Indiana LASIK Centers: what do users think?
Adam Lamb: Everyone (doctors and support staff) are fantastic! Very friendly and inviting environment. I highly recommend them if you are considering Lasik. I wish I would have gotten this done 20 years ago, it's so nice to not have to put on glasses or contacts to see.
javier chang: **For the love of whatever god you believe in, do your own research**Getting Lasik is a severe matter; weigh out the pros and cons.I got my Lasik about two months ago. My experience was pleasant; I researched and got multiple opinions from different eye doctors if I'm a candidate for Lasik.Customer service- I give it a five star, don't expect a deep conversation about the meaning of life. The people at the front desk are there to do their job, not listen to your mediocre life.Cleanliness- Super clean and somewhat dark.Professionalism: The doctors and nurses are friendly and kind-spirited, but they are doctors and nurses, don't expect them to be your besties. My lasik went super well and I didn't develop any side effects.
Christa Pratt: If zero stars was an option, that’s what I would choose. Three cancelled procedures, three months in a row!!!I was scheduled for Lasik April 2022 in Mishawaka. I showed up for scheduled time, driving from Fort Wayne, approximately 2 hour commute, paid for the procedure and went through post op instructions. When called back to room, I was informed by the doctor, the A/C was out and no surgeries would be completed.I rescheduled for May 2022. While 45 minutes into my drive to Mishawaka, I received a call telling me there was an issue with the laser and surgery was cancelled AGAIN! (Second PTO day wasted!!)Hoping third time is a charm, I rescheduled once again for today, June 14, 2022. Due to storm night prior, I called the facility prior to getting ready to verify they had power, which they confirmed. Then approximately 30 minutes before the time I was leaving, they called me to post pone the surgery time 2 hours, stating their HVAC went out with the storm last night, however it was being fixed at that time and ensured me surgeries would still take place. I called back prior to leaving to verify the A/C had been restored & was informed it was still a go. An hour into my drive, they called me to cancel stating issue with the laser. Third PTO day wasted and no Lasik! This has emotionally and physically draining. My vision is and has been poor my entire life. Glasses since first grade & contacts since third grade, and what I thought would be a dream come true, has actually been a living nightmare.
Karen Curtland: He's a great doctor, surgery went smoothly and everyone was so friendly. The day after I have perfect vision.I highly recommend this doctor.
Crystal Reinhard: Not happy at all with my lasik procedure. Had it done a year ago and still have extremely dry eyes and blurry vision every day. I get no answers either and nothing seems to cure it. Also the front office lady was extremely rude...i had an appointment scheduled to see the Dr. for a follow-up and she said that he couldn't see me. She said they tried to call me to cancel but i never got the memo. There was a mixup and I had to drive 45 min just to be told that i couldn't be seen. Very unprofessional and I'm not happy. I do not recommend getting lasik as you never know if you will be one with vision problems and worse off after the surgery.
Rashel Oesterling: Dr. Coleman was amazing. He told me everything that was going to happen during the surgery. I had a nice massage before the procedure to relax me a little more. I also was able to meet Dr.Imes the medical director. I thought that was wonderful of him to come and speak with me as well. Dr.Coleman did a wonderful job of relaxing me throughout the surgery. Everyone was so great from the receptionist to the, I'm going to assume, office manager. The guy that went over the post op procedures/walked me out to the car. The ladies that were in the surgery room. Thank you all for making me feel so comfortable. I would do it all again and wouldn't hesitate to choose Indiana Lasik Centers. Oh and Dr. Coleman drives two hours on surgery days. That's dedication!!!!
Chelsea Lynch: All of the staff were amazing when I had questions. They helped for calm my nerves before surgery and I can do all of my follow-ups in my home town. I am seeing better than ever and recovery was a breeze! Best decision I have ever made for myself!
Sierra: Horrible service . The lady with the glasses in the front was super rude and needs to maybe work with the dead since she is not good with people. The doctor good have been more professional. People come to these places because they are sick and in need of care so that should be taken into consideration. Be careful because you ll never know when you or tour relative will need care .
Ben Anderson: I had my Lasik done the week before Christmas. I did have some discomfort for about 3 hours after the procedure, but it went away. Less than 24 hours after the procedure I had my first post check up at my optometrist and had better than 20/20. It is now 2 weeks past my procedure and I can see better, crisper and sharper than I have had with my best contact lens. ALL the staff was professional and great to be around. A+ all around. My only regret is that I waited till almost 25 years to get this done. It felt so great to throw away my unused contacts and donate my eye glasses. Thanks Indiana Lasik Centers!
Mark F: They called me and cancelled my surgery the day of saying their laser wasnt working. They said theyd call me to reschedule but never did. That's ok because I'd never go somewhere that has a bad laser for eye surgery. I had to move a lot of things around to schedule this so for them to cancel last minute is unacceptable. Fyi if the patient cancels it's a huge fee but no repercussions for them. I will be going elsewhere.
Christine Stockman: Very sad that I had this done. I had very poor vision before, but at least I could get by with a pair of glasses. Now I need a pair of glasses for reading, a different pair of glasses to see my computer and yet a different pair of glasses for driving. My eye doctor said they under-corrected my eyes, so it will be this way forever unless I go back for an enhancement. Well.. since they didn't do it right the first time, I have no intention of going back. I would be scared to death that I wouldn't be able to see anything if they tried it again. I would definitely not recommend this place if you are considering LASIK surgery.
Shantel Somerlott: I had LASIK done on Feb. 28, 2018 and am LOVING every bit of my new life! The procedure was a neat experience, to say the least. I have been telling all of my friends, this was money well spent and I would do it again if I had to. The staff was amazing and very caring and informative. The entire process was well organized and comforting, I felt nothing during the procedure but could see it all. The post-op instructions are precise and when followed, I had zero pain when I woke up the next day. There was a slight bit of discomfort on procedure day but you just sleep it off. I highly recommend this procedure to anyone looking to ditch the glasses/contacts and discover a whole new world! Just think about the day you'll be able to see EVERYTHING as soon as you wake up and when you're in the shower. Thank you Indiana LASIK Center!
Jeff Logsdon: The entire staff was very helpful and friendly. My procedure was a bit difficult but everyone in the room was patient and professional and did an excellent job. I also had more discomfort than usual after getting home that day but again the staff was helpful and responsive and gave me some numbing drops which got me through the evening. I'm now at 20/15 and very pleased with the results.
Daniel Dea: Had a combo of RESTOR™ lens and LASIK to get rid of my Coke bottle glasses. That was in June of 2011. Dr. Huges was great. Here 6 years out would only need a touch-up. Go do it. Pamper yourself!!!!
Mary-Ann Back: My daughter had surgery yesterday and we were very pleased with the staff and the results! She commented on how friendly and kind the doctor was, and that he was very good at keeping her calm. The best part is that for the first time in 11 years she could see without glasses when she woke up this morning!
Covado Jones: Overall a great experience! In and out the day of procedure. The staff were very professional. Very relaxed environment. 3/12/15

Cataract & Laser Institute: what do users think?
Chris Hamilton: Had the laser cataract surgery on both eyes done. I opted for distance vision . The left eye was first and the right eye was done 2 weeks later, Dr Long performed the surgeries. Could not be happier with the results. The surgeries were completed with no complications. Checked in at 6:45 and was in car by 10:00 both times. Two thumbs up!
Dr. Bill Todorovic: They do a good job medically, but they rip people off financially. They estimated one amount, but the outcome was almost double the cost. With the recent changes, regular optometrist can do many of the same duties. Check with your doctor so you dont get skinned alive financially.
Marsha Linton: I am extremely happy that I can read and enjoy not wearing glasses. It was an extremely stressful process. The procedures and follow ups were not communicated well. The communication between the techs, doctors and myself were not always the same or given with confidence. The office was always behind, busy and overwhelming. My procedure was not simple cataract surgery, probably one of my worse medical experiences.
Patricia Jimenez: Ridiculously long waits. Surgery only takes20to 40 mins
Fifi Larue: This little lady is sooo very happy with my "new" eyes! I see individual leaves on the tops of the trees. Most importantly, I can now see my husband's face from across the room! No discomfort at all. thank you to Jill and all of the others who helped make my experience a joyful one. A big "Hey Woman"! to the lady at the front desk. She's a keeper.
Susan Prather: After not being able to wear a contact to see in one eye for two weeks the day before cataract surgery this place called to inform us my lense did not come in! Two more weeks being blind before getting in. Keep in mind the lense that "did not come in" was not even corrective! Arrived today to NO parking spaces in the entire facility, and NOT one empty seat in the waiting room!!!!!! This place is a straight nightmare. Find ANY other place to have your work done.
Jane Jorgensen: I had the most wonderful pre-op team of nurses: Mary, Lisa, and Becky. Any anxiety I initially had went away with their care. I can only hope they'll be on deck for my next procedure! Thank you!
Joy Bennett: Extremely great experience in having 2 cateract surgery’s. . Very good at explaining the steps in the process from beginning to end. Easy process for getting all your appointments. From what choices are on coverage of your insurance will pay to out of pocket expenses.Surgery center nurses very thoughtful but assurance that you’re here for you. Very thorough.!As soon as your process starts from exams and knowledge to the Surgical center. Hats off to all the personnel was exceptional. They make you feel that your care is as important to them as to you!
Roger Carter: The staff is great, the wait time was what they said. The only 3 things I wished was different: 1. I got the regular cataract surgery with the lens for my farsightedness being corrected. Only time I heard for farsightedness lens being offered to corrected it was with the laser surgery (2 grand more an eye, insurance did not cover it). On the follow up, the nurse told m I could’ve gotten the lens to correct my nearsightedness. Too late, but I wished I would’ve known.2 never met the surgeon before or after the surgery3 day of the surgery, felt like a number— EXCEPT for the pre op nurses they were very personable. After the surgery rushed out the door.I would go again, but would’ve asked the lens to correct my nearsightedness.
SandraS: All staff were very friendly and professional! They answered all of my questions and very courteous!
Steven Hines: Long waits. Confusing explanation of results.
Barbara Pelz: Very well taken care of. Liked the professional handling .Every thing explained for me.
Daniel Gnagy: People are great that work there. For real....theregreat
Ed Graf: I came to the institute yesterday for a cataract surgery consultation. Prior to arrival, I was told to expect it to take three hours. When all was said and done, it took, three hours. Kudos for setting appropriate expectations and keeping them.I was first seen by Katie, who was warm and engaging. She took my initial eye scans, or whatever they call them, and transferred me to Jill. Jill is a highly proficient technician whose competence was abundantly evident in the precise manner in which she performed her work. The last thing Jill did was dilate my eyes before dropping me off in a darkened waiting room.I was then picked up to have a visit with Dr. DeWit, who took measurements of my eye in preparation for lens selection. He did an excellent and logical job of explaining my different options, which included pros & cons along with costs & insurance coverage. His explanations were clear, and there were no unanswered questions. His demeanor and confident competence gave me assurance that these people know what they’re doing.Dr. DeWit then transferred me back to Katie to do one additional scan based on something he had seen during our time together. After Katie was done, she set me up with April for scheduling. April was kind, and very clear, working with my and my wife’s schedule to get the surgeries & follow-ups (both with them and my current doctor) set up. She gave us a paper with all appointments in order, along with all the pre-surgery requirements, which she ensured I understood. After all that, I was transferred to a nice lady with “lemonade braids”, whose name I didn’t catch. She did all the checkout paperwork and charged me my copay of $33 and change.I know this was just the initial consult, and the real proof will be when they start working with my eyes. What I can say at this point is that the entire experience gave me great piece of mind to entrust the care of my eyes to them. I hope to update you all after everything wraps up in late August.
Aria Creative: Waiting time is just unacceptable!!! They make you come in way too early before your appt time. The check is awkward. You check in at the front then wait an hour, go to another window to basically do the same thing over except they have you sign paperwork. Then you sit back down and wait another 30 min to be called in. Just silly!!! Your picture is taken twice for some reason. Why if the picture taken in the first place? Very uncomfortable. There’s at least 2 hours waisted time before you go in for your procedure. Please restructure, seems there’s amount staff but no efficiency.
Kenny T: great staff and ery professional Special thanks to Rissa for her assistance today
Daniel Galey: Wow! What an experience! Thanks to Rissa, Dr. DeWitt, and Dr. Hughes for making it less stressful. I have been like Mr. Magoo my entire life. Loving clear and focused vision!
April Stephens: This is a very busy place but it is amazing to see the excellent care that my husband received here. We are very pleased with the outcome and the quality of care. The doctors are excellent and very patient in answering questions. The technicians are always kind and also patient. Autumn was wonderful every time that we saw her. She made you feel like you cared instead of just another patient. Everyone is very friendly.
Tammy Steury: I drove my elderly friend an hour one way to her appointment only to be told it was rescheduled in a month because anesthesiologist went home early. Was told they attempted to call her day before with busy signal but elderly friend was home all day and nothing on caller ID. Maybe since her appointment was at 2:00 today they could’ve tried this morning as well if they really wanted to reach her. I’m sure no one will be reimbursing me for the half day of work that I lost. Looks like from other reviews, this isn’t out of the ordinary. I would not recommend this office!
Karen Clugston: My husband had an appointment on Thursday 1.6.22 to have film removed from his past carteract surgery on his left eye. Procedure called Yag Laser Capsulotomy. Came out of it with flying colors. Very glad he had it done and when his right eye needs it we will be back. Staff was very friendly and professional Autumn preformed the eye exam with the assistance of CeCe. Dr. McGarvey did the evaluation and Dr Hughes did the laser surgery which took about 90 seconds. We were there from 1:10pm for our 1:30appt and left the facility at 4:20 pm. Plan on being there for several hours.Overall was happy with the staff and doctors and the results of my husband's two eye surgeries. The receptionist Crystal was very rude both times that I inquired about what we were paying and what our Co pays were for. She was very short with us and not impressed with her people skills which she has none!!
Kelley Woodall: I have had to wear glasses since I was 5-6 years old and I had my right eye surgery last week and I have NOT had to wear my glasses. I'm here today to have my left eye done and then I'll just need reading glasses. Thank you to all of you for my wonderful early Christmas gift of sight back. I will recommend you to anyone I meet.

The Eye Center of Fort Wayne: what do users think?
Nicky Williams: I had cataracts removed from both eyes and am highly satisfied with the level of service and the professionalism of the staff. Dr Ponugoti performed both surgeries and I am highly satisfied with her level of expertise and her kindness. The staff is wonderful, I wish I could remember all the names but Kay at the check out desk is multi-tasking all the time yet still giving you her attention. Jen is a great nurse and makes you feel like you've made a new friend. Desiree was so kind and makes you feel like getting the pressure tested in your eyes is a stroll in the park. Tyler is very efficient in scheduling the surgeries and keeping delays on track. The very first gentleman I met prior to surgery was so kind and explained everything that would be happening (I wish I could remember his name).I would highly recommend the Eye Center of Fort Wayne and Doctor Ponugoti to anyone who needs eye care.
carolyn Sprunger: I was very pleased with the people at Fort Wayne Eye Center. I had cataract surgery on both eyes. I was treated extremely good. Everyone was nice and kind.
Kenton Ganger: This the first time that I've gone to the Eye Center for anything having to do with my eyes.
sheila johnson: Do not recommend. Had appt at 905 am, it is now 1110 am and still haven't seen provider. No sense of urgency to see patients.
Vinayak Juvvadi: I had eye pain and Dr. Padma Ponugoti took care and my pain is gone
Narsinga Juvvadi: Great Doctor, true professional
C: They are some of the best doctors in Indiana. Dr. French and Dr. Parent. I took my mother to them for years. She had macular degeneration in both eyes. Even though her mother had it, she still couldn't understand why doctors couldn't fix her. It runs in are family. Over the years I had taken my mother to many doctors. She had good insurance but she spent a lot of money out of pocket because she just couldn't except it couldn't be fix. She was a very intelligent woman and read everything she could about it until she couldn't see to read anymore. The doctors we're very kind to her even though they had to explain it to her over and over again at every appointment. They always treated her with respect (not like a child like many other doctors tried to). Yes, sometimes you will have a long wait, but you have to understand they have emergencys all the time. They come first, and they should. I'm at the age my mother was when she started losing her eyesight. I would of given my mother one of my eyes if I could of. It's a terrible thing to lose your eyesight. If you have someone you love losing their eyesight be kind and have a lot of patience with them. When they are gone you always wish you could of done better. I will be making a appointment for myself soon.P.S. She always got a kick out of the gift bags. She would show everyone what you gave her. She was very appreciative.
Vicki Oedy: Panda Ponugotl, M.D. was excellent performing my cataract surgery. I highly recommend her.
Judy S: What a place, great staff & Dr's. Highly recommend!
Linda Davis: These are the most outstanding people! The doctors are awesome and so are the entire staff. The service is top notch. I cannot sing their praises enough! I will recommend them to everyone
Gail Grieser: The Eye Center has provided the highest level of care both pre op and post op care. The medical staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. I would highly recommend this facility for premium eye care.
Mia Kelsaw: Cataract/RLE surgery was my best option for my needs and the results are phenomenal! I went from having a VERY STRONG lense prescription/ pop bottled eyeglasses for numerous years to now being eyeglass free and feeling as though I have perfect vision--😊! In addition to a successful procedure (and recovery), Dr. Parent and the entire staff have been exemplary during this entire process from start to present. Highest regard to Dr. Ponugoti for her professionalism, customer service, kindness, and caring spirit.
Joseph Schaper: I went in the office to check on my dad. He was in there for more than 2 hours. I asked the receptionist about what is taking so long. My dad was waiting the longest and they were giving excuses for the time length. I've never had to wait this long for any doctor's appointment. They were rude and brushed me off. Don't waste your time with these people. They will make up lies in front of you!!
Ann Renier: The results are amazing and so was the experience. Dr. Ponugoti is a beautiful person and an amazing surgeon. Her team are professional , courteous and all with wonderful personalities. I was so impressed with Stephen on how he took time to explain all of the tests and what to expect. Thank you to Dr. Gill for keeping a sharp eye on my needs.Thank you to the surgical prep team and the front desk team for their patience.God Bless All and keep you safeWe need more like you
Lynne Westerman: What an excellent experience!! I couldn’t be happier that I chose the Eye Center of Fort Wayne. Dr. Ponugoti is an amazing surgeon and took excellent care of me. Her staff was wonderful and Stephen was so thorough and prepared me so well for my surgery! A huge thank you to everyone there!
Leigh Tilley: I had the best experian. I was given much care, concern, all the information i needed. I was so scared they calmed my fears! Thank you so much : Dr. Ponugoti she is amazing, Steven was si informative, Emily so sweet, Suzanne in the ER was a god send. Thank you, thank you!!!
Rachel McNeely: My husband's eyes were REALLY bad. We started out at the other place in town. After being shuffled through and charged for around $600 (that we were not aware we were going to be charged for), and another unexpected bill (for $225 in unknown charges), I called the Eye Center. I can NOT say enough good things about the Eye Center. Everyone was so kind. They KNOW (and remember) our names! Upfront/flat (NO HIDDEN) costs! Reasonable payment arrangements and .......... we were treated with dignity and respect by EVERYONE! Seriously, don't mess around with the other place. The Eye Center is where you want to go if you want to be treated the way patients should be. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Ashley Josephsen: The Eye Center has very awesome tech staff! Every tech I’ve worked with has been very caring and personable. Dr. French is also great, but the interaction Dr. Parent has with his staff is honestly hard to watch. He is very impatient, disrespectful, and rude to the workers helping him. After my visit, I decided I will not being going back due to that. Also wait times are extremely long. I’ve never been and left in less than 2.5 hours.
Kim Canada: They're awesome. Really nice and accommodating. Haven't seen this well since Jr high
Dave Martin: I had a First Class Experience and Results for cataracts from First Class caring and knowledgeable Staff, Doctors, and Surgeons at The Eye Center of Fort Wayne.
Dont put up with stupidity: Don't waste your time with these rude people. Making patients wait for hours for nothing. I just witnessed a lady get put in a room an hour ago and still no doctor or tech has went in to her room. Talked with another patient saying they were there since 9 am and here it is noon already for one test that takes an hour to complete they were even put back in the lobby to wait for doctor results. Too many staff members standing around doing nothing and or walking past the lobby several time doing nothing. Can't believe they have so many staff walking up and down the hallway as if they are trying to reach their step goals.

Dr. John R. Parent, MD: what do users think?
Patricia Rugg (Pattycake): I think he is the best and highly recommend their practice!!👍 Serched 2 other places and remembered that my Mom came here for her eyes. He also cleaned the tear ducts of my infant 41 years ago. There is no time limit on perfection. By the by ,he was also cheaper than the 2 competitors
Mindy Saaf-Nicewonger: Very disappointed in our experience with Dr. Parent and staff. Not a covid safe I environment at all. My mother is 85 and has dementia. The wait time is not acceptable, they promised they would get us in quickly and we waited over a hour.. 1st off he doesn’t even do the procedure another Dr. Does it. If anything he is a greeter and very unprofessional. Instead of reassure us of how her eye was doing he was more concerned with giving her a rain jacket, cup and other promotional gifts with his name on them, and bragging of his number one rating as eye doctor in Indiana. Not once did he say anything of continued eye care, he was most concerned to get her back in for her other money making eye. He should be ashamed and retire and his ratings are falling quick.
Amber: Id love to give 5 stars. Staff is all great and doctors are all great. They even worked in husband who had an emergency. I wanted to give 1 star for the horrible long wait. 2 waiting rooms. Long hours. But, since they did such a great job with husband's torn retina and same day surgery, I'm giving 4. When u go there, you cannot take frustration out on staff.
Susan Eversole: Worst experience ever! I Will never go back, my surgery was a total failure ,my vision is worse now that before and all they do is give you excuses. So I'm stuck paying almost $1200 out of pocket and have Nothing to show for it!
Debbie Leslie: They were absolutely wonderful. Dr Parent knows his business. Has an amazing bedside manner.
Nancy Austin: Dr. Parent put in a multifocal lens which he told me I would be able to see both distance and up close. He bragged about being one of the 10 ophthalmologist in the nation who had advanced education inthe multifocal lens placement using the laser technique. I was unable to see distance or up close.I got a second opinion from another ophthalmologist in Fort Wayne who told me the lens wasn't centered and referred me to the Midwest Eye Institute in Indianapolis.I had to go under general anesthesia to have the lens removed that Dr. Parent had put in. The doctor said that the lens was torn near my nose. When I returned the next morning to have the patch removed I was able to see clearly instantly. So I would never recommend Dr. Parent to anybody to have cataract surgery.....I
Danielle Baldwin: The most unprofessional staff ever. You wait 2-3 hours to see the doctor while there are litterally 10staff members standing around in the back office talking about their personal lives and have the nerve to become upset when they are asked how much longer it will take for the doctor to see the paitent who will request for you to come back in a month to do it all over again with no plan to actually help correct your vision but will still take your money with a smile. Absolute Garbage Service all the way around. You would be better served visiting another location and not wasting your time.
C: I always know I'm getting the best treatment and advice for my eye health.
Connor Stephen: Patients are always taken care of to the best of all of the staff’s abilities. Dr. Parent, Dr. Ponugoti, Dr. Gill, Dr. French, and Dr. Zink are all amazing doctors as well as being genuinely nice people. I highly recommend anybody to make an appointment if they are having eye issues.
bluto blutarsky: You wait all day then he comes in the last minute.it's a joke
Michelle Diss: Dr.Parents Doctors & Staff are very helpful. They do there best to do what they can for the patient & expectations so of so many people that come to their office.
Michael Fisher: Everytime we come here the wait is extremely long and frustrating! Always three to four hours. Primarily from over booking. On top of that we were quoted $1175 out of pocket for an ocular implant then received another bill for close to $300. The vision is only a small fraction better than what it was and still requires the use of glasses when we were told they would only be needed for driving and reading! We were told we were up next at 4:00pm and its now 5:00pm and no Dr. Our original appointment was scheduled at 2:20pm.
