Keith Light: Try to go there Saturday, and the bouncer and whoever else he asked said my ID “looks weird”. What does that even mean? I’m 31 freaking years old and had a group of ppl backing me up. They were just discriminating against how I look because I’m not the biggest person in the world and have medical scar on my throat.

J V: Very confusing when you arrive up the elevator, it kinda just spits you out in the middle of the bar. But the drinks were good and the waitress was very sweet. The menu has appetizers on it but if you’re looking for something sweeter, ask for a dessert menu.

Shayla Smith: Perfect hidden gem for a quiet, intimate spot. An amazing date spot with low lighting and untraditional seating options (couches, chair, etc.). The menu matches St. Elmo appetizers so you can’t go wrong with anything. Great cocktails as well, and the service is too notch!

Anna Stuchlik: What a cute and fancier place to grab a drink and apps with friends! The atmosphere was soo fun! It is a speak easy, so seating is more limited (just be aware if you have a large group at a busy time)! The espresso martini was great! We had an amazing time celebrating, makes you feel very fancy adult !!
Micki: Great ambiance here. Located upstairs above St. Elmo's Steakhouse, it is accessed from just inside the restaurant. 1933 Lounge has a small menu of appetizers, including St. Elmo's famous shrimp cocktail. The bartender was very good. There's various forms of seating from at the bar to high top tables to couches and chairs. There's also a fireplace. Definitely check it out.

Bianca Gogel: I've always wanted to check out this place and was slightly disappointed. For a Saturday night it was quite dead, not a big deal because I'm not a fan of loud places. Found a spot at the bar, and the bartender was nice and quick. I will say the place could use a deep clean. It didn't smell pleasant and kept getting a whiff of something rotten. Also, many of the light bulbs were out and dusty.
richard haluska: Waited 15 minutes to get a drink. Then waited over an hour still no food. Watched the waitstaff let food sit for 10 minutes and never take it to table. Watched customers ask for coffee up to 3 times without getting any. No one is in charge. Food was taken to wrong tables. There were only 20 customers. Watched several people walk out. After no food and waiting 50 minutes. Watching several others get served and wait staff wondering why people didn't tip on the $4 cup of black coffee about a 10 oz cup. After asking 3 times. Only got 1 star because zero wasn't available.

J.R. Smith: My first repose when looking at these reviews was "4.4 stars, you gotta be $#!++ing me." We stopped in on the way to our room after an event at Lucas Oil (Saturday night) to use our 2 complimentary drink tickets for staying at the hotel. It took 20+ minutes to get served at the bar. 1 bar tender on each side, with 1 guy bussing. The bar was full of people, as so was the seating area surrounding the bar. Poorly managed in my opinion. Saturday night, downtown Indy, Lucas Oil event, the should have had bar tenders on each corner. Would have benefited the customers, as well as the pockets of the bar owners and staff. For a premierly priced bar to only have 1 drink well, at the end where she is secluded from the customers, is a bit absurd. The bar tender also kept her bottle opener at the well, yet the beer coolers are located throughout the bar, so she would need to continually run to the well to open the bottles... poor layout. To top it off, our order of a screwdriver with titos was made with pineapple juice... the washes were kept in similar looking bottles in the well, so I'm assuming the bar tendering couldnt easily identify the different juices. Next time we'll just forego that experience and spend the extra time to walk, and go somewhere else for a night cap.

With no more than five other customers in the bar it still took longer than 45 minutes after ordering to get food. Probably longer but we had to cancel the order to make an event. Budget 25 minutes for one round of drinks, and frankly 2 hrs for food. Absolutely no sense of urgency or care from staff.
Matt Panfil: Used to love Plat99, but last night went out for a drink for my wife's birthday, and we waited for 45 minutes and finally just left. The bartender told us he'd be with us, then served everyone that came in after. Felt weirdly targeted, also he was super unfriendly and insanely slow.

Jay Grieves: A perfectly serviceable hotel bar. They are sometimes staffed such that there's no table service, but it's a small place, so that's not too much of a problem. The small bites aren't great, but if you need something to nibble on, the grilled cheese is pretty good and, indeed, small. If Nesso, the hotel restaurant downstairs, is open, you probably want to go to their bar instead.

Charcuterie board wasn't good and it came with no crackers or silverware. On top of all that everything on the menu is overpriced. This was a Sunday after a Colts game before the Post Malone concert.

Jacob Hatcher: This used to be one of my favorite places to visit pre-pandemic. They had an extensive craft cocktail menu and always offered truffle popcorn. The service was impeccable and it was the perfect place to have a date night or catch up with friends.We stopped by this evening around 10pm (they are open until 12 on Saturday night) and the place felt like it had been forgotten about. The outside fire pits were off, tables put up, and couch cushions stained. No one greeted us when we came in and had to flag someone down to take our order after waiting for a while. The waitress definitely gave off the impression that we were bothering her by being there.We weren’t offered popcorn and they were closing and cleaning like it was past close, when they were open for another 2 hours. It definitely felt like they didn’t want customers to be there.The drink menu was pitiful and premade. In visits past it was a craft cocktail bar and they took pride in the drinks they served. We had the Platt 99 punch and it was awful.The server left for the night and just left her tables without saying a word; we had to find someone to pay our bill. It was disappointing returning after the pandemic to find this place in such disarray. I’d recommend going elsewhere.

Jose Leon: We visited on a Sunday evening and the place was was fairly empty for the bar. Most were there for the basketball (March Maddness). Service was okay but the steaks were perfect. Wife had the filet and I went for the bone in ribeye. They were outstanding. Mine was not fatty but marblie...deviene! The only thing in the doggie bag was literally the bone for out doodle back home. No room for desert but left feeling very satisfied. Oh and the new facelift was notable inside and out...! Decore was very plesent.

Devyn Rubino: We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Sullivans with my father-in-law. It was our second visit to Sullivan’s. Our server, Michael, was fantastic. I appreciated his recommendations for appetizers and steak enhancements. He also is the first server to ever recognize that my husband drinks a lot of water and brought him a second glass to keep filled. We truly enjoyed our time here and will continue to come back.

Holly Krajewski: My cocktail was terrible. French Martini is my go to drink and I was told the bartender at Sullivan's makes theirs with gin. The recipe calls for vodka so I requested vodka. I took 2 small sips and left it on the table the rest of the evening. The waitress never asked what was wrong or why I wasn't drinking it. For $16, it should be right, right? Alas. S. Warren: Best food on Mass Ave bar none. The service is VERY hit or miss though. If you sit on the 3rd floor, there is a chance you wont get your food very quickly as instead of making it easy on their servers, they make them walk from the basement up 2-3 flights of stairs to deliver food. Its ridiculous. And in the bar, you will typically get the worst servers for some reason even though they aren't busy they're impossible to find. Again, best food on Mass Ave and highly recommend it!
Hutch: Our poor experience started off by being seated in the dining room when I had reserved an upstairs table. The dining room was so loud I could barely hear my friends who were with me and so hot that people were taking their sweaters off. I ordered the filet, medium, and when it arrived, it looked great. However; when I was a third of the way through it; it was obviously rare! Not medium rare, rare! I sent the steak back thinking a new one would be prepared properly. I was wrong. My old steak was recooked along with a small piece I had cut off earlier. This may be acceptable for a $20 steak, but not when I’m paying $50 for a small filet. I politely declined the recooked piece of meat and just ate some of my wife’s chicken so we could leave. Andrew Halterman: Server was great. Wasn’t impressed by the food. Cream spinach was like soup, crab cakes were bland and we found a hair in the them. Rib-eye was smothered in some kind of pineapple glaze that made the steak almost like rubber when cutting it. Other dishes may be better, but overall we walked away unimpressed.

Mass Ave is great as it has lots of boutique shops and restaurants on the strip. Parking meters line the street and it's a bit difficult to pull in and out of a space due to the narrowness of the strip.

ben judkins: In town for the Fringe festival we found this cool downstairs bar that had interesting drinks and a cool vibe. It was my friends birthday that week so we decided to have a small group meet there Sunday night to surprise her. I called ahead 2 days in advance to make sure it was OK and was told they would love to have us. Fast forward to the night, when we got there, the only 2 employees had been told nothing about our group but seemed ready to deal with it. The bartender even asked me for a list of songs she'd like to hear, which blew me away.I was so sure the night would be epic.Within a half hour not only was the stellar customer service gone, they were outright rude to us. Also, they took individual drink orders and then when dropping off the drinks suddenly wouldn't hand them out without a credit card... Mind you, I had been there twice earlier in the week and was never asked to start a tab...So in review, this place has a great atmosphere and a cool vibe and good drinks. But need to figure out how to run a bar...

The menu is unique having inspirational quotes, along with distinctive drinks. Next time I come back to Indy I’ll be stopping by this great establishment!

April: I have been coming here for about a year and am disappointed to say the quality has dropped dramatically. They seem to be understaffed with long wait times. The bathrooms were pretty gross with a toilet bowl cleaner thrown in the corner, dusty shelf, and stained chair. Overall it seems like they just aren’t properly maintaining things. Cracked booths and worn menus etc.

Some things were really salty, nothing really blew us away but at the same time wasn't that bad. Salmon feels like an odd choice for fish and chips, didn't really work for us and the breading was also really thick, more like it was wrapped in bread than having a crispy covering.The bigger problem was definitely the speed of service. I am guessing they must be horribly understaffed right now, because this was probably some of the slowest service I ever had at a restaurant. Ordering our first drinks had probably a 10-15 minute wait. Felt like at least 15 minutes after I had ordered my second drink. Seemed like nearly everything we were waiting an extra 10-15 minutes longer than you would expect. We showed up around 7:30, and despite only having 2 drinks, an appetizer, and main, we were not able to pay up and leave until around 10:30. Even with the slow speed of delivery on the food, we were ready to leave closer to 9:30 or so.If you're not in a hurry and just want some decent bar food and drinks this may be okay, but with the amount of options we have in the Indy metro area I doubt we'll be going back anytime soon.

Being in the service industry and a career bartender two bite check backs are extremely important and a mandatory step of service in most establishments just for this reason. I immediately went elsewhere for my 2nd dinner as I was starving and disappointed.At least the sun was out and the patio was open.
Jeff Newby: There are a lot of tvs to watch which is nice. The hostess sat our group of six at two tables for four. We had to push the tables together ourselves. Service is slow. It took over an hour to get our food. I'm glad we got the pretzel appetizer. The dipping sauce for the pretzel had a thick later of film on it and was cold. When our food arrived, it was cold. Sent the French onion soup back to get heated up and got a new bowl that was barely warm. The soup must be done up before and then sets out. The chicken tenders were sent out without any sauce. By the time the sauce arrived, the chicken was cold. We are there for two hours for a meal, and to change our plans for the evening. They did comp my wife's meal that she did not eat.Update. A member from the chain sent me a message asking for me to email them to make things right the following week. I sent the email that day and never received a response back. That was almost two months ago.
Thomas Benoist: Our experience here was amazing. It was a beautiful Saturday night and we got seated right away. Within a minute, our waitress, Brooke, came over to welcome us. She was very knowledgeable about the tap menu, and even offered to bring samples of the cider my partner was choosing between. She helped us decide between what we were considering on the menu, and gave her recommendations. I got the left coast sandwich, as a wrap (her suggestion) and it was delicious! We will definitely be back, and make sure to ask for Brooke. Overall stellar experience!

When I told the server to take it off my bill, his response “I already did” no apology. Food took 45 minutes and there were only 4 other tables occupied. wanza schweiger: Went in and sat at the bar for 10 minutes and even tried to kid with two young lady bartenders that we must be on wrong side of bar. No service, no "I'll be right with you". Just one complaining to the other that she's had to work five days straight. Looked at us , pulled two menus and went back around the bar to the other side. Sad.
