Healing Hearts of Indy, Inc: what do users think?
Anne Wegman-Collins: I would encourage anyone to pursue counseling through Healing Hearts. Their counselors are experienced, extremely professional and knowledgeable and have helped my family to navigate through day to day challenges, past issues and unexpected events. They have helped through family conflicts, marriage challenges and guidance through career and parenting. I can’t say enough about how their services have shaped and guided us.
Matthew Frechette: My wife and I started working with Christy Aloiso a few months ago after our marriage was confronted with a regrettable discovery that left both of us emotionally overwhelmed. It's hard to determine which therapist will be a good fit just by reading their bio. It's an overwhelming decision especially when you're already feeling exhausted. That's why I felted compelled to leave a review even though I usually don't bother to share my opinion about a product or service. What I like about Christy is she uses an established process to understand what's important to you in order to build personalized strategies. She's felt like a partner in this process and has helped my wife and I tremendously. My wife likes that she offers a genuine sympathetic ear that demonstrates her sincere compassion. I appreciate her ability to offer guidance that doesn't feel to direct or indirect. She strikes a good balance of involving both people in the conversation by navigating through relevant and irrelevant information.I'm honestly amazed at the progress my wife and I have had in a few short months. We feel closer to each other and are grateful for the second chance to work on our marriage. Christy has been instrumental helping us communicate more effectively and be more vulnerable with one and other.

Family Counseling Associates: what do users think?
Eric Catlow: Complete lack of communication. Unable or unwilling to share records and information required by law.
Maria Mouzakis: This was a horrible experience. My friend met with Marilyn. She was as unprofessional and uncaring as a person can be, let alone a therapist. She had her mind made up about him within the first 5 minutes. He opened up about his substance abuse issues and areas of general anxiety that he wanted to address. While he spoke, she visibly reacted with expressions and murmurs of disgust, disbelief, and disapproval. At one point, she even intimated it was his own fault he was suffering physically and emotionally. While this may be true (as it is for all of us), it's hardly productive or helpful for a therapist to point that out, especially when the person is there to improve! He felt she judged him and found him lacking. During the session, she actually got up to answer her door when the doorbell rang! She flatly refused to offer help, and when he asked if there was another therapist that would be more suited, she flatly said "No." It takes bravery to go to therapy for help, and she humiliated him and left him feeling hopeless. This was not a case of "asking the hard questions and forcing him to look deep within himself at uncomfortable truths." This was open disdain and frankly, plain rudeness. He is still dwelling on his experience with her days later. My friend won't give up his search to find a good therapist, but a lesser person would give up after a session like that and likely engage in the very behaviors that he wants to change in order to cope with such a traumatic experience. Marilyn has chosen her therapeutic approach to reflect apathy rather than empathy. Shame on Marilyn, who needs to remember why she became a therapist in the first place. I am not an expert on therapy, but I am 100% positive that one of the cardinal tenets is not to judge your vulnerable patients and provide a space where they do not feel safe, respected, or heard. I have no hope or illusions that she or anyone at Family Counseling Associates will take any of my comments to heart, but I hope I can spare another person from having an experience like this.

Abram Sinn, LLC, LMFT, Therapist, Individual counselor, Couples counselor: what do users think?
Sabrina Jones: He was incredibly helpful to a friend of mine, and the methods he uses to help are specifically individualized for the person. I have seen positive improvements with my friend during the time they have been seeing Abe.
Jackson Keeley: I've seen Abe for numerous months now and over the course of me seeing him my daily suicidal ideation, nearly constant panic, addiction, and debilitating anxiety and depression, has dramatically decreased. Or rather, when they come about I know have tools and a new perspective to not let the demons take over. I now can function and keep myself going in busy, loud, public places when I feel I'm on the verge of a panic attack. He's taught me to exist through it and learn skills to not let it completely control me. I had a dangerous situation where the police had to be involved recently before I started seeing Abe, but ever since I've seen him I've not had any situations arise anywhere near the extremity of it. I don't know where I would be, if I would be, if I had not been working with Abe. I'm very comfortable in his sessions, which isn't anything I've experienced before with other therapists. He feels like a friend, and he's fun to be around. There's been numerous things I've struggled with all my life that I have never brought up to him, yet he has very quickly discovered them through studying me well and getting to know me. He pointed out what I hadn't mentioned to him and in one session made a huge impact in improving that struggle I've had. Abe remembers everything I've talked about and so many things about me that many other therapists wouldn't have memorized. He cares deeply about his clients. And he does an incredible job at checking up on me. He doesn't just reply to what you say to him with things like, "And how does that make you feel?", and things of the sort, but he adds practical advice and makes it like a conversation that includes lots of understanding of what I'm going through and tangible tools for whatever the current issue is. When starting with him I was weary as a non-religious person due to his personal beliefs, but I've felt 0 judgement or anything of the sort. We even talk about it occasionally and have very interesting conversations. Whether you're religious or not, it won't affect your sessions and relationship with him. I'm grateful for what he has done for me and how he has gone above and beyond. All of my friends and family have noticed and mentioned to me the huge positive changes and growth I've been achieving. And that's thanks to Abe.
