Our dryer mysteriously pooped out on us, I called Advanced Appliance Service and spoke with Sam who was very friendly and kind on the phone. He was able to come out the next day (just three days before Christmas—of all times). He was punctual, able to diagnose the issue in just a few minutes (overheating), and has us back up and running. It's been less than an hour. He's been doing this for 30+ years and knows his stuff. Keep in mind though, if your appliances are super new, Sam might send your recommendations for services elsewhere. He sticks to more traditional units that don't require all of the tech repairs. Les Knoll: I have purchased appliance parts from Home Appliance Parts over the last several years mainly because I like to buy local and their parts prices are comparable to online orders. However, my most recent experience with them left a sour taste in my mouth. The heating element of my Samsung dryer burned out so I took the heating unit to them to buy a new element. It was suggested by the guy at the parts counter I should also buy a new temp sensor and fuse. So I took his advice and bought all three items and put the dryer back together and cleaned out the dryer vent of lint as that's probably why the element burned out in the first place. After all that, the dryer worked great and and felt I had a successful repair. Then almost two months later the dryer had no heat. I couldn't believe the heating element burned out so quickly. After checking the continuity of the heating element it was fine. I then checked the temp control for continuity and that was fine. I checked the fuse and it didn't have continuity so that was the problem. I took the whole heating unit along with my receipt down to Home Appliance Parts and explained my problem. The guy at the parts counter checked for continuity and came to the same decision, the fuse has blown. He was quick to say the temp sensor he sold me cuts off around 260 degrees and they have seen it blow the fuse because it gets too hot and suggested I put in a 250 degree temp sensor. Okay I said but he then went on to charge me for a new temp sensor and a fuse. I asked why are you charging me, you are the one who sold me the higher temp sensor in the first place? He went on to say they don't warranty electrical parts. I asked him to exchange the 260 degree temp sensor for the 250 and I will pay for the blown fuse. Nope he says. Luckily it was only $26 for both but I really feel that was not very professional of them. I will try and find a different appliance parts store here in Ft Wayne or order online in the future.Service:Washer/dryer repair

Bruce Reinders: I'm a DIY guy and I have been going to Home Appliance for probably 40 years. Today's experience was very much like all the rest of my experiences. I called them 3 different times with questions about my washing machine and spoke to 3 different people, each one knew exactly what they were talking about and was helpful, polite and respectful. In the end with the wisdom and guidance of these young people I got the exact part I needed to repair my washer. It only ended up costing 60 dollars and now my washer works like new and Mama Suebee is happy and so am I. Tabitha Tackett-Baird: Their tech came out to repair our dishwasher which was not heating up. He diagnosed and said it was the element. I started my dishwasher that night and realized it was not sitting level nor was it heating up. I called they sent the same tech back out I asked him if it had heated up when he was out the day before his response was I didn't let it run long enough. So of course it wasn't the heating element. He continues checking things and comes to the conclusion that it's the motherboard. He then tells me he had checked the wrong wiring yesterday. So he proceeds to tell me that he will order the motherboard and it should be in within the week. One week later I had not heard anything from Expert Appliance so I called the other company who our warranty is through and was told that he had told them the job was completed. I explained that it was not. So after speaking to her and telling her what all had been going on she went ahead and scheduled their tech to come out to her home. Which will be a week from now! I was so upset when I woke up this morning and saw a text from Expert Appliance which was sent at 10:41 p.m. saying that they would be here today between 11:00 and 4:00. No one from their company had bothered calling to ask if that would work for us or not. I called the company we had bought the dishwasher from and explained what was going that Expert Appliance had sent us a text stating they'd be coming out. She said that she would call them and let them know there was no need for it. They were sending out their own tech. I called Expert Appliance today and wanted to speak to them about the text and the whole experience we had with their company. Chad was so rude to me. He wouldn't even listen to what I had to say. Inc. to look at our Whirlpool microwave as it was tripping our breaker which was also turning our refrigerator off. When Joe, Wisman repairman, came in I briefly explained what was happening and he said he knew what the problem was and even had a repair part in his hand. He had the microwave repair completed in about 20 minutes! We were really impressed with his knowledge and how he made the repair so quickly. He even passed along some other helpful information about using the microwave. We highly recommend Joe and Wisman Appliance Svc. for any appliance repairs you may need. This is the second time we have used this company.

The same day I called A+, Brian was able to get back to me to say he had the parts and since it was after business hours he actually drove the parts to our house! I don’t know any business willing to put in that extra effort. When we realized we needed one more part I called him and he got it ordered right away. I called in am to confirm, called at 1:30pm to check status of arrival, and called again late afternoon when no one showed up. Spoke with a customer rep each time, who confirmed the appointment was still on the calendar, who also said they sent emails to the service folks to ensure they called. Finally received a notice that I needed to reschedule. Called in the automated attendant which then said I had "no open service orders" and then an endless loop of "You need to reschedule" messages.Tried the website but my service order was no longer recognized.Spoke with customer service and requested a manager. I was promised a call back with in 90 minutes from a supervisor.Received a call back from an automated message saying I needed to call Sears and reschedule.I believe this is a scam and borderline fraudulent Sears service center given they accepted my payment but I can not seem to reach a person or reschedule (after already going 2 months between the original dates they've provided).Only recommend the Sears Appliance Repair if you're interested in frustrating yourself and throwing money and time away.Service:Stove cooktop repair

Dana & Kim Plattner: For those that really want details to understand the unprofessional, unethical treatment we received, read on. After decades of purchasing Kenmore products with satisfactory experience, we purchased a Kenmore refrigerator in 2015. After only 6 years, it quit cooling, and we requested a Sears technician to service it. We initially scheduled service for 9/13/21, but a technician did not show up, and we received no explanation for the no-show. We ended up scheduling service with a different company to expedite a diagnosis. We were told the problem was the compressor. We were also told that the Kenmore refrigerator we owned was manufactured by LG and that LG had put faulty compressors into their refrigerators around the time that ours was manufactured. We were told that LG was covering the cost of replacement of these compressors and that we should call LG directly. On 9/15/21 I called LG who said the compressor would be replaced free of charge by LG but that I had to go through Sears for the repair as it was a Kenmore product. He transferred me to Sears Home Service who reiterated what Jordan had said. The cost of the compressor would be covered but the labor would not. He estimated the cost of the repair to be $385. Oliver was not able to get us on the schedule until 9/28, almost 2 weeks later. On 9/28/21 the technician told us that we were given false information by LG and Sears and that the compressor would not be covered. The total cost of the repair would be over $1000. We declined the service. We were charged $109 at that time. I called Sears on 10/2/21 to address the issue. They told me the compressor has a 10-year warranty and that ours is under warranty. He said there was miscommunication when the technician came on 9/28/21 and that the repair was scheduled without a model number or purchase date. He said the repair would cost between $300 and $400. He also said the $109 I paid on 9/28/21 would be applied to the cost of the service. He said he put all the notes into the system so this situation would not happen again. The soonest he was able to schedule service was 10/18/21 from 1-5, another 2 weeks later. At some point in the afternoon, I received a message that the technician's arrival time would be between 5:01 and 6:31pm. I later received a second message saying the service was rescheduled for 11/2, another 2 weeks later. On 10/20/21 I called Sears again. I explained the situation and expressed our dismay at the way Sears was treating its customers. I requested that Sears send a technician earlier because of our situation. She put in a request for emergency service and told me I should receive a call within 24 hours to set that up. I never received a call. At the same time she moved the appointment scheduled for 11/2 to 11/1/21 from 1-5, because that fit better with my schedule. I decided to give Sears one more opportunity to show some semblance of reputability and follow through on their word that had been given multiple times throughout the prior month in regard to 1) keeping the scheduled appointment and 2) doing the repair at the cost of the labor only. On 11/1/21, late in the afternoon, he called to say he would not be coming because he was not allowed to work after 4:30pm. At that time, he tried to reschedule the appointment for 11/17, but he later texted to say he couldn't schedule it from his end. Then I got an automated text from Sears saying the technician had come and we weren't home. This was completely untrue.After almost 7 weeks of trying to get the situation resolved with Sears and being lied to over and over again, we finally decided to move on and purchase a different refrigerator. After decades of loyalty to Sears products, we are appalled and saddened at the way the company is now treating its customers. On 11/3/21, today, I called Sears again. I told her the entire situation and requested a refund for the $109 that we were charged on 9/28/21. We were told to write an e-mail requesting a refund. Changed my schedule to be home for the appt but it was a no show. Made an appt to come out the following week, which I knew it was never going to happen. (not sure why they give the homeowner FALSE hope, when they know the appt will not be kept). Once again appt comes and goes and no communication is given to say they are not keeping the appt. Now on 7/12 I call and an told i will have a UPS shipping notification by the end of the week with my part and I ask for the difference of the parts to be refunded back to me. Lovely call center lady said she would send it to billing and it would take 7-12 business days to get the refund on my card. Needless to say never received the UPS notification, and NEVER received my refund. Called today to cancel the whole order and now waiting to see it that happens. Probably not.
