Indy Reads: what do users think?
Adrienne Jones: Cozy local bookstore with excellent organization and cool displays.Always a pleasure to browse. Great kids and YA sections.Supports local literacy programs and local writers. One of my favorite stops in Indianapolis.
dawn charbonneau: Wonderful bookstore and organization with a mission to provide adult literacy classes and training for folks studying for GED testing. I absolutely LOVE the welcoming and eclectic bookstore space and so proud to support this wonderful mission.
Lainey B: Great local book shop that also has adult education classes.
Jordan Irwin: I donated a small canvas bags of books that I used to love. The greeting received was from a notepad on the front desk stating SOMEONE was indeed in the building. The first woman to greet me looked like she didn’t belong there, just meek and confused. The woman who DID know what was going on informed me donations (if good enough for your standards!) are only accepted on the first Friday. She then repeated it not once, not twice, but three times. Thankfully my books met your standard of quality, so she took my donated books. Not one thank you or have a nice day from anyone. I will now gladly donate, purchase, and read elsewhere in Indy.
Sarah W: Delightful bookstore! Always a great selection, wonderful vibes, and they have an awesome mission!
Morgan Thompson: Amazing bookstore with amazing staff. Thank you again, Toby!
barb c: Great local place to hang out and buy books. Love the service that they provide back to the community! Excellent staff!

Amanda Thompson: Loved the themed table right up front! Was exactly what I needed! :)
Alexander Geragotelis: This store has great selection and really reasonable prices! It also supports a great cause and I'm really glad I stopped in!
Ziyad SM: What a lovely place! I have spent my Saturday morning reading with a beautiful group of people from different places in the world, and it was great. Definitely a worth coming library.
Jennifer Burns: Super fun space filled with local authors, used books and new. Some books are even signed by the authors for purchase! Very unique book store!
Sanjay Vardhan: Great place to get used books and local reads. Nice to volunteer also.
Bri Bell: Amazing book store with a great purpose and passion for the community. Absolutely love coming here. The staff is excellent and they have a great selection of the classics. Really appreciate what they are doing for others.
Kalista Q: Nice people friendly but no handicap door
Erin Donovan: I have loved Indy Reads from the moment I stepped in to their Mass Ave location and I am thoroughly pleased to see them settle in so well to Fountain Square. Feels so good to have my favorite local bookstore back 💚
Timothy Dunkel: Best bookstore in indy. Great scifi selection

Kids Ink Children's Bookstores: what do users think?
Amy Arroyo: Very knowledgeable and helpful staff! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and searching through their extensive book collection. Clean, friendly, and the kids loved it.
Jean Ford: Wonderful store, knowledgeable staff!
guy zaczek: When a store can service just kids and the clerks can find any book in the store ... this becomes a very special place. Please keep stocking local authors who sign their books.
Elizabeth Fischer: One of those places that makes Indy a charming place to live. Thanks for being there!
Lisa N: Fantastic store with an impressive collection.
Cari Morales: Wow. What an awesome Indy Gem! Absolutely loved this bookstore! After googling Indianapolis bookstores, my partner and I landed on this cute little book store in Broad Ripple. I was shopping for a 4 and 2 year old and their board book collection was excellent! We were specifically looking for Spanish books and although their collection was relatively small, it did not disappoint! They even gift wrapped our books for our little loved ones and recommended we come back since their books rotate. We will definitely be back!
Elisa: Very friendly staff
Lu Em: Staff so helpful! My hard-to-please young reader loved the suggestion by one of the staff members. She kept trying until he agreed...and he finished the book in two days. This is a gem of a bookstore. Check it out.
barbara harvey: Great children's book syore
Jami S: Loved the selection of books and toys.
Lonnie Stare: Good books
Mark Schroeder: Great little neighborhood bookstore with Playmobil!
Melissa Barnes: Cute little bookstore in a great neighborhood. The parking lot adds huge value by making it easy to visit! Staff were friendly and helpful.
HerbmamaSujai at Peaceful Wellness: These ladies go out of their way to help you find what you are looking for. They have always (for years) been pleasant, helpful and well versed in the latest books and authors. I called ahead in search of a specific type of book for my grandson, for Christmas. When I arrived at their store, they had a small stack of books, preselected, for me to look through. I found what I needed and with only 2 days until Christmas, I was thrilled!
Amanda Austin: Wonderful service there today! They tolerated my 2 year old and even helped me out to the car!
Andrea Hunley: Love this local bookstore! They often have author visits (and when they don’t there are often autographed copies of books available).
Dan & Melissa Moran: Such a lovely selection of children's books! And a cozy setting that makes book lovers of all ages feel welcome!
Jourdyn Gray: Love this bookstore! They are very knowledgeable about the books they carry and if you can't find the one you're looking for or they're out, they will gladly order it for you. They do carry majority youth books, but they do have a few popular books geared towards adults.
Sharon Crooke: Getting book ideas for birthdays and Christmas. Wonderful book store. Kids enjoy all the choices.Grownups enjoy having a placeto buy books plus many extras.
Andrew George: Wonderful local children's book store. Staff is very well informed and can help with age appropriate books. Also active in sponsoring author events.
Michell Anderson: Super cute little book store. They also host fun programs.

Books on Sale: what do users think?
liz d: Its moving soonso everything is 50% off.
Tiffany: Really great selection! Thousands of books to look through...something for everyone here!
Melvin Hernandez: Solo libro de istoria DVD no computadora ni fan para en viar archivo
kittylove Fordyce: I love books
Stephanie Warrix: Lots and lots and lots of books.
christina charles: I am one who loves to support small book stores, but this one is a scam. They have tons of books and a pretty great selection. Which can be overwhelming in a good way! When you look at the price it seems off that a used book would be $12.98. When you look at the original printed price it is $6.99. The $12.98 version has spills and pages falling out. I continued my peruse through the store in hope to find a steal, but there was not one single book in the three sections I’m most interested where the pricing made any sense. One book they had gotten from Half Price Books. The $3 sticker from Half Price Books was still in it. The Books on Sale price $12.98. The original price of the book $9.99. I don’t understand how a used book store has prices more expensive than the actual book. There are laws against stores being able to do this as it does fall under price gouging. If I were this store I would go through and see what the used price for these books is currently and fix the pricing to make sense.
Sandra MariSol: Great selection in every genre. I enjoy the poets and literature, they had a lot. I'll be back!
Joanne Adams: Best place around to get gently used books. Always go there first!!!
Alexander Geragotelis: This book store has really great selection, with a wide range of new and used books in a variety of genres. The books are also really affordable, great store to check out
Kevin Moss: Good
Marlene Dunlevy: The book store has a very interesting selection but they put price stickers on vintage books that ruin them because when you try to take them off, it takes off part of the cover. It’s a true shame. We bought $80 worth of books and half of the covers are now ruined by their price stickers.
Emmy Barnes: Very cute bookstore with SO many books packed inside! Excellent selection and the staff was really friendly and helpful! I purchased 5 books for $20, less than the price of one book at a store like B&N. Highly recommend this place and it was in a cute suburb of Indy, an easy 10 minute Uber ride from downtown
Jane Doe: Stopped by in search of some manga to add to my decorum. I knew the store was large and messy from reading previous reviews. Employees were very nice and helped me find what sections I was looking for. I was a little disappointed to find there wasn't a good pricing system. Some books were more expensive than when published, these aren't rare or anything. I found some books that were discounted from original price by 2 cents. And others of the same book, paperback and same condition for prices ranging from $9-$12. There are a lot of books to look at, mostly older romance novels but a decent selection of others. I wouldn't go in there looking for a specific title but rather a new find. Employees were very helpful though!
Phyllis Seedorf: Has a little bit of everything you would want to read. If you can’t find it ask someone about it.
Carrie Knight: Nice ppl.. large selection
Cody WILLIAMS: Incredibly Rude closing staff . If you do choose to go here you're going to want to come in when they are opening or middle of the day. UPDATE: Imagine Being a store Owner and not being able to take honest reviews well. Yikes.
Hannah Emanuel: This is the best secondhand book store! Even better than Half Price Books. The manager is a wonderful woman and always helpful!
Kathy W: Came an hour before they were supposed to close. Would not let me look around the store unless I knew what i wanted. Worse book store in the area. Would not recommend going here. Got a reply to this review was told I was lying that I came in after they closed which is not true and that the lady working there offered to let me shop also a lie. She said I could shop if I knew what I wanted which I didn't I just wanted to browse. Also they threatened to ban me which go ahead ban me I do not care I would never come to your store again. Was not impressed the first time I came there and was not impressed this past time either.Update I never said she didn't try to help me so maybe you need to learn how to read. I didn't come in after the store was closed the door was still unlocked when I came in. There was a sign on the door that said your store was open until 8pm and it was only about 7pm almost a full hour before 8pm. So the only one about to be embarrassed is you. If you have footage then you'll see the door was unlocked she didn't let me in and I left cause I wasn't looking for something specific. Which I was told if I was not that I had to leave and the only thing that I said to your damn employee was that the sign on the door said that you closed at 8pm not 7pm. Above and beyond I think not I think having a damn sign on your door that post the correct time you close then maybe but not until then. Once again I'd like to know how you were closed at 7 when your sign says 8 seems to me like you all can't make up your mind when you close. Oh well though your store sucks anyways plenty of other nicer bookstore in the area and I will make sure people know to not come to your store.
Mr Brink: Awesome place
Samantha: Decent selection of used/sometimes new books; the buy 3 get 2 free makes their pricing pretty fair
Ashunti Taylor: An awesome place full of knowledge love it

Half Price Books: what do users think?
Tina Majors: Always a great find
Donald Sutherland: Lowball on buys!
Paul Alter: Great service
Jon Adams: Nice selection and easy to navigate. Prices are pretty fair.
James Morrison: I love the location of this store and they have so much to offer. I never know what I will find and found a manga that was out of print.
Karin Michelle: We love going here for books! The selection is huge and changes often as they are always purchasing used books. My kids always find something to read and we don’t have to spend much. The store is also clean and the staff is friendly
John Sweezy: I love going to this store. My oldest child is really big in graphic novels right now, and they have a great selection. If they don't have it the staff is super helpful finding what you are looking for. Also the prices are hard to beat with the occasional new book sitting on the shelf.
Hannah Linder: Always a great experience. Staff are so helpful and happy to be there.
Chris Bowen: Like it, but some of the Tech books I bought are out of date.
Steve Motto: Love this place and others too !
Emma Lanley: Such a cool store!!! Although I will say, very few books were truly “half off” their list price.
beth smith: You can find books about everything
Ben Pittsley: Wish they’d pay more for reselling.
Jaxx Steele: I always check here first. I don't have to recharge a book when traveling
chance french: Always fun to see what they have in stock
Crystal Taylor: Plenty of books!
Eric Penington: One of my favorite Half Price Books Locations. Just a warning though, whenever you trade things in, don't expect to get much for them. Try to sell your valuable stuff on eBay or another way. At a different location, I recently got low-balled on a large amt. of books and records. I still took the store credit because I was glad to get rid of the stuff and do think HPB is great. Update: Took another large box of books in and they only gave me $5. Probably only .10 per book and there were several like new cond. kids and young adult books in there. Half Price books… please be more fair to your customers and pay us more for our stuff!
JustFollow Kenya (Mswhatleysworld): Lots of toys, books, albums, games for a great price. A cozy place to shop. They buy used books etc for resale.
Erin FoxDoan: This was honestly my first trip to Half Price Books. We found an amazing Edgar Allen Poe collection that had a beautiful inscription from a son to his mother in it.And a Kiss vinyl!!I will be returning!!
Vipul Patel: This was a gem find for book-lovers like me. It has nice collection of books. Fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, comics, puzzles and a lot more. Prices are, if not completely half, then at least less than actual market price. True joy is to find that some old good books amongst treasure troves of book shelves. You can also sell your books here. Good initiative. Must visit place for book-worms.
Zach Bowman: Great place! One of my favorites. Books, vinyl records, board and card games, etc. Great source for all of the above. Something always catches my eye.

Books-A-Million: what do users think?
Karl Perry: Large selection of magazines in addition to books.
crystal shelton: Very unique bookstore! Lots of stuff Barnes and noble doesn't have. Not a crowded store. Nice staff. Decent parking lot. Nowhere to sit though. Not as many toys as Barnes and noble but different stuff they don't have
Brad Zachary: Nice people and lots of books, but not very friendly if you want to be able to sit down.
Jessica Hamilton: Very helpful staff. Alot of good books and keepsake collectible items. A little pricey but sometimes has a great clearance section
Dan Holmes: Not much of a selection
ZaC Wright: Great selection, average pricing, friendly staff. Seemed to only have cashiers for staffing so help isn't readily available if needed.
Jenny Pietrzyk: They have it all!
Óscar: Fairly decent selection but why is there so much hilter in the kids section in the back by the restrooms. Like why is end days of his life front in center?! Yall had plenty of choices to not glorify his importance.
melissa oskins: Enjoy ordering, my only complaint is with delays via usps
Keith Beeler: Better selection at this branch than others I've been to.
Fabulous MDB: Nice and quiet. It's easy to browse here for hours. The only drawback I've experienced is staff is reluctant to give a small adjustment to the price of a book if there is visible damage (i.e to the spine etc) so be aware that your request may fall on deaf ears.
Sherry Masters: Love to find new authors to read.
Devon Tran: Books-A-Million? more like books a couple thousand. jk jk great place lmao
LA* Andrew: They had everything we were looking plus more. Customer service was great and the store was clean.
carmela ward: Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Great selection!
Aubrey Dufour: Absolutely love the availability of books and gift options
Katy Cunningham: I get caught up in this place, enjoying the infiniteous amount of books, you’ll find out more of yourself than you thought while there.
wustholz81: Good book store
Someone Else: I really don't know what to say. I guess it is what it is. BORING!
Amber L: I wish they had a bigger selection of occult, religious, etc books.
Claire Haselhorst: Great location, helpful staff

Downtown Comics: what do users think?
Joe K.: Absolutely the best comic shop in Indianapolis! Props to the downtown store, of course, but I LOVE the Castleton store!!
Lothran: Guy working was so rude. He acted like anything I asked him, I was interrupting his lean on the counter time. I asked 2 questions that only he would be able to answer about the availability of two specific comics.Comic Carnival is 100x better. Both selection and service.
Paul Schmitt: Excellent selection and staff. Best around.
Aleisha Burton: Wide selection and friendly staff
kyle jones: Awesome selection!
Jason Kimble: Everything you expect from a comic shop.
Bill London: Helpful and good variety of items
Megan Alam: Wide selection and great prices. Really enjoy this spot.
Jason Rimmert: Pete was friendly and helpful, just like he always is. Thank you.
Linda Smith: I was given a comic collection and knew nothing about them. I went here first for some sort of education and value. Two men took, at max, 15 minutes to look through 798 comics and then offered me $500 for the lot. I said I had another appointment and was told if I left they would have to look them over again and that would somehow be an extra burden. I went to Comic Carnival and Tim Reynolds took 3 1/2 hours valuing each comic with an offer almost 3 times what these rip off guys did. Don’t ever go to this store - fast buck, bilk the ignorant customer.
Eric Teske: Glad to have such a great, friendly, and well stocked comic book store on the north side. Ask about subscribing to your favorite books through pre-orders so they always have new releases waiting for you.
SakaRaki: Love the amount of new comics, and a decent backlog of back issues.
Ryan Kelley: This is my favorite comic book store. They are always extremely helpful any time I need a suggestion or a reminder that I already have a certain book. Top notch service every time.
Tim Coughlin: Great store!
Amber Lowe: Love this place! They have great customer service, a great selection of books for all ages, and the place is always neat and orderly.Been to several of their events and they've all been well managed and with a high, positive energy.Definitely recommend a visit whether it's good for tenured fans or someone new-to-comics!
Brittney Stimson: I like their selection of books, but the staff isn't very friendly or personable.
Steve Hobbs: I came in and let the store know which back issue I had come in for. Even though it was five minutes until closing she immediately dropped everything she was doing and searched the bins until she located it for for me. This place really knows how to put the service in customer service!!
sasha H: Asked if they had a specific run. They said yes so I look around and couldnt seem to find it anywhere so I asked for help. They simply responded with “its in alphabetical order” and looked annoyed that I even asked. After I looked for 5-10 10 minutes, they later said it was sold out, after they told me that they had it! And 2 of the comics I tried buying weren’t for sale until the next day.. next time don’t put items that aren’t for sale on the stands!!! Sad excuse for a comic shop.
Big Hens: Not a good buyer at all came by the store trying to sell my comic books from the '60s and '70s in good condition he only offered me $60 felt insulted you better off selling your comic books on Facebook marketplace or eBay.
Brendon Vanzile: Great place to buy Comics, Collectibles, and books. Manager is always super nice and supportive
Robert Glass: Best comic shop in North Indy! One of three shops around the city, this one is great for all North Siders and Fishers residents. Huge selection and friiendly staff. If you can't find what you're looking for at this location, they can always try to track it down from their other stores to get to you.

Red Dog Books: what do users think?
MrDjjustice24: Me and our oldest always end of spending way more then we were supposed to! Awesome assortment of all types of books and hidden gems! Great prices and great service! Free coffee and seats all over the store help with reading book intros!
S Miller: Lots and lots and lots of books all reasonably priced. Very happy with the books I’ve found even if it takes a lot of digging in some places.
David “D-Ray” Davis: Super big bookstore with lots of books and everything is currently half off!
Mel Goins: This place could have so much potential if they organized this store. Ive seen more organized. Book shelves look like they were all pushed over and they fell on the floor. And oddly when I go. The person working is sitting down NOT working. You guys have got to get it organized and cleaned up.
Robert Long: CDs and LPs are mostly junk. Prices as I was best able to determine were sky high. Half price claims are hogwash. Didn’t pay much attention to books but from what I saw they seemed high. Thirty minute drive was a waste.
Kristen Wright: Great place to look for old CD's!
Linda Gamble: Found lots of books that I was looking for.
Nate Alvis: Disarray, unorganized, fallen shelves, workers not organizing products instead on their phones.
Alyssa DiBenedetto: Love this store. So many options.
Mary Swain: So they are doing a lot of shifting of their inventory. If you have a couple of hours to get lost and want to find little treasures this is the place. Used books at half price sale going on now.
Nicholas Wilson: Manager was extremely helpful and docked prices even further at register. Got about $100 worth of books for $25
Megan Hobaugh: If you have hours and hours to spend rifling through boxes and boxes of unorganized, unmarked boxes...this is your place. It's for the adventurous spirit.
Sunspark 1254: Manga was extremely over priced they wanted $24.95 for the first Demon slayer manga which literally is 9.99 else where
Kevin Stoneking Newland: I found what I was looking for. Great selection and prices were reasonable.
Susan Miller: Fabulous selection, great prices and outstanding customer service. Wonderful addition to the southside and I will definitely make this a priority when looking for books and DVDS. The assoicate was extremely friendly and helpful.
isdelilah: This place is asking too much for their books when not too far down there's a barnes & noble asking for less.
Marilyn Roberts: Huge huge book store.Prices are high..even with buy 3 two freeThese are used books.
Cara Pratt: Tons of books and informative, kind staff
Ken Flynn: Wasn't open... but the last time I was there it was great, they had an amazing selection of sci-fi/fantasy. Hopefully next time!
Joseph Flory: Seems like an OK place, but call before you go. You can't trust the hours that are online or even what they post on their door. Unprofessional.
Jacob Surface: Great selection, almost TOO much to look at. They had some nice finds, but thier prices were oddly high on some pretty common items.

Black Dog Books: what do users think?
Lois Hess: Visiting this shop made my day! It was a warm, inviting atmosphere with so many unique books to browse. I think I could have stayed all afternoon!
Joachim Indermaur: If you love rare finds, old books and first editions you have to check this place out. For a book lover this is like “candy land”.
Stephanie Addington (Steph): So happy to have discovered this delightful shop!
Phillip Hogan: Very cool bookstore. The maps of US states and cities are worth the go by themselves. All are 75+ years old and make a cool decoration. The books themselves are in good condition. The shop is neat and orderly and the owner was helpful and kind.
Alicia Benedetto: This is just the loveliest bookstore! A beautifully curated collection of rare and antique books, beautifully bound classics, and vintage maps, all under the watchful eye of Sophie, a sweet black lab. The booksellers are knowledgeable and helpful, but unobtrusive, allowing one to quietly explore and discover. My favorite part was the children's section where I saw so many childhood favorites.
G Norris: There was a dog, she was very good
Stephen Famolaro: Great local place to buy books.
L L: Used to spend hundreds at this place but recent visit astonished me. Masks required, fine. Masks required for a 2 year old, that’s incredibly arbitrary. I don’t want my child be ‘cultivated’ this way from the age of 2. I’m sure there are other good places for old books.
monika tomar: Amazing collection and they also have old typewriters (working) and a typewriter day
Montgomery Tschohl: Great selection and the lady at the front desk, Nora I think it was, was super nice! Not a place to look for cheap used books - but great for finding old and historical editions of books!
Jill S: I adore this bookshop! Cozy and full of a wonderful selection of books! I could stay here all day!
Kimberly Bright: Wonderfully eclectic selection! Impressive number of local history titles, maps, U.S., English, and European history and literature, first editions, rare older books, and art/design.
Greg Keutzer: Very good selection of hard to find books.
Kimmy Polen: Although I’m not a customer, I was treated with respect. I needed knowledge about a book and reached out to him via email. He responded back immediately and in the evening. I was very impressed. Worried at a major chain I’d be ignored I’m or at an appraiser I’d be taken advantage of for my lack of knowledge. I read google reviews. Considering most people only leave reviews when they are unhappy. I felt good vibes about trusting this guy with my question. He was quick to reply, he was thorough, very polite and extremely knowledgeable. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone. Honestly is something money can’t buy these days. This guy is giving it away for free. I’d buy a Book just for that. Plus the store is beautiful. It needs to be added to the list of must see places when you visit Indiana.
dumpsta-divrr365: I was really disappointed with their literature section. They did have some really nice editions in what they did have, plus some signed books. The historical section was pretty big and they had a ton of stuff by/about Charles Dickens if you're interested in that. It was still a nice store and I would probably come back if they had more stuff I was interested in.
Beth Williams: Great selection of out of the ordinary books!
Geoff: Nice local bookstore with an interesting collection. I personally liked the wrapped "Blind Date With A Book" idea, fun way to pick a new read!
Susan Bruno: Unique books and a charming atmosphere. Love the Zionsville village location. Allow lots of time to thoroughly browse the exceptional selection of books and other unusual items displayed in the store. You won't be disappointed.
Jamie Lecklitner: I reached out to the store to see if I could have several books (most dated in the late 1800s early 1900s) appraised and subsequently sold through the store. I received one response that stated they do appraisals if they are interested in the books. I responded that I would like to move forward with getting a deal accomplished but received no further responses. I followed up on multiple occasions and at one point asked if they were not interested to please let me know. Still no response. If this is how they treat potential customers then I don't recommend their business.
Pamela Wampler: The books are high-quality and the service is excellent. Going there is always a pleasure.
Lisa Damon: Great bookstore.
