Chanel Thornton: I had my wedding reception here a week ago and although my guests had a good time, I was disappointed in the service as the bride. The event planning leading up to the day was great so it gave me high hopes but unfortunately I was quickly let down the day of the wedding. First, the person you speak to for a year leading up to the event is NOT the same person who will be attending the wedding. They assign you a different person as the coordinator and that person has to read the notes from the initial person you spoke to for months. So of course not everything was communicated between the two. After spending about 12K I had to make sure my itinerary was going as planned which means I couldn’t fully relax and enjoy my day as promised. The “coordinator” was so busy with the staff that I could barely get in contact with her. I spoke to owner and he seemed pretty nonchalant about the matter and proceeded to inform me they were short staffed. I don’t think that’s a good enough excuse especially since it was planned a year in advance and cost $12,000. Regardless if people do not show there needs to be an on-call system because we paid a lot of money for the service. The owner offered to give me 50% back on what we paid for the projector which was $175 because it wasn’t compatible with my laptop. Why not the whole thing since we couldn’t use the service? Your guess is as good as mine. The food was mediocre the only thing that was great was the vegetables and potatoes. I wouldn’t know about our appetizers because the note about putting the bridal party up some was missed as well. The decorations were great and it looked very nice but I probably won’t be recommending this venue to my 3 friends who are getting married next year.

Abbi Bomberger: Amazing amazing food and service! They catered our wedding at Union12 in Columbia City and it was great! My husband and I went to one of their tasting events prior to our wedding and got to try all sorts of sides, main dishes, and desserts. It was great that they put on events like this and we were able to try so many things. One of the best features is that they have a kids menu option which was great at our wedding that had many kiddos at it.

Bianca Eldorrado: We hired Goeglein's Catering to serve at our wedding this past weekend. We had a small guest count (approximately 60 people) and they were more than happy to come to our offsite ceremony/reception location. The set up process went very well (arrived 2 hours pre-ceremony). The food was great and the servers were attentive and polite. I highly recommend this company for any catering event. The office is also very communicative and responsive via telephone and email. Chad, thank you for your attention to detail and for helping to make our wedding day perfect!

Aubrey Mills: Goegleins Catering provided the food, bar and décor for our wedding and they were a pleasure to work with. Chad coordinated our taste testing and was very organized when it came to the venue specifics (floor plan, tables/chairs, linens, etc). Our favorite foods included the salad with the bacon dressing, BBQ brisket, quarter chicken and pasta salad. Amy with “Designed by Goegleins” made our bouquets, boutineers and centerpieces which were so beautiful. During our taste test we met with Amy to discuss/see all the options. She looked at my pinterest board and was able to show me examples of similar designs she had done in the past. Our flowers exceeded my expectations. One of the biggest pro’s of using Goegleins is that they handle all the set up and tear down at no additional cost.

Cody Davison: We had Goeglein's cater and decorate for our wedding at the Botanical. They did a splendid job and the food was quite good! I felt like they were a little short of hands, but many companies are right now. Regardless, the lady in charge did a great job and many of our guests mentioned the same! I would highly recommend going through them for both catering and decorating!! Absolutely beautiful setup and delicious food!

They are very conscientious to get the details right and to provide the atmosphere the customer is looking for, usually far exceeding their expectations. When I see someone trash them with a one, I am always reminded that there are some people that you can not make happy. How have they made so many people happy through the years and one event be so off. Beware of those that have ulterior motives. This is one of the best values in the area, used for private events and larger business functions regularly for a reason.

They made our dreams come to life. We had a large wedding and they were able to comfortable accommodate us. We also had some family members with allergies and they were able to accommodate all of our guests needs. Brittany did an amazing job on the food, cupcakes and our cake. We got so many compliments the charcuterie table, dinner and desserts! The Orchid helped us make our day special and we are forever grateful for the memories we made!

In my experience there are some people you just can’t make happy. When the same person has bad reviews for 3 of their vendors that are typically rated EXCELLENT and known among their peers as excellent. Something isn’t adding up. Yes, mistakes happen, absolutely but slander isn’t the answer.I have been in the wedding industry in the Fort Wayne and surrounding area for over a decade. I was the director for the most sought after and booked out event center in the Midwest (over 500 events to date since 2018) and was being asked daily for recommendations on vendors. The 2 venues I managed had the option for open catering and we did not charge a commission to our catering companies. So we were not getting any kickback at all from vendors unlike most venues. So our recommendations were strictly based on customer service and products received. Guests were able to have any catering company they would like. The first company I always recommend for any type and size of event is The Orchid.Solitaire, Grace and their team are exceptional. They have always been professional and bend over backwards to make an event successful. Above and beyond is an understatement. Their team is always professional even with the seemingly younger average age, they are the same staff that had been working events for a long long time. They are excellent.The food is always so great and the kitchen can make anything happen! Soft serve ice cream bar, prime rib carving station, broasted chicken (my favorite), custom Chicago sliders and Chicago dogs for a wedding-in the middle of a field under a tent. Family style, buffet or plated they make it memorable.The Orchid is more than a catering company. They are a team of caring professionals working to make sure clients are taken care of in a time where supply for specialty items (like actual Orchids) is low and finding labor (especially great quality labor) is impossible.Solitaire and Grace pour their souls into each event they are caring for. You can feel it in their service and you can taste it in their food.

Emily Allen: My husband and I got married here 2 months ago and it was seriously the perfect day!!! We booked Yolo back in April of 2021 and were in a transition phase with our event coordinator. We finally got the chance to start working with Holly and she was absolutely phenomenal. She spent countless hours on the phone with my husband and I making sure our day was going to be perfect, went out of her way to find certain things for us that I wanted or needed that probably most other brides wouldn’t care about, and she was incredibly helpful the day of the wedding. We had a wedding party of 27 people and Holly took charge and helped everything to run so smoothly. She was there from 9am- well after midnight and constantly asking me what she needed me to do. Christy was also really amazing and I appreciate all of her help and support as well to make our day so special. From the kitchen crew to the cleaning crew, to the event coordinator and manager, 10/10 recommend booking Yolo for any event! Not only was the staff amazing but so was the delicious food! Truly no complaints!

Ashley Helena: Attended wedding reception here. Decently sized for a reception. It is a long room with dance floor on one end and stage for the bridal party on the other. Columns obscure part of the dance floor complicating the layout. Building well maintained, bathrooms very nice and clean.

The staff were all super friendly, bartenders were quick and there is so much potential with this space. I highly recommend having your next event here

Bre Stone: We booked YOLOs in March of 2020 before everything shut down. Our prices were honored despite the pandemic circumstances. There were some lack of communication, but I feel it was more due to everyone being super busy amongst everything as well. We had our ceremony and reception there at the end of August, and everything went amazing! Our coordinator Brooke was phenomenal! She was able to help with so much and keep us on track during the ceremony. She helped with the food and checking in on me throughout the reception. The venue itself is beautiful even without all the decorations! We were able to accommodate everything we asked for! I definitely recommend booking with YOLOs! Our experience was wonderful and I couldn't be more thankful for everything Brooke did to help us on such a special day! ❤

Barbara Kaylor: Poor customer service can easily take a 5 star rating to a 1 star rating, even if everything else went smoothly. My sister was quoted pricing by an employee and the pricing wasn’t honored. A second employee reached out and said they would honor the original commitment and that ultimately did not happen. The owner placed blame on both employees and took no responsibility for the poor communication. Unfortunately, I do not recommend using this service.
