I hoped this salon could be a place id learn to feel confident in my hair. But in this salon I felt like an outsider. I felt ashamed that I hadn’t styled my hair for a haircut appointment. I felt ashamed I was told I needed another love lesson because what I was doing wasn’t enough. To wrap this up, be very vocal about what you want and how you’re feeling to the stylist. I went here twice seeking a round, layered shape, but they gave me a heavy cut with an awkward, curtain-like shape. I looked around as I was leaving on my second visit and realized that all the other clients were getting this same cut. If you look at the pics you can see what I’m talking about. It’s honestly not very flattering on most people. I didn’t pay over $100 for a cookie cutter haircut. Chris Bennett: I had the absolute worst experience here. They processed my hair with color for 4 1/2 hours and caused major damage to my curls. I reached out to the stylist and she gave recommendations on products to try. They did not work and when I reached out again she stopped responding to me. I contacted the owner and they gave me back the several hundred dollars I spent. The owner said she could look at my hair and try a treatment. She gave me her availability and I emailed back twice with no response and I called salon and was told the owner would reach out to me. Again, she now has stopped responding to me. If o had known this could happen to me hair I never would have done it. So upsetting 😔
Jasmine Copeman: This review is long overdue, as I have been a customer for a little over 2 years, but to this day, I feel welcomed and see nothing but encouragement and endless education every time I walk into Kurly Koils. A lot of the positives have already been said about this salon and the lovely ladies who run it, but I wanted to reflect on an experience I had this past weekend.Recently, I went to unaffiliated stylist for a wedding I was in and was terrified to let anyone else but Britteny do my hair. Still, I let the other stylist do my hair and although she showed me heat protectant and explained how the products she was using would protect my curls, I walked away with heat damage to the beautiful curls Britteny helped me achieve. As soon as I saw it, I knew who I needed to talk to for help. Without hesitation, I emailed Britteny and was not afraid of what she might say or what we might need to do to my hair.Although I've been styling my hair for 2 years with the skills gained here, I sometimes need a refresher on how to do it. When I ask, I never get a "you should know this by now." Instead, I get a mirror to watch the process and another curl lesson to remind me. And since I know how to do my hair and recently got a refresher, I know that the fix to my current problem is outside of my knowledge and I need professional guidance. Throughout the 2 years that I've been going to her, she has made me feel comfortable enough to go to her with any hair mishap I might have, which is HUGE. And this one is huge.I say all of that to say this: If you are struggling to like your curls, did some damage to your curls that you can't reverse or just need someone you trust with your curly crown in general, this is the place to go! Amanda Lucas: Curls for days! I've been looking for a hair salon that can cut curly hair for a DECADE. I selected dry cut curly appointment and a hair repair treatment (highly recommend you do both)This genuinely was the first hair appointment I've ever been to that they adequately put enough product in my hair and knew how to cut curls. My hair looks amazing and can finally show off. I'm familiar with the hair products and process I need to do, but if you weren't sure how to properly style your curly hair, they can teach you! Moisture, moisture,, moisture. They did use some products in the salon I loved and bought a hair mask to help my damaged curls.Once my hair is in better shape I plan to come back and do some highlights to hide my greys a bit.
danya urizar: I came here after a balayage (elsewhere) that damaged my hair. It was the worst, my curls were non-existent. Dani took such good care of my hair, couldn't recommend her enough, and the product recommendation was great! My hair is going back to what it once was

Erin Barr: I once gave this place a 5-star rating, but I'm sorry to say that I have changed my thoughts. Three out of the four haircuts I've had at this place were cancelled or rebooked because the person I booked no longer worked there - which suggests a high turnover for some reason. Because of this, my haircuts have each been different even though I asked for the same thing each time. The last haircut I had in January was awful, because the person who cut my hair not only judged what I do for a living, but also forgot to put in my layers even though that's what he agreed. Then last week, my appointment for a month from now got cancelled and I didn't get a curtesy phone call to rebook. I go to another place in Indy now, and the haircut I got there was MUCH prettier, even, and professional than anything I got at Salon Honey. mac: i don’t think i would ever be able to say enough good things about this salon! i went in yesterday for a custom curly cut with Hannah, and i’ve never had a curly cut so i was super excited for this experience! to start the salon vibes are absolutely immaculate and i felt so comfortable which is a win because i have mega social anxiety LOL. Hannah started with the cut and explained why should we be cutting where she was and the benefits of it, and she crushed it on the shampoo too 10/10! once we got to styling i was nervous since i’ve never had a stylist be able to style my natural curls without making them frizzy or overly weighed down. my hair felt so light, it was SO defined, and even after sleeping on it it still looks INCREDIBLE!!! the shape of my hair is chefs kiss, i love it so much! this was by far my favorite salon experience, so thanks Salon Honey for being so cool!

She said I should come back in for a touch up in a few weeks but refused to fix it/ refund me.

The shop owner was not upfront with the service prices.I was charged a speciality fee to get pink highlights that washed out literally the NEXT day. I used the shampoo recommended by the stylist and took the necessary precautions to protect the color. When I contacted the stylist and owner about my concern regarding my new hair style, she never returned my message (it has been over a month). The owner / stylist took pictures of my hair and promised to send them to me, which never happened.However. The balayage I received was nice and blended well with my hair. I wish I could give this a higher rating. Maybe it was just a miscommunication?

Which would have been fine but one side was cut in too far in and too high then the otherside. I can't style it going straight back because you see the difference. I think they style well as in roller sets and twist flat ironing ect.... And they have a great product line that conditions and makes hair healthy but wish I had gone to a barber first for the actual cut. Letting my hair grow out all winter to get it fixed in spring.

Go to Aveda atleast you'll be happy for 1/6 of the price! $150 for a haircut and moisture mask is robbery. Go get a protein mask at Sally's And go elsewhere for cut as I've paid under $50 for same deal and actually was styled before leaving not $150 by a ungrateful waste of human space that wanted more than the $25 tip I gave. I asked if I needed to make an appointment to which she replied, “No not at all, I can just snip them a bit shorter in no time.”Today I just “popped in” like I was told to do and I was told that I couldn’t be seen.Meanwhile I see my stylist chatting away to a co-worker…I asked the receptionist to ask her because my stylist told me that I didn’t need an appointment for the fix…..I was told no that I couldn’t be seen until 2 hours later.” I said I made the 40 minute trip because I was told I could just stop by to have my cut corrected.I then said, “I pay well for my hair trims, tip well and always buy product at every appointment, but that I needed to cancel my December appointment and that KKBB just lost a full service client.When customer service is at an all time low in this country and there are hundreds of salons to choose from, I would think that telling your customers one thing and then not keeping your word would NOT be the thing to do.Services:Hairstyling,Haircut
