Rica Ketcham: Very professional and work to make things right. I bought a few large glass lots from a Hi Bid auction that Scheerer McCulloch hosted. I had to pay up due to the weight and size of the shipment, no complaints that is my risk for bidding. A portion of the shipment had damage but they are being helpful and currently working with me to resolve the matter.

And honestly we should have known something was up from the sales pitch, should have listened to our guts.Anyway, our elderly loved ones did the whole shmeer - move, personal property, real estate - so I will just offer these brief insights...The move: Good but not exceptional. There were some miscommunications and damaged items, about what you'd expect, and it certainly wasn't any less expensive than any of their competitors.Personal property: Just understand, if you go this route you're basically giving your stuff away. Their personal property auctions are set up for buyers, not sellers. A huge area of furniture and other items, for example, much of it quality stuff, netted less than a thousand dollars after their fees. It's sort of absurd, to be honest. In retrospect, we should have just donated everything to a good cause.Real estate auction: Don't believe the hype! It's almost certain our loved ones would have been better off (lower fees, higher selling price, more engaged partner, etc.) with any decent realtor.I could go into MUCH great detail regarding their business practices (and I will if this review is countered by SM) but let's just let one-star speak for itself. We would not recommend this company to anyone else based on our experience. No way.

We found this company to be easy to work with, well informed on the process and impressive on the execution of their plan. The auction event was "festive" and had a lot of positive energy. The deal terms with Wiegmann were easy to understand. We give them 5 stars because they followed through on every commitment and treated our property/possessions with an appropriate level of care and respect. I do recommend getting a draft of the flyer for review and making sure all the photos you want highlighted are being used in the advertising. Those are decisions the family should figure out ahead of time and share that with Wiegmann. At the auction they attracted serious, friendly and knowledgeable buyers. We had a special property and Wiegmann's brought in the right kind of people to make it a success. I highly recommend this company. Their agent Karen was great, and even though she represented the seller, she also was great to us, the buyers, too and worked well with my realtor.

S Cherry: This is the worst auction house I have ever dealt with. Wasted my time and money. The materials I bought at auction were apparently given to someone else. I got my money back, but not the money for the rental truck. I think that the materials I bought were stolen by the kid that they hired in the warehouse, but I do not have proof of this. I called the police, but they were not interested. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. DISHONEST.
Ken Alley: Have attended couple of auctions this year and was impressed with their professionalism.
David Warfield: Buyer beware, list a 15% buyers premium but immediately send an invoice of 18%. Dishonest company looking to take advantage of bidders. Sellers beware that their negative reputation will result in you making less money when you list your surplus or liquidation with them. Stay away.
Elizabeth Land: I have bid on several online only auctions with Charleston Auctions, and I couldn't be more satisfied with their staff and the way they conduct their online sales. I have yet to attend an onsite auction, but I'm sure they are conducted in the same manner. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to get an honest, successful auction done from start to finish!!
