I've had a few bad experiences with other flower shops, but I'm happy to say that Gilbert's obviously cares about what they do. These were for our 25th wedding anniversary, so they had to be right - I'm glad I found this shop. Would recommend them for any occasion.

J: Below is a split photo of what we ordered versus what was delivered. It’s a pretty arrangement, but is not what was advertised. Way too much green space and not as many flowers as the stock photo. I tried to call the shop to see if something happened and asked for an email address to send pictures, but was just told the arrangement was made correctly. I feel that there’s a pretty clear difference between the photos though, and I would not recommend and would likely not go back.

Ronald Gilbert: First time using this shop, ordered flowers on February 9th, was delivered on February 10th, the roses were wilted and drooped over by the 12th! I ordered early thinking they would last thru Valentines day but was very disappointed when they never even made it two days!! I paid $97.00 which included delivery. I emailed the shop twice. No response! Very very disappointed. Next time I will go to the local kroger or wal mart and save $50 and have flowers that will last much much longer..what a shame

The plant I originally selected was out of season, but they promptly called me and arranged a replacement. They sent a beautiful azalea plant, in a nice pot, with a cute butterfly decoration. My best friend and family did not receive the arrangement on the day of the order. And when she got the delivery the next day I was embarrassed to say the least . I was hurt because I wanted this to be beautiful for her I also ordered a figure to go inside and it wasn’t in there and she received dead flowers in the arrangement. I had my friend who just lost her father to go to the store and replace the flowers in the plant and I had to pay extra for the difference for the figure . I paid for delivery and not to be embarrassed! I will not ever use this place to order flowers and knowing it was only 2 mins away and my friend dealing with the lost just wasn’t right ! They did fix the problem but still after all that I was mad and hurt and felt bad for my friend that lives in Indiana. What a shame !!!

Erika Sherman: I live in another state and was surprised by news that a dear family friend had passed. Upon receiving the news, I immediately looked for a florist close to the funeral location with positive reviews and ordered some Florists Choice flowers. I wrote the message and a note explaining my preference for the design. Unfortunately, I rushed the remaining process and didn’t complete my order. I didn’t realize my mistake until a few days later—the morning of the funeral! I called as soon as they opened. She was gracious, friendly, compassionate. She listened closely and patiently as I tearfully described what I wanted in an arrangement. They delivered a beautiful potted plant, ornamented with gorgeous fall-colored fresh flowers in less than three hours! My parents sent a photo of the arrangement and we all agree it was perfect. I could not speak more highly of the experience.

Had a delightful conversation with an employee who took my difficult order and was able to make a beautiful bouquet of flowers and have them delivered the same day. The delivery driver was also amazing. I gave two addresses to drop flowers off and she called me to see which would work best and she went out of her way just to try the option that I thought was too late. Because of that, my wife and I were surprised, and it made it more special than a door delivery. Now that is service! Great first experience and I will continue to pick Shadeland!

Tracy Berling: Will NEVER use this business and will advise other not to use as well. As I have ordered k line flower delivery numerous times took my daughter to to order boutonnière for prom. Door was locked during business hours. Lady who took order for my daughter’s boutonnière was incredible rude. She rushed my daughter who had never ordered a boutonnière before through the process. The wrap was not the correct color and there was not a pin included. Boutonnière was $16 and pins purchased elsewhere was $5 a little pricey for one flower.

Shadeland Florist came up and I remembered my husband ordered me the most beautiful roses from there. So we ordered. I of course did not know what to do for my friend and her family. It’s so amazing to know that the florist felt the pain of the family and demonstrated her sympathy so well that when words cannot fully express her condolences, the flowers state a million words. I call as I'm looking for Christmas flowers with my 82 year old grandmother. I tell the woman she abruptly says "we don't have any of that."I reply "ok maybe she can find something else she wants."Store clerk "I got robbed 3 weeks ago. I'm here alone and I'm not letting anyone in."Now let me be clear I am not downplaying anyone's potential trauma but as a business owner this was handled poorly.First if that's how you feel just keep your shop closed. If you still need to work then the sign should read "pre orders only".And I can't say standing out in the cold with my 82 year old grandmother did not make me happy as she was upset as well.I do hope healing and a safe feeling is found but also that some best business practices are enacted.

I called Love at First Sight and Design (Raw Flower Design), and even though they didn’t have the figurine , the designer googled where to find one locally so shecould place in the ordered arrangement. To some this seems like a lot of effort but once she heard this order was for my close friend who was going to experience her first chemo treatment, she spared no effort to design a beautiful arrangement. Since I am out of state, she sent me photographs and scheduled to have it delivered once my friend returned from the hospital. Lee Hopkins: I Googled Andrew's Florists for a time sensitive delivery because our family and friends have successfully used them for years. I was in a hurry so I made an on-line order on what I thought was Andrew's Florists delivery page -- it was not.Andrew's, and I'm sure other local florists, are victims of unscrupulous search engine misdirections - a hi-jack. My Google search took me to Andrew's Florists/Ava's Flowers...mmm. I made my purchase and then got a notice from Ava's that the local florist, who I had assumed was Andrew's Florists, could not make the delivery because of a snow storm that was scheduled to hit in 6-7 hours! After much go-around with these people I successfully cancelled the order. By this time no other florist was able to deliver. Had I picked up the phone and called Andrew's in the first place or took the time to make sure the web address was right, I'm sure the delivery would have been made on time by Andrew'sBe assured, the next time I need flowers, Andrew's will be my first choice.BTW, I looked on Ava's Flowers website and there is NO place to leave a review. Nice.

Mark Petrison: If you're just trying to get some pretty flowers as a gift, you'd save money by buying the flowers themselves elsewhere; then taking care of elementary stem cutting yourself, as well as any common sense arrangement, glassware, and delivery.But if you'd rather not do some of those things, or don't mind spending a little extra, or would rather let a practiced professional do a somewhat better job than you likely would; then this place seems more than fine to me.

They had mentioned they were working on freshening up the flowers from the weekend but I could pick any that were available or choose an arrangement and come back later that day. I wanted them at the moment so chose the ones that I liked the best. When I got to the register the associate noticed right away that a few were not up to their excellent standards so she immediately told me she was going to take them back and switch a few flowers out to make sure the arrangement was fresh. They wrapped them up perfectly and I was so happy with what I left with! My boss loved the flowers and I so appreciate the time and care this staff took to make my last minute arrangement such a great experience! Will come back and refer friends to this location.

Decorations for home and garden cover every inch of the walls, every scrap of surface space, and even hang from the ceiling. There are multiple areas for different aesthetics. I have picked up a couple of my favorite Christmas decor pieces here and love stopping by on my way to/from the Trader Joe’s which shares a parking lot.
