Dep Kirkland: Dog Ear Publishing (and boss Ray Robinson) have gone dark, along with my royalties. And my book is no longer available. They do not respond to phone or email (numerous attempts by both methods for many months). I have also enlisted the help of the Better Business Bureau in that jurisdiction, to no effect - Dog Ear also ignored the BBB's inquiries. Something happened to them and a couple of very key employees left. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

queen hatchett: Dogear publishing is no longer a credible publihsing company and has been discredited with the BBB. Lawsuits have been filed against them and they are not returning people's phone calls at this time. I am an author who published with them in 2006 and researched why I was not receiving my royalties only to find out that hundreds have been scammed by them.

Steve Walker: Very, very poor at responding to questions. Extremely late in royalty payments (the reason of which is probably they're in financial trouble). Warning: you really need to call and talk to people other than the owner. I'm pretty sure they have let all their office staff go. Calls to their office (5/17/19) go to a mailbox which is full and cannot receive messages.ADDITIONALLY: If you call the owner's number below (Ray Robinson), it says that the mailbox is full and no longer can receive messages. Robinson and DogEar has not paid my royalties for any sales in 2019, and despite his blustering to the contrary probably will not. Go ahead and call his number and try to contact him—it's the least you can do before giving him any of your hard-earned money. And oh, by the way Ray, my name is Steve Walker, one of your more successful authors.

Britt Andreatta: Do NOT use Dog Ear Publishing. They stopped paying authors last year, myself included, and many of us lost thousands of dollars that Dog Ear received for our hard work. Check their rating on the Better Business Bureau website and see all the complaints for yourself.

Marie Bern: Sorry, but Dog Ear Publishing is not paying royalties/commissions to its authors. They owe me for 2018; I have called many times; emailed many times; even got Ray's real voice once several months ago and he said he'd send me my check, but he never did. Not sure why this is happening.

Robert Walker: No authors are going to get their royalties from this company. They publisher is in financial troublee and don't answer any phone calls or emails. Great number of complaints @BBB and no responses from the company owner Ray Robinson. Stay away!

DeeAnn Schumacher: Do not do business with this company. They will not pay author royalties. I sold 630 books on Amazon 2017 and have not received payment. They will not answer their phone or emails. They sent me a 1099 for $945 when I did not see a penny of that money. When you self-publish with this company as a third party it gives them distribution rights for your book so they don't care if they pay their author they will continue to sell your book on Amazon. So far there are 11 of us authors who have not been paid. UPDATE- There are now 23 authors who have not been paid royalties from Dog Ear no matter what Ray Robinson says. He replied to this review and said i was paid. Ray show me a photo of the front and back of that check that shows I have been paid since it is your word against mine. Upload it! I would like to see that check. So your the only one who speaks the truth and 23 of us authors are lying? What is our motivation? Happy authors do not file claims with the Attorney General of Indiana. I should report you for tax evasion for sending me a 1099 when I didn't get that check and I bet that you used it as a deduction. Any authors out there thinking of self-publishing with Dog Ear? You don't have to take my word for it. Check out the Alliance of Self-Publishers website. Dog Ear is on their watchdog advisory list. See for yourself who is telling the truth here. BERNICE STEPHENS: I have never received a sales report in 2 years and 8 months.No one tells the truth about Royalties. I have never reveived any despite knowledge of many sales. No one communicates. Must hire an attorney for royalties and other vital information.

Robert W. Audretsch: I am an author and published five books with Dog Ear beginning in 2011. At that time, and until 2018, they paid my royalties on time. However beginning in 2018 my royalty checks stopped. In late 2018 Dog Ear sent me a supplementary check for much of 2018 after I complained. However since then I have received only one royalty check. I indicated my displeasure with the stopping of my royalties by certified mail. They have not answered my request. In July. 2019 I sent a request to Dog Ear for PDFs of my five books by certified mail. According to my contracts I am entitled to these. Dog Ear did not respond to my last certified letter. Currently, as of July, 2019, Dog Ear is only posting sales of my books through February, 2019. I am very unhappy about this shameful treatment and urge extreme caution with any dealings with Dog Ear. Since 2018 I have continued to publish books but with others than Dog Ear.

Tim Barnes: If you want real reviews on Dog Ear, just read those on Yelp! My experience with them is 1 star at best.

Gary Lemon: The real problem is they don’t send out checks for the books that have been sold. I cannot recommend. I won a legal judgement but still have not received a check.

Heidi Auman: I published my book with Dog Ear in 2014 and it started as a positive experience and I was pleased with the results. Around 2016, the royalty checks slowed then stopped, despite significant sales. Despite my frequent emails, royalties were not sent until after contacting the BBB two years in a row. And then, only four months' royalties out of twelve were sent. I now have twelve months of unpaid royalties and considering legal action. AVOID THIS PUBLISHER and avoid heartache.

Dawn Waters: Have not been paid royalties since 2018 for 2017 sales. Left messages weekly now daily for Ray Robinson with no response. Not sure how to remedy this. Can’t even get in touch with someone to remove my book from Amazon so they can’t continue to profit from my book sales. Very disappointing. What are those who have had similar experiences done? Lawyer? At this point these people need to be shut down. Total frauds.

Joshlyn Gabrielle: Beware of this scam of a company. My mother published through this company about 6 months ago and she has never received a royalty check even though we know many people have bought her book. Everytime she emails or calls to try and reach someone they never answer. She drove out to to their office a few weeks ago and the office is empty and they never notified anyone. The website she paid for isn't up and running, and the website is suppose to be for a lifetime. Yesterday, I was searching on Amazon and noticed another author had the exact book cover my mother has, and she paid for that too.. honestly I could keep going but do not waste your time.. they are scammers!

Leslie Kelley: I have not received a single royalty check for sales of my cvhildren's book since 2017, though the owner, Ray, promised me a check by mid February.... There are other small-time authors who are experiencing the same issue. DO NOT USE THIS PUBLISHER.

Eric Caron: You'll get a book but DE will not pay you your royalty! This appears to be a pattern of conduct...for many! Stay away.

Mark McKinney: Several edits that were clearly marked were missed several different times, dragging the editing process out over several months due to their poor attention to detail. Very slow to work with, so I do not recommend them.
