Kevin was our salesperson and did an outstanding job educating us on gas inserts and helping us pick the best choice for our home. Shaun came out and measured to make sure we ordered the right size unit. He was very helpful with questions we had about the install. We put in the order on January 18th and had the unit installed February 11th. Jerry and Dave came out to do the install and they were great! They were super conscious about keeping our house clean and dry. (We'd just had a snow.) These guys know what they are doing! They were very efficient workers. From the beginning to the end, we are incredibly pleased with the process and everyone who works at Godby Hearth and Home!

Our first visit was rescheduled because the technician had an elevated temperature and did not want to expose us to possible virus issues.When our fireplace was serviced the technician was very thorough in explaining how to use the fireplace, take the glass and screen in and out, turn the flame up. He made us feel safe in using the fireplace (new home to us). He cleaned up well. We are very happy with the service we received.

Two that I was unsure of how to operate and one that was on the fritz. When I called and spoke to Kim she knew just about everything there is to know about the fireplaces in my home and made me feel 100% confident that my issues will be solved upon Steves departure. She was very pleasant to speak with. They were booked about a month out, which is expected in this area for good service. Steve called 10m before arrival and when he got here swiped through each unit with a pros touch. He's a dog guy and was very sweet to my two toddlers. He repaired fritz, talked me through the one I didn't know how to operate, and converted a gas to wood burning in just over and hour. Service doesn't get much better than this. Thank you very much Steve and Kim!

Christopher Manning: They removed a gas log set from a family member's house and replaced it with a sealed unit. I called to have them connect and install the logs taken from their house into ours. They scheduled an install 4 weeks out, which was a long time but no big deal. I checked in with them 10 days later to confirm and they decided they did not want to install the used logs. So I wasted 10 days waiting for them and likely would have never heard from them had I not been the one to initiate contact.
Mark Stevens: SERVICE BEFORE PROFIT - I contacted Scully Fireplace Repair about an odor of gas coming from my insert fireplace. I talked to Kim Scully to setup a service appointment. Before setting up the appointment she walked me through a self diagnostic to determine if I could resolve the problem myself and avoid the cost an unnecessary service call. Following her instructions I was able to easily solve the problem myself. Kudos for placing service before short-term profit. Most others would have just scheduled the appointment, charged for the service to fix a basic user error or worse, and moved on. This says a lot about the character of this business. I will for sure call them if I need any future service!

Amy Taylor (Allknight1): The lady that answers the phone (one of the owners) is always nice and polite however, i think that she does not understand customer service very well. I manage a rental property management service in Central Indiana where most of our homes have fireplaces and need service every once in a while. Steve Scully has taken care of me on 2 other occasions and did a fine job. Steve is in great demand as there are virtually no other persons in the area that service fireplace units that i can find. My issue is that when i told the lady that the tenant might be paying for the repair, she said she would have to ask her husband (Steve) about it. I say "ask about what"? I said "Are you saying that you might not service our fireplace if the tenant is going to pay for it"? Her response was that a tenant of another management company paid with a check and it bounced. Once again i asked "what does that have to do with my tenant or me"? She said that they had a hard time chasing down the tenant for payment and eventually got paid by the management company. First of all, who said the tenant was going to pay her by check? My tenant is middle class with very good credit and plenty of income. I told her that this was unreasonable and she told me that with my attitude, they could not do business with me and i should find another company. What a shame that she sits in her office or at home answering the phone and assumes the worst of the callers. If they have a problem with checks, then do credit card payments like everyone else in the 21st century. If she would like to call back and apologize (not going to happen), I would consider a revised review and doing business with them. If yo see no further review update, you can assume that she values her pride more than her customers.

andrew todd: So I didn’t actually have service performed by this company because I am out of their service area, but I would gladly pay more to deal with great people like Kim and Steve. Kim was extremely knowledgeable about our fireplace and directed me to the answers I needed. Steve followed through I’m assuming after hours with an email that had our fireplace owner manual attached to show us we didn’t need to fix part of our fireplace. (I had no idea fireplaces had owners manuals!) He also directed us to another company that was able to save us even more money. Do yourself a favor and make the call to Kim and Steve.

Pam Sampson: We were looking for someone who could “hold our hand” through the process of transforming our 45 yr old stone gas log fireplace to a direct vent insert. Initially, we were going to have them do all the work except for demolition but after several design changes, we chose to do most of the reno ourselves. He replace ceramic logs in a gas fire place that had fallen out of place after looking up the designed placement in a manual online. He assessed another fireplace for an updated gas fireplace and suggested the size and type. I picked out the log style and await the timing for the installation. The technician was very knowldegeable and amicable.The new unit was installed a few weeks later and the technicians were careful to keep the home clean, remove unwanted old fireplace parts, and demonstrate the operation of the new system.

Gwen Rapp: Jake, the Clean Sweep 317, did more than listed. He did a thorough analysis of the chimney to see if putting a new log insert was feasible. We have since worked with him about a new chimney cover and the work that it will entail. Jake is very consumer-oriented, friendly, efficient and a great asset to your company. Because of Jake, we aren't pursuing any other company to make comparisons. We feel comfortable with our new contract.Later: More work had to be done on our chimney than anticipated.. We had rotting all the way to the ground which was found as the workers were removing the outer coverings. This company went over and beyond our expectations. The workers were ethical and worked very hard, beyond hours expected, to make sure we had this chimney rebuilt correctly. We were kept informed of their work as it progressed. We would recommend this company to anyone in need of chimney repairs or their other services. Allen Benson: I give two stars because we really do enjoy the final product — a new gas log assembly in our fireplace. So that’s good.However… It was installed two months after the originally estimated install date, due to numerous errors on the part of O’Malia’s. First, they confused our order with the customers that were there before us. When the order came in stock, they scheduled an install date for weeks later. Then when the gentleman came to install, he found he had the wrong size. (Yes, he had the size of the order from the customers that ordered right before us!) All because our last names were “similar”. (We know because the name is wrong on our original invoice that we have.)So, of course, they had to reorder and wait on THAT to ship. We were notified that it had arrived at the store, and that they would expedite the installation. Only problem, “expedite” to O’Malia’s apparently means “wait another two weeks, regardless of our screwups.”The installer did a great job… he really is good at his job. We honestly are very happy with the fireplace.So then, we call to pay the balance on the order. I didn’t have the original invoice in hand, I paid whatever he said we owed.Then my wife said “Wait, that’s $300 more than what’s on our invoice!”So I call back. I get “oh, did we install it? Oh well, that’s $300 extra that wasn’t on your invoice.After all the mixups, screwups, reorders, and delays… let’s make sure we don’t cut the customer a break and say something like “hey, the installation’s on us”! No, no… that might be good customer service, and we can’t have that!

blake wetzel: I recently bought an outdoor fire table from another retailer in Indy. That retailer sold me a fire table and did not provide the requisite natural gas conversion kit and charged me $100 for installation (which only to drop off the table, NOT install it). When I asked how they're going to connect it to the gas line I had plumbed, they told me that's not their problem and couldn't recommend anyone to install it. Even the gas plumber that ran the line didn't want to install it! They BOTH mentioned to call O'Malia's. I called numerous companies for weeks on end, with nothing but runarounds, half answers, and long waits for someone to come look at it.I was hesitant to call O'Malia's because I didn't buy it from them and was sure of the forthcoming answer of 'No.' Steve responded to my cry for help with calling the manufacturer directly, working through supply chain issues with the conversion kit and other parts, and had his guys pick up my table and work through a solution. They returned my table THE VERY NEXT DAY. They were great to work with, very nice people as well.All I can say is that we're amazed service like that still exists in this day and age and that O'Malia's now has a customer for life.THANK YOU!!

I highly recommend O'Mailia's if you are looking for a gas log setup. A good reason to not shop at the big box or chain hardware stores, they would not take time to help even if they knew how.

They were quick to redirect me to a couple of contractor's that could inspect and fix, if necessary to do so! They didn't try to oversell other fireplaces or items not needed. Andrea Perez-Phillips: My husband bought a new log set on Amazon only to realize that it wouldn't work with the burner we had for our fireplace. So he searched online and stumbled upon O'malia's Living and chatted with David who advised him to purchase the correct needed burner and set it aside for pick up. Once we were in the store, Nathan walked us through all the steps. Nathan was incredibly helpful and generous. We will gladly do business with these guys again. Their friendliness was refreshing. By the way, the finished product looks awesome!! Wife approved 😊

The tech spent most of the time criticizing my equipment, was only able to clean about 1/3 of the chimney , all but about 3 feet were easily accessible. He did give a $25 discount.
