crystal shelton: The new beginnings program was not for me. I didn’t feel comfortable with their staff and I felt like they didn’t want to be bothered with helping me. I understand Covid is making things difficult but I truly feel like the new beginnings program was a waste of time. Some of their staff are not at all welcoming & seem like they want you to do certain job fields. The food drive is okay but you do have to check the dates to make sure things are not expired.
SHORDIE LOC: The Indianapolis Urban League discriminates the black community. They do not care about African Americans at all. They're using us like puppets.
Curt Epperly: I received my first Covid-19 vaccination at Indianapolis Urban League, and am scheduled for my second in April. I was very impressed. They made it super easy and were very kind. Thank you, Indianapolis Urban League.❤️
Rita Majors: Credit union inside urban leagues
Ambassador Dr. Angela J Nealy, PhD: Good. Their staff really worked hard to accommodate all of us. It was such a hot day. We all wished there was a tent set up for the entrepreneur 's to sit or stand under. Loved the 360 selfie.Ambassador Dr. Angela J. Nealy, Ph.D.
Becky Sanders: Excellent assistance from lobby staff.
Timothy Caplinger: This is the best place ever when needing some help getting your confidence boosted, job readiness, great training, and pushed in every direction where success is your final destination. Great staff! A big smiling faces as soon as you walk in the front doors.. I recommend Indianapolis Urban League to any and everybody that wants to and is willing to learn the best pre-employment class I ever been part of but don't think it's just a walk in the park... When you commit yourself to this program... Your committing yourself to a life changing program that comes with a lot of hard work. When you put the hard work in to this program.. everything after that is a walk in the park...
C C: Helpful staff, good programs, wonderful educational opportunities.

If you work your plan for Success and develop great relationships the IUL can be a great avenue toward your goals. I highly recommend this organization as being a valuable asset to the Indianapolis Community. 👏 Bravo to the Staff, the Supporter's and to the People who have been Blessed by their many services. It continues to be a joy & a pleasure to engage with them before and through this unpredictable Covid 19 pandemic. From Career training, Covid vaccinations, in-home Covid testing kits to providing food, 🧦 Socks and ⛽ gas cards it has been a Journey. I can't say Thank you enough IUL !!! A lot of Love & Blessed wishes back at ya.- SunShine Smiles
Clayton Crumell: My experience with the Indianapolis Urban League has been, at best, mixed; at the worst, frustrating and maddening. Although there is outrageous inefficiency (one has to complete the SAME application multiple times for any and all services), they (eventually) did help me in rental assistance, but help with finding PROFESSIONAL work THEY DID NOT. Six (6) years ago in 2015, I graduated from grad school and visited IUL for employment assistance. I was told by the head of programs they could help me, but not in the conventional way. Nothing became of that first interaction with IUL, as I attempted to enter the New Beginnings program; the staffer at that time was so rude and unprofessional on the phone, I sent a letter to the president. I received a partially-written response from him, an incomplete letter inviting me back...I decided to leave them alone and try on my own. But, last year (2020), I wanted to give IUL another try. While I was able to get into New Beginnings, the workforce coordinator/coach I was assigned to, didn't follow thru on her own words, having said she would look into some opportunities; I never heard back from her again. But in January of this year, I got an email from the head of programs, stating I was selected to participate in a joint project with a local employer for a possible professional internship (in part because I had education and work experience), and was assigned another coordinator/coach. Late in the project, A WHOLE MONTH preparing to apply for the internship, I was told by the coach that I was NOW INELIGIBLE FOR THE INTERNSHIP BECAUSE I HAD 2 DEGREES!?! The coach NEVER gave an explanation on WHY all of a sudden, after a month in preparing to apply for the internship, I was now ineligible for having education (if that was one of, if not, the reason)... I sent an email to the head of programs who sent out the email, asking for an explanation; she never responded...While the coach stated she was going to help me get a job, she NEVER ASKED me what kind of job I was looking for. Although there were video calls with the employer on what they were looking for, and I did get a 3rd-shift, general labor job with that company, THERE IS NO EVIDENCE that IUL assisted with my gaining employment with said company, as they were already on a mass hiring push anyway (and the coach stopped communicating with me and haven't heard from her since). BEFORE I obtained said job, I needed rental assistance, so I contacted IUL again for help. I was directed to the income and support coach, who showed disorganization, was inconsistent, and displayed his anger when his unprofessionalism was called out (i.e. confused my case with someone else's; didn't tell me all of the steps necessary to apply for assistance; took credit for the internship that I never got nor was allowed to apply for; NEVER contacted my leasing office thru-out the process, causing my application to lapse, etc. At one point, he told me, almost as an afterthought, to contact the financial coach, as it was required. Again, unprofessionalism prevailed when she called me back, providing ABSOLUTELY NO FINANCIAL COACHING WHATSOEVER!). Again, for the record, I emailed the head of programs, about the status of my request for rental assistance; days later, I got a call from her assistant about helping with the IUL food drive (?!), but eventually assisted me with my rent situation, walking me thru step-by-step, WHICH I AM VERY MUCH APPRECIATIVE OF!!! But, in the end, overall, I didn't get ALL and THE SPECIFIC assistance IUL said THEY could've helped me with, and with the unprofessionalism, that made it worse...
Loyshay Boone: Love Mr. Allen and Ms. Veronica Williams and the programs they offer. If you need assistance with employment, please utilize their superb resources.
Rhonda Ayers: Great place to restart life no excuse program they'll help you if you want to get a job and need new skills I learned how to do a resume as soon as I hit send I got a call and a job

Ashley Noneofyourbusiness: They were so nice and everything was free. I even got a $50 Kroger gift card and 3 all day bus passes along with a huge bag of condoms and two travel size hand sanitizers.
Adam Bowman: This place is a god send. They are providing me with some financial assistance as well as a caring community to find emotional support. I hope that they thrive and expand for the benefit of everyone.

James Sheehan: Walked in got what I needed and left...
Cole Proctor: Great atmosphere spectacular food and attentive staff
Steven Chaffee: Great Staff . Friendly, and they have been working for me a short time and have helped me out.
Mike Knerr: The BEST ASO in Indiana, hands-down. Many former Damien Center clients have switched to Step-Up and are wise to do so. Damien Center unfortunately only exists as a facade for its upper management to glorify themselves and the actual services they provide and clients they purport to help are all tertiary to their tending to their own egos.
Jason Byrne: Excellent resources for people with mental health and addiction issues
Anthony Smith: In this situation the staff may my failing to plan in agency emergency they did everything they needed to do to make sure that I got what I needed to get forever grateful
Ervin Gainer: Always a great experience. The staff members are nice and friendly. Love them!
Clinton Tucker: Nice apartment with good parking
Andre Hardrick: Quick and friendly
Robert Kilpatrick: Wonderful place to get tested for HIV and other STD's I recommend this place to all people go and know your status and be educated
Sylvia Thomas: Great place to work and dedicated team.
Dean Black: Great client services, friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, understanding and very resourceful.
Kelly Howell: Needs improvement
Antonio Dabney: Gina
Trampa Brian: This is a place of resources and care coordinations. They strive to make peoples lives in our community better... These people have an understanding of what folks go through in their day to day, and are there to pickup and help with the things when we fall short, or need help in answering prayers... They have access to government funding as well as a knowledge of other accesses to funding, housing, health benefits as well as clothing and food... If you are at a point of need, genuine need in your life, this could be the group you need to seek advice from... Truly worth the 5minutes of your busy life, to see what they have to offer

Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence: what do users think?
Amanda Vaughn: This place made a bunch of promises to help me and didnt follow thru with one of them. It's honestly a joke.
Courtney Webber: They have so many Resourses for DV victims. It's so amazing!
Jonee Adams: I am a domestic violence victim that was severely beaten causing serious bodily injury. This place does not help with absolutely anything. They make u call different advocates to try to get emergency assistance when they already have the victim on the phone with court and police records. I haven't received one ounce of help from this place. This place needs to be defunded and further investigated in to the finances that are meant for victims are allocated. I will be contacting the Mayor and the news to dig further to see why I have yet to be helped from this place.
Mchaelever Tunstill: Last i was there the guy was Retired Marine gave good advice help me in my pass and still helps me in my present thank you
TWG Engineering: Good people doing good work
Zee: Good work is being done here!
