Madison M: I don’t do much with my hair, I just need a simple trim. On their website listing, Heidi seemed to be a good fit for me. Booking the appointment online was seamless. After first walking into the salon I was greeted pleasantly, told to wait in the area and fill out a paper. The paper had my head tenderness level, if I prefer a talkative experience, and all sorts of preferences. I thought that was a great start- I’ve never experienced that anywhere else & am assuming they do that with all first timers. The salon was clean and smelled great. Heidi was super gentle, laid back, had gentle suggestions for my hair care routine and was all around super pleasant. I could tell she knew exactly what she was doing and it showed during the “unveiling”. I moved to Broad Ripple a year or so ago and struggled to find the right salon at first. Ya know when you go to a salon for the first time and you know before you leave that you’ll never come back? - I had two experiences like that before my first time at Salon 6, so you can imagine how happy I was after my first experience. Today was my second time back and I scheduled my 3rd in the coming months with Heidi. I can’t speak on her coloring experience++ but for someone who wants a simple haircut & a lowkey, non-emotionally draining appointment I definitely suggest Heidi.

Rita Assi: Stephanie Gregoire took care of my damaged hair. I could see the difference right away. I had a haircut and several processes of conditioning and color correction. The salon is nice. The team is accommodating. Online booking is easy and they respond to you very quickly about enquiries. Stephanie is super professional, nice, welcoming and so so good!

She is this cute, petite, delicate looking girl but beware, she can do “mean” things with her scissors. She’s a highly skilled stylist who listens to what you want and consistently delivers. The only person I have had cut my hair since growing it out and he always does a fantastic job. I see his clients before me leaving with gorgeous vivid colors and if I go back to dying he will 100% be the person I have do that as well. Paul is 10/10 the best hair stylist!

WillLakeman: I came in for the haircut with a reference photo which was only looked at for 2 seconds at the beginning of a 45 minute haircut. The haircut I got was nothing like the style or length of the photo at all. The end result did not look bad it was just in no world the haircut I requested. Additionally my appointment had to be pushed back without any reason given.

Dj Buckets: Gone here a few times over the years and felt like there was always something small that was wrong with my hair, cutting it shorter than I communicated or cutting my bangs into parts that shouldnt be part of the bangs.I kept going bc I figured it’s just hair and I like the locality of the salon and they all seemed nice enough. But went in for a hair coloring consultation, never dyed my hair before and I have dark brown hair. They told me it could take anywhere from 4-6 hours for hair coloring bc my hair has never been dyed before. I asked them if that’s how long bleach would sit on my hair and they said yeah the majority of it and it would cost $500+ with their less experienced sytlists. Didn’t seem right so I got a few other professional opinions else where, all of which laughed at what this place told me.Not sure if it was out of ignorance or if they didn’t want my business but either way - no thanks.

Kendra Brown: Hair stylist was polite and took care of me. She was able to do exactly what I wanted with my hair and I loved it and scheduled my next appointment. However, after less than 2 weeks my hair was back to it's natural color. $260 for a color that lasts less than 2 weeks.

Showed up for my appointment today March 23rd after adjusting my work schedule so I could be here and “they don’t have me on the books”. Instead of fixing it and getting me in for my appointment before I leave on vacation in a week, they just say sorry we don’t know what happened but we can’t help you.Additionally they want to keep a credit card on file so they can charge you if you don’t show up to an appointment. Abby Hall: Want to start off by saying my stylist did a great job with my hair, so this is NOT directed towards her.I called a few weeks ago and asked what I should expect to pay for my hair to be done for a formal event: I asked very specifically for curls, a little less than half of my hair pinned back and no wash/blow-dry/cut. The girl on the phone said somewhere around $65. I said great, let’s get me scheduled in.Fast forward a few weeks, I’m finished with my appointment, and I go to pay. They charge me $100. Before tip. My appointment lasted less than 45 minutes, she curled it, and pinned about 20 pieces back. No wash, no blow-drying (this wasn’t expected, but just wanted to reinforce that I had none of this done), and they charged me a hundred freaking dollars?!? This was NOT an updo. The worst part is they told me how much it would be approximately when I called. Had it been over $75, I would HAVE NEVER MADE THE APPOINTMENT. I asked a few of my friends later that night at the event how much they paid for their actual updo’s, and they all paid around 50-60 bucks which INCLUDED getting their hair washed. I thought about coming here to get my hair colored in a few weeks, but forget that now. I don’t like shady business like this and feeling slighted.

Marc Jones: This could be a long review, but I’ll keep it short. The whole cut felt careless. I had come to this salon hoping to make some changes to my normal style, and it felt like the stylist just wanted to do his own thing. I showed lots of pictures and talked through the cut, but he quickly jumped to cutting and took way more off than I wanted. I’m sure I could have explained better, but just a fair warning that you need to be crystal clear what you’re asking for, because there will be no slow down to really clarify. The crown ended up spiked even after talking about the cow lick, sideburn was slanted badly and I had to fix when I got home. Just seemed like he closed his eyes and hoped it would be the haircut I wanted instead of taking time to really confirm we were on the same page. No offer to make it better, just a “come pay me another $30 after the 2 months it’ll take you to grow it out again and I’ll try harder”

My previous stylist closed shop permanently, so my boyfriend and I were both in need of a new stylist and decided to try Jeffrey’s. I have course hair that is somewhere in between straight and curly and it can be hard to find someone who can work with it well, so I am always nervous about going somewhere new. However, Jeffrey did an amazing job! I wanted to add more layers to my hair and he proposed multiple different options of ways that he could do this, along with the benefits of each. He asked questions to fully understand the look that I was going for and gave me several suggestions. He also helped me to pick out the best products to match my hair type, styling routine, and preferences. I ended up with a cut that I love and that perfectly met all of my requirements (e.g. lots of layers, but still able to pull it all back into a ponytail or messy bun). Jeffrey’s is very clean and cozy. It is in a convenient location with easy parking. Everyone there was highly professional and provided great customer service. Most importantly, my boyfriend and I were both very happy with the results of our cuts/styles. We will definitely be going back!

Only a week after I left the salon my hair was literally breaking off and continued to keep breaking off and was frayed unbelievably so I had no choice but to cut it, and cut again and again and still cutting to this day just to cut all the bleached hair off cause it’s too damaged, it’s not worth coming here for your hair to look nice for a couple days then break off.First picture is at the salon, second picture is only a month later.Original review: I got my hair bleached by Amanda and it looks perfect! Super clean and professional salon.

JYokeum: My 1 star rating is not based on any one stylist as they seem to be great but it is based on the manager Allison and the pricing of the salon services as well as their efforts to inform the client of pricing as it is outrageous and just flat out ridiculous. I was charged $240 dollars for a highlight (above shoulder length hair) I had a TRIM on my hair that Allison called a CUT but literally had less cut off than a man gets for a whole cut for very short hair. My ends were literally trimmed off. I kept my length and all. Allison stated it does'nt matter how much is cut off, that it is considered a cut if they touch your hair with scissors and the charge for a cut is $70 but with a highlight it was $35 which still makes my charge for highlights over $200. Mind you my hair is at my ears in front and above my shoulders in the back which is another reason I am floored by the price I paid for the grey highlights I received. They also charged me an extra $20 for "extra highlights" Allison stated when I asked why I was charged so much which I also don't understand, as again, I have short hair and did'nt ask for any extra highlights so why was EXTRA needed? And I was not informed of any extra charge while the service was taking place so why was it even added to the service? If I am paying I want to agree to what services I am getting, dont just add on your own. Allison also stated that's what the stylist charges but then in another statement she stated that's the set charges of the salon. So which one is it? When asked to speak with the stylist Allison stated she would have her call me which never happen and also gave me an option to speak with the owner which also has'nt happen as of yet. I will be waiting to hear from the owner. When speaking with Allison she just really had no compassion for me feeling like I was overcharged for my services at all. She did'nt seem to care one bit. I truly just don't understand how I was charged so much for such short hair and then an extra fee for "extra" highlights that were not asked for and a supposedly "haircut" that was literally a trim and took minutes to do. If you use this salon I would suggest to ask exactly what you are paying for and what you are being charged before anything happens. Eerie Revenant: I asked for a lot of layers, and for my bangs to be blended in as curtain bangs. I also asked for face framing layers, and a trim. I left with my hair looking exactly the same as before; flat, uneven, and blocky. The shortest layers I have are only about 2 or 3 inches shorter than the rest of my hair, and they are not at all noticeable unless I'm wearing a pony tail. My bangs were not blended at all, and the front pieces were still straight across as they were before the haircut. I essentially just got a hair wash and a trim. For $51. I could have done that at home.

Julia Muney Moore: The Mae is a sweet, upscale salon that really caters to making their clients feel amazing. Great range of products (all pretty luxe) and deep lines of those products; however, the stylists do not push product, which I appreciate. Haley specializes in curly hair and WOW, does she do an amazing job--she is very attuned to your individual curl pattern and how you live your life so she can give you the best cut for YOU. They are expanding the salon right now so things are a bit of a mess, but they have really tried to contain it so your experience isn't disrupted. I only stopped in to get a wax but Haley was so sweet! Not sure if she just has the gentlest hands in the world or if y’all have magic wax but it was the least painful eyebrow experience I’ve ever had. It almost felt like nothing even happened. Lizzie B: I was disappointed with my experience here today. I saw Haley for a cut and highlight. She did a nice job with my cut and color. However near the end of my 3 hour appointment, it became clear she was running behind schedule and so she rushed with my cut. I didn’t feel I had time to even check out my cut to make sure I was happy. She actually said she wasn’t going to have time to layer my hair as I had requested because her next appointment was already here so maybe somebody else could do it or I could come back. I’m not sure how that was my fault, but I was made to feel like it was. I was rather taken aback. She did end up quickly putting a few layers in, as I think my reaction to her comment about not being able to finish my hair was pretty clearly not pleased.Then when I was wrung up for $250, I was a little shocked. When I booked online I believe it said $190 or somewhere around there (which is about what it was the prior time I had been here- already felt very pricey but at least was close to what I thought going in). There was no explanation for why it was suddenly $60 more for the same service and no breakdown at all of the costs. Overall, a nice appointment turned pretty bad for me in the last 15 minutes. Haley is incredibly sweet and does a great job with hair. But I was really upset by how the end of my appointment went and the cost.Update: The Mae reached out to me in response to my post and apologized for the issue. Based on this solid customer service, I've revised my rating to a 4 and am considering returning for another shot. I really had been pleased with my cuts and color here prior to this experience.
