Robert Wantz: In the process of removing my rear license plate on my Lexus I broke one of the two rusty screws holding the plate on. I then decided I needed help removing the remaining portion of the broken screw and thought of Meineke since it was nearby to my residence. I took it in, a technician looked at it, and we made an appointment. At the predetermined appointment time the service writer wrote the ticket up she said she was writing it up for an hour but if it was less I would be charged less. Occasionally I looked outside, where the mechanic was working on my car in the parking lot, and didn’t see much progress being made although I was a good seventy feet away. It started to rain but he was out there a bit and after a while he moved it inside to a bay that had been empty a while. (All along there were some bays that were empty from the time I arrived until I left). At that time I was within fifteen feet of him and could observe him closer. It appeared he removed the screw in about fifteen minutes. The remainder of his time there he disappeared where I couldn’t see him or he was trying to find a proper screw from the bunch he brought back. Eventually, when he was about completed, I noticed he had installed my license plate frame was BEHIND the plate. I informed him of this and he corrected it.Less than an hour after the job was started the service writer told me it was finished and I mentioned I should get the veterans discount (the license plate actually is a Navy Veteran plate). She then told me that’s only for parts and doesn’t apply in this case. I was then given the invoice and it was $163.84. $163.84 !!! I asked what their hourly costing rate and was told that was it.Incidentally, on the back of the single page receipt I was given is printed very lightly and illegibly printed statement of warranty (?) of some sort with printed framework around the border.I am EXTREMELY disappointed and will never return to Meineke and be sure to inform fiends.Service:General repairs maintenance

I was told that the front control arms needed replaced soon because they were deteriorated to the point that they could go at any time and I would lose control while driving. They came out as I was pulling away to emphasize that I need to have the $1,000+ repair they recommended for the safety of my children. Looked up the exact parts they quoted me, and every single part was at least double sometimes triple the actual cost of the part. I would never even trust this shop with my nephews remote control car.Btw I took that same car to a different shop and got an estimate for $600 out the door and everything tuffy said was wrong with it was completely inaccurate. All that needed was a new sensor, AC recharged, and some labor. Couldn't be more happy with the work that I actually got done to my car. And I am beyond happy I didn't get it done at tuffy. Never take your car her for any reason. For better service try the Lee's next door cause there might be a decent machic there taking lunch.

I had my front brakes and routers changed, an oil change, and they had to repair a gas valve cap (I think that is what it was called) and everything was only $370. When Evan's Toyota was going to charge me $250 JUST FOR BRAKE PADS. I even had to come back in because my brake started to squeak, which it ended up being a rock in the brake pad, and they fixed it for no charge. I love all the guys I met there, I love their values and I will always come back and recommend to others!That WAS the review. The people that work there are awesome, but the professionalism after the fact is not great. My brakes started to squeak and find within a week of getting them done. I requested an appointment. Close one was 2 weeks away and at this point my brakes were scary. I BEGGED them for something sooner because my children ride in this car every day and they were the ones that worked on them. Nope. Couldn't do that. So I waited. They Called me the day before my appointment and asked me to reschedule for a WEEK later... The lady was rude as well. Once again I begged and they couldn't do anything. Called later on and they were remodeling. In this time period I GOT IN A CAR ACCIDENT FROM MY BRAKES NOT BEING TO PAR . I live in this city alone with three kids and this one car. As much as I would love to say "Well I should have gotten a rental" I WAS SAVING THAT LITTLE BIT OF MONEY TO GET MY BRAKES FIXED. I understand that company's get busy. I to work in Customer Service and manage an entire team, but when you are the cause of an unsafe vehicle. You would think you would "Do the right thing" and fix it. Love Auto only cares about the children coming out of foster homes, as do I, but I will help them in another way, they don't care about the children that are riding in the cars that they "fixed". corrine Tischer: This is my go to car shop in town. I’ve tried a couple others such as meineke, and have found I left they’re dissatisfied and sometimes confused to the actual work done. Rich’s on the other hand, has been nothing but honest and straight forward about repairs and costs. Recently I got my front brakes and rotors done and felt a weird grind going down a driveway. They gladly got me back in the shop and cleaned up my back breaks which still have 60% usage to go and assured me all is well. Will and Nick are the ones I normally speak with and both are very approachable and break it down to a language I can understand with my vehicle. I also really appreciate their delivery service, to and from work or house while they work on my vehicle. I took the time to read the reviews for Hires as well as other shops. I felt i had a pretty good idea of what to expect and Hires did not disappoint. To spare the details but make the best point I can, Brian probably could have sold me something I didn't need but he didn't do that. I recently had some unexpected vehicle expenses which were not budgeted for and i didn't need more. They got me right in, called quickly with an estimate, found a minor thing that needed replaced as well and was done before lunch. I will definitely return at the next service interval! Ordered a part online from their competitor and had to go next door to retrieve my parts and had to call the a number which was actually Hires. And not only did they not have it due to not taking online orders they didn't even offer to take care of it by offer to ordering it for me. And the manager assured me nothing was being charged to my card but apparently while not having the part had no knowledge of how the whole system worked cause I was charged and had that to deal with besides calling around again to find the part I needed. Never again. No matter how the brand themselves.

Alex Bishop: My car would not start on a Saturday morning after my kids soccer practice. I had the car towed to Schwarz for them to do repairs on Monday. Monday afternoon I received a call from Schwarz saying the car had started every attempt and they couldn't find anything wrong with the car. They mentioned they even took the car for a test drive to ensure the car was running good. Schwarz said because they could not find anything wrong with the car, they said I could pick it up anytime. I offered to pay Schwarz for their time, however, they respectfully declined and said no charge. In this day and age, it is difficult to find honest people. My gas can came up missing from my trunk they also took my items from my trunk and had them thrown all over the inside of my car. Got paint on my windshield and passenger windows and other issues. They offered to fix issues id rather pay someone else to fix the problem. Just terrible.

Jon: I like Fox and Fox. The staff and the mechanics do a good job. I think the prices are fair. I was slightly disappointed with my last visit. I went in for an alignment I got a two-wheel alignment when I was expecting a four-wheel alignment and noted on my paperwork was a clunk or noise in the front end. I feel the technician should have tried to sell a repair for the noise in the front end. I would have paid to have that annoying clunk diagnosed and repaired. I was hoping that the alignment itself would have fixed the clunk and the tightening of the suspension components would have fixed the clunk. It did not but nothing was said to me about possible repairs. They should have tried to upsell and obvious front suspension noise especially since they were already doing an alignment.

Brian Fredricks: Could not have been more "off the mark." I scheduled an appointment online and mentioned what my car needed (front suspension issues, not an alignment). When I dropped off the car, I told the female (later discovered she was in training) what it needed. When I didn't heat back for well over a day, I called in. They called me back and left a voicemail. When I did contact them, their quote was near $1200. The same female trainee tried to explain all that their quote included but again, I told her it didn't need an alignment. When I picked my car up (after doing some research of costs elsewhere), they told me to diagnose my car, there was a $49 charge. They never mentioned this before. I informed them I wasn't too happy about this but I did pay. They handed me the keys without telling me where to find my car (there are three lots of cars). A mechanic helped me. I had the car fixed (new shocks and struts) at another "trusted" garage for $700.

Jessica Blasius: They are awful. Tried to keep me to spend more money after they told me they couldn't figure out what is wrong with my car. They kept messing with my car after I told them not to and after picking it up I find that they stole my gas and my car is worse coming out than it was going in. Don't trust these guys.

Duane Roberts: Best repair shop in Fort Wayne. They cover everything from repairs to body work . They are the only shop I let work on my classic truck. They even provide rides so you don't have to wait. Been a customer for years and never need to worry about getting excellent service.

Kaitlyn Millimab: I had services done fuel pump etc with my husbands suburban paid 1600 dollars the first time got it back was running funny and loosing power still took it back a second time they changed something else they claimed they were unsure but figured would go out another 500 dollars almost for us to get it back again and we have to still fix our own problem the fuel injectors etc! I will never have my vehicles serviced here again I should have called for them to fix it when it happens the 3rd time but why when I was out 2000 with the main problem still not fixed which they diagnosed and fixed this for me! Money wasn’t ever the issue the fact of your customer service is and I had a vechicle come and go in there twice for my husband to fix it himself the 3rd time

Jessica Larimer: Have been taking my vehicle to F&F for about a year for routine maintenance with good results. They are conveniently located next to where I work. Took my Pathfinder in recently because one windshield wiper was not working (along with oil change). Was given good news that the culprit was just a loose nut that was tightened. They offered to replace the blades with an agreed upon price. When I got the bill, it was about $100 higher than expected, due to a $101 “diagnostic fee” regarding the wiper. Not sure how a loose nut being tightened equals $101 but apparently it’s a standard fee for any issue. CONSUMER BEWARE that for ANY diagnostic issue (including a single nut being tightened) they will charge the full amount.Service:Oil change
