Neidhammer Weddings & Events: what do users think?
Erin Linscott: Absolutely beautiful space. Very little decorations are needed since it has its own vibe. We were able to bring in our own food and photographers. The employees are easy to work with and quick to respond. They get the venue looking perfectly and helped with cleaning trash off tables during the reception. Highly recommend using their in house DJ. He made it so easy to have the perfect music and times it perfectly. They do an amazing job making sure that your day is exactly how you want it. Highly recommend.
Kaylee Evans: BEAUTIFUL space to hold a wedding, and the staff were wonderful to work with. It was a bit pricier than some of the other venues we looked at, but you truly get what you pay for at the Neidhammer. We are so pleased with how smoothly our day went, in large part thanks to the Neidhammer staff. Great communication leading up to the event and on the day of!
Susan Everett: We held a casual rehearsal dinner on the first floor and were so pleased that we'd made that decision. The staff were great to work with, particularly Annie, who responded cheerfully to every need. Our guests loved the venue, and we heard many remarks about how great the space was. (It was even prettier once the sun went down.) Highly recommend!
Westin Williamson: Great venue! Rough part of town.
Emily F: A decent venue for small events. Tight quarters, and updated infrastructure.
Adam OHaver: I cannot say enough great things about this venue and the staff. Everything was just so easy and organized from the start, even during COVID and having to reschedule our wedding date 3 different times! John, Elli, and Jess were super accommodating and understanding, and truly made our special day and overall experience absolutely incredible. As an engaged couple, do yourself a favor and visit the Neidhammer. This place is truly one of a kind and full of such wonderful people.
Emily W: I would recommend The Neidhammer as a wedding venue a million times over. John and Elli were nothing short of amazing, and they truly cared to make our day individualized and personal. Everything ran so smoothly, and they made us feel like we were the only wedding they were putting together. We had MULTIPLE guests tell us it was the most beautiful wedding they’ve ever been to. (The fact that their coffee is DELICIOUS also doesn’t hurt anything!!)
Nancy Nash: Neidhammer gave our daughter everything she wanted for her wedding! Our family couldn’t come up with one improvement we would have made. Ellie and Alyssa made the day progress seamlessly, and the Juniper Spoon Catering- wow! Outstanding! From the first day we met with John until the moment we left the wedding, the staff was attentive, communication was great, and all the needs of the bride and groom were met. What a beautiful venue and unforgettable experience! Thank you to all at Neidhammer!
Em: There are not enough great things to say about John. He is the only vendor we met with that spent over an hour with us addressing every question or concern we had, and giving us a complete tour of the space. He even took a weekend to show my mom and future MIL around the space. You can tell he honestly wants the best for you & your wedding, and isn’t just pushing The Neidhammer. 100% recommend!!
Paige Williams: We loved having our wedding at the Neidhammer. We were supposed to get married in June but due to COVID we rescheduled for August. The staff is so kind and friendly and really try to do everything they can to make your wedding special for you. The email communication with the staff was prompt, which is one of the most important parts of wedding planning to me. The space is BEAUTIFUL and really wows you and your guests. The Neidhammer holds a special place in our heart and we will reminisce on our wedding day there for the rest of our days. Great venue, great staff and really just a wonderful atmosphere and place to get married!
Paul Williams: This place was so cool. Reading about its history and all the love that has been put into it while still retaining all of its charm really makes this an excellent event place
Amanda B: Eh gentrified place to hold $10,000 weddings while people beg for change and scrounge for basic needs right next door at the gas station and the surrounding neighborhood. Pretentious and unaffordable for anyone actually from this neighborhood, both the coffeeshop and the venue.
Just Sherri: Great space with good service. The location is beautiful and can be made to fit your needs. I didn't have a wedding at the venue, but I attended one. One of the best weddings I've been to =).
Jonisha Perry: After searching for a venue both my husband and I would love for our wedding, Neidhammer was the ONLY venue we both fell in love with immediately! As soon as we walked in for our initial meeting with Elli, we knew we had to have our wedding here. From the very beginning Elli was responsive, supportive, and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed and were on track to have the best wedding possible. When we discussed our budget, it was well received and their pricing is affordable without feeling like you are being short-changed on an absolutely incredibly beautiful wedding venue. Neidhammer itself has so much life and character, the exterior and interior of the building are beautiful, well managed, and our wedding photos (and of course, wedding day!) turned out better than we could have imagined. The staff is absolutely incredible, from Elli to John, to the bar staff - everyone is personable and right there for you to assist with questions or just to lend a hand! John is amazing and is so hands on when it comes to making sure you'll have sound and video ready to go - we ended up having to add live streaming to our package and John and Elli made this addition seamless. Our family and friends LOVED Neidhammer and it was so great to hear their responses about how much they loved Neidhammer! My mom went on the walk through with us and she fell in love with the life and character of Neidhammer right away just as Rene (my husband) and I did! If you're looking to have a wedding that will take you and your guests breath away with beauty, character, and a timeless look - go with Neidhammer, seriously. You will NOT be disappointed!Photos by: Those McKissics Photography
Madison Combs: We had our brunch reception at the Neidhammer and it was lovely. The staff was super accommodating and very helpful, especially since our event was held during increased COVID mandates. The venue is so unique and makes for amazing pictures. They have a great bar and amazing bartenders. The stage is also perfect for having live music. If you’re looking for something different this is it!
Glenn Dobbs: Bard Fest is Indy's only largest Shakespeare Festival. For the last several years the Neidhammer has generously supported our programs with beautiful rehearsal spaces and live shows. The staff at the Neidhammer supported the Arts in a way few other have and we have enjoyed our relationship with them. Their facility is beautiful and I wish we could do our entire festival at the location!
Courtney Policka: The Neidhammer was the perfect place for our wedding. My husband and I got married here last September and everything was perfect. We couldn’t have picked a more unique venue. The Neidhammer truly cares about you and making your wedding day special.
Kath S: My husband and I got married in September 2020 (little late to this!). We were very torn between eloping and having a real wedding... until we found our venue! Neither of us could deny falling in love with the building, the atmosphere, and truly the staff. The staff of the Neidhammer was constantly keeping up with the COVID changes and ensuring their couples were just as updated. All along the way, they were finding ways to maximize our experience and ensure we still had the wedding of our dreams. We were thrilled that we were able to bring our own vendors but ultimately went with a few of their preferred with great success. Their bar options were endless and their cocktails gave it a unique touch. They even brought out the slushie machine which was a huge hit.If we could do it all over again, we would without a single change. We have much gratitude to the Neidhammer family for a day we will never forget.
nataloo390: With abundance of Indianapolis wedding venues, it can be overwhelming to decide where to have your special day. Thankfully, the Neidhammer made it an easy decision for us. This venue was our first and only stop, as we immediately knew it was the perfect place for us and did not need to look any further. The building itself is a convenient all in one space for getting ready, ceremony and reception. The bridal suite is perfect! We had our ceremony on the third floor, cocktail hour on the second while they flipped the room and promptly moved everyone back up to the third floor for dinner and dancing. We also utilized the first floor coffee shop during cocktail hour which was a neat touch. The Neidhammer is a gorgeous venue all on its own, minimal decor needed, if any.The venue allows you to bring in outside vendors for everything except the bar package. We do recommend hiring the Neidhammer exclusive DJ, John (also Neidhammer manager) He rocked it and kept the energy flowing all evening!John, Elli, Jess, Dani and the Neidhammer staff were very kind. They were always responsive and willing to answer any questions along the planning process. They executed our day seamlessly, making it a joyful and stress free day we will remember forever! - Natalie & Dave
Lydia Arney: My wife and I could not have had a better experience with our wedding at Neidhammer. We all know the entire Neidhammer space is perfectly, gorgeously, unique. (I got so many compliments from guests about how beautiful and cool the space was.) But what you don't know is how fantastic the Neidhammer staff is. I was helped with kindness every step of the way by Elli and John. (You will love them.) And the day of the wedding their entire team worked so well together to keep the venue space running smoothly behind the scenes. Very thankful for Neidhammer and their team to make our wedding the best day ever.
Melissa Young: There are not enough good things I can say about the team at Neidhammer, I would probably surpass any character limit but I will do my best to summarize our experience from the beginning to the end of our special day! From the moment we started to consider Neidhammer as our wedding venue, John set up a tour so my husband and I could see everything their venue had to offer. It was easy to tell from that moment that he was committed to doing everything he could to meet/exceed all of our expectations for our wedding. After we made the decision to move forward with the Neidhammer, we had several calls with the team to discuss logistics for the day with our venue coordinator. Cassidy was GREAT, a pleasure to work with, and went above and beyond to make our wedding special. Our families had nothing but kind words to say about Cassidy and the entire Neidhammer team. The absolute best part was the bar. Do not be intimidated by the fact that they only serve wine based cocktails. Everyone loved the Frozen Margaritas and Peach Bellini’s we served and couldn’t even tell they weren’t made with liquor. The bartender was incredible and even helped us coordinate a conga line with shots to get the party started! All in all, I cannot recommend the Neidhammer enough, they are worth every dime and then some.

The Sanctuary on Penn: what do users think?
Ryann B: I had the opportunity of photographing a wedding at The Sanctuary on Penn and I can't say enough positive things about my experience there. The staff that helped with the day were very personable and thorough. They turned the ceremony location around very quickly into the reception and it looked great! The whole vibe of the building is so beautiful and provides different spaces throughout to take portraits. I would recommend this space to any future brides!Side note: parking is a little scarce, but doable. I just paid a small fee to be conveniently next to the building. They have a small lot that can be used, it just happened to be full when I arrived.
Joshua Reyes: My husband and I cannot say enough positive things about The Sanctuary on Penn. When we were looking for an LGBT friendly venue in central Indiana, this place caught our eyes, and we could not be happier. The space is gorgeous with unique features that make it stand out among other wedding venues in Indy. The team is awesome, responsive, and very attentive to the needs and wants of the couples. The in-house contractors (DJ Don Masters, Heavenly Sweets, Sterling Expressions, and Post Road English Gardens) all hit it out of the park with their services. The full-service nature of the venue takes so much stress away from planning the wedding. Thank you Sanctuary for giving us a magical night that we will remember the rest of our lives!
Taylor Marie: Was maid of honor for a wedding here. Incredible staff, beautiful venue! Highly recommend for any weddings or special events! Jade went above and beyond to make the day everything the couple wanted! Thank you!!!
Kerry Edwards: We got married at The Sanctuary on Penn exactly a month ago from today and wish we could do it all over again! It was such a beautiful and special venue and we’ve gotten many compliments from our wedding guests on how much they loved our wedding. It feels like something straight out of Italy in the main room. We really appreciated Evan’s help all along the way with organizing meetings and answering all of our questions over emails and phone calls in between meetings. One of the best and most special parts of our wedding day The Sanctuary coordinated was the private moment after the ceremony, when they set up a table with champagne, cheese and fruit, and we got to savor the moment with just the two of us after just having gotten married in front of a whole room packed with people we love. We also really loved the grand exits they do, from the ceremony and also at the end of the night on the way out to our limo.Their decorations closet was very useful and though we brought a lot of our own decorations in, we saved a lot of money too by using their lanterns for our aisle. It was also so useful that they allowed us to pick up some items after the honeymoon, instead of some venues that rush you into collecting everything at the end of the wedding night. The whole day was so special and magical, and The Sanctuary really felt like a world of our own for the day. We highly recommend it!
Mike Sipniewski: Nice place with good food. In need of another men's room or at least expand the one downstairs.
Tuan Nguyen: The lay out is not great. Bathrooms are located bottom floor and the rounded stair case is shared with the staffs.
Tenley Orr: We got married at the Sanctuary, and the entire experience was positively lovely. The staff was very professional and accommodating. They kept the planning process and the day of easy going and fun. Evan and Jade are really wonderful to work with. We went with the in-house photographer, Mariah, and the DJ, Don. Both of these vendors were a great call. They work with the venue seamlessly. The food was fantastic. I highly recommend this venue, no matter what the event may be.
Megan Fonde: From the moment we walked into the Sanctuary, we knew we had found our wedding venue. The space is absolutely stunning, beautifully decorated, clean and well-maintained, with thoughtful touches all over and fun surprises around every corner. From there, our experience just kept getting better. We met Evan and his staff, and they immediately felt like old friends. We cannot say enough about how amazing they were during the entire process. They are so kind, creative, thoughtful, organized- they are magic. They let us handle the fun parts of planning, and they took care of everything else. All of our family and friends could not believe how stress-free and fun the planning, menu tasting, rehearsal, and wedding day all were. Evan and his staff made everything feel special. We spent the entire day at the Sanctuary the day of the wedding. It was so nice to be able to do everything in one place. No running around town, no rushing, no stress. We decorated, we got ready, we hung out, we ate, we took photos, and then we went right into getting married! And ohhhhh, the photos! There are so many beautiful, unique, charming, and romantic places in and around the building for wedding photos! We went with the house photographer Mariah, and she was fantastic! She knows the space inside and out, she’s such a nice person, she has great ideas, and her photos are beautiful. We also went with the house DJ, Don Masters, and he was awesome. This guy knows so much about all different kinds of music! He was really fun to talk to, he was super helpful with planning everything involving music, speeches, etc., and he’s a really great emcee- he knows how to read a crowd, and he kept us all on schedule post-ceremony.Let’s talk about the food!! The chef is incredible. This is not typical wedding food. This is a talented artist sharing her craft. This was really important for us. We both LOVE food- as culture, as art, and as a basic human right. We really, REALLY wanted to be able to treat all of our guests to a delicious, top-notch meal, and the staff at the Sanctuary made that happen. The passed appetizers and the main meal were absolutely amazing. They have so many great options, and they are super accommodating when it comes to special requests, dietary restrictions, kids’ meals, etc. PLUS they donate any food that gets left, so you can start the next chapter of your life by making a difference for others. They really do think of everything! The day of the wedding, Evan and Jade made sure we were happy all day, and at the end of the night, we said our goodbyes, and they reassured us we did not have to worry about cleaning up or taking all of our stuff with us- we could pick it up whenever. What a gift that was! The last thing you and your wedding party will want to do at the end of such a long day is stay late to clean up. And since Evan and Jade honestly care about their couples and want them to have the best day of their lives, they take care of all that for you! And they don’t even charge you extra for it!Which brings us to our final point. The price. It is shocking how affordable this wedding was. We looked at many other venues, and every single one was at least twice the price and less than half the value. Do yourself a favor, and have your wedding at the Sanctuary. You won’t regret it!
muckermaffick.dm .gmail.com: Beauty and history in one place, great venue
Aden Kouveras: Beautiful interior
Thomas Tucker: the sanctuary was easily one of the top best venues I've had the pleasure of working with in the two years that I've been DJing! Evan is a beast that man is truly an unsung hero, and Jade would be the Batman to Evans Superman! These two were so clutch! The Sanctuary was a beautiful, and Historic Beauty! At first I was Impressed with the architecture, Then by the use of space, then by the staff, this place easily blew away any other experience I've had at a venue
missy rust: Just trying to find out information to secure an event date has been atrocious. They won't give any info without showing up to a meeting. When you live out-of-state this is nearly impossible. Tried to set up meeting multiple times with no luck. Making a last minute trip to Indy tomorrow and called to give it one more try. Guy hung up on me. Kind of crazy to think this would be the start of a wedding experience. Apparently they have so much business they don't care to be hospitable at all.
Marissa Gagnon: If you are considering booking Sanctuary on Penn for your wedding, my advice to you is DO IT!We booked this venue back in January 2019 and our original wedding date was 10.10.2020. Of course, then the pandemic happened. We are so lucky that we chose a venue that was incredibly flexible and understanding throughout moving our date not once, but twice. They never charged us additional deposits and were so good to us.We finally got to have our big day on 11.20.2021. I cannot say enough good things about Evan and Swails. We exchanged countless emails, had several calls/meetings, had multiple requests to update our dream sheet, and each time they were professional, responsive, and flexible. During our rehearsal and wedding, Evan was attentive and helpful from beginning to end. The fact that this venue came with such an amazing GM/Day of Coordinator made all of the difference.Yes, the space is absolutely stunning but the staff are really the ones that make your day run smoothly and bring it to life.Helpful tips:-Book Don Masters through the venue as your DJ.-Book Tammy Barillas to do your makeup.-Do the room flip if you want to have your ceremony and reception here (they have it down to a science).-The dream sheet and to do list Evan provides will be your best friend.Venue Cons:-The stairs can be dangerous, especially for older folks. Make sure they know a restroom is available on the first floor ahead of time. My husband's grandmother tripped and fell near the stage during the reception (she is okay), but just be aware that this could be an issue for older guests or drunk people.
Gayle Pearl: Wonderful wedding/reception venue.
Liz Lindauer: Handicapped entrance worse than horrible
Nichelle Thomas: Beautiful place and the best staff
Clay House Photography: Positive:Professionalism,QualityLoved working at Sanctuary on Penn for one of our client's wedding recently. My favorite place for pictures was in front of the ivy wall. So pretty! The day ran smoothly and the couple was thrilled with how the day turned out.
Mika Liechti-Hawkins: As a wedding photographer, I love an older building with a gorgeous interior. The Sanctuary on Penn was exactly that! The staff was very helpful and answered any questions I had. The resident DJ was awesome and kept the guests + bridal party engaged which made for amazing photos. The basement is also super spacious and a great place to hang out before the ceremony. The two rooms for the bride and groom to get ready in was a bit tiny. If you have a big wedding party, keep that in mind. Great experience at this venue!
Lauren Reinking: Our wedding day was truly the greatest day of our lives. Evan worked his butt off to make sure everything went smoothly! He also had amazing communication between all of our vendors and the day could not have gone better! We had such an amazing time. The food was incredible, the decor was spot on, the changing of the room during cocktail hour went over without issues, and the whole day was incredible thanks to Evan, Tiffany (the chef) and the rest of the staff. I also was told by many, many of my guests that the bartenders were so fun and really great to work with! Thanks to the Sanctuary's team of people! We had the best wedding we could've ever dreamed of.
Beth Brandon: We had our wedding here in October of 2020. Early pandemic was a crazy stressful time to plan a wedding- but the team at Sanctuary on Penn took a lot of the stress off our shoulders! They were super accommodating and plans had to change and adjust. We loved the menu of options for how 'all inclusive' we wanted. We were still able to use our photographer which was very important to us. However, I loved not having to vet a DJ. We could trust their vendors thanks to the experience they have! My favorite (well one of) part- that the team set up and tore down so we didn't have to haul family out early the next day. Worth every penny! Every wedding I have been to since I can't help but think about how perfect our day was- stress free and full of fun- thanks to Sanctuary on Penn!
Mischell Johnson: Lovely wedding

Waterman's Family Farm: what do users think?
Tommy Hammel: Awesome place to go
Ben Voils: Great place!
tracy means: I bought 4 adult tickets and 1 child for December 22nd and they closed due to weather. I understand no one cancontrol the weather but I’d like my money back.
jill capehart: We took our 3 Grandkids tonight! It was so much fun 😊
Jesse Rush: We have been coming here for years, and it's just been going downhill. $15 a piece to get in, but they can't even buy some new footballs. The corn maze was more of a burr maze, and the kids' excavator toy was broken. My son was disappointed and sadly we won't be back. There are many other options with way more things to do that don't cost extra money after paying to get in.
Travis Bridgewater: It's all outdoors! Check the weather. Nice little mini fair but cold when we went. There is no drive thru lights! You walk around this place. We didn't see any free hot chocolate. They didn't charge us for the slide. Probably a neat place on a warmer day. I see other reviews that poorly reflect this place. The 'creepy christmas' wasn't that creepy so I'm not sure why they wrote a negative review. It even says 'creepy christmas'. If you think your kid will get scared, move to the next attraction. Hot cider and got chocolate was 4 bucks.
sharmeka pope: Always a pleasure!
Dr. Diva: We had a great time and the kids had a ball!
Amber Custis: Nothing was what they had advertised online. Only characters walking around was oloff and Tigger, the lights out definitely are not Indianas largest like they say, It's literally just a few tree lights, a couple of tunnel lights and then string lights. Half the rides weren't open, and 1 of them was broken with no seat belts but they were still running it, saying only adults could sit on the broken part. The grinch cave was a semi trailer, you couldn't take your own photos of the grinch, Santa or Jack. Very poorly ran, no one knew what to do or where to go, the staff was not helpful and ran mainly by teenagers who didn't have a clue what was going on. Do not waste your time or money on the winter event, it was pathetic. Very disappointing to my kids and our family. Not safe, and I never did see a bathroom anywhere.
Doran Langley: Tickets to Winter Wonderland. Was told the only thing that cost extra was to ride the slide an concessions of course. Go through lines to take photos with Santa, Krampus, Elsa, etc. We're told that we can't take our own photos, I thought that was weird, but they said the photos will be available online, I asked "For free?" They said yes. Turns out, not for free at all, they're charging 15 a photo. Way to nickel and dime your supporters.
Sarah Royalty: Cost way too much and has way too many people at once
S B: Not worth it...It use to be so much better. I won't be coming back
Brittany Folkman: My family and I go here multiple times a year. We loved it. Unfortunately this last time they double charged me. When I reached out they told me someone would “call me back in a few days.” It’s been weeks and I’ve called and facebook messaged them and no response. It’s not really about the money. Such a let down, especially with how things are currently.
Jennifer Faucett: Tons of activities for all. The staff was great with the children. The entrance fee was more than worth it. Will return next year 🧡🎃
Anfornys homemade love And great recipes: Great experience
Aaron Reed: Directions for the checkouts are not well marked and you could be waiting in the wrong line for a while, while getting goards.
Billie McHugh: Always a family favorite and tradition every year.
Jack Bryant: My grand daughters love this place.
Victoria Coulombe: They have lots to do but it does get expensive for a family very quickly. We still had fun and some of the best fried rice ever. The staff was all friendly and respectful. One of the vendors has ponies the kids can ride. As great as that is and my kids really enjoyed it, those poor animals were so tired. The man running the "ride" was extremely rude saying he wished people would learn to listen he was just going to start throwing them out. I never seen him give the ponies a break the whole time we were there. He wouldn't even let them stop to put the kids on or take them off. I truly feel that one man in no way represents the company as a whole however, he definitely isn't a good person to have running the ponies or interacting with customers in my opinion.
Kimberly: The admission price is a lot less than other places. I did get tired of so many things costing extra (pony ride, baby animal petting, animal feeding, etc.). Even though I didn't spring for anything extra, my kiddos found plenty to do to keep themselves busy. The speaker on the hayride was very nice and friendly. It's fun to watch the dinosaur eat pumpkins.
Miracle Dismuke: I went with my significant other and we enjoyed ourselves. There where lots of kids, but some couples too. I wish I could have rode a horse but the weight limit was 90lbs. There was a farm animal petting zoom, corn maze, feeding station, walk-in bird cage and more. The food options where limited, but I got pork on a stick, which wasn't bad.
