Betsy Lou: I wish I could give them zero stars. Please choose any other inspection company besides Aardvark. Our home was inspected and given an overall 'clean bill of health'. Turns out that couldn't be further from the truth. Just about everything in our home has something wrong with it. Stuff that should have been caught by a company with so many good reviews. The home issues that have been worked on since inspection have one thing in common: Everything is SEVERLY out of current code standards and should not have passed in any way. PLEASE use any other company in Fort Wayne for your inspection, unless you want to pay thousands of dollars to live in a decrepit home with plumbing, electrical and structural issues!

I was able to schedule within a week for a big job to be done in order to close on my home. The technician was thorough and went the extra mile to help fix our home. We had to install a radon system, exterminate bees, spray for mold, and reroute the bathroom exhaust fans. Quite a bit of work but he made sure to stay on task. He also laid down canvas cloth to make sure he kept my home clean. They also beat out a local competitor with cost! Give this family owned business your business!

Stephen: I've waited a few months to write my review so I could give as honest a review as possible. TLDR: I could not be happier with the work done and the results. If we ever need any service like this again, we won't hesitate to use this company!When we purchased our home, we did a radon test and found that the levels were outside of the acceptable range. Alex came and inspected our home. He was professional, knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. My basement is finished and the utility room is very compact - it is wonderfully efficient but there was very little room for installing a mitigation system. Alex worked with me to find a solution and install the mitigation system within my very compact utility room and run the system from my garage up through the attic. The imprint of the mitigation system is very small but it has worked tremendously. I really appreciate the professionalism of everyone here and am still greatly impressed by the work Alex did in our challenging house! I could not recommend this company enough!

Meghan Kolkman-stayner: Had an inspection done on my house by this company from the buyer. They left a stove burner on and left all the blinds open when it was 95 degrees outside. I didn’t have their information so my realtor called to complain for me and they said “they wear body cameras and all the blinds were open when he got there and he touched the stove after messing with it.” When in fact you can see the photo of the house all the blinds were closed on his arrival. The stove is a major safety concern. The two dummy lights were on saying “hot surface” and “heating element on.” I’m sure you could see that in their body can footage but they of course didn’t offer to present that. Not like I wanted anything out of it, just for them to be more mindful when they go into peoples homes. The least they could do was acknowledge the issue and apologize.Not only that but they mentioned things that were not issues with the house. Saying the dryer isn’t vented outside when it is, toilet moves when it doesn’t.

Wayne Scott: After I found my house had a radon problem I called FamilyGuard. They came to do a quote within a day or two and had the quote later that afternoon. (around $1000) They were able to come back and do the installation the following week.The installer was very careful and didn't make a mess and he tried very hard to get the system tucked into a corner so it was as unobtrusive as possible.Afterwards radon levels in the basement were completely at safe levels.Would recommend.

I then decided to hire Family Guard to fix the problem. They had to tear out the botched system, install a whole new system, and the test results came back below the EPA action level of 2.0. Jim Becher: Intteg Home Inspection is probably the most incompetent Home Inspection company I have ever seen. I was the seller. The address was 2925 Treviso Way, Fort Wayne, IN 46814. I believe the inspector was Doug Brenneke. The short version is that home inspections are not meant to terrify the buyer yet that is what Intteg did. There were many examples but here are the three biggest:1) The inspector stated that the fireplace is inoperable. Totally incorrect. The inspector simply did not know how to turn it on. All he had to do was ask. It took all of 15 seconds to turn it on but instead it was flagged as inoperable.2) The inspector stated that the electrical panels were not grounded. Once again totally incorrect. The inspector was clueless as to what was to code. It was grounded properly. Once again if the inspector wasn't sure about something all he needed to do was ask. I called the Allen County Building department, and the senior electrical inspector took the time to walk me through everything. He said they have been ground things this way for 20 years. That it was mandatory to ground it this way when there is a basement. Maybe the inspector needs a course or two in building code rather than simply failing something he doesn't understand.3) Several times throughout the inspection report the inspector stated something was working properly immediately followed by the statement that sooner or later it would need maintenance or repair. Just exactly how do you think the buyer is going to interpret that? I would interpret that as a problem. Sooner or later, everything is going to need maintenance and repair. It is part of life. Was the inspector not aware of this? Why would he cast such a negative light on everything?I would stay as far away from Intteg Home Inspection as possible. The whole point in having a home inspection is to point out major things that need to be fixed. This inspection report was anything but. I also find it very interesting that this company is not registered with the BBB.

His report was incredibly detailed and even included pictures of specific areas that needed addressed. I was very impressed by his work and would highly recommend him to anyone.
Carrie Hampshire: Some guy in a company car ran a stop sign today and almost hit me and my child then stopped to scream at me for his inability to drive. I should have let him hit me, then his rude self would most likely lose his job for wrecking a company car. After research, not surprised at his lack of professionalism and representation of the company. It appears to be standard.
Tina Houser: Mr. Fanger conducted an inspection on a home that my dad purchased just a few short weeks ago. The inspection seemed ok, not too many issues with the home and there didn't seem to be any major defects. After getting possession of the home, we found major defects that Mr. Fanger missed. There is about 5 sq ft. of mold in the master bedroom closet (the wall butts up to the mb tub as well as the washing machine on the other side, a particularly important wall to be looked at. He also missed very black mold (in excess) under the master bathroom sink. Wait.. that's not all, he also missed black mold, standing water, and the pungent smell that all of that produces under the kitchen sink. In all fairness, it seemed the sellers were aware and poured copious amounts of vinegar in the cabinet to try to hide the smell.. but you can't hide black mold! Oh.. and to top things off, his inspection said the dishwasher worked.. Seems he didn't even open it.. must have just turned it on to see if the water started. Yeah.. it was full of what looked like human vomit. After many attempts at trying to clean it, the water does work, but it doesn't drain properly or dry.I, of course, alerted him to the major (expensive and unhealthy) issues he missed and his response was this: "There was moderate to heavy volume of stored items noted. So if there are stored items under sinks and in closets, there is no way I could have seen these areas, I do not move personal stored items out of closets or from under sinks. It looks to me like isolated areas that have mildew (fungal) and are very common if items are stored inside closets for long periods of time, primarily at an exterior wall. I do a very though job on my inspection and will gladly take responsibility if I am at fault, but this is clearly not an oversight on my part. These areas can be cleaned with Clorox cleaner with no concerns for new growth as long as closet spaces do not have over storage."Well... No, not really. Cleaning and fixing these areas are not easy, and cannot just be "cleaned" with Clorox Bleach. Cabinets and drywall must be removed to find the source of the leaks/mold!!This homeowner paid for an inspection for peace of mind (he has emphysema), and the house is only 16 years old.Inspectors are supposed to look deeper... especially where there might be or is water present. He claims that isn’t true, but I have hundreds of inspections that give clear pictures of just these areas and a lot of inspectors check these spaces with gadgets to make sure moisture isn’t present.Bottom line, he missed A LOT of black mold, and a dishwasher that doesn't work because he refused to "move" items. Then goes on to explain to me that moving items to inspect behind them or under them is not in the job description.Moral to the story, unless the house is completely empty, this isn’t your guy.. He doesn’t move things to inspect behind or under them.
