The Alexander: what do users think?
Tristan Rhooms: The hotel was located walking distance to the field house and Lucas oil stadium. The lobby, including the bar and conference room area, were beautiful giving a nicer ambiance to the hotel. Rooms could’ve been maintained a little better. Shower floor seemed to have streaks of cleaning products left behind, tv was a bit outdated for 5 star hotel. The bed and electric blinds were the best part of the room. Additional notes about the stay are that CVS closes too early. If you are staying more than 1 night and okay with a 5 minute walk to get your car, park at the Union Station Garage (You will save $$$).
erica Dillard: The hotel was very nice and let me mention the staff was great from start to finish. My husband and I were only in the city for 3 days but with the service we were provided we will definitely be back for a nice weekend getaway soon. The staff at the Market Table along will make you want to revisit the Alexander in Indianapolis. If you looking for a nice hotel downtown Indy look no more, this is it! The rooms are a little small but next time we will do an upgrade to something a bit larger. Photo ops are all around so take advantage of it. It is a must and I can't wait to return 3Nearby activities: Kilroys and Gainbridge Arena
Blake Poston: This property is stunning. The art alone is amazing. I love this hotel.Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
april darst: The rooms are the classy. With every situation they took care of us treatment of royalty. Very clean rooms, great 5 star room service . Staff trip over themselves to help you. Manger was super friendly plan to come back next time we are in the area.Rooms: Clean and relaxing!Food & drinks: Food service was fast and fancy!
Jonathan Bryant: Rooms were nice but beds were a little stiff. Hotel has nice areas like the lobby, bar, and restaurants. Staff were good just not always helpful. Location is really nice and close to downtown.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Katherine Kramer: I had a very nice two day stay here. With the exception of a lack of hot water one morning the rest of the stay was fine. Parking and the restaurants here were a bit expensive.

Ambassador Dr. Angela J Nealy, PhD: I was there assisting Dr. Alicia E. Mckoy with her keynote. I recorded the keynote, took photos and just listened to an awesome program.Alexander has such an eclectic array of one dimensional to three dimensional art. The service and servers were outstanding.I highly recommend this facility. I shall definitely return.Ambassador Dr. Angela J. Nealy, B.S., M.S., Ph.D.
Cherry: This is a very unique hotel that I would recommend to anyone who likes art and out of the ordinary. You can see many everyday items (some obsolete) turned into art. Be sure to check out the Bird Man and the Madame CJ Walker display. Get a close look or you will overlook important details (like the cleaning person missed the red sauce on the white light switchplate in my room). The birds made from old albums are also a must-see, unless you are an album collector. The rooms are pretty and spacious. I slept well on my king-size firm mattress, but it seems that the hotel needs to spend more on them, particularly insulating for sound. One can hear conversations from the room next to them. If that doesn't bother you, then you will probably have no complaints after staying here. The showers are lovely and there were plenty of towels for one person. The pub is poppin' but I didn't try the food. People just seem to be enjoying themselves and there were many folks in there on a Friday night. The hotel also has a cozy patio for outdoor dining or snuggling. I don't think there was enough space for dancing.I would stay again, but l'd bring disinfecting wipes. One word of caution: You will be charged if you remove the full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, or body wash from your room. This is written on a pricing sheet beside your bed, but you might miss it if you are enchanted with all the breathtaking sites.Thankfully, I read the sign.Go have a great time. This is a stay I will remember fondly for a long time!
NATASCHA FLOYD: This place is amazing! Not just the beauty and ambience of the hotel but the staff is incredibly hospitable and professional, too! We stayed here for my birthday and booked 2 rooms via an internet booking agency but there was an issue showing only 1 room when we arrived. The staff at the Alexander hotel were quick to remedy the situation and I mean QUICK! They booked a 2nd room a the same rate without hesitation. Then there was an issue later with the booking site. They still charged for the 2nd room. Tried to rectify the situation with them but got no where so called the Alexander directly and they took care of the problem right away! Erin and Brady are phenomenal, give them a raise! This was our 2nd stay at The Alexander and we love it every time. We will be back! And we will be booking directly next time! Thanks again, guys! =)

Akira88: Great hotel for business. Professional staff. Rooms are nice and clean. Underground parking. Valet service.Cons: A/C in the room is very noisy. Breakfast at the restaurant was bad. Oats had a weird taste and the pancakes were undercooked. There are many breakfast options walking distance though.
Calvin Beisner: Small, cramped room, fancy shower with too little pressure to rinse hair well, cheap thin single-ply toilet paper I'd expect in a lousy gas station restroom, no microwave. Nowhere near as nice as a typical Holiday Inn Express, Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn, or similar, but about twice the price.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 3/5Hotel highlights Luxury …More
Gabrielle Ferguson: Very clean on the insides, it was great being attached to her convention center! Was able to walk thru the center all the way to Lucas oil stadium without being outside!Rooms: Very CleanNearby activities: Right downtown and easy walking to Lucas Oil Stadium and many restaurants and bars.
Deep Jariwala: Prime location in downtown Indianapolis.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Jason Lye Ph.D: Very very noisy. I hardly slept the first two nights because of guest room doors slamming shut so hard that they made a very loud boom in my room. The walls in my room seemed to shake each time someone on the corridor used their door. In addition, the shower dribbled intermittently, and I was woken up one night by the plumbing gurgling inexplicably. Downstairs there was also some construction (which I'm sure couldn't be helped,) so all in all, a sub-optimal stay.
Marcin: I really enjoyed the new modern style. Not sure when it was remodeled, but the hotel looks great. Just surprised the bathroom had no ventilation at all. Was it just ours? Location is perfect too.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Great value …More
Joe: Loved it
Melissa Illies: The hotel and rooms are absolutely beautiful and area is phenomenal. However for the price you pay per night, you would think they could upgrade the hotel doors to close softly. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. We barely slept all night because of listening to all the doors closing. I won’t ever stay here again because of this.
Joe L: So if you want sleep don't book here. Doors slamming all night are flat out outrageous. The absolute worst hotel I've ever been at that seriously needs door assist asap. Will NEVER stay here again.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Patricia Raynor: Very comfortable and quiet hotel. 4 stars because our room wasn’t the cleanest. Great customer service and great location. The food was decent. We enjoyed our stay overall.
Bernd Green: A bit crouded at breakfast.....restaurant a bit too small for that size hotel. Otherwise a good place to stay.Rooms: Rooms are perfectNearby activities: Most activities and food places in walking distance.

Indianapolis Marriott East: what do users think?
David Oslager: Very clean hotel and everything seems functional. People were very nice checking in. But extremely dated hotel in a very bad need for an upgrade. This hotel should be forced to upgrade or lose its Marriott affiliation. I booked solely on name and location and I regretted it immediately upon pulling into the parking lot. I would not stay again. Note, they seem to have upgraded the lobby and front canopy and that looks great in the pics. That's what I went by. I didn't look at all the pics of the rooms and see how dated the design is. Not worth the price. Oh, and parking is $9!!?? What for? That's just a money grab similar to resort fees. No offer of free parking for Titanium either. They did give $10 F&B credit so it's a wash if you go to the bar/restaurant. But there is no need to charge for parking at this location.Rooms: Very dated and tired.
Jarrod Gerschoffer: This place needs a total overhaul.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 1/5 …More

Shanice Cornner: Very rude people to work for. And heads up on workin here, you dont get paid for all of your hours. I worked 30 hours 1 week and more the next and was only paid for 23 hours and now I'm having a hassle with ms. Brianna Abner about my money in which if i dont get my money on payroll tomorrow, i will be seeking legal action not only against Ms. Abner but the whole Marriot in total for the way I was treated my whole employment there. Oh and definitely do not rent a room there, the linen they have had stains and the stains give bed bug vibes with the color and sizes of the stains, then the rooms give Motel 6 not Marriot, dont expect anything luxury here.
Barbara Scott: One of my top picks to go to!!Rooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Doug Tingle: Attended a convention at this hotel, but stayed at a different one.Location: 4/5 …More
Fred Smith: To sum up this review, this hotel is geared for large events period, we were looking for a nice stay with a pool hot tub, ya no had to be between 50 to a hundred people in the pool area went earlier the next morning thinking beat the rush still like 20 people the hot tub was luke warm and both the pool and the tub were very very cloudy could smell the water and it wasn't chlorine. The hotel also assumes their guests will not be mobile and charged accordingly. Close to nine bucks for a pint of beer only breakfast is a buffet which costs 22, glad the 4 seasons diner is a short walk. If you're traveling and not in a school band or some kind of group booking I would definitely not stay here.I do want to give the staff a mention, there was a mix up on my reservation the lady who booked me in did a great job very professional especially with a line of people waiting she did end up charging me a higher rate but I really think she did the best she could. The manager with the deep voice I'll try and get his name he was just great, friendly, professional got things done made me feel at ease can't say enough about him he fixed everything. Maybe they were short one person but I would definitely suggest having two people at the front desk, maybe one doing paperwork who can step in when needed during check in time. Want to mention the room did not have a microwave beds were very comfortable it was not decorated was adequate. Coffee was good and I like the ease of use for the TV and remote.PS I just went down and got my wife a soda 5 bucks had Pepsi and Dr Pepper lol.
Dino Kitty ,LLC: I just moved back from Miami. Needed a place to relax for a couple days. I usually don’t have great experience at hotels because I travel nonstop for work, they’re too expensive for what you get, etc.I came in with 4 bags, easily 30 lbs more than I weigh. I was greeted with a smile & when I asked about help with my bags, the manager, Jeff said he would help me himself. He made me feel so special, upgraded my room, checked my room to make sure everything was in proper order. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does.I went straight to dinner at the bar where Christina was working. She is so witty & wonderful at her job. Stacey was fantastic also. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend the wings & the salmon was cooked to perfection. The entire front desk staff was so amazing!! From grabbing me toothpaste because I forgot mine, being so cooperative with extending my stay, personable, & ever so polite.I would stay here every time. For every visit.
Ted Burye: I stayed at this Marriott from 25-28 March. The rooms were ok and the area was fine, but the service was very inconsistent and some of the people seemed like they were being difficult on purpose.I was told (by the front desk) I had complimentary breakfast every day with my room. Out of the three mornings I could have breakfast twice I was told by a person at the breakfast (after I told them my room number) that I did not have complimentary breakfast. That person also just seemed really determined not to look into helping me further and had other things to do.One thing about the rooms I wish would be changed is they only gave one bar of soap. There should be at least 2. They also did not have hot water for a shower the last night of my stay, so I had a cold shower.I have stayed at other Marriott locations before and none of these issues happened anywhere else, so I am really disappointed.
Leighsah Lee: My family and I arrived on March 24th around 3:50pm after driving 1,475 miles from Arizona. Right off it was unwelcoming as the desk assistant wasn't pleasant, there was no happy greeting or welcome. He basically just looked at us and checked us in and put us under the impression that breakfast was complimentary. He didn't give us directions to where certain areas were in the Hotel, I had to ask, when I asked when was breakfast served his answer was "yes, breakfast is served 6am to 10am right around the corner" not once did he say that it was not complimentary. Room 504 had no hot water for the first night. Room 537 had black ants (picture and video attached)Next morning - we, 2 of us go down to get breakfast and we're suprised with a receipt. Then I asked at the front if the breakfast was complimentary, until after the fact, I was informed that it wasn't. So I was charged $52.93 for 2 buffets. The individual at the front made a smart remark "it's a restaurant" Yeah, I know it's a restaurant but what I'm asking is if the breakfast was complimentary or not.Saturday night, my children were going to the pool and I stood by the door as I watched them walk to their sisters room in 504. Two security officers walked around the corner stopped them and brought them back saying they were running around when in fact they weren't. There were 2 other kids from another room and family who were falsely accused as well. The security guy, I didn't get his name but he's African American, heavy set and he threatened me and my family saying "If we get another complaint, we're gonna evict you from the hotel". Since then we were walking on egg shells, we did not feel so uncomfortable at any hotel until this one. We all went to the pool and around 9:55 an individual came in and he stared at my children until they got out of the pool all while the anglo teenagers sat in the hot tub until 10pm. Then as we left the pool he followed us to the elevator. He put a fear in my children that they didn't want to do anything else there. Also the elevator was out causing us to use the stairs.I have never experienced this kind of treatment towards us at any other hotel. I felt the racial profiling since we arrived. We do a lot of traveling and stay at many hotels, well just Embassy Suites, Hilton and Hamptons and this would be and the last time we stay at a Marriott. This stay was not worth $1536.16. especially when threats of getting evicted were made on my family.
Dup Scuva: My wife and I experienced a nice and clean hotel. Our check-in process was quick and the front desk person was friendly.Comfortable bed and the shower gell, shampoo, and conditioner were fabulous. One small gripe was the sound of the heat kicking on. It was quite loud; at some point our sleepy bodies tuned it out. Would definitely recommend stay.
Waylon Gross: Great place to host big benefitsNice little bar/restaurantUpdate our stay this time wasn't pleasant and the staff was very rude.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Keith Berry: Always a great place to attend a conference or event.
terrie doty: Service was great, facilities are very dated and in need of upgrades. Everything seemed like it was left over from the 90s. Employees were awesome, even when there was a screw up it was taken care of to our satisfaction. But even the elevator was an issue. Ended up with everyone having to use Service elevator. Marriott needs to invest here.
Daniel Winkels: The hotel service was top notch. Very efficient and friendly check-in process. Room service dining is quick and high quality.Jeff Bobbitt was an exceptional representative for Marriott who made the check-in and stay experience awesome. He took his time to find the best complimentary room upgrade available, followed up with a call to ensure the room was satisfactory, and gave me terrific recommendations for the hotel bar and restaurant (which turned out to be excellent).I’ll be staying there again, without a doubt, next time my travels bring me to Indianapolis.
Jay Lievestro: The front desk staff are very friendly! Jeff at the desk is the best! The gym and pool are nice amenities and always a clean and comfortable room. I've stayed here numerous times and will continue to do so.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Kid-friendly, Great value …More
