Tinker Coffee Co. Roastery: what do users think?
Josiah Conley: There are numerous coffee roasters in Indianapolis, however I have yet to find any that make as good of a cup as tinker coffee co. I would highly recommend this place for getting the best and most interesting coffee roasts. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly even going as far as giving me free filters when they were out of stock, tinker coffee roasters is easily one of my favorite things about Indianapolis. (2023 addition: to add to this review tinker is an asset to Indy's coffee community the events they host and facilitate are amazing and really show how involved tinker is!)
Tyler Bonts: Excellent roaster. I’ve had coffee from many places across the country and few have been able to produce the flavors that Tinker does. Well done.
samuel rodriguez: My wife was at the airport in Indianapolis when she had some of this Tinker coffee! She thought it was fantastic and brought me a bag, I was a little optimistic at first since I've been having a really good coffee here in the northwest but this coffee is very delicious and can compete with any of the roasters here! Thanks for a great cup of happiness!
Amanda Grube: Not only do they have delicious coffee, the location at AMP 16 Tech is fabulous! They helped me change out a large order and it was so simple and they were super easy and nice to work with!
RJ Skerry-Ryan: Lovely local roaster for specialty coffee beans.
Big Tony: Tinkers at the airport sucks, unbelievably slow lines, 10-15 minutes per person
Dave Thomas: Tried two of their roasts at a coffee show. Made me a believer instantly and I can’t wait to order some beans online and visit the shop whenever I’m close to Indy
Karl Morris: Haven't actually been here, but they make some of my favorite coffee
Matt K: This out of the way production facility is not somewhere you go to sit down for a cup of coffee (no seating or regular coffee service). That said, they do have bags of coffee and coffee goods for sale. The friendly fellow that helped me recommended a blend based on my preferred taste. He was kind enough to make me an espresso as well. It was nice to have the opportunity to sample a different blend than I was purchasing. I really appreciate it when roasters like Tinker and Julian have public facing sections of their roasteries.
Peter Arnaudov: I was on the road driving through Indianapolis and really wanted some quality coffee. The cafe was closed due to Labor Day so I walked into the roastery where I was welcomed by Austin, the sourcing director. He was very accommodating and in addition to chatting with me about coffee, offered to make me an espresso since the cafe was closed. This was a complete day maker and in all honesty some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. I love this place and will begin ordering bulk from you guys! Thank you.
Isabella Medina: Simply the best coffee beans I have ever had!! The workers are very knowledgeable and helpful:)
Tim Rosner: Had a gr8 loaded breakfast bagel at Tinkers in terminal B. Indy .Yuk ST.B’s in A so Delta flier you gotta go left out of sec. ✔️ To get the good stuff
Derek Liu: Tinker Coffee is my personal favorite thing about Indy. Check out their water recipe on their blog, makes a huge difference!
Debbie Giardini: Love this coffee ☕. So glad I can have it shipped to my state, Illinois
Jim Greig: Very friendly staff and great customer service. The aroma is intoxicating.
Kylie Lockett: My favorite coffee — ever! Hands down!
Stephanie Wakeland: OMG the espresso is amazing!
Wesley Johnson: Absolutely love the roastery, quick easy stop to pick up my beans. Staff is always friendly and let's me just look or feel comfortable enough to ask questions. Awesome place to stop in every 2 weeks when I need more beans
matthew merryweather: Super glad I found this gem of a coffee roasters, it was randomly discovered passing through indianapolis. Coffee is excellent !! Some of the best ive had!!! Thanks
C.V. Jones Jr: Different choices
Sydera Theobald: I just had the pleasure of trying the 5-spice latte at the new location in the airport. The staff was so lively and lovely! Sweet, friendly people. The coffee is nothing to scoff at! My drink was delightfully bitter with a bit of spice (ancho chiles?? hello!?). I added an extra shot of espresso to mine, but I love a bitter flavor profile. I got mine iced 💅 but I'm sure it would be just as good hot.

Coat Check Coffee: what do users think?
Carly Kindig: Great atmosphere, unique design. Love the historic building. Good coffee and food offerings. Friendly staff. Enjoy
Samantha Ayres: One of the best coffee spots in town! The butterscotch latte is top notch.
Jamie Irwin: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 2/5Recommended dishes BreakfastMore
Jeanna Little: There is a local artist who does work here, John Vazquez. Must stop in here if only to see his work.Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Angela T: I had a (hot) latte and hubby the butterscotch - both were very good and the ambiance was chill. We had a seat by the window and sipped our coffee as we people watched
Harsha S: We stopped by here for breakfast after walking over from AirBnB. The entrance was quite inviting with a staircase leading up to the cafe. The color palette was this old rustic sort of feeling. The actual cafe was very similar to a coat check area; it was an interesting concept to say the least. It was quite packed when we arrived so we had to wait in line for a few minutes before ordering. I wish there was a QR code or something to access the menu or view before we got to the front of the line. There were a few paper handouts at the front of the line so we were able to quickly glance to figure out what we wanted. We went for a croissant, Pistachio Latte, and a Butterscotch Latte. We had a little difficulty trying to find seating and didn’t feel comfortable walking up with lattes up the staircase so we found some seating to the side (benches) where we could sit. We had a chance to read up on the history of breweries in Indianapolis especially around the Prohibition Era that was quite interesting. The croissant and lattes were delicious. After finishing, we took some time to walk up the stairs where we found more seating, a bar area, and art pieces. We walked around there and observed all the different items. I definitely recommend everyone checkout Coat Check if they’re in Indy!
Eric Largy: Was a good place for a latte & start my day.
Meredith Blakey: I ordered an iced demerara latte when I visited for the first time a couple weekends ago and I've been craving it ever since! I had a few underwhelming coffee experiences recently, but this one was SO GOOD! There's a lot of seating available and the barista was friendly and helpful. I also ordered a brown butter chocolate chip cookie with sea salt and that was great too. I wish it hadn't taken me so long to try Coat Check and can't wait to go again soon.
Scott McDonald: Coffee was amazing.
Ashlyn Bedonie: Worst place! Over priced coffee and terrible service. No seats and very quite. You're better off trying to drink Starbucks at a library.
April Santiago: Wonderful and quality service, staff and food/beverages! Great place for a quick/casual business meeting, place to study or work!
Eduardo Navarro: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Medha Kulkarni: Coat Check Cafe is a fantastic spot to grab some coffee or a bite to eat. I tried their Butterscotch Latte, Croissant, and Caprese, and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food and drink. The latte was especially delicious, with a rich and creamy butterscotch flavor that was perfectly balanced with a hint of orange. The Caprese was also outstanding, with fresh mozzarella, pesto, and balsamic glaze all coming together to create a delicious and satisfying dish. The Croissant was flaky and buttery, with just the right amount of crunch. While I think Coat Check Cafe is definitely worth a visit, I must admit that the prices are quite steep. As a college student, I found the rates to be a bit unreasonable, and I think that this may be a deterrent for some potential customers.Additionally, I found their two-hour policy to be a bit perplexing. As a cafe, I would expect that Coat Check would be a place where people can come to study or work for extended periods of time. However, their policy seems to discourage this type of customer behavior, which I think is not very effective or customer-friendly. Overall, I still think that Coat Check Cafe is a great spot to check out, but their policies and prices may not be the best fit for everyone.
Philippe Bronchtein: This is a wonderful coffee shop in an incredibly unique space. Latte art was perfect and the barista was so kind. There was a patron doing Tarot readings on zoom with their computer volume all the way up, which to me, is unforgivable.Otherwise exceptional coffee shop. 10/10.
Bailey Murphy: The space was really cool and open, drink was delicious, and most of all the barista who took my order (didn’t catch his name but he had a mullet kind of haircut!) was very friendly and engaging and chatting with him while waiting for my drink made the experience pleasant!
Ila C: Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Sylva Zhang: Such a variety of seating options, and a large area to roam. Love to get a little work done after my workout at the Y.
Elizabeth m: This place is pricey (40 bucks for a bagel and coffee for two) but they had a bagel sandwhich (vegan pesto) here that was wayy worth the cost!! Unfortunitely this time around the sandwhich was put on a cheap hamburger bun instead of the usual crispy bagel, it tasted like canned tomatos were used instead of fresh like usual, and they forgot the vinaigrette that really elevates the sandwhich. I wish they would have told us they were out of most of the ingredients before we ordered, please bring this classic sandwhich back :( employees are nice though
Whitney Dawson: Loved their coffee and they had plenty of food options too!
Lily: Vegan options 👍Vegetarian options: Vegan bagel, sometimes vegan pastriesFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Vegan Breakfast Sandwich, Bagel and Schmear …More
G Fatima: 2nd visit to Coat Check Coffee after a year and the quality and ambience continue to surpass my expectations. The customer service is on par and the coffee is beyond any variety that I tried in Indiana. We tried Latte with miso, cardamom and a vegan bagel. The jalapeño paste with the impossible vegan patty and egg was a fusion taste explosion for our taste buds. We enjoyed the ambience on a very cold day and highly recommend the German history within the building.—————Oh my gosh! What did I stumble upon????Ambience - German, historic architecture. Open & spacious space, medieval era setup and beautiful details on every nook and corner of Coat Check. We were wowed by the little details.Coffee - Can I call out NIRVANA!? The speciality lattes are BOMB! butterscotch latte with the perfect hint of nuttiness and sweetness and the ginger latte with herbaceous notes of hibiscus and warmth of ginger. Let’s not forget the spice of chili de arbol! Wow just wow!Food - No I am not a coffee and food kinda person but today being a Sunday ordered Breakfast and Pesto Bialy sandwich. The schmear & flavors fell right in place. All in all highly recommend for work, stop by or enjoy a luxurious cup of coffee. Coat Check has my VOTE!Vegetarian options: Impossible vegan burgerParking: Street parking onlyDietary restrictions: Limited gluten free options

Kasandra Michaelis: Tea selection is always on point (today I tried lime ginger green rooibos!) I love the atmosphere and the sweetest baristas always. p.s. They typically have fresh bagels from Bagel Fair (in Nora), so I snagged a honey wheat and I'm already craving another. Cheers!

Devi: Industrial style interior and friendly barista’s. I ordered a blueberry muffin and a hot ginger tea. It’s quite spacious inside and you wouldn’t think that from the exterior.
Isaac K: Literally the best coffee in Indy! It’s a shame it’s a little hidden away but it’s worth finding! Brews and blends on menu all the time that you won’t find anywhere else, each lovingly crafted by hand each time. The kitschy decor of antique coffee cans and advertising items creates a unique ambiance to be appreciated. If you’re a local coffee lover, this is the place to be!

Andy Rice: Really enjoyed my visit to Quills. Great coffee and atmosphere inside their shop.
Jama Bradfield: Ordered a cappuccino and got a latte. Was told that's how they make cappucinos there. Drink was good for a latte, but very, very wet for a cappuccino. Would recommend not ordering a cappuccino- or letting them know you want it really dry. Flavor was great, tho. Nice and clean. Bus bin was full and needed swapped, but not a big deal. Everyone seated was in conversation and seemed very content.
Francesco Perinelli: Excellent coffee, croissants and service. Clean and bright, open-concept tables arrangement. Baristas are always professional and cheerful! Unfortunately the lack of a pastry-warmer toaster-oven, in lieu of their microwave, is very disappointing as you face the choice of a crispy and buttery, room temperature, croissant or a mushy warm one..

Christy Marsh: Great little coffee spot in Indy. Such a yummy coffee! We are already planning the next trip back!Parking: There was street parking available right there.
Muhammad Khalifa: This Indy outpost of one of Kentucky's best roasters continues to live up to expectations in their new space. Several options on batch, espresso, and pour over and an even larger selection of whole beans in bags. Natural Honduran on espresso was good, pour over washed Ethiopian was also good (they're running a Marcos automated system over a Kalita Wave). Picked up bags of Koji processed Colombian and a Guatemalan-grown Gesha that I'm looking forward to trying at home! Cookies from 4Birds bakehouse and pastries from another place that I don't remember the name of round out a solid cafe menu.Parking: On-street 30min free parking next to shop
Drew Stewart: Cortado + orange cranberry scone is the go-to!Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
James Roseman III: One of the best coffee shops in Indy. Quills is also easily my favorite location to pick up some coffee beans for when I make coffee at home.
