Heaven After Hell: what do users think?
Lauren Malhoit: Always fantastic!
Kiersten McKinney: This is our second time adopting a cat! & I can’t say enough good things. Amanda went above & beyond for us this time around & im so grateful for them!! We’re so in love with our girl & so are her brothers! Thank you guys for everything :)
Lindsay Warner: We have adopted three animals from this shelter. Two cats and one dog. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this facility is. They take great lengths to learn their resident animals personalities and ensure that their prospective families are the best fit. They go above and beyond to care for the animals in their care. The volunteers work hard to make sure each animal feels loved and safe so they can move on to their new forever homes. So grateful for my pack and the work that this rescue does. Strongly recommend adopting from and or donating to this rescue. They really are a safe haven and do so much with what they have.
Sarah Le: We had our pictures taken. $30 it would have been nice if they let us know on Facebook we had to print out our own pictures! Took good pictures just wish she didn't take pictures of my feet. Very Nice People!!
Lynn Raney: Very warm, friendly atmosphere!
Erin Markham: Can't ever get anyone to answer phone
Wanda Culp: What a great group of people who love the animals and donate their time to take care of them! 💛💛💛
Pamela jones: Had to surrender my Dog Zachary
Terri B.: I got my most precious baby from there! And the staff was so loving and caring they went the extra mile for me and my new fur baby!🖤
Teri Whitaker: We adopted a beautiful red pitt named Maybell a year & a half ago. She's been such a joy and blessing at a timer when our family was broken with grief
Imari Sims: I really just despise the name of this shelter I understand the concept and the meaning behind it but I just hate it it's not inviting at all
John Murphy: Love
George Johnston: Happy with the overall experience. We left with a kitten and are currently working on integrating her into our home. My hats off to the fine ladies who helped us and volunteer their time everyday to help distressed and displaced animals. Keep up the great work!On a side note, it's really difficult to tell where we were suppose to go upon arrival. The first time we drove by, we thought there was a Google Map issue. A sign would really help in directing families to the entrance of the building.
Kevin Rowe: Great people caring for rescued animals.
Christian “BatmanTheDarkKnight” Ford: Website not put together well at all.
Shawn Stewart: All the people who work there are amazing! They do a job that I personally think I could not do. Very appreciative of their work!!
Jeannette Browning: Great food
Lacy Curtis: We adopted our puppy from here and were so happy with the service and the care after the adoption.
Chad Whitis: We've adopted 2 animals from Heaven after Hell and they are now very loved members of our family! They do a great job with all animals in their care and are very helpful and supportive during the adoption process. Wouldn't hesitate to adopt from them again!
randi charters: Small shelter little hard to find as it's set off the road a little bit. People are very helpful and kind.
Barbara Bowser: I just want to tell you I totally enjoyed my visit and look forward to going back.

EARPS, Inc.: what do users think?
Mallory Pavlik: Submitted an application almost 2 months ago to adopt rats and never heard anything back, even after I checked in again via email. Automated application response says someone will reach out in about a week. I figured it was very busy because of the holidays and understood, but read another review of someone who adopted rats recently. Disappointing and unprofessional to ignore emails. I ended up adopting through an organization with higher standards that wants to see its animals go to good homes
Emma Soderstrom: I have adopted 3 rats from here and they are amazing. They truly care about their animals and make sure they go to proper homes. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend EARPS for exotic animal adoption as they spay/neuter their animals which many other rescues do not.
Lyndsay Rogers: Just adopted a hamster from EARPS and they were wonderful and so easy to work with!
Skillpa Crane: I adopted my rats from here. Staff was so nice and knowledgeable. They take good care of the critters and really care.
Bailee Robison: Fabulous staff that provide a wonderful adoption experience!

Southside Animal Shelter: what do users think?
J. M.: Worst animal rescue in Indy, I was going to help a friend adopt a cat but the staff was patronizing and condescending on the phone, and the woman who answered the phone actually yelled at me and hung up the phone. I have worked with a number animal rescue groups over the years and Southside Animal Shelter is the absolute WORST I have ever had and would never recommend using them or giving financial support... there are LOTS of better rescue groups in central Indiana
Michelle Oakerson: We have adopted twice from this shelter. They are doing wonderful work! We are now regular supporters and will adopt here again!😊
Jo Ann Weber: We love, love this place!! We have gotten ALL our pets from here over the past 15 - 20 years. Rosie’s, ALL employees & ALL volunteers, — we thank you!!
Nancy Werner: Great place!!!! Animals are loved and taken care of.
Jacquie Whyde: These people are wonderful! The love they pour into the animals is amazing.
Cassaundra Carroll: Have to keep driving there to find out if they have any puppies instead of talking to someone and wasting my and their time.
Eric M: Had zero issues adopting my cat. Very friendly and caring staff.
Michael Ramos: We got our little spoiled buddy Tate in March 2020 from Southside Animal Shelter and it was the absolute best decision we ever made. The place is a no kill shelter with amazing staff and our dog was so well cared for. I love that they asked for references to make sure pets are going to a good home. We will definitely adopt from here again.
Cloe Nolen: We didn't actually get to go in. The reason I bring their rating down is they require appointments to see any of their animals which they didn't make known anywhere publicly and very rude when we talked to them because we weren't sure of their policies.
Tammy Shaffer: They really do care about the animals.
Abel Silva: Muy buen lugar
Papi Midnight: Had a really bad experience here today, we saw on facebook it was the last day to see dogs before they went to appointment based only. Drove 30+ mins to attempt to look at a adorable puppy spent half the day with him and ready to except this wonderful dog into our lives. Filled out app to begin the process of adoption left my app at the front and was told everything looked great. My family was so excited since we heard we were the first ones to put in the app and stayed up all night. Next morning all i got was a text saying i denied and no reason why, no call back number or nothing. Managed to get ahold of someone and was told due to me not being 21 (im 20) i was unable to adopt this awesome dog. I explained to the lady my situation of coming with multiple people of that age that live at the same address and i only file it out since i was paying for it. She explained they already moved on and there is no going back. ( i called a min after receiving that text and even had my mother explained everything.) no help or nothing. Im glad the dog got adopted but this is one of the worst processes ive ever experienced and i would rather adopt from somewhere else as some of these dogs fees are on par to pet shops. To the two workers that allowed us to experience this moment thank you and may the establishment do better next time in communication
Ariel Christie: Love this place. Everyone is so kind.
Robin Koehl: They will gladly take little dogs. Even before you decide if this is a good place to surrender, as I had to for a stray, they rush you into making a decision. I left heart broken. They put the poor dog in with many others, did not even check the health of the one I brought in! The dog was shaking and overwhelmed. An uncaring and unkempt worker had chipped the dog as he took it from me. I called back to say I had decided to keep the stray. Was told, too late because I had surrendered it.
Patty Davis: I went there with my daughter we found a dog abandoned out in the street and ACS told us to take him there so we did that and is the cleanest animal shelter I have ever saw and there really nice there poor little dog has fleas and had a tick on him my daughter gave him a bath right away he walked using 3 legs one was removed he was handicap but he was cute as a button. I hope he got a good home.
Susan Floyd: Love this shelter we adopted two cats looking to adopt a pup too
Danas Making (a mess again): I give anyone saving animals 5 stars. We tried to stop by and it was closed due to a sick dog and another time we went we were not able to look at adoption due to short staffing. I have since adopted a hurricane displaced dog fostered for past 2 years though another avenue. She is perfect. I hope all is well now at the shelter and I will return after my current baby has lived her best life. She is older but I hope to have many years with her! Thanks for all you do!
Sondra Thompson: I haven't been there , but I have heard a lot of good things about them . Just wanted to give a thumbs up ! 🐱❤️
Leslie Hernandez: Everybody should help this place
Donna Long: This puppy had alot of apps already on file. They won't tell you how many apps they have on file for one you may be interested in. Poor communication. Don't toy with people.
Kimberly Fisher: We looking for a dog and filled out a application. We brought in ESA documentation which does not require the dog to have any training they just have to be loving and affectioniate. We gave vet information all animals were current on vaccines and shots in our home. They denied us because they were uncomfortable with the vet response and that they didn't train their animals to be ESA which does not require training. The vet gave a positive review. Very judgemental people. Will never adopt a pet from here. We were looking at Gambit and what they don't tell you is that Gambit is very toy aggressive and food aggressive.

IndyHumane: what do users think?
doggi doggi: Appreciate what you do for the animals.
Amber Love: Absolutely wonderful! I visited the vaccination clinic and was very impressed by how sanitary everything was. I had virtually no wait, and because they had sent the paperwork via email prior to the appointment, the check in and check out was extremely simple. They were able to cut my dog's nails despite him being really anxious, and he is much more comfortable now. I will definitely be going back!
Katie Arnold: Are cat divva. Ask Princess meme came from indy humane. She will be 3 this year and doing grate. We will be adopting again when we are Ready.
J C: Not recommend
Alyson Borrego: The employees and volunteers here are amazing. So many beautiful animals. Looking forward to getting another dog asap. Took my dog in to get shots and the ladies were so good with her.
Candice Durham: The animals listed on the website are not actually always available when you get to the shelter. It's frustrating because I drove 40 minutes to get there just for them to say the dog isn't actually ready for adoption. The website needs to be accurate to avoid frustrations.
Dee Brown: My experience was wonderful and everyone was so helpful.
D: They obviously don't want their animals to be adopted. I've been trying for several weeks to reach them via phone to no avail. I've left numerous messages but no return calls. I've emailed them as well but no replies back. I live a little over an hour from them so not going to drive there and then not have the dog I'm wanting. Get your act together so your fur babies can get homes
Annmarie Mead: Great dogs. Nice staff
Russ Ray: The employees take all the good dogs so you can't adopt them. Smelled horrible inside and unsanitary.
Tequila Wright: If you need a pet, go here.
Jordan Comstock: Went to the vaccine clinic. Everyone was extremely friendly and quick. Also the prices are low. Def recommend
michael anderson: Great people! Very friendly and helpful. Great selection of animals that are cared for very well.
daisy sims: CEO puts down adoptable animals for no reason other than that the company owns them and can do whatever they want. They're not just property, they're living animals.
Shelby Carrolz: Donna Casamento needs to be fired and prosecuted for animal neglect and murder. She's on recording saying she can do what she wants with any animal as she sees fit. She euthanized several adoptable dogs with forever families there on scene wanting to adopt and refused then killed these poor babies. She has the highest euthanasia rate wherever she goes. She needs to be removed from position and never allowed around a animal ever again!
David Hook: The employees and volunteers show these poor and helpless animals that there are still people who will show them love and happiness. They workers take great care of the animals. If you are looking to adopt or find the right one for you/your family. The workers will be more that happy to help with any information.
Phillip Pope: It's an animal shelter doing noble and humane work, though I found the dog kennels a bit dirty and smelly with feces and many of the dogs posted as unavailable.
David Spurlock: Elaine and Miranda are very knowledgeable and kind. I adopted my first pets here and would recommend everyone give it a chance.
J. J.: We adopted Onyx (listing name: Charming) he was a bit hesitant for a day; stranger danger vibes of course lol. He checked out his new room and explored the house. Met all his new family members and played for a little while. He is pretty well litter trained already, which is awesome. He’s fallen in love with his new mini humans’ in no time and he even has a big sister that’s a pup who loves him just as much 🐶 thank you for introducing us to our little panther 🐈‍⬛😻
Felicia Tucker: Only can leave messages & wait for a return call.
Andrew Sharpe: Great place. Very clean facility. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. And they take awesome care of all the animals that they take in. Great place to find a fur baby that needs a forever home.

Indianapolis Animal Care Services: what do users think?
Hope Peyton: Absolutely horrible. A dog was dumped infront of my house and I took her up there up the lady at the back door literally told me to "go dump her somewhere else" I'm in utter shock. NO actual compassion for animals.
Sally Marksberry: They took my dog and they wont give him back please help
Melody Collins: The Shelter Employees were really amazing they made sure we had everything we needed And I got to adopt a Pretty little Kitty today I'm so Happy!!
Samantha: What kind of animal shelter puts down a dog within less than 24 hours of having it before even attempting to see if it could be placed in a rescue or trying to adopt it out?!My family and friends did more to try and help this dog after we found out that the owners took it here because we knew it still could have a good life ahead of it. Instead, they quickly decided to end that poor helpless animals life.DO NOT support this organization because attitudes like this show that they really do not even care about helping any animal. So disgusted by the actions displayed by this organization.
Becky Demma: Was told we had to say goodbye at the door when we needed to put our dog to sleep. Number one rule is never leave your pet during this time. So disheartening, we went else where.
Stephany Martinez: Great place to adopt. However after 2 hours with no progress, we decided to leave without a pet.
Mike Baldwin: Very nice ladies. Helpful
Jason Donlan: Ok, so this place told us on Friday that we could pick up are cat we adopted, then they told us we couldn't pick the cat up until the vet looked at is labs,so they told us come by and pick it up on tuesday.I came back on tuesday to pick the cat up and they said the vet didn't show up, they didn't call or nothing to let us no the vet didn't show up. So I asked them if they had another cat they said yes its a female so i go to adopt it and it's a male cat.
Karin Coe: I take care of community cats in my area I go there for advice about the cats I take care of.
Lamar Ellery: Under staff wait time even with appointment is ridiculous. Had 10am appointment didn't get seen till 10:45. They open at 10 mind you.
Patricia Lawrence: Easy process. Caring, friendly staff.Clean environment.5+ stars
Anthony Breeden: Adoptions are currently free. They have many great animals looking for a forever home.
Risque Cat: They would lie to you thinking your pets have been adopted. My 6 cats I had to surrender temporary , have been adopted the same day or the next day. Cats have been in there for weeks or months and mine are magickly adopted? No, I don't believe that. As healthy and up to date of their shot, have been euthanized.
Review Account: Might as well call this the Indianapolis circus because the people that work here are clowns. They're rude, incompetent, and lie about dogs, rules, and things they've said/haven't said. The city should shut this place down and put it's money into an animal shelter that actually works, like Hamilton County or even Johnson County. If you're looking to adopt a dog, all they have is aggressive pits and labs. If you've lost an animal and need to check if they ended up here, the staff will give you the run around, and if you have a report about an aggressive or nuisance animal, they'll do mental gymnastics to avoid doing anything with it.Go support local rescues or other county shelters before you ever give these clowns a dime.
Jenni Dzikowski: They lie about breeds! People should know what they're in for!
Linda Strode: They were very nice and they were very helpful
sean johnson: Found puppy’s running in the road on my way through Indy and the police station told me to go there. I can’t have the puppy’s or I would have kept them super sweet pups. When we got there we filled out the paperwork and this blonde lady came out and started yelling being very rude and told us we should have left them on the highway. That they are going to die regardless. I had asked the lady to not yell at me that I was not yelling at her and the lady just got louder and told me to get tf out. I have adopted two dogs from this place and love them with all my hard but will never go back to that place.
Lawrence Darrah: Why does your website say to not call, but visit in person to verify if a found Cat is yours if you won't even let us see it in person? I found a cat online that looked similar to my missing cat, drove up there, and couldn't go back to see it. Associate just compared pictures, and said it's not my cat. I would really feel better to have seen the cat for myself, in person to verify, I mean isn't that the whole point of driving down there.
Tammy Harris: Very helpful and friendly! Thanks for all you do!
Georgia Johansen: We came here after losing our beautiful dog to cancer. We felt so lonely not having a dog around so why not adopt. We found Glenda(we renamed her Shiva) on the page and filled out the paperwork online. When we came in the employee was very patient with us and explained everything they knew about her which wasn't much she was a stray. We had to do a slow intro in the office with the employee. She finally warmed up at about 15 minutes. We fell in love. We couldn't take her home right away because she wasn't chipped and spayed and they didnt have the new schedule. We came to visit as much as we could, each time we came she was more and more confident. The employees (we have worked with so many!) Have all told us how much she is warming up each day. She gets so excited when she comes to the lobby and sees us! They never rush our visits with her. We are finally on the schedule for the vet and get to take her to her forever home this Thursday. The staff is amazing. This place is amazing. It was a little warmer out so they let us come out to one of the play areas to get her zoomies out. She was so happy!
Lauren Eckelkamp: Absolutely had the strangest interaction with this establishment today. We lost our family cat of twelve years a year ago and finally felt healed enough to welcome another feline into our family. Apparently despite filling out an application, owning a home, dealing with having my children screamed at by a clearly overstimulated anxious worker, then despite heightened emotions we found two kittens we fell in love with. We inquired about adoption to be met by the stressed out workers who were incredibly kind as they explained to me that we weren’t able to adopt them or secure them or ensure we can come back tomorrow and have to cross our fingers that these two animals that they fell in love with are there for adoption?! So the same establishment we trust with taking care of lost animals in Indianapolis are the same reason we’re driving home with crushed kids I cannot lie to and pretend that those cats will be there tomorrow. Not sure how to support an organization with rules so strict that they avoid animals having a safe home because of rigid rules. Crossing our fingers the right emotional support kitty/kitties find our family soon!Update: Went up there this morning. Cats aren’t adoptable and the workers aren’t being given any information as to why or when they will be available. We will be working with another establishment to bring home some furry friends. So incredibly disappointing- do better.
