Nick McLay: Wife and I used to come here weekly to get wings and a side salad, some frosty mugs of beer. They were never cheap but they weren't expensive, like now.We stopped in yesterday and the patio was full so we had to eat inside. We were seated in a booth and the waitress was on the ball and took our order for a couple of diet cokes. We looked at the menus and started to laugh. Bone-in wings $12 for six! $2 per wing....little dried-up affairs compared to better wings in the city. A side salad is another $5 for bagged lettuce, a few croutons and BULK factory made dressing? We eat at higher-end restaurants usually so the price similarities were astonishing but this is entry level BAR FOOD. The entree section made us laugh even more with $17 fish and chips...in a BAR. Pollock fish and frozen fries?We decided our Mitchell days are over and asked the waitress for the bill for the two cokes. $3.50 per fountain pop! There was a sign saying $.75 wings on Wednesdays. So they increase their price 175% for the rest of the week? Wow. That's quite a special!If you are looking for a place to drink beer and watch a game, this might be for you. Food must be an afterthought and value must have nothing to do with it. All food has gone up in price but this is insane. Totally disconnected with any sort of value proposition.What did we do? We went to nice restaurant/distillery in Roanoke. We had a massive gourmet Cobb Salad with all fresh ingredients, a grinder and side salad and two beers for what Mitchel's would've been.
