Dr. William Starsiak: I competed in a ballroom dance competition to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital, and this was the venue. It was perfect. Beautiful ambiance, great bar, very convenient to get ready next door in the embassy suites which is directly attached. So no need to go outside. Excellent location for a wedding for the same reasons, your guests can stay and embassy suites and walk right over to the ballroom. It has a sort of Italian filled with the design around the circumference of the roughly circular ballroom.

Carlos Guerrero: Was there on a four day business trip. We had quite the schedule and everything in the background rans so smooth, you'd forget all the hard work the staff is involved with. Breakfast, lunch, breaks and dinner went off without a problem. The food was great, warm and everyone had plenty to pick from. Small friendly conversations with the staff shows they care about their work. The hotel is within walking distance from everything; bars, restaurants and Lucas Oil football field which is pretty cool and the Indianapolis Pacers basketball stadium.We got pizza and we're able to eat in the lobby while enjoying drinks from the bar. Went to the Slippery Noodle and walked back to the hotel with no problem and enjoyed some local sites also. Enjoy your stay.

They did a fantastic job feeding all of us, hosting Galas and Socials, and accommodating everyone. Hospitality here was truly amazing and they made the guests feel appreciated. mo keithley: Beautiful event center with lots of space. They had intimate spaces with sofas and chairs grouped together in the corners, a dance floor, dining room, and an outdoor patio and fireplace. Our group was very large, but it never felt crowded. They had amazing food and excellent service! The parking is right behind and very convenient. This is a gorgeous facility, and our group had a GREAT time here! Definitely recommend checking them out if you need to host a nice event!

Every element of this venue is top notch, including their A/V team and capabilities. The venue has a great theme and decor, but is flexible enough that it can be dressed up into a professional or elegant atmosphere. You won't regret it!

I recorded the keynote, took photos and just listened to an awesome program.Alexander has such an eclectic array of one dimensional to three dimensional art. Cherry: This is a very unique hotel that I would recommend to anyone who likes art and out of the ordinary. You can see many everyday items (some obsolete) turned into art. Be sure to check out the Bird Man and the Madame CJ Walker display. Get a close look or you will overlook important details (like the cleaning person missed the red sauce on the white light switchplate in my room). The birds made from old albums are also a must-see, unless you are an album collector. The rooms are pretty and spacious. I slept well on my king-size firm mattress, but it seems that the hotel needs to spend more on them, particularly insulating for sound. One can hear conversations from the room next to them. If that doesn't bother you, then you will probably have no complaints after staying here.The showers are lovely and there were plenty of towels for one person.The pub is poppin' but I didn't try the food. People just seem to be enjoying themselves and there were many folks in there on a Friday night. The hotel also has a cozy patio for outdoor dining or snuggling. I don't think there was enough space for dancing.I would stay again, but l'd bring disinfecting wipes. One word of caution: You will be charged if you remove the full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, or body wash from your room. This is written on a pricing sheet beside your bed, but you might miss it if you are enchanted with all the breathtaking sites.Thankfully, I read the sign.Go have a great time. This is a stay I will remember fondly for a long time!
NATASCHA FLOYD: This place is amazing! Not just the beauty and ambience of the hotel but the staff is incredibly hospitable and professional, too! We stayed here for my birthday and booked 2 rooms via an internet booking agency but there was an issue showing only 1 room when we arrived. The staff at the Alexander hotel were quick to remedy the situation and I mean QUICK! They booked a 2nd room a the same rate without hesitation. Then there was an issue later with the booking site. They still charged for the 2nd room. Tried to rectify the situation with them but got no where so called the Alexander directly and they took care of the problem right away! Erin and Brady are phenomenal, give them a raise! This was our 2nd stay at The Alexander and we love it every time. We will be back! And we will be booking directly next time! Thanks again, guys! =)
deondra Billingsley: We had an ghastly experience at The Alexander. I was initially thrilled to spend Valentines day weekend within the hotel due to my previous experience. We arrived early (about 20 minutes) for check in but the room wasn't available which wasn't a big deal. We started to notice that everyone after our arrival was able to check in expeditiously without hesitation to get them to their room which was odd. After 40 minutes of waiting I requested status and was advised "they're still working on it". After 20 more minutes of waiting, I asked for another update and was met with again "they're still working on it". I then explained we had dinner reservations that we were late to and asked for a different room. They placed us in a different outside of the suite I reserved. Fast forward to now being charged for an extra day and no one within management being able to figure out why. I now have to go through the headache of working with my bank to ensure this is rectified. Please look into other options in downtown Indianapolis. They're some other hotels that will take the extra mile to ensure that you and your loved one will have an exceptional time while meeting your needs.

Erin Linscott: Absolutely beautiful space. Very little decorations are needed since it has its own vibe. We were able to bring in our own food and photographers. The employees are easy to work with and quick to respond. They get the venue looking perfectly and helped with cleaning trash off tables during the reception. Highly recommend using their in house DJ. He made it so easy to have the perfect music and times it perfectly. They do an amazing job making sure that your day is exactly how you want it. Highly recommend.
Kaylee Evans: BEAUTIFUL space to hold a wedding, and the staff were wonderful to work with. It was a bit pricier than some of the other venues we looked at, but you truly get what you pay for at the Neidhammer. We are so pleased with how smoothly our day went, in large part thanks to the Neidhammer staff. Great communication leading up to the event and on the day of!

The staff is so kind and friendly and really try to do everything they can to make your wedding special for you. The email communication with the staff was prompt, which is one of the most important parts of wedding planning to me. The space is BEAUTIFUL and really wows you and your guests. The Neidhammer holds a special place in our heart and we will reminisce on our wedding day there for the rest of our days. The staff was super accommodating and very helpful, especially since our event was held during increased COVID mandates. The venue is so unique and makes for amazing pictures. They have a great bar and amazing bartenders. The stage is also perfect for having live music. If you’re looking for something different this is it!
Glenn Dobbs: Bard Fest is Indy's only largest Shakespeare Festival. For the last several years the Neidhammer has generously supported our programs with beautiful rehearsal spaces and live shows. The staff at the Neidhammer supported the Arts in a way few other have and we have enjoyed our relationship with them. Their facility is beautiful and I wish we could do our entire festival at the location!

The bridal suite is perfect! We had our ceremony on the third floor, cocktail hour on the second while they flipped the room and promptly moved everyone back up to the third floor for dinner and dancing. We also utilized the first floor coffee shop during cocktail hour which was a neat touch. The Neidhammer is a gorgeous venue all on its own, minimal decor needed, if any.The venue allows you to bring in outside vendors for everything except the bar package. michael matthews: To preface, I'm a simple guy from Texas who worked in the oil fields and served in the Army for 6 years, so I'm not snoody/rich and live a simple life...however I am common sense. I wanted to surprise my wife and I had reservations for the Valentine's Day dinner at 7 pm. I'll summarize the experience:-had multiple couples that came later than us seated before us-I asked them about our reservation and they had lost our paper-we didn't get seated until 8:10pm-didn't get our first cup of water from the waitress until 8:30-my wife's salad come out completely wrong but we didn't bother to send it back since it was already 8:45 and it was a 4 course meal and at that rate we figured we'd be there until 11pm (even though the reservation said 7 to 8:30 pm-my steak came in wrong and I didn't bother sending it back for the same reason, so I ate half-we bought a bottle of champagne to have prior to the meal, waitress forgot about it at the beginning that so we asked if we could just take it home in which case the waitress gave a little bit of a fit. She had to double check and she finally had it-we were double charged on the bill-then to hammer the nail in the coffin, they tacked on over $75 of fees (admin fee, service fee, like what is this garbage)-a couple behind us were getting equally frustrated with the service and talked to us how disappointed they were as well-ultimately we didn't leave until about 10:50 pm and we had maxed our parking out...thanks guysI give people the benefit of the doubt but man...If you want a pleasant experience, don't come here. I'll get a 36 floor view for $100 on a Spirit Airlines.

Hideki S: Went for Devour winterfest and overall had quite a fantastic meal. Despite the very slow service in general and being seated in a small conference room of sorts [not exactly the showy experience i hoped for when 2 guests we brought had never seen the place before] , it was a really terrific time! Our waitress was stellar and really made up for the oversights and delays with her wonderful personal style and hospitality. Always an experience coming to this place... would recommend again, but preferably when less busy. Views are killer... it's a unique place for sure.

Grant Helms: Dining at the Skyline Club is synonymous with a special occasion or celebration. The dinner menu is small, but well crafted, and the service is often excellent. Further, the Skyline always offers that rare, yet refreshing dining atmosphere where guests can actually gather, converse, and hear each other at the table or bar. The main attraction, however, is unquestionably the city views throughout the place, which probably are as good as it gets in town.
Mandy Cross: I was very disappointed with our overall experience, especially for the price. We had reservations at 5:30 on a Friday, with Yuletide at 8:00.We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay and it was warm. We had to ask for ice, for $60/bottle, the white wine should be chilled.You were out of 3 menu items, we ordered salads that did not come out before the meal.We had to return our sea bass to be “cooked more.” It was 7:35 and we still had not gotten our check. We had to ask for it twice. We also had to ask about our food after 45 min of it being ordered.We were charged for the “complimentary” bubbly, which we never asked for, it was at our table when we arrived. We then had to have it removed from our check, which took longer. As you can imagine, we were late to our show.For a $900 meal, we expected better food and service. This place is more expensive than a high end steak restaurant. Not impressed at all.

Shane Johnson: BEAUTIFUL facility! We attended a fundraiser gala and it was a perfect space. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres were very good and then we moved upstairs for dinner. Food was perfect and they did an amazing job serving everyone at once. Definitely recommend for your event.

Rena Das: Jean and her team are amazing at what they do. We had an Indian and American fusion wedding. She took the ideas I had and turned it in to a fairytale wedding. Of course with every wedding, there is going to be issues. Our photographer got covid 2 days before the wedding and she took care of the issue so we did not stress. She had all the contacts for vendors, she booked everything, sent out invitations, got permits for the baraat, arranged details with photographers, and basically created a beautiful wedding that not only my husband and I will never forget, but neither will the guests forget. And she knew more about Indian weddings than I did! She is so professional but also she became my friend in the end. I’m so grateful for Jean and her team!

Taylor Loy: Jean (owner) and the Blue Llama Events team is exactly who you want to hire to plan and coordinate your wedding! I started planning my wedding by myself for an out of state venue that didn’t have many included amenities. When it came to putting it all together, I felt lost. This is where Jean came in and saved the day (literally)! We hired her 3 months out for her coordinating services and wish we would have hired her from the beginning! She is beyond professional, knowledgeable, and resourceful. She coordinated with our vendors before our wedding, sorted out finishing details with me, ran our rehearsal, set up the day of the event, and handled every detail of the wedding. Because of Blue Llama Events, me, my husband, friends, and family were able to enjoy the wedding day knowing everything was taken care of.
Priya Abhyankar: I had a unique experience with Jean in that our wedding was scheduled for March 28, 2020 — right at the time of the first lockdown. We had already been planning for a year, but Jean quickly took the initiative in rescheduling with all vendors. We ended up rescheduling twice due to the pandemic and finally had our amazing reception on Feb 19, 2022 Through all the cancellations, vendor changes, and small detail changes, Jean was there to make sure everything went smoothly. Sophie Cooney: Where to begin.. Jean and her team are one of a kind. We hired Jean right from the beginning and were always in contact with her for the 1.5 yrs of planning! She was the point of contact for our venders, set up meetings with them, and handled EVERYTHING the day of the wedding. I didn’t have to worry about anything but enjoying my wedding day, which is something not a lot of people get to do. Her team helped set up the decorations, take them down, and pack them into my families car. We had our dogs in our wedding and her team even brought treats to help distract them when needed. Jean put all of my centerpieces together beautifully, and even cut flowers and eucalyptus for the bud vases! It saved me so much money as I didn't need to hire a florist, but more than that it saved me from so much stress! Worth every penny.

Richard Metz: Attended a wedding there. It was very pretty inside and the food and service were great. However, a lot of people couldn't see the ceremony well because of pillars. Also, the acoustics were terrible: it was difficult to hear parts of the ceremony, partly because of the adjacent helicopter pad. Then, once the band began to play, you couldn't hear the person next to you. Parking 2 blocks away was very difficult for the mobility-impaired and with a frigid wind blowing.

I'll admit changing coordinators mid-planning was a little nerve wracking but Olivia did not skip a beat and stepped up immediately to make our day as perfect as it truly was!We weren't quite sure where to start or how to plan but they made the process so simple and had answers to questions we didn't even know to ask. We have been told by many attendees it was the most gorgeous and fun wedding they've been to.Absolutely could not have done it without them and recommend Mavris to any and all!!

I photographed an event there and they do not have private parking and was offended I pulled up to ask to unload at the door instead of walking thousands of dollars of gear from a block away from a shady PUBLIC parking lot. It has no surveillance or lighting.My catalytic converter was STOLEN and the venue did not care at all. The supervisor shrugged his shoulders, said it happened to an employee and then he went home… Did not care one bit! I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re in on some deal with the thieves.This place does not care about you, your guests or your vendors!!!!

She was so prepared and helpful. Mavris made a stressful wedding planning process not stressful!

The only con is that it is located right next to a train track and a 30+ car train just happened to pass by at the start of the ceremony… but after that it was all upwards as the outdoor setting was magical and both the cocktail hour and reception spaces were sensational! Love the red industrial brick setting, Mavris is a special place.
Rachel & Tyler Hays: Mavris is a gorgeous industrial-style venue. With 3 floors and an outdoor space there were a ton of places we could hold the different parts of our day and lots of places for pictures! The staff was so helpful and very responsive, which is honestly what I valued highly during the planning process as a bride. We had more than the average amount of dietary restrictions also, and the catering team was able to work around a lot of this to help us feed everyone! I couldn't rave about them enough!
Taylor Eaton: We toured several wedding venues, and are so happy we chose Mavris! The venue is beautiful and staff is amazing. They are so professional and on top of everything. I really appreciated how responsive and helpful our wedding coordinator (Emma) was to all of our needs. Not to mention the food is top notch. This is the best place to get married in Indianapolis!

Nerves were a little high due to the train being located so close to the outside stage but everything went according to plan. J Boug: I'm not even sure where to begin on this review. I'll start with Olivia and her talents being our coordinator. Meeting Olivia was the main reason we chose to host our wedding at Mavris. Her personality was absolutely addictive. She was there to walk us through every step of the way and made it such an memorable and more importantly easy experience. Next the venue itself. The venue is stunning and everything you could need for a wedding experience. The bridal suite is perfect, the grooms suite is perfect, the venue itself is perfect. Having both indoor and outdoor options makes you feel comfortable that not matter what, your day will be perfect. The host staff, the servers to security to just the operations staff around that day were incredible. Everyone was so friendly and helped with any issues we needed. Lastly, the food. I could write a review on the food alone. We have approximately 20 people tell us it was the best wedding food they've ever had. Many being married couple who have had their own weddings. We can't thank Mavris enough for making this day everything we imagined, and we truly hope another pair of our friends get married there just so we can be there once more.
Maggie Williams: We had originally intended on a December 2020 wedding at the Mavris but due to Covid we rescheduled for October 2021. The entire staff at the Mavris (especially our coordinator Maddie) was absolutely amazing throughout our entire planning experience. They were kind, thorough, and proactive. We were able to bring every last dream and detail to life. The service & food was spectacular and the space looked stunning. We would 10/10 recommend the Mavris to friends & family.
