Rebecca Terry: Always such good, authentic food. The zuccini pancakes are a little too oily/greasy, but the spinach chicken and falafel wrap were incredible. Large portion size enough for 2 meals. They took the extra time to double saran wrap the food to prevent spills and it was ready within 20-30 minutes.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Cynthia Shank: The service was exceptional. We requested suggestions as we had not been to this restaurant before and the recommendations were amazing. I got the Zucchini Pancake as an appetizer and the Sultan's Delight for lunch. Very generous portions as to took home over half of my meal for later. Everything heated-up wonderfully without loss in quality. I live several hours away but would drive for a meal here. Highly recommend.
Leah Pyle: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes BaklavaMore
S. H.: For the past years, I have visited this restaurant multiple times. Never a single time it let me down. I really love the appetizer sampler and lamb chop from here. Top notch all the time. The window seals are failing, which can make window seats cold in winter time. That is why I am giving 4 stars on atmosphere. Everything else is great.

Klair: Great job guys
Akash Bhapkar: We liked the food, we ordered lamb chops, chicken bosphorous and bosphorous special. Server was good, ambience was cozy, baklava was excellent. I am giving only 3 starts because of Tiramisu. We have tried Tiramisu in variety of places and heard about Tiramisu from this place as well. But we got served with some normal cake with cinnamon powder, it definitely was not a tiramisu. It didn’t even have a coffee flavor. Very disappointed with Tiramisu.
GC L: It’s a very lovely spot where you can get authentic Turkish food. I’m a huge fan of hummus but the babaganush stole my heart! We ordered Zucchini pancakes, Tzatziki , the appetizer combo that comes with hummus, tabuli, babaganush, salsa, doma and Ezme additional we got a falafel wrap with lentil soup. Honestly portions are so generous we were 3 and got some bins to take away. We ended up getting baklava and a lovely Turkish coffee. The place is so cute and has that Turkish vibes. We received our order super fast and the staff very friendly and helpful. Of course I’ll be back soon

One of my friends from Turkey was so thankful for it being authentic Turkish food. The owner was wonderful and made us feel right at home. Abdelrahman Ramadan: nice mediterranean cuisine downtown. I recommend the spicy gyro. The guys working their are nice and patient. The food is great, although I would add that they lack consistency. Some days it will be good, other days it will be great.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Gyro, Fries and Chicken Shawarma, Gyro Platter, Philly Cheese Steak, Shawarma Sandwich …More

Medha Kulkarni: Petra Cafe is a delightful Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant that serves up some of the best Greek and Mediterranean food in town. On my recent visit, I choose my usual Falafel Sandwich/Wrap Combo, which comes with fries, a drink, and a choice of sauce. I'm a vegetarian, so my options are limited! The first thing that caught my attention was the aroma of freshly cooked falafels as they were being prepared. Once I got my hands on the sandwich, I was impressed by the generous portion size and the vibrant colors of the ingredients. The falafels were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. And let's talk about the fries! When seasoned properly, they are delicious and perfectly complement the falafel wrap. I was slightly disappointed on some of my visits when the fries were not seasoned, but it's a minor complaint in an otherwise fantastic dining experience. But wait, there's more! Petra Cafe's hummus is a must-try, and the pita bread is so fresh and soft that it practically melts in your mouth. The combination of flavors and textures in each bite is simply divine.Overall, Petra Cafe is a diverse and welcoming spot on Mass Ave that never disappoints. This is the place to go if you're looking for a flavorful, satisfying meal with plenty of options.
Tiffany Lieberman: Got the spicy gyro with extra tzatziki and it was amazing!!
Brian Walker: Petra is a family owned business with very late hours of operation. I like supporting small businesses like this. The food is always good.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Gyro …More
kati tar: Very dirty restaurant with nice people but the food is very average and you have to fight to eat with the little spoons and fork. Bathroom also not pleasent.Food: 1/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 2/5Recommended dishes Hummus …More
Robert E: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5Recommended dishes Gyro, Gyro Platter, KebabMore
Kara Gladish: I wanted a gyro. I went here to get a gyro... It was perfect. Great hummus and fries too. Can't wait to go back!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Ahcene Rezki: Over priced for no reason and the food was not good at all , the fry was over cooked and oil was turned old. Never be back even for freeFood: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Iang C.: I am obsessed with the spicy gyro sandwich.. 10/10.
Kayla Newcomb: 10/10 recommend. Great variety of fresh, authentic Mediterranean foods with great prices (and huge portions). Small but comfortable amount of indoor seating and in great walking distance of everything on Mass. Ave.I ordered the falafel and hummus apps (served with tzatziki and hot peta bread respectively) and mixed them with the fattoush salad which was DELICIOUS.Definitely want to go back again and try their Turkish coffee and other menu items.
Mouna Mouna: Best Mediterranean food ever, the portions are really good, generous, and the staff very friendly. I recommend it.
ashwin kumaar: Had a Shawarma sandwich, it was the coldest one I ever had. chicken was dry and not even warmed up.Food: 1/5 …More
Nathanael Snyder (Nathan): Great food! Fast takeout and they are open decently late!
gadean: How is this restaurant not packed? Their food is made fresh to order and it shows. Their prices have remained reasonable, too. Highly recommended but take your food to go because the atmosphere isn't great.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Ahmad Tamim: The sandwich tastes exceptionally good—the ingredients are fresh. Service is friendly as always.Recommended dishes Gyro, Chicken Kebab, Kebab …More
Shane Conrad: Amazing food. Glad I made the trip there for dinner, will be returning again and again. I got turned on to Chicken Shawarma during my travels in Canada and this is by far the closest to what I got in Canada anywhere here in the US. They make a good Toum (garlic) sauce, if only they had a sweet spicy harrisa, that would've made it even better (if that's even possible)
Ahmed: Great and tasty food. Speedy service. Nice and friendly staff.
Luke Renick: Best damn gyro I've ever had
Gummudala Hymavathi: Everything was too tastyI recommend everyone to try here if you get a chanceRecommended dishes Hummus and Pita, Kofta Kebab Platter, Hummus, Kebab …More

Saffron Cafe: what do users think?
Daniel Stephens: The most intimate dining experience I could ever imagine. I wish I ate slower when I was there because it really deserves to be enjoyed to the fullest c:
Staci Wright-Adams: They never answer the phone to place an order. Tonight is the 2nd time we've tried to call and place an order. No one ever answers.
Mike Rittenhouse: Canceled my doordash order 30 minutes after I placed it with no excuse. My dasher was already there to pick it up.Now I have to order from somewhere else and wait for that to be prepared and delivered.
Lori Rencher: Great food, great atmosphere!
Abdelhamid Azzaz: I went there with a big group of family and friends. We were excited to try the Moroccan food. I ordered couscous with vegetables and braised chicken. The food took sometime to make it to the table, and then the waiter started bringing it.The couscous and the vegetables were very flavorful and delicious, but the chicken was grilled not braised as described in the menu, and there were only 3 small cubes of grilled chicken on the plate!!! I was a little disappointed in this! My wife got the basil coconut pasta with shrimp, which also came with 3 shrimps and it was overly sweet!!!The decor is nice and authentic, but the food experience was not 100% authentic or impressive!Coming to the prices, I think they are overpriced (about $23 for some 3 cubes of grilled chicken and some couscous with vegetables) and we had a 20% gratuity added to our ticket!
Jacky Cook: I wish I could give this zero stars. The service was horrible. Server acted like I was an inconvenience. I was ordering and he walked away before I could order my drink. Decided just to drink water. Water was warm so I asked for ice. Instead I got another glass of warm water. Food was very bland and not worth the price. I could have done a better job preparing at home. Finally had to get up and find some salt because the entire tme I was there the server never came back to see if I needed anything. It wasn't because he was busy. I was the only one in there. When he brought my check he didn't say anything. Not even a "thank you". I gave exact amount and left. First time in my life I have ever refused to leave a tip. I had a rare opportunity to enjoy a nice meal out and I ended up wasting it on this.
Joe M: Food was good but the service was absolutely the worst I have EVER experienced in any restaurant anywhere. We asked for water twice and never refilled again. He forgot our teas and then charged us for them. There's only 1 guy taking orders, serving good and bussing / cleaning tables. He's trying. I sincerely doubt we'll ever return.
INDYASPHALT24: We were paving a parking lot adjacent to this restaurant. I ordered chicken pita & red potatoes for lunch. It was out of this world!! Excellent food & service. Will definitely come here to eat again!!
Jordan P: I'm really not sure where all these good reviews are coming from. The service was extremely slow, and the food was seriously overpriced considering the complete lack of flavor.
Aaron M: Delicious! All of it!
Kylie Lockett: Super cute restaurant and such a great experience! I would highly recommend to come here. The flavors of the food are incredible and make such a fun environment to get out of the norm of American food, if you are looking for something like that. It’s a small restaurant so seating is very limited and it’s hard to get in sometimes from what I hear, but if you can get in it’s definitely worth it. It’s on the pricier end of the spectrum for a restaurant as well, but again it’s worth it in my opinion.
Khatai Aliyev: This was our first visit today. I cant imagine such a restourant. No satisfactory service. Did not like foods at all.
Frank N: Excellent food but nonexistent wait staff. He did not have the basics of being a waiter like bringing out waters. He obviously barely understood English which meant delayed drinks and wrong order for some items.
Jennifer Pruett: So I’m going to tell you about an unusual adventure I had a few evenings ago. I decided to check another restaurant off the ever growing google maps list. I’ve been trying to hit up the Saffron Cafe but my schedule never really matched up to when they were open. I headed there and was excited to try out the Moroccan food.I found a place to park (paid parking) behind the restaurant. I went inside and a voice called out from the kitchen to sit wherever I liked. There was only one other table inside and one on the patio so I chose a round table. Thought that would be able to accommodate the food I’d order. After I was seated the waitress came out and asked if there was “just one?” Let me just say please don’t say this to someone who is dining alone. It doesn’t bother me but it takes a lot of courage for some people to eat by themselves. This makes them feel bad. I read an article a few years ago about it and I’ve never said “just one” again. After she handed me the menu a gentleman came into the restaurant. He sat down at a table nearby so I invited him to join me. Surprisingly he came over and sat down. We ordered and I chose the saffron mussels appetizer and the lamb tangine. My “date” ordered Chef Sentissi’s Traditional Lamb M’Rosia and a house salad. My mussels showed up and I offered to share. The waitress brought out a small appetizer plate. There was One pound of fresh steamed mussels prepared in a rich & creamy saffron sauce with garlic & sweet basil served with warm bread for dipping. They had a sort of sweet flavor but delicious none the less. Our meal showed up shortly after. I was excited to try a tangine. The one I picked had lamb leg, peas and artichoke hearts in a rich saffron, garlic, and ginger sauce garnished with pickled lemon. Honestly I was a little underwhelmed. Lamb was tender. Sauce was lacking flavor. It was expecting it to be super flavorful. I shared with my guest. His entree was enormous and he let me taste it too. The couscous and vegetables were very good but the star was the leg of lamb. Here is the description from the menu: A 16 ounce bone-in New Zealand lamb shank slow-roasted for 5 hours in a rich & hearty vegetable purée sauce of onions, potatoes, carrots & garlic prepared with the sweet flavors of honey, nutmeg, & cinnamon along with the deeper flavors of ginger & clove - all balanced with lots of saffron & just a touch of cayenne...Sweet & spicy perfection! It was a touch spicy but overall had an amazing flavor. I was jealous I didn’t order it! We ate and had some awesome conversations about traveling and food. I tried something out to my comfort zone and it turned out to be great. I learned so much about someone new and enjoyed myself. Can’t wait to do it again soon. Try something new and invite a stranger to join you for a meal.I’ll be back to try something else on the menu. I want to get a dish that floors me. Until my next meal…grab your forks and get out and eat and let me know where.
Reda ELKHOUDDARI: Yummy delicious food very authentic, parking was hard and construction on road and private parking space made it difficult to locate the restaurant.
Angie F: The beautiful exterior murals were marred by an unkept enclosed patio. The floor and tables needed attention; some window panels were slashed and so rain-spotted it was difficult to see through them. While the interior ambiance was warm and colorful, fixtures and surfaces needed dusting. We were greeted with a smile and promptly seated. Thereafter, service was painfully slow--even though the dining room was relatively empty during most of our visit. Almond Chicken Tangine was piping hot, but relatively bland and overwhelmed by nearly 3/4 cup of raisins. The divinely-scented Lamb Honey Tangine was well-cooked but cloyingly sweet; further, there was little flesh on the bone. We split Tiramisu for dessert--the best part of our meal, but an unexpectedly small portion given the nearly $9 price. Having read impressive reviews, we were somewhat disappointed with the value of our meal. We are uncertain we will return.
N G: Came here for hubby's birthday with friends. Food was fantastic, atmosphere was amazing. Waitress and cook are AWESOME! Thank you guys for being awesome, will come back. :)
Ewelina Mrozinska: Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: No Takeout: YesMore
Devin Peterson: FOOD POISONING !! I ordered food recently including a moroccan plate and italian food. The italian food had an after-taste that tasted like laundry soap. I couldn't eat very much of it because it tasted so odd. That night I woke up moaning and my chest had severe pain in my heart. I was looking for an urgent care that was open at 3am. The pain finally went away after using the bathroom to pass the food. This place serves ROTTEN FOOD !!
Caleb Drake: Context:We visited Saffron for an intimate, celebratory date night. This was my fourth visit and my wife's first.Food:As always, the food was superb w/ generous portions. Unique spice blends create an aromatic and flavorful experience. Our wines: the Moroccan Sauvignon Blanc & French Pinot Noir were also very nice.Service:The servers were polite, but we got really weird, awkward vibes from them the whole time that made us uneasy. It took ~15min to get drinks, ~40 min to get our appetizer and ~55min to get our entrees. We were getting hangry and parched by the time we got our foodEnvironment:Dining room is intimate feel with quaint decor and Moroccan ephemera. The colorful hanging lights are my favorite element of the space. There is also an enclosed patio open seasonally. The space was getting a tad smoky from the kitchen by the end of our visit. As someone sensitive to smoke/fumes, I was getting a headache by the end of our visit.Overall:The phenomenal food and intimacy of Saffron will bring us back for another attempt; however, service quality will be the determining factor of our further patronage.
Adam Winterbauer: Maybe my expectations were off, I thought the food would be spicier, being a Moroccan place, more aromatic... what I got was basically a lamb stew that I probably could have done at home. That being said, it wasn't bad. Maybe they tone it down for the Midwestern palate? I don't know. The mussels with the creamy saffron sauce were satisfying.
