harrison martin: They have the worst snow removal I’ve ever seen and can’t do anything about it if I could, I would like to remove myself from the association and do it myself that’s how bad it is and that’s if they come out at all so very disappointing

Paula Purdy: Just learned that I have to pay $75 to the Newcomb Group just for them to send a letter to the title company saying dues are paid for a closing. Really??? Property owners pay dues every year (which INCLUDE the management services of Newcomb), so you'd think they could spring for a letter that takes less than 5 minutes to generate? It should be a courtesy to their HOA residents. This cost is unnecessary and seems greedy.

Ni Va: In attempt to make payment online, it was adding a late payment of $25 additional, even though payment was not late. When I called and asked her about it she said they would investigate and call me back. When they finally called back the following day, she said there was a glitch in their system and their tech guy in a different state was ‘out’ for the next couple of weeks and if I wanted to pay online I had no choice but to pay an additional $25. No offer was made that if I did this any reimbursement would be made. I would simply be out $25 because of their ‘glitch’. This is unacceptable. Clearly I was not going to do that so I found a different way to pay for that quarter, which I might add was highly inconvenient: we were out of town for several weeks, we didn’t have any checks with us (since we didn’t anticipate needing them) and the company does not accept credit cards over the phone.Three months later when I tried to pay it again the same glitch was still happening and again it was adding an additional $25 late fee for September dues even though it was August. They had not fixed it even though the previous time I had let the company know and a member of our association board know. Again, completely unacceptable. I proceeded to email the company about the September ‘glitch’ but never received a response. I then again contacted a member of the association board who seemed surprised to learn that it was not yet fixed. I just hope that other members did not blindly pay that without realizing. If the feature is offered, it should work correctly and if there is a glitch, it should be fixed in a timely manner.Also, the business has no physical location for a client to go to.Now I will say that once when we called about a different matter and spoke with someone other than the owner, the gentleman was very helpful and polite but other than that one encounter, our overall experience with the company over the last 10 years has been negative.
M Thoma: I am the President of Bittersweet Moors Association for the last three years and have had Board experience with The Newcomb Group for 12 years. I am rebutting the complaint concerning the $25.00 charge . The member was never charged $25.00 extra for using this service and chose to pay in another manner until we could get the situation resolved. A refund or a credit would have been issued if there ever was an overpayment.The Newcomb Group has done a tremendous job for our Community .

Brian Walter: Had to contact a Stacey regarding installing a fence on my property. Was told I needed a survey for the project to be approved (not easy to get one scheduled and very expensive) after three months finally got the survey completed at the expense of $650.00. Resubmitted my request only to be told…we already approved the project…back in June…had “technical difficulties with our email” aka…forgot to let you know…oops. Pretty expensive and rather unprofessional mistake in communication. Guess I didn’t need that survey after all. Anyone living in Kendallville who has a proposed project…I’d just bypass the red tape. If they can’t figure out how to communicate via email they won’t know whether you added a fence or pool for that matter.
K B: I called in with a simple request to either change snow plow contractors or to pay the contractor more money as they never plow our addition until after all the snow has been packed down and turned our addition into an icerink. Don't normally leave reviews but I have no had one pleasant experience with this place. Any suggestion or complaint is immediately met with hostility as if they're taking it personally. I have plowed snow in the past and the girl answering the phone had the audacity to tell me it doesn't matter when you plow the snow, lol this place is an absolute dumpster fire. My friend worked here in high school and man oh man the things he has told me. Moving and not dealing with this place can't come fast enough.

A Google User: Poor service since using this firm. They tell you one thing and do another, on multiple occasions. The work they contract out is poorly completed, The lowest quotes are not always the best subcontractors to use. After an exterior wiring issue, they left live, open wiring sticking out above ground for instance. During snow removal they pushed snow the wrong way creating a large pile blocking cars in their carport. Over $200 later another company was paid to remove the pile. No one has ever returned a call when I have had a problem or issue and a message has been left. Extremely irritating to pay to have things done properly after their people have caused problems or done shoddy work. After having been in the service profession for 23 years before retiring, stay clear from this firm. I greatly miss the old maintenance company we used for years. He got things done and got them done correctly.
