Maru: what do users think?
something blessed: Went with friends from work and had A nice time. The room was overcharged and the menu was very limited. Customer service was terrible, the owner lady had A terrible attitude with us. The men who paid before us were treated nice but of course us black girls weren’t.
yo carrot: we got overcharged
Ryan Rotundo: Small and charming karaoke place, prices for the rooms are pretty fair if you have a large group with you - we had 8 people for 3 hours and it averaged about 20 dollars per person for the whole thing. Large selection of songs, from Korean to English to Japanese and more. I went once and already want to go back.
Emma Kennedy: Went for my birthday with my sister and her boyfriend and had fun but was overcharged greatly for our room ! - don’t go to this place they will probably overcharge you with no explanation
Jacky Lara: We got scammed
Joshua Love: The equipment worked, which is why I'm giving a second star. The song selection was okay. We were overcharged and under served.I went to this karaoke lounge with some old college friends of mine who were in from out of town. The owners treated my group poorly. First, after our party of 8 ordered a second sake, they stopped serving the room. We tried two more times to get more, with no luck. When we went to pay, we were charged 4 bottles. We were also charged for the large room rate when we did not have a large room. When we tried to discuss the charges, we were told "this is what you owe", and they would not discuss the rate or lack of bottles in our room any further. I can see now where other reviews describe dishonest practices. I will not return, and if you are reading this, I would recommend you not waste your money.
Travis McIntosh: Ton of fun! Wish they had more songs but honesty I still had a great time
mj: 3 stars because the song selection is extremely outdated. The newest songs were from may of 2017; there's no way to sing any songs released after then unless you use the large party room which is $50 per hour (compared to the small rooms that are $30/hr). Other than that, the owner was nice and the experience is good.
FI Galaxy: Amazing place highly recommend. Rates start at $30 an hour. Foods good and always a fun time.
Anthony Chau: Poor establishment. Dishonest business. So not recommended. Stay clear of this place
Linsi Miller: Super clean and really nice. Lady running the place was really nice.
R Shaw: It is $30 per hour for a Karaoke room. The website does not mention this and the menu is not on the website. The room was hot but they did provide a fan. The food was good. Pretty good songs to choose from. We liked the privacy of the room.
sandpaper: If you love good food and karaoke, I could not recommend this place more! The staff was friendly and easy to talk to and able to help my group of five with any concerns. There is a flat rate of the room per hour depending on if your group is large or small (Mine was small). There’s a great variety of English, Korean, and Japanese songs. The food was absolutely delicious and vegetarian friendly. I highly recommend if you have musical friends or need to practice singing on your own!
Lindsey Fraley: They were so helpful and accommodating to my group. Decent song selection and great service
Tara Hopkins: Went in not knowing what this place was . We got asked how many are in our group and got lead to a room and was given a menu. The lady asked if we had been here before and was told them we had not. I was never informed the room was $60 an hour !!!! When we were done my bill was over $64 . I tried telling them they didnt inform us on any of this information. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING !
Philip Mitchell: Loved the atmosphere and service
Heather Davis: Went for my sister's bachelorette party. We were in our own room with a closed door so we were able to hang out and sing without a mask. Pricing is reasonable and they have a large selection of American pop songs. They also have other songs in Korean if interested in those. I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to go back.
B2B Weatherbee: Been there before and it was pricy and there was thin walls. We tried to go again to give it a second chance. When we arrived the lady at the door rejected us because on of the girls looked too young. But when I called afterwards the same lady said it was okay. Real contradicting in my opinion. Sorry but won't be giving this place a 3rd chance
Virginia King: It was just simply amazing! Great service and a lot of fun!
Stephen Riblet: Could use clearer instructions for non-korean participants but hosts were welcomjnlling
Jack Phillips: What a great time. You get a room for you and your friends to sing and laugh together.

The Monkey's Tale Karaoke Bar: what do users think?
Paden Winslett: I used to adore this place... it was part of my success as a karaoke singer that leveled up. But they have no respect for regulars that have dealt with unthinkable circumstances with no repercussions with their employeesAnd when I spoke on it.. I was banned and I never had a history of disrespect there
Ashley Poindexter: I am born and raised in Indy. This place is home. I discovered it 3yrs ago after a horrible first date. Since then, I have created so many amazing memories. Great energy. Great drinks. Amazing staff. AWESOME djs.
Rian York: The environment is amazing cool people and great music and amazing barkeeps
Julio galvan: Drinks leave something to be desired, but what the hell, you don't come here for drinks. Good vibe.
Jamie Mattingly: The absolute best karaoke bar in Indianapolis, If not the world!!
Karen Cheek: Super fun karaoke with lots of audience participation! Shout out to the bartenders who take great care of all of us. If you go here regularly, like I do, you will become part of "the family" and will feel like you are accepted and supported every time you sing. The patio in summer is awesome! Scott Collier is the best karaoke DJ in the city! Check it out.
eezyrider65: I love coming to the Monkey's Tale! always the best people and the most fun place to sing karaoke in Indianapolis!! The drinks are cold, the music's hot, and the friendship is all warm and fuzzy!!
Wade Boyer: Killer spot for a good time
Sequoya Jowers: I like the karaoke! Shots we're a good priceWish it wasn't so small in there :/
Megan Gunder: I lived the atmosphere and service!
Walter Shorts: Very nice spot. Bartender was attentive and informed. Good crowd. Karaoke DJ (EZ Rider) was excellent. Great sound system.
Sydera Theobald: Used to love this place. Now all I can say is: "keep a close eye on your drinks." See ya Monkey's Tale, it was fun while it lasted.Edit (Jan 23 2020):I would like to update my review in light of this reply to clarify some misunderstandings.First, in response to your inquiries: No, I wasn’t on new medication. Yes, your establishment was the only place we went that night. It’s the only bar we ever go to. Prior to arriving, I had a very large meal, and had only consumed one and a half drinks over the course of two hours before I began losing my memory and faculties. The day after the incident, on January 7th, my concerned friend and fellow regular, who was with me the entire evening, called Monkey’s Tale and left a detailed voicemail. She did not try to blame anyone for the what happened, merely invited awareness so the staff could be on the lookout for suspicious behavior, the way we understand any decent community would be. She also asked if there was any security footage from the evening to help us identify a suspect to bring to the police, even providing the specific timeframe in which the incident would have occurred. She left her number and mine and requested someone get back to her. She never received a response. The following day, January 8th, I received an email. It did not address any of the concerns detailed in the voicemail, and curtly suggested we contact the police. We did, but without a suspect, they were unable to take further action. They encouraged us to make a civil case against Monkey’s Tale, but as long-time regulars, we wanted to do our best to handle this privately. We contacted the bar again about the possibility of security footage. Again, no response. On January 11th, I sent another email expressing my disappointment with how the situation had been handled. I asked once again about security footage and waited. No reply. It was only after I wrote a negative review on a public forum that I received any kind of meaningful response. My question to you is: where was this concern when I reached out to you privately? I’m left to conclude that your concern is for your reputation and not your patrons. My conclusion is not based upon my experience that night, and not even on the fact that your employee, Scott, screamed obscenities in my face as I lost touch with my surroundings. It is based solely on the sorry, evasive response (or lack there of) that I have received regarding my concerns. It would be a mistake to return to an establishment that clearly does not value safety or transparency.I wish you the best, and hope you can come to understand the importance of this issue. Until then, I can no longer feel comfortable at Monkey’s Tale.
Cody Mile: This place is absolutely bonkers on a Saturday night. There is a cover however it is totally worth it. The amount of good bad and ugly karaoke singers that are in here is astounding. I've heard some of the best singers, I've heard some of the worst singers. The great part of being here is literally everyone is having a great time. You will not see a frown in the crowd. I took some out of town people here they also had a blast I will be returning as soon as I have time.
Angela Frost: Good sound system..and the Kj is a RUSH fan
Take Over (Dej): It's ok drunk trouble makers. Drama filled
Precious Smith: It was a cool environment!
Maggie Mathew: Fun for a late evening karaoke trip. From 8-10pm the bar is dead. 10pm, when the karaoke starts, it brings a lot of people. Drinks a little pricey for a Miller lite. The karaoke was fun but a little loud for the small space. Would go again.
Mamou Mbaye: Fun place
George Wright: Great atmosphere! i always make a stop here with my bar crawls. The banana babes are always a blast and the drinks are priced just right. Not a huge fan with the cover on week nights however.
Mike Coleman: Great affordable location for private parties.
Tricia Gwinn: Dont expect to sing if you dont buy drinks.. Had them walk me to the bar to try to get me to drink when I didnt wish too.. I declined to sing but this was a very embarrassing situation..
