We had found items that we were interested in at big box stores and were looking to see if we could tweak them in to our liking by going to a specialty store. Sales person was very negative and felt us feel unwelcome. If you have a “showroom” you need to be prepared to cater to ordinary people out shopping.

Darby Fleming: Went here for a watch battery change and the service was so fast if youd blink youd miss it. Also priced reasonable for a specialty store too. The help there was no nonsense great and fast !

John Nash (Kubulai): People at the local store were fine. Battery was ordered on-line, supposedly in stock, but had to be trucked in. Truck broke down. So buy on-line and made three trips to store to get it installed. The web store needs to be improved to communicate accurately on stock and delivery status with customers. Also their cell phone batteries are only guaranteed for 6 months and may swell up to break your phone (personal experience). They'll be happy to charge you to fix what their defective battery broke.

John Sheehan: I've been here several times - the guys are knowledgeable, helpful and if they don't have it, they will get it for you (if it exists). They have a program for lifetime charge for your key fob, good at ANY Batteries Plus. They may not solve every problem in the world but if it has to do with batteries, this is the place.
Joel Steffy: I brought my iPhone X into the Washington Center location to have my phone battery repaired, as it would not hold a charge. I left my phone there, and when I returned, the battery was replaced, but my screen would no longer work correctly. I could not swipe up or return to my home screen. I went back into the store and spoke with Jay at the front desk. He was unapologetic and was not helpful in any way. I told him that the screen was not working and he offered no suggestions and did not apologize for ruining the screen. He said I could purchase a new screen for $140.I told him I should not have to pay for a new screen, since it was fully functional when I dropped it off. I left batteries plus, and went to AT&T. They then sent me to geek squad. Geek squad told me that it was up to batteries plus to fix the problem. After returning to batteries plus, no employees offered ways to help or apologies. We lost $100 and the staff was completely unhelpful. We do not recommend batteries plus to anyone.

Michelle Burns: This Wagon Wheel Chandelier hung in my Man's, Father's Bar for many years. My Fiance has been hauling it around for approximately 35 years hoping to eventually use it. A couple of months ago we took it to John at Fort Wayne Lighting. He was very kind, very honest & very fair price wise. He rewired & repaired it, and polished it up to an absolutely beautiful state! Today we finally got it hung in our living room. We couldn't be happier!!!! We Highly recommend John for all your specialty lighting needs. Thank you!!!!

Dandelion Girl: John repaired 2 antique lamps for me. One was my mother's old gas lamp. He safely rewired it, cleaned it up and straightened the part that holds the shade. He exceeded our expectations on this lamp by making it easier to turn on and off with a switch at the bottom. The other lamp he repaired was a 1940s gooseneck desk lamp that was not wired correctly. This lamp was rewired safely and I am now comfortable using it. He made this lamp even better by replacing the brass bulb holder with a silver one to match the lamp!John was very gracious. He played the lovely Wurlitzer carousel organ for us as well as his beautiful player piano. We loved hearing about some of the other wonderful antiques. It was great to be in the historical home and a nice bonus. His prices are very reasonable. The repairs are done correctly and promptly. I would never take any of my antique lamps to anyone else and I suggest anyone reading this to do the same. I highly recommend John Hicho and Fort Wayne Lighting Services.Julie A.

Derrick Gatt: I have an antique fixture that was passed down to me from my grandparents that was absolutely stunning and complicated. The only downside was that it was in need of major repair and restoration. After visiting 6 other lighting companies and being turned down by every single one based off the fact that how intricate the fixture is... I finally found John Hicho and Fort Wayne Lighting. John assured me that not only would he be able to fix it, he would be able to restore it back to it's original glory. He was a walking encyclopedia on not only lighting, but so many other subjects involving history and antiques. A few days later John had me swing by to pick up the fixture and I was mind blown on how amazing it looked. For the modest service cost, he was able to restore it better than it looked straight from the factory. The tour of his amazing historical house really topped off my customer experience from John and I can't recommend him enough!Also make sure he plays the Wurlitzer carousel organ for you because that is a once in a lifetime experience!
