Madison S.: Used to be a pretty cool shop, and still has a broad selection, but things have gone downhill. There is an insane amount of employee turnover, the majority of people there are brand new and obviously don't know what they're doing. Newer management provides MUCH lower quality service and is clearly less competent.I have been a customer for a long time, but I will be checking out other pet stores in the area in the future.EDIT: Since this is the only way to reply to the owners reply; Yes I did have a frustrating experience recently, but I was not bothered by the policy itself as much the tactless handling of the situation by the manager and how it reflected the broader trend of worsening service standards.His reply was incorrect/misleading on a couple other points. Its not worth getting into it at length, but for one he actually told me that the guy who helped before WAS a manger at the time and recently got demoted so its makes no sense to frame that as a "gotcha" moment.To be honest the tone/content of his reply just affirms that current leadership at The Reef doesn't value professionalism.
Rob W: I have shopped here from the age of 11 years old. For 22 years this shop has always been one of the best places in central Indy that I've found. Go here for your fresh and salt water aquarium needs including live rock, coral, exotic fish, and everything else in between!It is clean, the tanks and their critters are always well maintained. Great place for most saltwater and freshwater tank needs. The associates have always been knowledgeable regarding marine life, and have helped me build multiple saltwater reef set ups. I recommend this place for your purchases, or even to take the kiddos in to awe them and even perhaps some education. Great place.

The staff are all very knowledgeable and answer any questions I have. They take really good care of their fish and just going there is so relaxing for me.

All of their fish, both tropical and marine, are some of the most active, healthy fish I've seen and certainly exceed what you'd normally expect walking into a pet store. There's also a vast selection of tanks, stands, filters and pumps, decor, scaping supplies, lights, live plants, CO2, reef equipment, and more! If it's for an aquarium, they have it! Definitely will be exclusively purchasing all of my future fish friends from here!
Rodney Cooper (Ghostslug): Bought some fish from there like a week ago and spent like 60 bucks. Put them in an expensive new aquarium with all new stuff and we were sold fish that were contaminated with ICK. Now the fish will probably die and and brand new aquarium along with everything in it is contaminated with the ick parasite which is EXTREMELY difficult to treat. So all the money I've spent on fish, aquarium, and everything to go in it was probably a waste along with all my time and effort. Horrible experience.

While the store did not have certain fish I was looking for, I found fish I had never seen before so it was a wash. I do not remember the name of the young lady that helped but she was super friendly and extremely helpful. I will definitely be back.

Larry Jasan: After making reservations at a restaurant with a similar name, I went to a different restaurant with a similar. As a result I lost the reservation. Management at Kona Jack’s overheard my dilemma and offered me a table during a very New Year’s Eve time. The result turned into a blessing as the food ordered had to be the best in the Indianapolis area. Had a feli that was out of this world and my wife ordered a 12 oz steak that we will be sharing for the next two days. However, that was not the best part of our experience. We were given a server who was an angel from heaven. This man, whose name is Darrell M treated us as if we were the greatest celebrities in the world. He was not overbearing or peaty, but he was spot on when it was necessary in spite of it being a very busy New Years Eve. Kudos to Darrell and management. Matt Black: For as expensive a restaurant as it was I was expecting better food. My best bite all night was the seafood chopped salad,which was made incorrectly the wrong cheese was put in the Greek salad parmesan instead of feta, but came out later than everyone else in my parties salad so didn’t feel like I should send it back and delay the meal. My lobster tail was tough the stone crab claws weren’t impressive. Oysters Rockefeller was good along with the calamari but the shrimp tempura disappointed. My steak was cooked correctly and my cocktails were good. Dessert took what felt like 30 minutes plus from when we ordered them which didn’t make sense with how empty the restaurant was. When everyone at the table starts cracking jokes about how long it is taking and is 80% through their dessert cocktails or coffee you know something went wrong. Desserts were massive which isn’t bad as long as there is some warning,which we weren’t given, that you should share them. Overall for spending that much money at a restaurant you would expect it to be more impressive with the food. Service was good and the waiter was attentive.also like several other people have said the place is so dark that we had flashlights out to read the menu. And we didn’t feel like there was anywhere to take a picture because of bad lighting.

Their Sunday 1/2 priced oysters is contained only to one type of freshwater oysters, The place is dark even during the day, and the elevator is so dark, YOU MUST HOLD ONTO THE GUARDRAIL or simply crawl so you don't fall. Thank heaven the have an elevator. Service was minimal at best. I think that they are so exclusive that the will feel it soon if not already.

Waiter Jake was excellent, very professional, yet fun and knowledgeable. Food was excellent as always, we visit once year, every year for the past 12 years. We love Oceanaire Indianapolis.

Nicholas LaCaille: I came here to eat not expecting to have such fresh and delicious seafood so far from the ocean. It is super hard to find fried oysters that are good. These were excellent. I wanted to try the alligator but will have to try for next time. This is a great place for a couple to go and dine for a date. Great atmosphere and decorations. Oh and don’t forget to try some of the pre made tuna salad and different things like that to take home with you.

Abby S: If you want seafood that feels and taste just like you ate it by the ocean Caplinger’s is the place for you. I got the Caplingers special basket. It came with chipotle coleslaw, hush puppies, and fried white fish. The slaw was super tasty and different than any slaw I’ve had before. The fish was super flaky and tender. The hush Puppies were crispy and delicious. Overall I highly recommend taking a trip over to Caplingers to give their seafood a try.

Andy Earle: This past week, my wife and I decided to get some dinner and came across this place. It was a good decision!We were faced with several options of poke, so I picked the Pele Poke (spicy) and she got the Maui Poke (fruity). The young lady that was helping us was rather new, so she didn't get our order quite right, but it was still delicious, and we are rather easy going to begin with, so it was not a big deal.My Pele was indeed spicy, but not overpowering, and my wife's Maui was fruity and refreshing (her words, not mine). Both bowls were just the right portions as well, so we didn't feel bloated like you may at some other rice-based restaurants.Overall, we will be back to try something else, as they have a pretty good selection.

Ithink the small size is just right for 1 person although Ihave been known to order the regular and eat it allmyself when I'm really hungry. I go so much here thatsome of the employees know me. Staff and owners aresuper friendly. I get a YO poke bowl and add whatevertoppings I like on their own into the bowl and it justworks. I recommend the spicy mayo and unagi saucesfor a sweet and spicy flavor! They even have shaved ice/ice cream desserts here! Love it so much!
J H.: I am not sure what is going on with the quality of their fish, but the spicy tuna was not fresh, nor edible. It had an odd consistency, very pale color, and didn’t seem properly prepared. The noticed that the worker was skimming the portions of the toppings too. Frankly, I’m not sure if I can eat the rest of my meal after this.

Maya Nivarthi: Best poke I’ve had in a while! Great service and great selection of ingredients to add to your bowl. They also have different sizes that are perfect for however hungry you are. I recommend checking this place out, and I suggest ordering the marinated salmon poke with whatever extra toppings sound cool to you.
Eric Cherry: It was my first time ever trying Poke and I loved it! Reminds me of sushi. I got the house version with a few additions and it was fantastic. Worker there was great and walked me thru all the different options.

Lydvine A. Marlene: Late night food run at the Ali poke because my friend was hungry. Knowing I am not a big fan of sushi, I did not want to eat it. My friend got the sushi bowl that she herself was able to customize and I took a bite. Honestly, I was not disappointed! It was delicious! Taste like sushi but even better. I very much enjoy it and planned to get it sometimes soon. Her bowl included: marinated salmon with white rice, avocado, celery, crunchy onion, sesame, and some topping and sauces that I can’t seem to remember but it was delicious. I recommend this place. It looks super pretty inside too.
