There were a few berries and streusel on top, but absolutely none inside of the rest of the body.I couldn’t taste anything which would have identified as key lime .

Two people will struggle to finish a slice so you don't need to order more than one.The place was overcrowded and cramped, service was poor. You couldn't fit more than one person between the tables. If it wasn't hyped up and half the price, I would've given it a 4 out of 5.

Mula Patel: This visit was a disappointment. I've brought my mom several times before, but I am not sure if we will be back. We made reservations and arrived on time. It took a bit to be acknowledged and several minutes for someone to come back and seat us. This location is very tiny, and we could see three open tables and there was no reason we should not have been seated right away. It then took several minutes for the server to show up. He was friendly but a little more concerned with giving a dramatic welcome than he was with attentive service. It took nearly 10 minutes to get an iced tea and coffee once he finally took our drink order. I had to get up and find him to get refills. We ordered choose two combos which took a very long time to receive. In all, we were in the restaurant well over an hour before our meals were served. The cakes were beautiful, as always, but the portions were smaller. Hard to believe because they were still big, but it was noticeable, and we compared them to photos from past visits just to be sure. At $16 per slice, you expect a large slice. The coconut cake was very dry. The filing was amazing, but I don't know that it made up for a dry sponge. In the past we always ordered cake to take home but this time we didn't bother. The atmosphere is adorable, and my mom loves to go there but it cannot stand on charm alone. The focus needs to return to the cakes for which the restaurant is named and to improve the quality of service.

I am so thankful to have had that slice because I now know what cake tastes like for the first time in my life.I looked at their website and Taylor's Bakery undersell themselves on it. Your cakes deserve awards. Have you searched online how to get Oprah to try it for her favorites list? Have you competed in any of the major contests? You should have awards to advertise on your website. Your cakes are amazing!... and yet your website basically says, "Here's a cake, buy it" ...essentially.Also, I don't wish to hurt anyone's feelings.....but your cakes are so amazing - they need a top professional cake artist to finish off the finalized product. I saw your examples online and the design and decorations are just not up to modern standards and techniques. Frankly, and this is going to hurt,......but.....the custom designs on your site and decorations look like a kid is doing them....i winced when I looked at them and was actually shocked that such an amazing cake looked like that in the final design. The odd thing is ....the photos on Google reviews that customers posted, show custom design cakes on display that look significantly more appealing than the ones you included on your own website.It would be great to hire someone who is 30 something, is an artist, and has a passion for cake decorating with modern tips and techniques. Cake decorators now are so talented that even the most complicated design wish, from the client, is nothing but a breeze to do nowadays.All the best towards this company for another 100+ years.

Christal Young: I was in town for a conference and these convention centers never have decent dessert options for vegans. I used DoorDash to order a vegan red velvet Elvis to satisfy my sweet tooth and it did not disappoint! For starters, the cupcake was HUGE and I definitely had enough for 2 servings. Plus, it was just a darn good cupcake! The chocolate chips baked inside was such a delightful addition. I have another trip to Indy in another few months and I'm looking forward to another one of these!!

Of course as a specialty shop their baked goods are super expensive ($4.50 for the red velvet cupcake) but they're high quality items. Overall a cute little Indy small business with good variety of cupcake flavors.

I was told I could pick up on Saturday, perfect. However, when i called to checked to see what time they closed on Saturday ( me just arriving back in town from Miami) the man who answered the phone said i couldn't make it in they close at 2pm and that he has as an event he is about to work, and he doesn't open until the following Thursday but may be in Monday to pick it up. Disappointed that if the hours of operations are not convenient, just give me the customer a courtesy call. Now the cake will be old. So much for supporting black business, subpar customer service and operating like a small black business instead of franchising, and expansion. I tried to support. Thank God for my Jewish deli Shapiro's who will turn around a cake in 24 hours and be open conveniently so i can pick it up and enjoy it. We will never be exceptionally great...oh well. Just donated $45, the cake will be old once i am able to get it due to the operating hours. 🎂 Happy birthday, Mom!

gabrielle edwards: I ordered some cupcakes for a birthday party, and if you like a store bought cupcake like Kroger’s or Meijer cupcakes then that’s literally what I believe you are getting. When I walked in the bakery I smelled absolutely nothing, there was maybe 3 or 4 cupcakes in the display case. To be honest I don’t even think it’s a real business. I honestly believe they went to Kroger’s bought some cupcakes placed them in some individual plastic containers and that was it! Nothing tasted fresh nothing tasted homemade and the icing was nasty.

She was always very easy to reach and flexible when we made changes to our order. We asked for a three-tier wedding cake in the following flavors: pink lemonade, marble, and almond with strawberry filling, and we got so many compliments on our cake. We had people going back for seconds and thirds on our wedding cake and people were even getting take-home boxes - by the end of the night it was completely gone, which in my opinion is proof of her great work! The flavors are phenomenal, the cake was moist and in my opinion the best I've had at any wedding. I also ordered a small birthday cake for my friend for the same day in red velvet and it was also delicious and my friend loved it. Alana was very sweet and is very deserving of continued business!
