Ripley Auctions: what do users think?
Darrell Monroe: I've called and left messages but I've yet to hear from Scott. It was on the 27th when I last sent a message. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM
Steve Molla: Overall, I had a very positive experience with Ripley Auctions. I won a piece in one of their art auctions, and although I live 128 miles (2 hours) from their location (Dayton Ohio to Indianapolis), it seemed that the best option would be to have it shipped using their in-house shipping service. I naively thought it would cost maybe $50 to ship, and also, the cost of gasoline alone would be nearly $30 for the round trip pickup option.Unfortunately, shipping my item was not a very good option. Due to it's size (over 40" long) and weight (over 20 pounds), the shipping cost was going to be over $300. I received a call from Maggie (of Ripley Auctions) to personally let me know that this was going to be expensive to ship, and she was kind enough to also explain that it was mostly due to surcharges that the shipper charges for oversized packages. She also offered to investigate further to see if there was another way to get the shipping costs down. I really appreciated her willingness to go the extra mile to check into that possibility. However, after I thought about it some more, I decided to call back and see if it was possible to pick it up on Saturday. Maggie mentioned that they were closed on Saturday, but given the situation, she was willing to meet with me if I wanted to pick it up Saturday. Maggie apparently does not exactly live close to the auction house, so I was very moved that she was willing to do that for me. I so much appreciate Maggie going the "extra mile", on her own time.I'll absolutely be open to doing more business in the future with Ripley Auctions. But I'll probably want to be focused on smaller/lighter items. :^D
Barry Sunderland: Kudos to Ripley Auctions! As a veteran auction participant, over the years, I have literally worked with dozens of auction houses…the good, the bad, and often, the indifferent.Ripley Auctions, though, SURPASSES them all.Dan Ripley, time and again, puts together exciting, well-documented auction lots. Behind the scenes, especially post-auction, Maggie oversees incredible customer service…She’s warm, super helpful, articulate, intelligent…just WOW! (Did I mention ‘WOW’ ?)With both Dan and Maggie, and their fabulous customer support, I give Ripley Auctions my highest recommendation!
Hannah Craft: Ripley agreed to sell my 6 antique Windsor chairs. In October '21 they gave me an estimate saying that the chairs were worth $100 each ($600 total). They didn't sell the chairs until March '22 for a total of $300 ($50 per chair). After Ripley's cut, I got $215. It was way less than they told me the chairs were worth. I regret auctioning them through Ripley. They also took a long time to sell and the auction house staff never communicated with me unless I reach out and asked for an update.
Sandra J: Ripley Auctions is quickly becoming my one stop shop for selling, buying and appraising. They have a special department that deals in sports, memorabilia and vintage toys, etc. and they recently sold a ginormous collection of hot wheels cars that I had in my garage. I made a lot more money than anticipated and it was probably the easiest transaction I think I've ever had.I also recently attended a mid century modern and decorative art sale at their facility and I can say that their employees and attention to detail are unmatched. I haven't ever experienced this level of professionalism in dealing with an auction house. Anywhere. Ever. They were also very entertaining which made it a lot of fun!!Lastly, their appraisal division provided the appropriate information I needed to close my dads estate. They were very knowledgeable, quick and provided exactly what was needed.I can't recommend them enough!
JM R: Extremely attentive and helpful team - I will look forward to doing business with Ripley Auctions again in the future.
David PRESSLAND: Item bought exactly as described, very well packed at reasonable cost and quickly shipped. Auction buying as it should be.
Augustin Szokos: Worst customer experience I've ever had. Items never arrived (cca. $6,000) and after 4 months of struggling, they unblushingly ignore any claims for a refund.
Brittany Medcalf: I was just quoted $2000 for my 58 inch (authenticated), 54 grams of 18kt gold Carlo Giuliano necklace. This is less than 1/4 of what every other auction house has given for a reserve estimate. So hard to take this seriously. They stated worth gold weight only ( even that, their calculator must have been broken ) So anything that has any historical value perhaps just stick with the big guys
Laura Mostello: Great experience! I bought two 19th century portraits that will look amazing over my fireplace. The shipping was extremely reasonable at only about $34, and the paintings were expertly packed. Thank you!
Mike Anderson: I had a great experience with Ripley auctions. The cost of the in-house shipping was about one third of what I expected to pay. The items were exactly as described and packed very carefully for shipping.
John Heiligenstein: I have always found Ripley Auctions to be professional and very, very helpful. Great staff.
Kristian Chestnut: This auction is also a bunch of liars. They claim it costs $25 to mail 9 magazines which is false. It doesn't cost $25 to mail magazines that are eligible for media mail which is $4 or at most $10 for priority mail. This is an unethical auction that works up a shipping invoice so be very careful bidding.
Gary Torre: I cannot say enough good about the people involved with Ripley's. Their shipping policy is horrendous, on the other hand. Minimum $20 shipping is reasonable. What is not explained is that all shipping costs are ADDED to the $20. I purchased a paper Russian box, 2" X 3" approx., for $50. And was charged $31.00 for shipping. It would have to be an extremely large item that I couldn't live without before I would bid again with Ripley's. Small's, there is absolutely no way...I cannot find another way of responding to the owners response. This package was 6x6X6 and weighed 8 oz. You are not doing yourself, and definitely not your clients, a favor using UPS. $22 UPS (which includes $100 insurance so I'm not sure why I'm being charged an additional $1) when you could use a Medium Flat Rate USPS at $14.35. Which includes insurance up to $100. $3.00 for materials when you get them free from USPS. And $5 handling on top of the premium paid for buying (but I would pay that for the time, I guess). Anyway, my point is you're shooting yourself in the foot if you continue to use your current shipping method once clients realize what I did. I paid $31 and should have paid $19.35. You'd never have heard a word out of me...
Eaip Son: Really helpful great customer service .
John Hughes: Awesome

Wickliff Auctioneers: what do users think?
JoAnn Hirata: Excellent service, great owners, highly recommend Wickliff Auctioneers!
Richard Toth: I was approved to bid on Live Auctioneers, but the bid button says I still needed to be approved. Wyckclif, needs to go to Invaluable or have someone manning their phones as I contacted the auction house and Live Auctioneers with no response. This has been a frequent issue with Live Auctioneers in getting approved quickly and often their auctions are terrible in comparison to Invaluable, both sites have many bogus auction houses though.
Marshall Criswell: This is an excellent auction house. We have purchased art, jewelry, antiques, and furniture without disappointment. Everything is of very high quality. With the expertise of the auctioneer and his staff, we always feel confident when bidding.
Mary Garber: Trustworthy, fair, and they do their research. The auctioneers are knowledgeable and friendly too.
Augusto Cano: Excellent
Kris Bex: As it was my first auction with this company, I ended up calling them three times with questions. Each contact with them was patient, friendly and professional. I purchased several items. Through the process of bidding, paying and receiving, their service was top notch and timely. I'll buy from them again!
Vincent LaRosa: I applied to participate in a auction from Wickliff Auctioneers and my application went responded to for several days. When I sent a message inquiring about the my status Wickliff Auctioneers didn't bother responding with any explanation whatsoever but instead just denied my request. My subsequent request for a explanation has also gone unanswered.
Nicolle Wilfenger: Very nice people. Great service!!
Byron Flanders: Always a pleasure doing business with them! I enjoy their sense of humor, in a business that can try your patience. I know, because I have an auction business as well, and they are one of the best in the mid west.
Red Moon Antique Shops: The Best!!
Andrew Thomas Pappas: Well managed auction house with well attending associates
sean moen: One of the most professional and respectful auction houses to deal with in America. Have routinely shipped items across the U.S. to have this auction house sell them for me because they just "treat me right!"
Ed Smith: Absolutely without a doubt the best auction house that I've had the pleasure of doing business with. They provide the highest level of trust, friendliness, helpfulness, professionalism, thoroughness and respectful service that I have ever received from any auction house. Their sellers fees and buyers fees are very reasonable and fair for the high level of service they provide. The owner Darin and all of his staff are very friendly and engaging and they appreciate your business and treat you with a high level of respect and courtesy. You can trust them with your absentee bids and online bidding. If it was a 10 star rating I would give them 11 stars.

Jacksons Auction & Real Estate Company: what do users think?
Matthew David: Really easy to work with. You get ahold of someone right away when you call and Bryan is always willing to work with you and answer your questions. I highly recommend.
JoAnn Hirata: Highly recommend Jackson Auction! Honest and reliable...
john finke: Always a fun experience
Kathryn Crawford: Positive:ProfessionalismFirst-rate, well-established auction and auctioneer. Dennis Jackson probably knows more about regional art than anyone alive. If he authenticates or attributes a piece to a certain artist you can bet your life it's correct. People trust him implicitly. Wonderful service, too.
A E: Nice and great vintage items prices on their auctions are very fair.
Derek Bishop70: Waited around for 5 hours to bid on something to find out they had the photos mixed up. Ask the owner to rerun the bids and he was very rude about it. I will not go back. It was a waste of time, besides the warm soda and stale cookies was a joke.
Larry LaFoe: Great atmosphere, polite staff - easy and efficient. Highly recommend!
Rodger McConnaughey: Top notch people to deal with....very nice items. Hey it's an auction so you get to bid what you want.

He hardly looked at anything else and said there's not a lot of money here. He said he would call me the next day.Eight days later a woman from Christie's called me and told me Mr. Christie told her to call me because I might have some items to be looked at. I told her I had moved on and did not think Mr. Christie had acted professionally. She said she'd tell him. Never heard back.
Emily Schoenbaechler: Everyone person on staff was wonderfully helpful on 3/3/22 and made picking up my items (12 lots) very easy. richard roberts: If you like the auction life, this is the place to be.
Sarah Spencer: We have traveled from Florida just to come to a couple of auctions at Baxters auction. Earl's Auction Company & Liquidators: what do users think?
Jacob Reeves: I have loved the process of the online bidding and receiving amazing products for 33% of what the actual value is. Everything I've bought so far as been amazing and no complaints. I highly recommend checking them out.
Ty Mays: Great place but has gotten over popular driving prices up. We have gotten several good deals.
doug owens: Auctions are fun. Pick up was easy and quick.
Michael Westmoreland: This is the BEST Auction in town. Earl and Erika are awesome along with their staff especially Sue. I've purchased many many great items over the years at the in person auctions. Although, now I truly look forward to viewing everything online and being the successful bidder. Such a great experience. Keep up the good work Earl, Erika and Staff.
Michael Harrison: Bought 3 items through online auction and picked up in person. Wonderful experience all the way around. The site is very easy to use and picking up my items was super easy and quick. Will certainly buy from Earl's again.
Bill Bowyer: They are very nice here. They like to help you as fast as they can.
Michelle Bann: I got hooked on Earl's Auction during Covid and have been coming back almost every week. Great items and even better people that work here. Everyone is friendly.
John-Michael Watson: Fantastic spot for good deals. Quick and friendly service. Highly recommended.
Sharie Schneeman: Great auction! Easy too pick up and everything is run smoothly
jim wilson: Double dipping charges customer %15 Buyers fee plus the person selling items a fee. %15 fee for nothing kinda sucks
Belinda Douglass: Alot of stuff is broken. Plastic 3.00(retail) shower caddy broken..should of been thrown away.
Eric Swank: Always got good products at decent prices sometimes people bid more than retail for things plus you have to pay buyers premium on top of that
sportsmansmall: They won’t really help load so be prepared for that but I have bought several things and have never been disappointed.
Tab Culp: This company is great to deal with! They are Orgnaized and make the whole process super easy!
Audrey Devore: Best auction ever
Eric Black: Great place. Staff is friendly and helpful.
JoAnn Hirata: Quickest, most efficient checkout/pickup! Thank you!
Shane w: This was not my first experience with these folks. I had them sell a fair bit of Older Coca-Cola memorabilia a few years back (pre covid) & I received a fraction of the value. My most recent experience was with a online auction. I won 3 lots of U.S. Coinage & they tried to charge me sales tax. In Indiana there is NO TAX on U.S. coinage & it is ILLEGAL to charge that tax. I guarantee they are pocketing the $. I will be contacting the Attorney general & the BBB. Its guys like this that give auctioneers a BAD NAME!
Gene and Becky Parsley: Great auction company.
Kevin Steinke: Earls Auctions is a great place. I buy and sell items, and for the last 2 years i have bought alot from here. The people running the place are always very nice to me and very helpful, whether if im just needing info on an item to helping me load my purchases. I have to say they are one of the most organized Auction companies that i have seen and bought from. Earl, Erika, Brandon and all the workers are always friendly to me and that keeps me coming back time after time. Plus ive never had a problem if something isnt what it showed in the ad, because if it was different or broken i know they would gladly take care of it for me. NO Questions. Great place, Great people. Thanks....
Dontrell Long: This is an update on my last review nd let me be the one to admit I was wrong and I apologize about my review last month cus I still shop nd buy of this auction everyday and I just bought a food trailer thru earl’s. This place has been so good to me and I hope they will be good to whoever shops with them.. communication rules the nation all you have to do is communicate with them and be a loyal customer.I’m a reseller and everything I have bought from this place was missing something or broke. On the picture of certain items it will give a brief description and that was still wrong. Then the items on the Auction goes for have the store value each Auction so its not like you really getting a deal because there’s a 70/30 chance and the 70% is the broken or missing a part.
