McKenzie Brouk: We went in on Easter Sunday as it was also my birthday & one of the few restaurants open in Ft. Wayne. It was brunch style and the food had been mostly picked over. All the staff seemed very disinterested to be there, which I understand because of the holiday, but you also have customers who are at your restaurant for a reason. A server was in a rush to get home and made it very apparent. To top it all off…my fiancé didn’t tip much as it was buffet style & we didn’t get the normal experience you would expect coming to a nice restaurant. Well the server/hostess/manger/whoever decided to add an extra number onto the tip, which is fraud. He got a much larger charge on his credit card this morning (a $40 additional tip) Very disappointed with this whole experience. I usually don’t write many google reviews, but was very disappointed with this restaurant on Sunday.

Nicholas Carpenter: My wife and I discovered this establishment about 3 years ago. I am so happy that we did. The food is just absolutely out of this world amazing! The ribs are always cooked perfectly! It doesn't seem to matter what we order everything is always cooked to perfection. ❤️ I can't sing enough praise about Black Canyon. We will come back time and time again!

Lori Lecea: Had lunch all you care to enjoy soup and salad. Waitress didn't ask if we needed anything after dropping food off. Flagged her down to put in another order of a salad. didn't know there is a refill charge until the bill. Must have been a bad day for them. This restaurant wasn't extremely busy plenty of empty tables. This was our 1st time and not feeling it was an inviting environment.

Caesar salad, $7, not really that flavorful, lacked enough dressing, and if there was more, the acidic component of the dressing would really put a sour taste in your mouth, it was some sort of vinegar. I tasted the romaine lettuce, more than the dressing. The sirloin, $27-29, for 10oz, for boasting on the menu as being aged for 28 days, was rather tough, luckily I got it medium, which was borderline of medium well, so it had some juice still in it, which any more done, I would have to dunk it in my iced tea. Maybe their more expensove market prices cuts of meats are better, I'll never know. My side dish, the steamed broccoli, was the most flavorful, although it had some sort of cheese on it, the same as what was in the Caesar salad, which I don't like, and it wasn't stated on the menu, oh well....their own personal flair on food. The server, asked what I wanted, and that's about it. She didn't ask how the food was, or if I needed any steak sauce or anything else, just asked if I needed dessert. My card was in my hand to pay, before she even came with the check. Longhorn's is better, far better worth the money, Texas Roadhouse is always an experience, at a more reasonable price. All on all, I won't go back.

Ana Ruiz Bacon: Finally! A Sexy, classy, Restaurant on the North side of town. Very busy, great atmosphere. Nothing beats the happy buzz of satisfied customers. The staff were very professional and experienced. The kitchen sights and sounds, coupled with the delicious smells kept me entertained as I witnessed a parade of beautifully executed dishes marching on to their respective tables. They have a great beverage menu and the bartenders were top notch. Hard working and going full tilt to meet the demand. Still managing to be attentive and prompt to the ones sitting at the bar, where I sat. I ordered a Mezcal Paloma and a half order of BC Oysters, served w french bread, could not have been a better meal for one. As I was taking myself out on a date. Just lovely.

Rick Phipps: We went there for our 20th anniversary dinner last night waitress was good and charming. DO NOT GET THE LOBSTER MAC AND CHEESE. The meat was from the tips of small tentacle pieces. Everything else was very good. Update from last time there. I took wife there for birthday we were seated within 10 minutes we order wine appetizer and entree. Slowest service ever. second glass of wine took 30 minutes when it finally came the glass was hot as it just came from the dishwasher waitress said they ran out glasses it ruined the wine another half hour passed and still no food we should of left we didn't finally food came by now we had no desire for food. We payed and left. We won't be back m.

Wayne from out of town and had a few bad culinary experiences while there, but Tolon made my trip completely worth it. I got the Tolon spiced tea (which I bought a sachet of to bring home), biscuits, and vegetarian breakfast rice. Our waitress was kind, polite, and talkative; she made great suggestions, but I doubt anything on their menu was bad. Seriously amazing food, if you're in Ft. Wayne it's a must-try.Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options, but even more importantly they mentioned on the menu when something was optionally vegetarian!

Fantastic cocktails, great service, overall just a fantastic experience. Not pictured the delicious deviled eggs (because we were so excited we couldn’t stop for pictures), my husband had the pork chop and I had the bison pasta. Delicious!

Joseph Vaccaro: Love coming here for brunch. This place is great every other day or night of the week but the brunch menu is my favorite. Chicken and waffles, best in town, best I have ever had. Kitchen is super clean. Execution is perfect. Decor and service is bar none. The bar serves up local premium spirits. The old fashioned has a cinnamon taste and is delicious. You will need a reservation if you want to have a table. Bar is usually open with a few seats. Don't miss out.
Darren Barnes: I really wanted to like Tolon. The concept and menu sounded delicious, but in the end poor execution left me wanting.We went for brunch and left quite disappointed. We each ordered a Bloody Mary to drink and some of the biscuits everyone seemed to be raving about. For entrées I had the shrimp and grits and my wife the chicken & waffles.I love all manner of Bloody Mary, but made it about halfway through this one before I had to throw in the towel. Each sip was just a mouthful of horseradish finished with watered down tomato juice. I didn't get any other flavors, including the spirit. I typically love a horseradish heavy Bloody Mary and I have sampled tons of house Bloody mixes that were amazing. This just missed the mark entirely. With no other flavor to offset the horseradish and the house mix being nothing more than flavorless tomatoes run through a juicer it was ultimately undrinkable.The biscuits were honestly the only part of the visit that demonstrated any culinary aptitude whatsoever. Dense, flavorful, appropriately seasoned and baked to perfection. I can see why these are the big take away for so many patrons. However, even on this plate the house made berry bourbon jam was a disappointment. Not a jam at all, just a runny syrup with a few macerated berries.My shrimp and grits were as inedible as my Bloody was undrinkable. Blackened shrimp fell victim to what happens to many blackened dishes prepared by anything other than a chef with a lot of experience in the style. Just a mouthful of black pepper and old bay. Barely even picked up any shrimp flavor on the back end. Offset this with grits and andouille so salty that I'm pretty sure they altered my serum osmolality. I ate maybe 5 bites before calling it.Wife's chicken was similarly problematic. While the texture of the breading was close to that of a good Nashville hot chicken, the flavor was nothing but a mouthful of black pepper. At this point I'm seeing a trend in this kitchen 🤔.I have often been accused of liking food too spicy, and I enjoy all manner of strong flavors. So for me to have these complaints... It wasn't that anything was too spicy or strong, the flavors were just wrong.Bottom line: we ultimately spent a lot of money on food that just wasn't prepared well and didn't taste good.Our server, after over emphasizing the farm to table shtick to the point of tedium, failed to recognize that there was a bunch of picked over food on the table which clearly had not been enjoyed. When a table asks for the check and they have barely touched their meals you might want to investigate beyond the fact that they do not want boxes for any of it.2 stars for effort.I reserve 1 star for full on calamity or complete lack of customer service, but I really cannot imagine being enticed to return to Tolon. Especially with delicious options like Nawa & Mercado right across the street.P.S. Any establishment with negative reviews which mention the owner by name, confirmed by the owner's argumentative and unprofessional replies should be a HUGE red flag to anyone with half a brain. At this point I'm just thankful we didn't encounter Nicky during our visit! 😂
Abimael Gutiérrez: My friend and I had the ribeye topped with butter with Yukon gold potatoes. The portion was substantial. The food was very good. I had an old fashioned to drink as well. We had the most expensive meal by far. Two can usually get out of here for under $60, but our bill was $120. Our waiter was excellent and right on top of things. He saw I splattered grease from my steak on my shirt and offered some soda water to clean up without me asking. Parking here is difficult. At 5:15 on a Friday, we had to circle the block several times to catch someone pulling out.
