Lindenwood Nature Preserve: what do users think?
olivia: I enjoy lindenwood because it isn't typically crowded. It's great for a winter jog because of the wooden paths. Ellie Neuerburg: Such a peaceful place to go for a short walk! Mix of longer and shorter trails with a nice little pond in the middle. Got to enjoy a beautifully foggy sunrise while sitting on the dock benches. Feels like a mini escape since it’s kind of secluded from the main road, which is perfect for a little getaway from the world!

Dave Cameron: Wonderful nature preserve, with various trails, bridges, benches, low areas where creeks start, and even a good-sized pond. Good amount of parking w/bathrooms nearby, and an information center where you can pick up pamphlets. Maps and markers make it easy to tell where you are, as well as length of the trail. I found it a peaceful way to start a busy day. I spent 90 minutes and walked every trail; also stopping at the pond.
Chester Tejido (Cham): My partner and I visited this place during fall season and the views are picturesque. Good to use as a desktop wallpaper. Highly recommend for short walks after work.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Price for adult entry Free …More
Kathy Jackson: Very nice hike. Clean and trails marked well. Trails are short but you can combine them easily for a longer hike. Couple of trees down on path but easily passable
Collin Workman: Very nice and peaceful. Many people walk the paths but have always been friendly. Recommend to walk them with the s/o.
Neil H.: It was such a beautiful fall day! The trails were labeled and an easy hike. One of the trails lead to a beautiful pond. The park is open from dawn till dusk. There are a couple picnic tables on the outskirts of the parking lot and just inside the start of the trails.Porta potties are to the left of the trails, regular and handicap accessible.I would recommend these trails!
Jose Avila: Nice, relaxing walk through a dense tree patch.
Scott Mahathy: Beautiful and peaceful

Mengerson Nature Reserve - ACRES Land Trust: what do users think?
Rindy Schlatter: We took a walk while the temps were 25-30°F and an inch or so of snow and the paths were still easy to follow. There are walkways on the muddiest portions. It was cool to see the frozen creek. The path ends abruptly after walking alongside a residential neighborhood. You never lose the sound of the roads but we were entirely alone and it was nice for an hour long walk in the woods in the suburbs. I'd go back to check it out in the summer or as a meeting spot for a walk with a friend.Playground: None.Restrooms: None.Picnic area: None.
Peter Churchward: Grew up with this as my backyard in the 70s. Just as beautiful today! So happy to see a reserve, preserved!Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More
Gene (Gene): Enjoy going there just to walk in the nature. If you're going to try to bicycle through there you might want to bring a mountain bike or something similar. I tried to go through there then tubed 10 speed one time and it was after some good rain and it was quite difficult. We have spotted deer in other animals in there so it's quite fun to take small children with you just in case you can spot something cool. It's actually a pretty small place with a small sign on the road. But then again it's just suitable for small nature walks.
Brandy Deal: MUDDY!!!!!! Wear your rubber boots!!!!! Small and confusing trails. Parking and entrance are off Stellhorn Rd. between two houses. I passed it the first time. And PLEASE DO NOT LITTER!!! Chad McCall: Nice hidden gem right in the middle of busy northeast side of Fort Wayne. No overwhelming views or challenging trails, but a great place to get in touch with nature especially if you live close to this one. Found several old growth trees in here, gives the feeling of an old forest with new life trying to make its way. Also gives animals a urban sanctuary, nice work Acers Land Trust.
Eric Criswell: Review more reflects maintenance of trails than the beauty of preserve. Trails in most of the preserve are over grown and very muddy. I realize it’s a borderline wetland area, but could really use some TLC. The mature tree area is beautiful with towering oaks and hickory trees.
David Mizzell: Pretty cool , short hike,
Rebecca Snyder: Trail was not well marked and there were many off shoots to the trail. We must have missed .5 miles of it as we only walked .77 miles.
Haemin Ryu: I anticipated a short trail, but it was actually bigger than I thought. It looks like a little cute forest in town at first, even it is more than that. It is more adventitious and adventurous and fun to get lost in the forest. I just stopped by there on the way to go to the post office and spent time for almost an hour.
Anthony Anzini: Great place
Ann Marie Goff: Great little oasis in the city. Nice place to take a walk.
Jeanette Johnson: nice and hidden wouldn't know its there.
Amanda Schwartz: Hidden gem. Be careful of the poison ivy and mosquitoes though. Long sleeves and pants recommended
Scott Eichel: Nice spot to visit
lilyan coates: Its a nice place
Jimmie Kennedy: Great history and beautiful
Ben Stout: Was pretty muddy when I went. But still a good time.
J Heinz: Homeless male sleeping in woodline behind GameStop.
Rod M: A very interesting place.

Deetz Nature Preserve: what do users think?
Lauren Hillin: Nice little walk
Jeff Dady: Use to like taking my dog here. The Trails were nice. On my last visit last Wednesday 10/5/22, the Trails were all overgrown looked like they haven't been trimmed for a while. My dog could only walk on them after I did.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More
Dragon Lord Enki: Trails were horribly overgrown
Star Fire: Very nice park nice trails except for one that you couldn't get through it's very grown up the only problem I have is no restrooms and no place to get water but otherwise very nice very beautiful very tranquil
Awesomenes3604: Not gonna lie thought it was Deez Nuts Nature preserve so I went and it was actually a really nice nature center
Elia Gordon: Beautiful and quiet nature preserve.
Terry Bork: Everything is still brown from winter but it will soon be more beautiful than it is even now. It was so quiet with no one around. Very peaceful.
Barb: Such a nice and well kept preserve. It has been much improved over the years
Aaron Richey: Jan. 7th 2021 nice cold cloudy day. 36° everything is dead and colorless. Very quite afternoon. This is a beautiful, almost hidden trail. Nestled right along the Maumee River. I've always went to the River Greenway on the other side. From here on out I'll be coming here to. Deetz Nature Preserve. Don't forget your outdoors boots! I can't wait to visit in the Spring/Summer time.
Jason Rhee (SmokysBack1): Oct 31. Was nice day hadnt rained in a few days so the had no standing water. Was still a little muddy but not enough for any to stick to your shoes. There aren't many trail markings. The main trail was nice and clear. We went across the bridge that the eagle scouts had made but wasn't sure if the two or three separate paths circled back or not. There used to be a sign at the entrance of the preserve but it has long faded. Overall a nice walk.
Star Bella: Very beautiful loved the walk n sites
Mahamat Brahim: Best place to have a short walk and enjoy the fresh Air. It's so peaceful there !!!!
Kelly Rowe: Lovely place to walk. Trails very flat.
Val El Kharbotly: Easy but largely unmaintained trails next to the Maumee River, opposite of Kreager Park, on the New Haven side. I like to bring my dogs here because usually no one else is there and it feels like you have the whole place to yourself.
i6eo ToCrxcked: INJOYED A WALK. ME N LIL LAWTON.
Soraya Mahadia: We go here almost daily, year round. quite a bit of clean up and conservation has happened over the last 2 years. They have done great!
Deborah Renteria: Great place to get away for a little while very quiet in a lot of nature.
Alta Carter: PEACEFUL.
Happy: Short but nice

Sadye H.: It was okay, the paths are well marked and it is well kept. There are just other places I'd rather hike because of scenery and wetness.
Danielle Kaufman: Beautiful and diverse wildlife and plants. Sort hike with lots to observe. Very well cared for and clear paths. Great place for learning hike and/or field guide hiking.
Mason Darnielle: Such a blissful spot, very lively with such interesting plants & well kept by the trust. Really a lovely place to go.
Jeff and Debbie LaBelle: Preserve consists of half of the trails outside on field land and the other half through the woods. Fieldl and trails have lots of twists and turns and long grasses. Trails were well groomed and flat. Trails through the woods are an easy walk with lots of twists and turns.
K Ashcraft: great place. watch for ticks. either me or my dog always leave with one
Shawnah Verdavoir: Ticks were horrible on 5-1-21.I had never been to this place, or even heard of it. So we decided to go explore it. Parking was a little rough but not terrible (just rutted out areas in the rocks). It starts out as a grassy unpaved trail in a low laying prairie/field . We were there for barely 5 minutes before we decided to turn back because it was Pretty swampy after the rains we had in the past week. When we got back to the car (a total of maybe 8 minutes on the trail) I noticed a bug on me, and I as I flicked it off I realized it was a tick. Every person in my car looked at themselves and found so many ticks. I have never experienced anything like it. We were covered in them, each of us had at least 10 ticks ...probably more. The winds were strong and so many ticks were inside my car (I'm assuming the wind was blowing them from the trees). I don't know if it's always like that... But I doubt I'll ever have the guts to go back.
Kenneth Dunn: Trails tend to be a mid muddy so be prepared
Natalie Bell: Would be great for cross country runs! Not very exciting and all the signage is down
David Redding: Easy hike. Nicely marked trails. But very little parking.
Barb: Such a lovely well kept preserve.
Andy Kreul: Had a nice hike with the dogs here
Johnathon Doe: A great place to getaway from the hustle of life. You truly submerge yourself in nature for a 30 minute walk. I have seen all natural birds of this area there along with the sounds & sights of Pileated Woodpeckers to whitetail deer. Not a very large area but a hellava nice place to get away & decompress with nature. Parking with a large SUV can be tricky if meeting several friends there as it is very hard to back out or around vehicles in the primitive small lot.Fall is a great time to walk there.
Bonny Jacobs: Walked with a friend this morning. This is our first visit and we were delighted with beautiful wildflowers in bloom in the meadow area. The woods are mature with some beautiful old growth trees. Very peaceful, quiet, well groomed trails. I look forward to returning and spending some time bird watching.
Rachel Harmon: Enjoyed this peaceful bit of forest last year. Unfortunately the residents of Whipporwill drive have posted no parking signs in an excessive amount on both sides of the street and in front of the Fogwell forest sign and entrance. It's sad that they're able to stop everyone from enjoying this public preserve.

Tim Brauch: Great little property with about 3/4 mile lollipop trail (a path to get to a loop). Nice wildflowers throughout the spring.
Elizabeth Swager: Beautiful scenic area with a small trail. I went in the fall just before sunrise on 11/20/2020. Fat squirrels and chipmunks. Leaves covering the ground making that satisfying crunch noise. Did see some deer. Could hear hunters firing off in the distance. Also saw a dead deer towards the end of the trail that must have wandered into the preserve and succumbed to its injuries. Such is life.
Ania Hornberger: Really lovely, mile long hike. Wasn't very wet when we went in early fall. Lots of pretty mushrooms! We didn't see any snakes. Well maintained trail.
Waffle Master: Very muddy and quite creepy due to the abundance of snakes, feral cats, and deserted cabins. Interesting views though.

Allyson Sauber: Closed from tree damage
Jessica Dion: Love goin here, It's close, low priced & fun for all ages
Emmi Crews: Absolutely love taking family trips here very cheap kids 7and under are free and everyone else is jus $2 so very very worth it.
Paul Phillips: Coming for awhile now always making my experience that much more pleasurable while here for me and my family. We will continue to visit fox island an utilize it not just for the lake but the luscious woods and scenery all the way through the whole preserve.
Satwik Krishnan: My dog loves this place! Nice little getaway. Would love it to be a bit more maintained.
lorri klingenberger: Awesome fun
Laura Bell: Kids always have fun here.
Blake Z: Great Lake, great trails for hiking , love it $2 per person
Zach Parrish: I hadn't been to Fox Island since I was a very young kid. I remember the name but no solid memories. After our visit today we decided to start making this a regular thing. We have a new puppy which was great because Fox Island is dog friendly. She swimmed for her time. A memory that we'll never forget. We had some friends tag along. They enjoyed the day finding frogs while we hiked the beautiful trails. Highly recommend as it's in Fort Waynes back yard.
Tessah R: Props to Julia at the main building for visitors she was really cool and talked a lot to us about the turtles! 🐢 😀 please watch your step so you don't step on the box turtle! He's very chill!

Caleb Schmucker: Great place to go birding !!
Ems C: Very fun !
EMILY BURKETT: Love going to the lake and trails!
Kathy Leahy: Great trails, going again to do some others.
Scott Amstutz: Excellent walking trails that double as x country skiing in winter.
Derek Wetli: Park is well maintained/protected and accurately represents what Fort Wayne was before development. Nice beach with clean natural spring fed lake. E-coli counts less than well water in the area. Beautiful wetlands and tremendous wildlife. Staff management leaves much to be desired...
Leena Edgar: We love Fox Island! Everyone there is wonderful except one lady in the office seems to not like children even when they are super well behaved. Avoid her, and you'll have a wonderful time!
Bill: Beautiful trails. Muddy spots after a rain, especially in the marsh area, but that is to be expected of course! Great for hiking and mushroom hunting. Nature Center is a great place for families. Staff were helpful and kind.
Sandy Mueller: Love the hiking trails

Ethan Boyd: Beautiful place to walk, especially in Autumn. As with many of the preserves in Fort Wayne, the road noise and loud cars make it hard to fully relax and enjoy, but I suppose you can bring headphones to drown it out and take in the views :)
Brad Huston: Lovely wooded area with surprising elevation change for Indiana! Not a destination for out-of-state visitors, but a nice place to walk in nature for locals. The main drawback is it is so close to I-69, the noise of which disrupts the natural ambiance. Bicentennial Woods is preferred for this reason.
Brittni Tubbs: I really enjoyed my hike here and got to see a deer drinking from a stream within just a few feet from me! The only downfall was I'm just starting to hike and got lost out there for a while. There aren't really any signs along the paths and with there not being just one to take, it got confusing. If you're a pro, you'll love it! If you're a beginner like me, REMEMBER LANDMARKS!!!

Leslie Krock: Absolutely beautiful nature preserve for hiking!
Danielle Kaufman: With all the rain we've got the river was high and trails are really buggy. Trails very much in need of better marking as there were lots of forks with no direction as to which way to go. Some paths were more overgrown as you got further back. Mostly flat and easy. Toddler made it half way walking. Kindergartner walked entire trail -was tired but capable. Kids seven and up had no problems.
Kristen White: Variety of wildlife and fauna. Trails range from flat to inclined.
Samuel Jarjour: Wonderful hiking trails with great views. This place is a little-known gem.
Steven Hague: Wild flowers in bloom today
Cora Snyder: I love these trails and they're very convenient to get to. We went on a gorgeous snowy day!
Christina Hoag: First time I visited...was quite amazing even this time of the year. Hope to go there again in the spring.
Elizabeth Swager: The views are amazing, the interstate has its noises. I visited on the 18th of November and was spooked often by the gusts of wind. Maybe the road noise added the spooky factor? Peaceful besides that, absolutely loved it, giant houses can be seen through the naked trees, and across the creek. The one grassy area down a ways from the path was so beautiful in the sunrise, nice greens and happy deer. Was quite a challenge to tread quietly so as not to disturb the wildlife. I attached pictures, absolutely loved the older trees!
Charles Cooper: Pretty spooky visited about 11 on Halloween I recommend it!
W Shots: Beautiful scenery. Took some amazing pictures with my Canon Rebel Sl1
Matthew Smith: Some of the trails are a bit overgrown
Andrew Blackburn: Little known nature preserve in the middle of two large metro areas. Lots of steep hills not for the casual walker, though. Wear comfortable shoes. The views are amazing and apparently it is 'haunted', if you're interested in that sort of thing.
Dennis Schmucker: Nice trails

Metea County Park: what do users think?
Marty Raugh: Beautiful park Beautiful place to walk nice pond
Kathy Kearns: Beautiful park with nice walking trails by a creek. There is a playground by the nature center. Nature center has a small gift shop and incredibly clean bathrooms. Trails are dirt packed and wide, but there are a few areas that would be challenging to navigate with a stroller
Chris Guy: Five stars because I've been coming here for 20 years. Wish the families would respect that this is a nature preserve, not a photoshoot.
Garrett: very clean and quiet park with some good hiking, make sure to bring bug spray though they can get a little crazy.😂
Dennis Schmucker: Great park AWESOME trails
Donna Stucker: Serenity
Lora Landin: beautiful area
joe burkhart: Facility was clean and in great shape. More/better signs would have been helpful.
Leah Dennison: Didn't realize how big this park was! Pretty happy it's still I'm FW. There's a great spot for swimming and one path gets some elevation. Will be back to explore more with the doggo
Tabitha Ketchum: For years now I have been visiting this place with my children, family and animal friendly. Little pond to swim in and nature trails and just beautiful scenery all the way around. If your looking for a peaceful day or swimming on your mind definitely stop by and check it out. Perfect place to take pictures and also birthday parties.
Jessica D: This is a true hidden gem! Such beautiful scenery! Cedar Creek runs right through here, which makes it even more beautiful! You can't beat the price of $2 to get in. You can purchase a annual pass as well. They offer all sorts of activities and I have found some events on Facebook! There are some steps but really easy ones As well as some nice little walking bridge's, a pond you can swim in, and a very nice little playground. I wish I hadn't waited so long to visit, but glad I chose the first really nice day of the summer!
Loren Zeman: One of my favorite parks in the area. Plenty of hiking trails through the woods. Doesn't flood like Fox Island tends to, but can be buggy during the summer.
Leroy Pierce: First time there! Nice park and hiking trails. We saw lots of wild flowers and animals including deer.
Lauren Davis: This is fantastic park with a variety of trails. I visit often and walk near the river and through a few well-maintained fields with my dog. The nature center and restrooms are accessible and clean. Swimming is also wonderful here even though they just have a small pond; it’s just nice to have the option to swim! It is fairly empty throughout the week and busy on weekends.
Justin d: Amazing trails and they even have flying squirrels in the park! Only 2 bucks a person to get in and the money goes directly to helping the park and to do more programs
Emily Ekdahl: Beautiful hiking at Matea. Trails were well-marked, easy to follow, beginner-type hikes. The signs say no dogs but we saw a few, so use your own good judgment. One of the things that I thought was neat was the different programming they offered for kids and families, things like guided hikes, stargazing, animal dissections, and so on.
Bethany Westrick: Beautiful park with groomed trails that wander through the woods and down by the river. We would absolutely return when we are in the area.
Mary Herendeen: I love taking my dog to the park in the mornings. It's so peaceful and quiet, and still beautiful, even though the leaves have been turning for awhile. I took a LOT of photos. Thought I'd share them. We walked all the way around the perimeter! There never seems to be an attendant but I see people paying admission anyway.... As do we. 😁😁❤️❤️❤️ This place!
Tammy Laisure: I really enjoyed my time there. Even though i did get lost on the trail...but I'm pretty sure that was my fault. Lol. Definitely would go another time.
Joe Milledge: Nice hiking trails on both sides of the river
Allana Coulter: Matea Park is beautiful. We had a wonderful and informative guide
