Lindenwood Cemetery: what do users think?
Omega: If you walk the entire path, it is 2.6 miles around. I used to walk the cemetery for a while as it was peaceful!
Judy Burford Rivera: Hello, I just buried my son there a month ago. Tried to go in to see him today the day after Christmas to put something on his grave. Gates are closed and locked. I don't understand this? I just couldn't go yesterday it was too hard on me. So his brother and I tried to go and could not get in. Can anyone tell me why?
Douglas Freeman: Very scenic and picturesque. Very nice; but small chapel.
Ryan Harrington: Beautiful and relaxing cemetery with rolling hills and old-growth trees
Brenda Jones: I made arrangements with Lindenwood for my plot and burial several years back that I am still paying on. At the time I made arrangements I was lied to and was advised that my dogs cremated remains could be buried with me. I now find out that the salesman lied. Now I have to make an appointment to see what else they lied about. They are supposed to resolve this matter but I am not holding my breath. They call me every two weeks trying to sell me something but the salesman can’t return my call. Lindenwood is not trustworthy.
R D: Beautiful and peaceful.
Madi Schwemer: Beautiful cemetery. Highly recommend visiting if you like cemeteries. Hands down the most beautiful one I've been to so far. Rest in peace to all the souls laid to rest there.
A. S.: Thank you Lindenwood Staff and Services for you’re assistance with the burial of my mother, with nothing being planned and it being all so sudden, I am very grateful for allowing a place where majority of members that have passed on are also located, thank you Jeanne for your knowledge and education on resources if we need it, and also with the planning to get a tombstone but I mostly want to thank the cemetery. Been a hard process but easier with Mungovan and Lindenwood during the time. Appreciate your professionalism and sympathy during the hardest thing I could ever imagine having to go through. THANK YOU!
Bianca Easterly: My father told me years before he became ill that he wanted Lindenwood Cemetery to be his final resting place. Lindenwood Cemetery is where his mother, father, sister, and countless other relatives are buried. When he became terminally ill last year, I reached out to Lindenwood to make arrangements and received excellent customer service from Tammy Lugar. She reached out and offered kind words. When he passed in May 2020, she made sure that everything was in place. I couldn't have been happier with the service I received from Tammy and the Lindenwood staff at that time.Today, I am deeply disappointed with the service I've received. Lindenwood notified in January that they were ready to put a niche place on his crypt and asked how I would like his name spelled. Since then, I have had to call no less than once a month to check on the plate's status. It took months for a plate to come in, and when it did, it wasn't his name as I had specified. I have been calling for months to correct the plate and receive a picture of his crypt to share with family and friends who do not live in Fort Wayne. I have emailed and left countless messages with promises that someone will return my call - I'm still waiting. What I am asking for (and paid for (in full) in May 2020) is so small but means so much to my family and me. It breaks my heart that my father has been gone for over a year, and his crypt still doesn't have his name on it. He wanted to spend eternity at Lindenwood, but I don't feel as though Lindenwood wants him.
Felicia Cartwright: The staff is very courteous and mindful of our needs. I recommend Lindenwood for all your needs! Oh by the way Jeanie is awesome!
Karen DuGuay: Google maps shows the cemetery is open 24 hours. Arrived at 6:30 am to photograph the sunrise and found gates locked. Only signs saying “cemetery closes & gates locked at sunset”. No sign saying when gates will be unlocked. Please update availability times. Thank you.
George Snyder: My wife and I stopped in at Lindenwood Cemetery on our regular visit to stop and pay respects to our loved ones this afternoon.Lindenwood is a very old dated cemetery and is very scenic and beautiful area. The current upkeep of the Cemetery seems nice, although we did notice a couple of broken urns and a few toppled gravestones. There's lots of narrow curvy roads some of the hills are quite steep, but it all adds to the beauty of the area. Driving your vehicle past another vehicle is safe if you go slowly. However some areas two cars barely fit. There is also a large variety of trees in lindenwood. I'm not sure how many different types of trees are there but they are strikingly old and beautiful.Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana, was founded in July 1859, and opened to the public on May 30, 1860. With over 69,000 graves and covering 175 acres it is one of the larges cemeteries in Indiana.+ According to the national register of historic places.
Jim Gray: Beautiful place especially in Spring time
Tanicius Haut: During the initial phase of the process the staff was very informative and accommodating however after they were selected and payments were made we have had nothing but trouble. My brother and I have made calls and sent emails in regards to having the headstone placed only to have emails and phone calls unanswered. To add frustration to an already painful experience is deplorable. I would not recommend using this location.
Dru Mikel: I don't know if this is meant to review the burial services, groundskeeping, or something else, but I've been visiting this cemetary since I was an infant, and I can't remember a time where it was anything short of Elysian.I can not think of a better place in northern Indiana to lay your loved ones to rest.
Aaron Richey: This is such a sacred place located West of Downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. With that being said, this is a beautiful cemetery. Established in the year, 1859. It sits on 175-180 acres. They have around 70,000 grave sites. This cemetery lays rest to a lot of famous people including. Samuel Hanna, Jesse L. Williams, Allen Hamilton, Colonel George W. Ewing, Paul Frank Baer, Daisy E. Nirdlinger and Arthur "Art" Roy Smith. I recommend taking a walk or a slow drive, and respect the cemetery rules.
Laura Dunn: There are a few places where headstones have toppled over and need to be reset. But otherwise it is a beautiful and peaceful Cemetery.
Brett: A hauntingly beautiful place. Lots of interesting headstones and history. Lots of very important folks in Fort Wayne's history were laid to rest here. Some names you'll recognize here are as follows; Ewing, Shoaff, McMillen, Baals, and many others.Lindenwood Cemetery is essentially a State Park in terms of size, beauty, and history. There's a stunning stone chapel nestled into the heart of the grounds, not visible from the road.Grounds are immaculate, and very well kept. It's always a pleasure to visit Lindenwood!
Amie Cain: Beautiful and the grounds are well kept.
Angie Hughes: i love this cemetery my son is in babyland section i wish someone would post pictures of that section my son died in 1993 i was only 18 but this funreal ome has done goodi thank them and they are good people my son was and still is edward allen form,an he s in the babyland section please some post some pioctures of baby land. i had to move to kentucky because of deamestick voilce and them i hade too more kids (girls they took them from me here but there still mine tothank you lindewood cemterey for 26 years of help taking care of my son grave. them dont do that here f dont clean it s sad how people are here .
Donald Vibbert: I went there to visit my grandmother that I just recently passed. And as soon as I came in the place they started following me in their vehicles like I was going to do something wrong or I was gonna break the law. Now I was in my work van which is a white Ford E2 50 but that’s besides the point I went there to visit my grandmother and I felt like I was being looked on or being spied on because I didn’t look a certain way. Now as I left the place I seen the vehicle that was back where I was visiting my grandmother and after I passed them then they started to go in followed me all the way out and then parked at the office so I knew that it was employees and that they were watching me for what reason I do not know. But bottom line I didn’t feel the i was being respected so i could greeve. It actually pisses me off. But i guess the people that work at this place are super judgemental. I think people like that really suck.

Christopher Busche: Thank you Elizza Wesner for your help. Polite, professional, will call again. Thank you
beth miller: I visit my Grandparents grave annually. Last year there was a problem with the vase, which is attached to the headstone. I couldn't reach anyone in person while I was in town but finally did by phone. I explained the problem and was assured it would be fixed. I never had a problem in the past when there had a problem, so to say I was upset when I got to the gravesite this year and saw that nothing had been done, wouldn't come close to describing how I felt.Today I actually spoke with a man, I believe his name is John, I explained the problem and he attempted to contact maintenance. When he couldn't reach them, he personally came to the gravesite with some tools to see if he could temporarily fix the situation so that I could leave the flowers for my grandparents. Long story short, he was unable to fix it so he went to see if he could find a vase I could place the flowers in. What he found was the maintenance guys who came out and REPLACED the broken vase while we were there!!Thank you so much for this service!!!
Walker Cason: It’s very nice my neighbor/brother is buried here and I want to be buried here very calm nice and the people there are nice I wish is more than plaques like tombstones but not much to complain rest in peace Nick
Shirley Fredrick: My father was buried here in 1948....my entire immediate family are now buried here, as well.
My Trap Card: hope to end up here soon and end my miserable life
Jackseptic eye: It's where my daughter is buried. There are three crosses on a hill. She is buried right beside them. I know she is in Heaven but her life here was too short. Love and miss you; Sam.
Chris Snyder: The GM of this property is incredibly rude and condescending. Apparently you can't be in the park unless you are visiting someone in particular. I was walking through (On the side of the road, mind you) I didn't walk through the grass in any way. I've been coming here for two years for evening jogs and to unwind after a hard day of work. Never have I ever been disrespectful in any way. If there are families mouring or funerals in procession, I ALWAYS avoid them and steer clear of that whole side of the park. Today was no different and the GM pulls up beside me in a black car. He asked me if I was playing Pokemon Go and I told him yes (I was walking to collect my steps) He proceeds to tell me that it's disrespectful and asked me to leave. Now, I'm not usually one to speak up but this felt like personal discrimination as there was no way to tell what I was doing. I just had my phone out. I told him it's a public domain and he told me it is Not. (The cemetery is called Greenlawn PUBLIC Memorial... There are ZERO trespassing signs and it is not a single family cemetery. I've done a lot of research. If I was being disrespectful in any way, I could understand the hostility but he was VERY rude with me and treated me like I was a trouble maker. I was just walking on the side of the road... If you want to be rude and treat visitors this way maybe you should build a gate and fence and post some signs saying that you can't visit unless you're visiting family or loved ones. I do understand that some people may be rude and disrespectful and that it's sacred ground but I was in no way out of line or disrespectful. I feel like this is something that will need to be discussed in your team because if this happens again, you won't need to worry about pursuing legal action, as I will be suing for discrimination and harassment. Your GM is a very rude man.
Jennifer Williams (#StupidGirl): It's Beautiful, and my Uncle is here.

Toni Espinosa: This is not the 1st time that someone has ran over my love one's grave. Is there a reason why when the road runs right in front of her and no one is behind them.
Daniel Bobay: My family is buried here and when it came time to bury my father the staff were the most helpful with that process.
Christine Hodge: I have a plot here for my late husband and myself. It's well kept and more affordable than many.
Trina Zuniga: We had to bury my Uncles ashes yesterday. When we arrived, we met Mike, the groundskeeper for the last four years. Not only was he very professional and guided and included us in everything he was doing, but he has the cemetery looking absolutely beautiful!. This was not the case before he came. I used to get angry going there and seeing weeds higher than the headstones. Yesterday, every thing was neat, clean, and trimmed especially around the headstones. I'm so glad they hired Mike! Thank you so much, Mike for taking pride in a job very well done!!
Andrea Coker: Who do I contact to ask questions ? There is no phone 🔢

Highland Park Cemetery & Mausoleum: what do users think?
Justine Juju: guess i should’ve read the reviews my father passed away two years ago and still has yet to have his head stone even though it’s BEEN 50% paid off like they said, and I spoke to someone today just to get the status finally somebody returned my call and it’s oops technical difficulties. It’s gonna be another 6 months sending the paperwork today even though we had a trip planned for my dad’s birthday to go see him this year. And that’s it. Just oops. Read the reviews. please
Debbie Fincher: Very caring, professional, kind, thoughtful. AMY did an amazing job.thank you Amy
sue stinnett: Very respectful and professional, I was very pleased. Michael did an awesome job helping me.
Jim Matthews: My parents did the preplanning through Highland Park and dignity memorial and spoke highly of the planning process. They didn’t feel pressured, they were asked for their preferences and their selections and all the details, prices and information about their choices was given to them freely and without pressure. When the time came for the two funerals, everything was in place and all the arrangements were exactly as requested. We were guided through the final necessary details by the funeral Director Jon And I can’t think of a single thing Highland Park could’ve done better.
Vesta Kirkman: We have been trying to get my parents headstone reset for the last 8 years and it is still not correct. My Mom passed in February and the day of us to lay her to rest they said it was to icy for everyone to come to the cemetery. We went anyways and they way the closed the vault did not seem very secure to me. Not impressed with this cemetery at all.
Carolen Green: We emptied our families savings account to get my sister's headstone in by Christmas. They promised 12/3. It's 12/23 and we had to physically go in to get a response on why it's not there. Which was oh well we'll get to it at the end of January. This all proceeds the day of her funeral when they had not even dug the hole yet and had to start that morning. I could not say it louder STAY AWAY FROM HERE. They know they have you while your grieving and over promise and under deliver. My sister and my family deserved better.
Patsy Brewer: Highland Park does not have that morbid feeling like most cemeteries. It is a warm and lively atmosphere.
Joe Hamilton: They were very supportive and thoughtful with all our family .
Shirley Davis: Highland Park Cemetery did an excellent job working with the funeral home for the after lunch burial ceremony. Thank you for finding the pall bearers for us. We appreciate all the attention you paid to our needs.
HD VLOGS (HD VLOGS): I came to visit my baby’s grave and as I was leaving and driving through the cemetery one of the employees was driving their old brown van that is always parked outside the funeral home, really fast through the small cemetery road and almost hit me head on! She slammed the brakes then aggressively swerved around me (do they not realize that it’s a cemetery and their are people there visiting!!?? Or flat out just not care!?? I should’ve chosen a different cemetery! After a hard time visiting my baby I shouldn’t worry about getting hit at a cemetery by their workers !!
Gerald Jeffery: Always flooded and the staff does not care what they tear up. No respect for loved ones that are buried there
sara harmon: My Mom passed away two years ago. We went out and were quoted a price, and paid. Next Monday, new person quoted it wrong, drove to my grieving fathers house, to get more money. Then had audacity to call later for more money before headstone can be delivered. Should have been included in initial cost.Delays in moms burial, and 9 months for headstone to be placed. Recently, my brother passed, he prepaid it all. Then a phone call wanting to come to my grieving fathers house again, for more money. Another new person messed up.Explaining why engraver wont get to it for months. Expecting another call for more funds in our future. Terrible.
Elizabeth Felts Akus: Highland Park was extremely supportive when my Mom passed away. Living out of state, the process could have been extremely challenging, but David Misner and the rest of the staff at Highland Park made the process seem effortless. I honestly believe that this process would not have gone as smoothly as it did, without their support. My Grandparents are also buried here, as I will be when it is my time. I cannot recommend David Misner and the rest of the Highland Park staff highly enough.
Samantha Pulliam: My grandfather passed in September of 2019. He was cremated and placed in his head stone. 3 weeks go by and we begin seeing other stones engraved with September death dates. Visit the office and David tells me he is on a list and their 3rd party vendor does the engravings and he comes at his leisure. Typically 6 weeks between visits. Then come to find out he is not on any list and when it was all paid for they conveniently left out the engraving and the cost. Fine. So we paid about $400 to have the engraving done. Here we are in January with no engraving. When asking David and expressing our frustrations he essentially tells me this sucks and they have no control over when engravings happen. And the vendor was just there a few weeks ago, and did not complete his job assignments, but no at the cemetery knows why. We paid them for a job, and it still is not done. This is how much they respect/care for grieving families. And he is a retired Fort Wayne firefighter of 30 years professionally. Extremely disappointed in the way this business is ran. We will never buy a plot with them again. No one never knows what is going on. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
Kristal Frankford: David Misner and the rest of the staff were very accommodating and professional. The grounds are beautiful, and everything was as agreed. Thank you for your conscientious service at this difficult time.
Annette Carey: My brother was buried there first in the Veteran garden because my dad was a Vet which is fine BUT his flat stone is constantly being run over by the mowers and the grave digging machines the beautiful etched stone is always dirty and muddy and the racecar is almost no longer visible. then my mom passed and is buried next to my brother same scenario. The last straw came when my dad passed in Feb we waited 5 months for a " mistake by the VA" so they say for his headstone to be placed. They were asked several times to raise my brother marker and didn't so we did and also put rock around all 3 markers so hopefully they will not get run over and they called and told us we had 3 days to remove it. This is after they call non stop since my dad died trying to get us to finish our funeral arrangements very pushy rethinking our arrangements.......
Ron Setser: Awful. We were immediate family and were treated like dirt. Don't make a big mistake by conducting business with them.
Scott Alter: At the initial visit after my wife passed away, they were compassionate and helpful, and they made the arrangements as painless as possible, but that's about all I can say about them that's positive. They never missed an opportunity to botch something, from selling me a burial space that already belonged to someone else, (and expecting me to rush out on the morning of my wife's funeral to select a different one), to telling me I could have a headstone placed right away, (when, in fact, the spaces had to be paid off beforehand), to forgetting to send me the deed to one of the two spaces. The only reason I gave them two stars is that the grounds are nice looking, but I even have to qualify that because I've noticed that the wheels of the mowing equipment carelessly drive directly over a flush headstone near my wife's grave.
Barbara Farr: My mother bought and paid for her two lots several years ago. When she passed last year the only change was she wanted to be cremated. This was because she was told there could be two people's cremains placed in her space. Anyway even tho all her expenses were paid they still wanted 1200 dollars more to bury her. Then her daughter passed 6 days after her burial and we were told we would have to pay 1/2 the cost of the current price for a space a space already paid for, plus extra money to bury her with my mother. The only thing nice to say nothing there is nothing nice about the people or practices this company does to very sad people who have lost a loved one. It took a grandson buying sod to build up my mother;s grave, after numerous calls asking why it was never done we get a call that says "We added sod and grass seed to your mother's grave" Right! After the grandson spent saturday doing it himself. They took credit for that. God help anyone dumb enough to eal with Highland.
Sandy Carpenter: I was very disappointed in the condition of my family's burial sites. They are buried in the area with the flat stones. I have written before because this area is always soggy, muddy, and full of ruts. I realize the need for many burials but the sites are never cleaned up in a timely manner. I had a hard time finding my brother's stone because it was covered with mud and I had to use a pair of pliers to pry up the urn for flowers for Memorial Day. Their names are Louis E. Knelanger, Clara I. Knelanger and Scott A. Knelanger. I have my deceased husband's grave [Carl L. Molargik] in another section but I dont know if I want to be buried there. Other than mowing, I really dont see any other landscaping going on. A cemetery should be a comforting place to visit, not stressful .And a person should not go away feeling angry. Sincerely , Sandra [Molargik]Carpenter

Christina Howard: We went through 3 people who either quit or were fired, they never informed us just scrambled the next time we came in trying to find our file and orders, and the piece de resistance they just installed the headstone on the wrong grave. 👏👏 Seriously, how did you even screw up that bad!!
George Snyder: I spent some time at the Catholic Cemetery yesterday. So often rainy days draw me to visit loved ones and pay my respects. This is a very very beautiful and well-kept place.I called ahead to make sure it was okay to post photos ahead of time. They were very friendly and polite and I was told photos are fine as long as no family names are visible. This Cemetery has a very interesting history in Fort Wayne looking it up online is a great read.
