest Funeral Home and Cremation Society: what do users think?
Jayde Sipe: I cannot recommend this funeral home enough. Brayden was absolutely phenomenal. We had an extremely sudden death occur. It was very difficult & we had very limited time. Brayden sat with us until we had all of our answers, all plans made, & everyone was satisfied. He went absolutely above and beyond for our family & we will forever be so thankful.
Susan Carver: Everything was perfect 🤩
Angela Urbina: I am so thankful to everyone here. My fur baby passed away suddenly on a Saturday evening and John met us at the funeral home after hours so i could have my baby cremated. I was a mess. John was able to have my baby cremated immediately and I picked him up on Monday. I can't thank everyone enough for their understanding and honoring my beloved pet and getting him back home so very quickly. You guys are truly amazing people and I cannot thank you enough. ❤️
Angela Kane: Very nice people
Marita Link: John is wonderful, and made pre-planning so painless.
Brittany Brown: The most unprofessional, unorganized, unreliable funeral and cremation service I’ve ever came in contact with. They will leave you hanging with no questions answered, ignore your phone calls, and more importantly leave your deceased loved one rotting away without doing anything about it!!!
Thelma Garza: Most people do not know this but when an African American Family get together for a funeral, there is going to be lots of anger and high emotions since alcohol is involved. Other funeral homes don’t seem to tolerate that kind of behavior but the people Midwest Funeral Home and Cremation Society are very open minded to such cultural nuances.
Hector Young: The services provided were excellent. Everything was done with the utmost professionalism and respect. The kindness shown by everyone at Midwest Funeral Home and Cremation Society was much appreciated at this time by both myself and our family as well as people I work with.
Veronica West: Wanting to give our wonderful mother the beautiful send-off she deserved was going to be difficult for us based on our financial situation. Though it may read as insensitive to discuss money at a time like this, Midwest saved us so much over comparable funeral homes without compromising quality.
Kara Bryant: It’s hard to think of a more inopportune time to have to deal with making arrangements than when somebody dear to you passes away. Midwest’s staff did all they could, in my opinion, to lessen the pain.
Sandra Robinson: It takes a special kind of person to assist a family at this, one of the worst times of their life. I could not let this gut-wrenching experience in my life pass without saying that every single Midwest staff member I interacted with was head and shoulders above the standard I would expect as far as care and compassion are concerned.
Candace Peters: The ceremony that was so beautifully crafted by Midwest allowed us to take the first baby step forward in the healing process. When we look back to the day of the service, we will be able to find a small piece of joy in the sorrow of the end of our dear loved one’s life.
Pat Ellis: My brother was adamant about his desire to be cremated. His death was not unexpected. So we did not have to deal with the shock of it. One can never be fully prepared though for the loss. At least his wishes were clear though and Midwest carried out the direct cremation without a hitch and extremely affordably. We were able to choose a beautiful urn and we will most likely continue to look at that fondly many times a day forever.
Deborah Cox: Putting our 15-year old collie, Reese down was one of the hardest things my spouse and I have ever done. He was our only “child”. Midwest and My Best Friend Pet Mortuary handled our beloved Reese’s burial with as much respect and dignity as any human deserves.
Delilah Hopkins: We recently chose this funeral home to take care of my grandmother’s passing. They not only were familiar with our family’s cemetery but also took extraordinary care of all the arrangements and put our families wishes and concerns ahead of theirs. We appreciate your service towards us.
Leonard Osborn: After the death of my wife, I needed help to go through the difficult decisions that needed to be made. Everything from help with placing photos, flowers and mementos actually added to the personalization of the visitation. They were with us during every step from the initial meeting through the cemetery service.
Brianna Dahlquist: Absolutely wonderful people. God bless you all.
steven warnock: Was very helpful and had a great service when my wife passed
exstrem gamer: BAD PLACE HORRIBLE PEOPLE
Harry Lane: If I could give them a negative rating I definitely would. This is not a place you would want to bring your enemies to let alone your loved ones. They are rude and have no respect for your loved ones. I have never dealt with a loss this close befor and for it to be my wife who I envisioned growning old with, was even more traumatic. I didnt know what to do or say or if I even had to do or say anything. But being professionals that when they should of informed me on certain things. Now I will never see my wife's wedding ring again because they cremated her with it on and then had enough nerves to make it out to be my fault when they should have just tried to make me feel better. This is not a place anyone should ever use for there loved ones.
shirlee reeves: In the beginning, after the death of my husband, they were very caring and compassionate. John offered to deliver the death certificates to my house in on a Sunday even because he wanted us to have the best service from them. Then it was like they disappeared! I had to keep asking about his obituary and sometimes they never even responded. I called, left messages, emailed, messaged through Facebook...nothing! Finally when I firmly asked what the hold up was, I was sent an email with a link to his obituary that was just done that day which was over a month after my husband died! No explanation with the link, no apology or anything. I sent the information to our local paper myself since they didn't do it which was part of their plan. Not very professional in my opinion.

C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home: what do users think?
Tammy Anderson: Very kind and professional. They explained everything, assisted above and beyond with any requests or needs , even bringing important documents to me due to my work schedule! Everything was perfectly and professionally handled.
Adam Miller: CM Sloan and Sons Funeral Home provided exceptional service to our family during the loss of our mother. Their professionalism and care made a tough time in ours lives a bit easier knowing mom was well cared for and we had everything in place.
Jacob Grove: The staff was amazing and I was able to do everything mostly by phone due to me living in another state!
Angela Dean: We were on a very small budget for our son's funeral. We were treated like everyone else who would have been able to spend much more. During our services with C M Sloan & Sons we were treated with dignity and respect throughout our entire experience. The staff was very attentive to any and all of our needs without us feeling like they were hovering over us. I will definitely use them again in the future when the need arises.
Linda South: Sloan's made sure every detail was taken care of. They provide a warm, yet professional funeral experience. Excellent service.
Dee Desario: They dealt with my brothers service in 2003, he had drowned and had to be shipped across the states. He was in pretty bad shape but I remember him being really presentable and it was such a good service and vibe overall. Recently we had my mom's service there, peak pandemic, not a lot of family. We chose to keep it as inexpensive as possible (no embalming, no casket) and they were really understanding about that. After my mom died my brother and I agreed my father is going here as well and me too if my time comes before his.. just a really great place.
Big Spriggie (Guam): You better be there on their property specifically for dead issues and dead issues only anything past the provided minute of funeral home grieving that is allowed any further lingerings will be treated as trespassing they will have you escorted off the premises and your car towed
Tammy Harmon: they did a horrible job!!! I gave them a wig that she used to wear and they put it on backwards... i asked them to turn it around correctly the for the next viewing and it still was not done!! then I ordered a fingerprint necklace for her and here it is 8 months later and I have yet to receive it. The stated that they would mail it to me ... Would love to know where it is coming from... EGYPT????
Jan Miller: They was super nice and did a wonderful Service!! Andrew was great! Thank you so much..
Tessa Ward: Belinda Zico was super nice and helpful in making arrangements for myself and my father. I highly recommend her. She was very knowledgeable and made the process easy and pleasant.
Penny Baumgartner: Excellent service before, during & afterwards. They treat you like your family. I'm so glad that I made my plans with them. They went way way beyond during Rockey's showing, they let us have his native Indian service along with military send off. They took care of all. Even mailed out thank you cards we signed. Awesome people there.
Edna Makonnen: My grandmother, Aregash Menegasha was recently called home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, July 3, 2020. At first we were nervous about how quickly things would get done because of the holiday weekend but we soon came to find out that C.M. Solan & Sons would still get things done. The customer service was the absolute best. We worked one on one with the Funeral Director Mr. Bill Hopkins who was an absolute pleasure. My family, specifically my mother was very distraught over our loss and Mr. Hopkins was a true professional. He met with us on Sunday to go over the process and followed up with us right away on Monday morning with next steps. We provided his team with traditional Ethiopian clothing to dress my grandmother in and he and his team made sure she was dressed correctly. The day of the service Mr. Hopkins made sure everything was just how we asked and was also flexible with us when we needed to make a quick change. Mr. Hopkins is a great representative for C.M. Solan & Sons. He was very kind, patient, and thoughtful and made sure allof our requests were met. All in all the funeral was absolutely beautiful and we would whole heartedly recommend C.M. Solan & Sons to anyone needing funeral home services. They treated our grandmother with so much care and dignity.
Matthew Szymanski: Our family member, Robert Lindeman, recently passed away. We were only able to have 10 people due to the recent health fears, and everything went great! The family was very happy and the Navy had representatives at the graveside service. We filmed the service so other family members could view it.
Cynthia Hillery: I didn't think that making funeral pre-arrangement plans for myself would be a great experience; I did not know what to expect. I made an appointment and my questions and concerns were addressed and the price was affordable. I'm glad I took this step! I hope not to use this plan for years to come and I have piece of mind knowing I won't leave this decision for my family or friends.
Linda Elliott: They were very kind and treated my family well during my Dads funeral and very respectful of my Mom and her needs.
Tina Ware: I would like to thank you for all you did for me and my family your service was greatly appreciated and I thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥️ sincerely Tina ware and family of paul goodin.
Jacob Scheele Jr: Never been there before because im not dead yet, but i bet the service will be amazing!

Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home: what do users think?
Rachel and the baby: They did my father's funeral and it was amazing 🙂
Rodney Lay: Everything you did exceeded my expectations.
Patsy Wiedemann: Very professional. I had know idea what the deceased had arranged and they nicely went over all she had pre-planned and we came up with a great final arrangement.
Marty Turnage: Michael and the bereavement team were great! They were very empathetic, and seamless in the way my mom's services flowed. Thank you all for making the day stress free.
rexio: In such a hard time of my family’s life losing my husband, Hockemeyer did a wonderful job with everything.
Christopher VanHentenryck: My Father had two funerals in two states. First here in Indiana and then again in Michigan at Wint funeral home in Clarkston MI, I think the review should be a contrast and compare of how Wint performed services and what this place provides, which I refuse to call it "service"1. Staff communicationAt Wint funeral home - I was always able to reach a funeral director. They always were able to provide me with any information I required. At Hockenmeyer - we didn't receive any communication until FOUR days after my Fathers passing. Everytime I call, the person on the phone has to call me back or investigate before I am able to get an answer.2. Facilities - Wint had multiple services performed on the same day and we never even bumped into the other parties. Very roomy, plenty of space for picture boards, decor etc.Hockenmeyer barely had room for a couple of poster boards & a few table décor. Don't be confused by the pictures at Hockenmeyer - place is very small. The room which was functional was decorated nicely enough. The other rooms at the home were non-functional.3. Body preparationWint was able to correct all of Hockenmeyers mistakes, which are to follow, four days after the Hack job did their thing and 11 days after expiration.Hack-job-meyer left his hands and face BLUE! It did NOT look like my Dad at all! Everyone who was present agreed. Poor job on the lips, blue in the face, hands, arms. Foundation makeup exists - just not at Hack-job-meyerWint was able to correct not only the lips, but all of the coloring as well.4. Death Certificate. This one gets it's own section - namely due to the lies and runaround Ive been given. I was told that the certificate first needs to go to funeral director, then to a doctor to affirm cause of death, and finally back to the funeral director before it is finalized.I get that, it's a process.First I called proactively after a week where I am told about the aforementioned process. I understand bureaucracy exists and things need to be done a certain way. I was then informed they have already sent it to the doctor for his approval and should receive it next week.A full week passesThe following week I'm told over the phone by the funeral director that he is calling to affirm and correct spelling if needed - that it had already been signed by the doctor.Another week passesI call the home again where I am told it is now waiting on the doctor again!? Someone obviously lied to me. At this point it has been over three weeks and we have still not received any death certificates. For comparison, my Mothers was obtained within one week through Wint.I'm sure I wanted to spend time recalling a very few difficult days in my life, I could provide other examples. Just trust the one-star review and try to find another home to use. I can't recommend going ANYWHERE else enough.
Jeff Holderman: Everything was taken care of for us. We did prepay, so that helped. But Michael and staff were kind, courteous and prompt.Everything went well.
Kelly Simpson: I have used Hockemeyer & Miller they are great. Friendly, professional and very knowledgeable.
stanley mcbride: Guess was super friendly we talked about people that he played with on the KoMets what is a great guy
Natalie Cogar: After learning my 45 year old husband had pancreatic cancer, we contacted Highland Park where Stephanie helped us pre-plan our services. She was outstanding! It was so helpful to make decisions together so that after his passing, I felt comfort in knowing he was happy with our decisions. The funeral director we worked with at Hockemeyer Miller FH, Andrew, was amazing in helping me with the obituary and getting the viewing/service scheduled. The staff at HMFH went out of their way to make sure I was okay, asking often if there was anything they could do. I couldn’t have been more pleased during this stressful time. They were so helpful!
Willie Suttle: I really appreciate the HONESTY, professionalism and caring that we received from Hockemeyer-miller! The Funeral director (Reggie) and the entire staff were incredibly supportive and unbelievable throughout our very challenging time while grieving and trying to grasp the reality of our loss and situation. While I pray and hope that it'll be a very long time before needing their service again, I would definitely use them again and I'd recommend them to everyone if they're in need. Sincerely, Willie C
Debbie Bolton: My original meeting was scheduled with Andrew. I gave him the requested information over the phone and he advised me of the items I needed to bring to our meeting. I was quite surprised when my meeting was with another associate and I was not advised of the change. A piece of the information was incorrect so I called him back to make the change the same dayThe person who handled the meeting started talking to my sister thinking she was the widow . Needless to say, she apologized when she found out she was talking to the wrong person. In addition, the corrected information I provided was not reflected on their completed forms. It seemed like I wasted my time to give them the correct information. We provided a preliminary obituary thinking that the funeral home may enhance or improve it if need be. She sent the obituary for my review and left information out since she was in a hurry to meet a time deadline. I ended rewriting the obit so it could be posted on the website and in the news paper.I had two viewings for my husband. One here in Fort Wayne and one in his hometown. When visiting the second funeral home to make the final arrangements, the funeral director provided me a price list and stated it was probably like the one I was provided in Fort Wayne This was news to me as no price list was provided by Hockemeyer & Miller. Since I had already arranged for the florist and with the funeral being held in Lapel, IN there was little that needed to be done in Fort Wayne. I have no idea if I was overcharged for the services provided. Our meeting with the representative was short and very business like. She provided me a book to choose a casket and a contract for services renderedI will say there was s trainee who was very kind, helpful and sympathetic which I was expecting from any of their employees.I was hysterical over how my husband looked and they were able to get the cosmetician to improve his color and comb his hair correctly. I appreciated that very much. Two gentleman helped us with easels which was appreciated as well. They also provided a meal which was quite nice. Finally, I get the death certificate which was not reviewed. My husband was classified as a female and not a male. More time wasted in getting the death certificatesWe have used this funeral home twice before so I felt comfortable in using them again. After this experience, that won’t be the case
Ekrema Melkic: Thank you for everything you did.🙏🙏
Sherri Bradley: I met with Guy Dupie to pre plan my funeral arrangements. He went over all my options with no pressure to purchase. I picked all of the options that suited me.This will be something my children will not have to do at the time of my death. D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park: what do users think?
Debbie Fincher: Excellent, Excellent service. Everyone so professional, caring, made my family at ease, going through this experience. Job well done. I will tell all my friends and other family members. Keep up the great work..thank you Andrew and everyone else. GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Jeannette: Everything done with care and professionalism. Only glitch - when the urn was engraved, I did not receive a mach up, so I could not request the size of the lettering nor the font style. A profound disappointment.
Tilda Hanks: Very compassionate and caring
Sabrina Hiscock: All the people I spoke with were very pleasant and helpful.
John Dahman: very good service very friendly
Amy Knapp: If it was possible, I wouldn't give 1 star.We Was supposed to have services and celebration of life at D.O. McCombs, but when EVERYONE SHOWED UP, the funeral director we had been working with wasn't there and his business partners was clueless. They told us no food, no music, no picture slide show. Everything that was said they would do was all broken promises. We had a slide show, food and music that was approved by funeral director we was working with and also printed on the announcements. What a terrible way to conduct business. This business did not follow through on the agreements. Very terrible thing for our family and friends to deal with on top of dealing with this horrific tragedy 😢 😞!Shame one this business!!!!
Brian Froman: While going thru this time of sorrow of losing my grandmother. Mike and Richard were very kind & helpful thru this difficult time. Mike was very helpful in the finalizing the arrangement that my grandmother had started and keeping to her wishes. Richard was very helpful and informative with any questions that I had thru this process. Richard was very comforting and reassured me that I did everything that I could for my grandmother in the last years of her life. I really appreciate all the help and comforting words during this process. Thank you very much Mike and Richard. Thank you D.O. McCombs for taking great care of my grandmother while she was in your care.
Key P: Reggie was Amazing!!Andrew was Outstanding!Rick was Fantastic! The whole team was accommodating and professional.
lostthenfound1: Great people to deal with, Kent Scholz set up exactly what I needed!
Yolanda Walker: Words cannot express how grateful I am for Makeba and the amazing job that she did while working with myself and my niece when my sister passed away. She was very professional and she handled us with care while making arrangements for my sister's service during a very difficult time for my family. I am also grateful for Bernadette who loved on my family and who also worked my sister's service along with Makeba. Bernadette made sure the service flowed, she made sure my family and friends had everything needed and she just made sure everything was perfect. Thank you so much Makeba and Bernadette for the amazing job that you ladies did. I know my sister was proud and God was glorified!
Carmen Palacios: It was a great experience, the staff, the place the whole service was excellent
James: The staff here is amazing, kind, and caring.
Cassandra O'Brien: During the funeral Ms. McKenna pulled me into the room to sign the death certificate despite being distraught. I had to have my love calm me down before returning to the memorial service. The service itself is the only reason I am giving a star due to the pastor being kind and understanding of my families' needs. After the funeral I had to wait a month for my mother's ashes and I kept getting the run around despite numerous calls and emails to Mr. Michael. Finally after telling them I will write a bad review I got a response that they have my mother. Despite specific instructions of my mom being placed in 4 different urns for our family members they tried to hand her to me in one scattering tube.Jace was so kind to my family and I, and fixed the problem. He should be in charge of funerals because he made me feel heard. This is a time of great mourning and it should not be added with stress/worry/anxiety from a profession where it is their job to help heal.
Michelle Hoffman: I would like to personally thank Haley Taylor for her quick response in obtaining a proper death certificate for my father. She was incredibly kind and courteous and understanding of my circumstances. Thank you so much!!
Kelly R: Horrible!!!... they totally messed up our Aunt's obituary leaving 10 of her siblings off; & listed my mom as living when deceased. This while having other family obituaries to compare it to, and then they promised to fix it. Then they promised to fix it, and asked me to email the corrected obituary. I did this, and they have never fixed it. Wouldn't return calls, and to this days years later... my Aunt looks to have only 1 sister when she loved all of them as they loved her. Shame on them for not doing their due diligence in properly doing her obituary.
James Stevens: The funeral was great very sad miss her a lot
Lindsay Flottemesch: I’m really not surprised by the previous bad review. My father passed a few weeks ago and though i was his eldest daughter (immediate point of contact who stayed with my deceased father until the coroner pick him up) they’ve handled this situation SO badly. Withholding information without any true signed appointed legal documentation to do so… I’ll never work with DO McCombs again. No empathy. No transparency. No privacy even after stating our concerns with a certain family member. Thank you for making this an even more traumatic experience. I really hope no one ever uses yours Service. In the future I highly suggest you LISTEN before injecting yourself into private matters.
Linda Hall: Very kind and caring throughout
Angelia Pranger: Me and my family were treated like a business transaction. The staff had no sympathy or empathy for our grieving family. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I would never go there again.
James Butler: Mr Connley was very professional and patient with my questions! I would be happy to recommend him to family and friends,!!
Edwin Burgos: We recommend D.O. McComb, we used their services recently and they treated us with a lots of dignity and compassion during difficult times.

Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals: what do users think?
Jeannine Wildey: Thank Belinda for her Great help with our arrangements. We just had one little hick-up while doing it, but it is all straightened out now.
Vicky Graham: Autumn and Carrie were very helpful and supportive
Jace Noe: We got left unattended for over 45 min in the board room. It was enough time to call around and choose another funeral (for almost half price), arrange pick up of the body, and pick out some minor details. My father wanted a simple cremation, they wanted us to pick up fancy urns, a plain over priced box for the cremation. They were just trying to Nickle and dime us, for stuff my father didn't want. Very nice people at the place. But they just didn't offer the strip down service we wanted on my father's wishes
terri shimp: Everyone was so kind and thoughtful. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my husband.
Dew Fulghum: From beginning to end, everything was so well put together. Randy was absolutely wonderful to work with, as well as all the staff being so kind and attentive. Thank you
Ken X: Be careful of how they formulate costsFelt taken advantage of
Reba Hernandez: Wonderful people! I had worked with them when my Bonus Dad past. Autumn was absolutely wonderful. Treated Mom and I with the upmost respect and compassion. Even gave us some different ideas on how to plan Pops service and it went off beautifully. Fast forward 22 months later and I was back meeting with Autumn to plan my Moms service. She knew exactly who I was and was very compassionate, although she was expecting her child at any moment she assured me that I would be in good hands! And I was! Moms service was beautiful and I know she would have been happy with her send off. I hope all is well with Autumn and her bundle of joy arrived with no issues! Thank you to all who took such good care of us at time of sadness.
Kim Lahey: Randy diffently did a wonderful job of making each party feel heard and validated. He went out of his way to show compassion and concern. I would recommend this organization to everyone.
Barb Anderson: We made pre-arrangements for my mother at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak. When the time came for my mother’s memorial, Randy and associates could not have been more helpful. We were so pleased that the service went off without a hitch and with grace and dignity. The selection of In The Garden by Alan Jackson was PERFECT and wasn’t even picked by us, but was what we would’ve picked if we could have. We also used Elzey-Patterson-Rodak for my father back in 2014. I highly recommend them!
William Hosler: First Class Service and very nice staff
Teresa Bower: Randy and Belinda made this difficult time bearable and showed much compassion and concern for my mother and our family. They truly helped to move us forward in our memorialization of our very special mother.
Karen Littleford: Belinda was very helpful and understanding.
Deborah Ivens: I thought it would be difficult to make my arrangements, but my representative, Phil, made everything very easy. He explained everything in detail so I could understand the process as well as the cost. He was very patient with answering all my questions and having very pleasant conversations. He took all the time needed to help me through all the paperwork and walk through every step. The folder he left with me will be very helpful for me to help my loved ones have the information they need to follow through with my wishes.I recommend this business
Nina Loshe: Everyone was so friendly and helpful…they took care of everything and my grandma’s service was beautiful ❤️
Genetta Wiggin: Everyone was very kind and understanding, especially Autumn
Debra Halmich: The staff here was so very nice and the funeral home was so nice and clean.
Rose Putman: The entire staff took excellent care of my mother and our entire family. They were so caring and compassionate . We are so very grateful for their gentle guidance and help with her funeral process. Thank you so much.
Bryan Dalman: Handled everything for us and made it as simple as possible. Great service in every way possible.
Alice Witt: From the passing to the funeral and beyond, everyone has been superb. Very professional and caring.
Jana Wanner: Complete confidence in this process. Awkward and difficult with no death impending, all our wishes were attended to. Very pleased and thankful it is all preplanned.
woodrow ormiston: Very professional by all means. Met all expectations without any hesitations. Highly recommend!

Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Highland Park: what do users think?
Donna Cobbins: My brother passes away on October 17, 2022. When we spoke to the funeral director this was Prior to me leaving for a trip to Greece for 10 days. I wanted to make sure my sister in love had everything she wanted. That his remains would be returned to us in his urn we had purchased. With a small bag of his ashes for cremation jewelry in a separate bag. At that time I was made to purchase a travel box for his remains and his obituary program and signature book for the memorial service that would take place at a later date This company refuse to make contact they have money for thing that have paid for out of pock myself again. The death certificate is I corrected the information about how long he battles GBM is incorrect and his resection has been given to 4 hospital fort study this information need to be corrected. So I reach out to the funeral director who sold me several burials to se if he could assist. He tried but unfortunately this person does not respect the people he service. So I will be seeking a return on the obituary and signature book. Since he refuse his to communicate with me. I will not use this place for service nor advice any of my friends to use them. I work for a Fortune 500 company I will be sharing my experience with. So sad they haven’t made it right and His celebration of Life is 4/8/23. Oh and one others thing they did not grind his bones well so we could feel the small jewelry. In your time of need you need the funeral director to support your needs not lining his pockets. I am so disappointed in this part of the service this company was to provide my famil.
Redbone Brooks: Very professional business who went beyond our expectations. I would definitely recommend too anyone.
Kat B.: Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Highland Park had the best quoted price around and ended up costing less than initial quote. They did a wonderful job. Got everything we needed with them.
Toni McDonald: Staff was very helpful friendly.. Very respectful in our timeline sorrow
Jane Berner: Highland Park Cemetery staff was extremely helpful with making arrangements for mom’s funeral. The day was perfect. It was exactly what our family wanted for mom.
Eric Opliger: When you can only afford to get the most basic service, (Cremation) is it not assumed that you have limited funds? Even after you make it clear why you are getting the service... My Father passed away last year, and I used Advantage. After the arrangements were set up, they took me into a small conference room. Here, I sat for about an hour almost in tears from the pain as they showcased their entire collection of "more things I can spend money on" that I clearly didn't have. After the 45 min presentation was over, they asked about MY funeral and if I had thought about making arrangements.... not a good time guys maybe ask later... Here we are a year later, it took me a long time to be able to do it, but I took my father's ashes in with and affordable urn I found on Amazon for half the price of what they had in their "showcase". Was also told the "fee" would be waved and every person I dealt with brought it up. After getting there around 3:00 pm on a Friday, I was told I could not be helped right now since no Director is on site. Cool - understandable. Asked if I could leave the ashes there and come get them when they are done....Nope! Was told to come back next week when a Director would be present. K so I came back the following Tuesday.....same deal no Director and sent home. So, I called the other location, and it was supposedly worked out that I would drop the ashes off at the location on Wallen that day and the ashes would be transferred the following day. Even got a call from a Director as I was dropping the ashes off assuring me it would get done. Came back 2 days later as discussed with the Director (did not hear from them during this time just assumed it was done being that 2 days had passed, and they had already dropped the ball on this). ......Wasn't done. OK OK soooo then I was told I would be expecting a call the next day confirming its completion. FINALLY GOT THEM BACK! Only took a week and a half.
marshamcc01: Very caring, professional, helpful, went through every detail. My father's funeral was the most beautiful I have ever seen. Thank you to all. I highly recommend them.
Dawn Staton: The staffs genuine kindness and compassion helped the entire process to be done with ease. I would definitely recommend them for anyone who is considering them for services.
Deco Services: Jon made sure any/all requests were addressed. Wasn’t sure what to expect; however, Jon and his team graciously helped us navigate through everything when we were at a very low point. We were very impressed with the level of professionalism and not once did we feel pressured. Thank you Jon and please pass along our sentiments to the rest of the team.
Michael Hicks: From the initial phone call, thru to the feedback call, all of our expectations were met. Professional and caring staff. I truly felt they just wanted to help and take the burden of planning on them so I could just grieve.
Randy Chappell: Make sure they know your part of your loved ones of the deceased. If you a brother, don't count on being recognized. Yes, they don't half to let me take part in anything. But they should atleast recognize the entire family.
Glenn Bogan: Very caring compassionate people. They took very good care of my family and I.
Gayla Del Priore: Very caring and gentle staff during a difficult time. The cost for cremation was affordable and everything was explained very well. When I had questions they were addressed right away and my husband’s ashes were returned to me in a timely fashion. The staff is also available if you need ashes removed for memorial purposes at a later date or if there is anything else they can help you with. Just an overall wonderful experience. Would highly recommend Advantage.
Dean Arney: Very compassionate people. Leah, did an outstanding job helping my mom and I. Price didn't matter, personal service is exceptional.
Jackie Wolfe: Thank you from the Werling family, for all you did for us in our difficult time! We were very pleased with all you had to offer, with the exception of, being able to have longer evening hours for visitation, lot of our friends and family work and did not get to pay their respect for our mother! Over all I will highly recommend your services! Once again thank you Advantage for all the support you gave to my family and I in our time of sorrow!
Maggie Watson: Larry and I had completed our funeral arrangements early, so the burden wouldn't fall on our children to complete. We picked Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services because of what we had heard from friends who had also used them. The services they provided were excellent, starting with David Misner, Bill, and then finishing with Leah Fulton. Everything that was requested from Leah, was completed with taste and dignity for Larry. I will be recommending Advantage to others.
Terry Bailey: Very Professional and friendly people! They made the entire process very easy, which is so needed in the times that we are forced to deal with a loss. Thank you Bill and Leah!
Sue Mcbride: Advantage funeral was most accommodating through this whole process of dealing with the loss of my husband.i definitely would rate them a 5 star.Thank You
Don Jordan: Dave Misner did an excellent job and explained all the options with no pressure to use any option available.
Patricia Dobbins: Everyone was so personable and helpful. They walked me through everything I needed as I dealt with my brother-in-law's burial arrangements. This is my second time with them. 2 years ago I hate use them for my brother's funeral. I've been very please with their service. And their rates are very reasonable. I do recommend them to others.
susan carpenter: Leah helped us in one of our most difficult times of our lives. Putting our only daughter at age 36 to rest was horrible. But Leah handled my husband & myself along with my daughter’s 3 year old with respect. She was so compassionate & caring. She almost felt like family. David also helped out tremendously. He gave me unmeasurable advice on how to help our 11 year old granddaughter through this tough time. All of our family truly appreciate Leah & David. We felt blessed.

Yay Greenlawn!! .Dave Smith
