Hilton Fort Wayne at the Grand Wayne Convention Center: what do users think?

Arthur Cruz: This hotel is in the top 5 of hotels that I have stayed at. It was immaculately clean with very friendly staff.I have had a variety of different meals at their restaurant, across from the main desk, it delivers great food, fast, and at a great price. The heated pool is nice with plenty of towels, and my daughter had a great time swimming. The pool is just the right depth for me, considering that I can not swim. I believe it was around 5 feet deep or so.The room was very nice and clean. I loved the pressure that was coming out of the shower, it was relaxing. The only negative comment I have to say is when the reservation was made the hotel was informed that we would not be checking in until very late which they said would be fine. The hotel staff then directed us to park across the street in their parking garage and enter via their bridge, which connects to their garage when we arrive. After a very long day at work and a very long drive to Fort Waye that evening, when we walked down the bridge the doors were locked. I wish they would have informed us to enter through the street instead of the garage. But with one quick call to the front desk, security was notified and opened up the door within 10 minutes.I like this place and I will be staying there in the future when I return.
Simply Green: All was great! Thank you for a great stay. I was on the 5th floor and had a really nice view of one of the old churches next door. The folks at the service desk were kind and courteous.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Great value …More
John Mutnansky: This hotel is a classic example of how name brand hotels are relying on their names to survive. I booked my room using their 800 number which consisted of a friendly person but could not speak English. My reservation was wrong. Fortunately because I signed up to a rewards member the hotel decided to "help me out" and found a room. The room was not 100% clean...note the muddy foot prints on the bathroom floor, dirty drinking glass on the sink with a paper cover on it like it was clean, and wrinkled sheets. The remote for the t.v was broke. I still had hopes for a decent dinner and a drink in the spacious lobby and bar. Wow....do these guys think highly of their food and drink. Hyatt is just a fancy name for Super 8.

cynthia landrum: First, let me start by saying that Drew was welcoming and professional, a great first impression of the hotel! Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was not pleasant. Our room was not at all clean and we quickly decided to leave the hotel. We've stayed in many Hilton hotels and this was our first negative experience. We will no longer be patronizing Hilton.
Nick Forte: While I really wanted to love this hotel based on the other reviews, I am not sure how they even stayed at the same hotel. I'll start off by saying, I would love to invite the Hilton Executive Leadership team here to stay in our room, and then hear their feedback following their stay...All I can say is, our room did not live up to the Hilton name, and I will leave feeling disappointed to have stayed at this property... and feeling beyond gross and ready for a shower! While the room was dated and showed signs of high use, that cannot excuse the fact that this room wouldn't pass any standard of cleaning at any property, unless you were staying in a Red Light district. Mold on the shower tiles, curtain, and bathtub. Mildew smell. Hair and crumbs throughout the bathroom, especially in the corners. Old wrappers and crumbs all over the room floor. It was clear, no effort to clean occurred. Mirrors were filthy. The kind of cleaning that you feel like they used the same rag to clean 20 rooms with, and just brushed the hair of the sheets from the last occupants... at least that's what you start thinking when you see this kind of dirty...It was the sort of room that if you touch anything, you feel dirty. You cringe when you shower and accidentally touch the curtain or wall. Feel like you need to wash your feet if you accidentally step on the carpet. The office chair had food matted in it. The sheets barely fit the mattress. Dust all over the surfaces if you moved anything. The staff was nice checking in, although I had to wait a good few minutes before being greeted. As far as I could tell, this property really only had its location going for it as I was at the convention center... but that shouldn't be the only reason to charge Hilton Rates, but not deliver Hilton Standards. If you're reading this Hilton Leadership - come give a stay - I'm curious if this would live up to your expectations. Because if so, I'm looking forward to giving Marriot a try!Rooms: dirty dirty dirty - the kind of dirty that makes your skin crawlWalkability: close to everything

Hampton Inn & Suites Ft. Wayne-North: what do users think?
Kat Dunlap: This hotel was not at all what was expected based on the website and pictures. We got a one bedroom king suit and it was okay at best. All of the chairs and couches are covered in stains, the floor in the bathroom was all chipped up (like grout coming out all over) the walls in the bathroom Cleary were not cleaned as they had smudges of unknown things on them, the vent fan in the bathroom (which is face level) is covered in dust build up. The lobby was sooooo dirty. I mean it looks like they have never wiped of any of the higher touch areas other than the front counter and sundries counter and maybe Mop weekly. The elevators are steaming hot and filthy. They also have expired certifications on display. Both expired in mid 2022. The door to our room only opens if you turn the handle up which we were informed about upon check in. Overall I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone. Don't believe the website images.
Jerry McCloud: I work for Hampton Inn & Suites in Columbus Ohio and this Hotel is a nice hotel my wife and were pleasedRooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Robert Brenner: The room was okay. Midnight staff Was a little out of place. We were checking in and automatically. She started talking about marijuana because we were from michigan assuming we smoked. Just out of place. I would not go back.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Hanna Swartz: Looks like it’s under construction, but no signs indicating. We booked handicap accessible 2 queen room, but arrived and was told they only had a king bed. Doesn’t work for 4 people. Primary reason we chose this hotel was for the pool, which said open on website. When we arrived, it was closed. Very disappointing experience. Would not recommend.
Kevin Hunter: When booking this room for the evening. I was expecting just a generic typical hotel room. I was extremely impressed when entering to find myself in a small apartment. There is a small kitchen with a full sized fridge and freezer and microwave. The living room area has a couch, tv, and two dinner trays. The bedroom is huge with a very comfortable bed and also another tv. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely be a returning guest.Food & drinks: They have a nice selection of sodas and snacks. They'll even charge it to your room. Also, the hot breakfast is a great way to start the morning!
Brandi Conley: We ended up staying here when my bf got called into work on a Sunday, they were very nice and even helped me find the location when my GPS messed up !! They were located near stores and good restaurants . Will definitely stay there and recommend them to others. The rooms were nice and clean and the beds were super comfortable, I slept great !!
Kregg Woosley: I’m partly to blame for not reading the reviews. I’m a frequent traveler and Diamond member. I would suggest avoiding this property until the remodel is complete. I book exclusively through the app. It should be noted clearly on the app that the property is in “active” remodel.
Dawn Boisvert: We were not aware that the hotel was under significant renovations. My daughter and her friends were extremely disappointed that the pool was drained and closed. None of the staff acknowledged this during booking, check in or check out. A very disappointing overnight stay.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Melissa Young: Hotel is at the back of an industrial park on the north side of Fort Wayne. It's near a major interchange, and traffic could be heard in my room. The hotel has plenty of parking. The building is old, and fixtures/furnishings have been updated to current Hampton standard, though some things (paint job on the doorframes, some wear on the furniture, etc.) could use a spruce. The floor in my room slopes noticeably (and very weirdly---seriously, who built this??), and there are loose/shaky tiles in the bathroom. But it's clean and tidy and perfectly serviceable. The channel guide lists about sixty channels, but I can't get half of them due to a "weak signal."And the room is dark (dim, with few lamps) even by hotel standards. Both the fitness center and pool were closed for "maintenance"/renovation. And I'm sure it's fine, but the elevator certification thing expired seven months ago.Staff friendly and professional. Standard Hampton breakfast.
Allan Robison: The place is under renovation. Room smells, hallways smell, furniture is dated. Fine for one night, but that is my limit. I will not be staying here in the future.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Scott Petticrew: Wasn't expecting to walk into 25 kids in the hallway at 11:35 at nightRooms: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Marc Gallant: Seems to be under renovation but not sure if it was just run down and dirty.
Felecia Taylor: I would not recommend this place. They are under renovation & there's a horrible smell. The pictures on the website are not how the rooms look. They allowed guests to make all kinds of noise in the middle of the night. We made the mistake of picking the 1st floor. The noise level was horrible. It's line they were having a riot or party. What's crazy is the staff didn't do anything about it.
M2F: I’m a long standing Hilton Honors -Diamond member and I was thoroughly disappointed in the place. I thought it was dirty and had a funky smell. I even thought the front desk clerk was stoned. Very weird. When I talked to my colleagues from the area, they said never stay there. So disappointed. And I really like Hampton Inn’s. They did seem to be fixing up the place. The pool and gym were closed. But my heater did not function well. Had to kick the heat up to 77 to get it to warm up but it cycled between warm and cool air. The sink was dirty and… you get idea. I won’t stay here again. Sorry Hilton. Someone better do a walk thru and figure out an improvement plan.
Stuart Kocher Jr.: Not too shabby. No real complaints. It would've been cool if the pool was open.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Denise Schwartz: Upon check in there was no one at the front desk, which was no big deal because I had the digital key for check in. I then went to use the fitness center, only to find out it was closed for remodeling. There was NO mention of this on the app or website when I went to book. Had I known this, I would have stayed at a different hotel as I sit a lot for work so having a gym to get movement in is super important to me. I then went back to the front desk to get my complimentary waters and snack (I'm a diamond member), but there was still no one at the front desk. I waited for about 5 minutes, until finally clearing my throat to try and see if anyone was back there. I asked for my complimentary waters and snack - they gave me the waters but no snack (I also normally bring my own water bottle as there are places to fill it up in the fitness center, but, again, the fitness center was closed so I wasn't able to do that). The next morning I was working in the lobby due to the weather, and a staff member came and took the plate off my table before I was finished with it, and then she rudely told me "you're welcome" as if she was doing me a favor by taking something I wasn't finished with yet.I normally have very positive experiences with Hilton hotels, but save yourself the poor experience and stay somewhere else.
Sulynn Sly: Very unfriendly staff, dirty hotel, everything is under construction, etc. the only good thing was it was 5 minutes for Spiece sports.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5 …More
Adam Wallis: Location was perfect for where we needed to get to in the mornings. We stayed there because of the horrible weather over the Christmas holiday weekend. The room looked just like the website, it was nice and clean and had everything my brother and I needed. I think it was a suite on the 4th floor. So everything was great the first night except for the pool being out of commission for the first couple hours after checking in. So then the next morning I go to the elevator to go down to have breakfast and there is a, pardon the description, a pile of diarrhea in the corner of the little nook where the elevator was.So making a long story short there was another one of these in the pool room covered with towels. We told the several people, my brother and myself over the next couple days and nothing was done with it until the last day of our visit. I believe we stayed there three nights. The last night a pipe froze and the fire alarm rang for 20 minutes at 2 in the morning. And then the whole building lost ALL water. So we were not able to even shower before leaving. In summary it was a decent stay with some forseen weather problems and a halfass staff. I wish I remember names because some off the staff were quite lovely. Even with these issues I would stay in the suite again. It was a great room. Almost a full size fridge/kitchen. Great living room with a pull out loveseat, great TV lots of storage room as a door to close plenty of storage in that room as well lots of privacy for the bathroom. Besides all the s*** it was pretty cool to stay
