Julie Grace Immink: Nice piece of Indy history, everyone gets a flashlight 🔦

Also, check the website for schedule - I don't know what it is, haven't found it yet.We ended up not being able to go in due to all these technicalities.I don't think I will try to visit again.Visited on Weekday Wait time 30–60 min Reservation recommended Yes …More

b w: Review is about availability not the place.. Was only in town for a weekend but unfortunately one can only see the Catacombs on tours, certain weekends at certain times. Which of course was not the weekend I was there. Disappointing because it was high on my list of places to visit.
Mrs R: Problem is, we didn't actually get to go in. Atleast when we visited, they are only open 1 Saturday a month. It would have been nice to see.
Margaret O'Grady: Visited on Weekend Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry $16–20More
Scott McCune: Need experience learning about the history and what was once there and to be able to walk down underneath was really nice
Brendon: Not a catacombs. Its a basement. Interesting in its own ways. Needs to have live wires put up not just taped off but ultimately, it is misrepresented naming it a catacombs.
Brian Hammett: Fun little tour in the heart of Indianapolis. Go into the former support structure of Tomlinson Hall. It is full of historical information about one of the early entertainment spaces for Downtown Indy. Recommend for the price and knowledge.Visited on Weekend Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry $6–10 …More

Floyd Nash Fix It Dad: This is a short, very well put together tour of the Indianapolis Catacombs, aka the basement of the old Tomlinson building. Really cool piece of local history with amazing volunteers to guide you. If you're in the area, it's a great item on your tour and exploration of the area. Thanks Allie, you were awesome!
Stephen Blum: I was a little disappointed. There were many closed venders and the tour wasn't available. I figured being memorial weekend it would be booming

Archaeo Native66: What a wonderful, warm, inviting place. I visited it around noon time this past week and it was great. Very clean. The front desk lady was very nice and helpful. She told me exactly where to go for the Native American exhibit. The broad range of artifacts and interactive learning tools for kids was great. I really enjoyed walking around and observing to paintings, clothes, pottery, presentations. Highly recommend this museum and if you have spare time definitely check it out.

Lilly O Finch: I was confused about what this museum was. I thought it was a museum of art by indigenous people. It is actually primarily Western themed art by predominately white men. There is some art done by indigenous people. It is a nice collection of Wild West.Cafe was surprisingly good! Buffalo tacos were delicious.Don't forget to get your parking validated because then you won't have to pay.
ED G: I attended a guitar show a couple of years back, and it was the most memorable moments of my life. The amount of instruments they had that belonged to all the greats was breathtaking.

Jon A.: Beautiful facility, friendly staff, a shame it is for the liberal wokesters hell-bent on scrubbing history from the books and rewriting the way they want it to be. Very hypocritical in every sense. The founder was a coal miner, I'm surprised they haven't figured out a way to scrub his name off the building for being an American pioneer and builder of this museum and someone that worked and helped build this country. Shame on you staff for turning this Beautiful legacy into a woke, politically correct venue. You are shaming and chipping away at the very foundation on which you stand.
Jamie Lee Dalton: I had never been, in all the time it has been around. Throughly enjoyed the Changing Views: The Photography of Dorothea Lange exhibit. It got me in the door to experience it, as well as the rest of the museum. Loved the kids interactive area on the lower level. My niece is 12 and still got into playing the role of cantina waiter and riding the pony. It was time well spent.
andy whitehurst: Great place. I stopped in to see the Dorothea Lange photo exhibit. Awesome, very touching and thought-provoking.

Miss Eddie: We went to the Eiteljorg Museum today; it's about Native American Indian history and crafts. I was very excited about going, but it was a major let down when we got there. It was nothing but pictures and statues, and a lot of walking around without much to see. Now don't get me wrong, I'm very interested in Indians, because I'm part Cherokee also, but the museum was very sparse...a lot of the rooms were fairly empty. I will say there was several areas set up with things to do for the kids, in each area, and that kept our grandson occupied. They also had a children's area for them to be entertained, on the lower level.**I might go back someday if they get more to look at.**We did get in for FREE and we didn't have to pay for parking either, BUT, that was because we checked out the museum member card from our local library. I wouldn't have been very happy if we had paid for this trip!Be prepared to spend some hefty cash if you go, because we got our grandson a gift from the gift shop, a smallish Lego set with a big book of different things to build, and it was $25.00 + tax. They did have a lot of things to sell, and I believe it's almost all authentic Native American items, so that will make it pricey. We ate in the Cafe, and for me, my husband, and our grandson, it was over $47.00!
Amy Callahan: Be sure to catch the Jingle Rails exhibit around the holidays! Definitely one of my favorites.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait …More
rich walker: Neat place. I would be happy to pay for entry if my whole family didn't carry active duty military ID cards. This is supposed to be a Blue Star museum. Apparently the staff doesn't realize (or care) about their own policy. We mentioned it in the nicest way possible when presented with a $4 discount. If you are military you may not get it for free as they advertise. Just a heads up to our fellow veterans. This isn't a Blue Star museum.
Karen Stephenson: This is a great place to slow down and appreciate the beautiful art. Highly recommend visiting.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Price for adult entry $16–20 …More

Indiana Historical Society: what do users think?
Ambassador Dr. Angela J Nealy, PhD: Awesome place. I saw the church where my Great, Great GrandUncle once pastored in 1866, Rev. Dr. Willis R. Revels
Martine Janvier: Great museum! We visited this museum during museum day in September when it was free admission .The staff is present all around the museum and was friendly and helpful. The exhibition was interesting and interactive! It kept my 10YO daughter engaged in each part. The whole building is spacious and have a nice ambiance with classical music playing .We were able to grab a quick and affordable lunch in the café at the lower level and eat on the patio with view on the canal and that was nice .
Traci Koehler: The Eva Kor exhibit is EXTRAORDINARY!! The hologram of her answering so many amazing questions drew my daughter and me into a more personal view of the holocaust. She was an amazing woman who survived soooooooo much!We absolutely love this! Now I want to go back to find the answer to, "What is a hoosier?" on the second floor.
Emily Scott: Thanks you
雷一鸣: Have a dinner there with the program. Nice place!
Ivan Sleet: Who knew poetry could be so emotional. The Twin Poets are phenomenal!! There stories through their spoken word is an AMAZING Journey! Thank you IHS and Storytelling Arts of Indiana!!!
Keyshawn Louis Scott: Great history on 9/11 and the victims
Daniela Quiroz: It's gorgeous but in summer it should be more beautiful since right now it's super cold.
Vicki Mansfield: Very educational informative and entertaining exhibits that all tie back to Indiana.
Denise Laverty: Great venue for an event!
Julie R. LeHunt: Went for the last day of The Festival of Trees. Loved it! Do wish the Stardust Cafe offered at least coffee/cocoa/tea/soft drinks, & maybe snacks, later than 3:00p. Otherwise, I love the facility & all it offers (it was a lovely venue for a small wedding I sang at a few years ago).
Mike Lipe: I don't know how I did it...It was so enthralling, I actually fell asleep while walking.
George Wright: We went to with friends to their large display of decorated Christmas trees. A good way to kick off the holiday season
Elsie Robinson: The Christmas Tree display was wonderful and the free entry for educators was very appreciated!!
N Odell: Look for the displays on the Jewish History in Indianapolis. Good reading, lots of pictures. Have lunch at the Stardust Cafe downstairs.
Stephanie Metz: The Eva Kor exhibit was well worth it do the virtual reality
Cody Dubose: Awesome place for family fun.
Dan Bartlett: My wife and son really like to go look at the Christmas trees at the Historical Society during the holiday season. This is not really my idea of a great time, but if you lile that sort of thing then there are a lot of trees to look at. I also went to a presentation about BIM in the auditorium there once as well. Other than that, I'm not sure what else goes on during the year. They wanted, I think, $13/person for admission to the Christmas tree thing -- that's way more than I believe it is worth. Our local library has a couple of passes that you can check out for free, so if you are planning to go that might be a better route.
Renato Martins: Fantastic place for history and culture. Very well maintained building. People there are friendly and professional.
John Ginder: We went for the festival of trees at winter. The trees were amazing 70 some trees Christmas trees decorated and made to be representing a certain thing and it was absolutely just fun to go see.
Jill Roark: We took our niece and nephews to see the festival of trees. We all had a blast. We will make this part of our holiday tradition in the future

Gorgeous piece of architecture with amazing curators/guides to take you around and give you all the history and knowledge they have. Julie Grace Immink: Human skeletons, jarred organs, and an iron lung for infants are on exhibit. The educational museum is located inside the pathology building of the former “Indiana Hospital for the Insane.” Visitors can sit in the same wooden chairs where live autopsies were demonstrated to students in the amphitheater. There are six laboratories to tour, including a room where microscopes are placed in front of large windows because the reflected sunlight once illuminated the examined brain cells of former patients.
